@Bluehawaii29 I'm on lubion injections. I have been since egg collection . Twice a day . I do 1 at 7am and 1 7pm

Ouh I thought that about the glue one went a little smaller before they put it in and she said it was due to the glue but was fine otherwise I would have know they were using it

Goodwick for your testing ? When is your OTD .

Justawannabemam · 14/02/2022 21:07

Good luck that was meant to say.

Ouh that's interesting about the different grades . I'm glad ours were both the same now I know this .

Bluehawaii29 · 14/02/2022 21:18

@Justawannabemam haha I wish I had an OTD! I feel like time is dragging after reading so many updates on this thread everyday but I’m actually just having the baseline scan this Friday and then all being well hoping the transfer date can be about 5 days later but knowing our luck the lining probably won’t be ready on Friday and will have to scan again next week before they decide x

Mochii · 14/02/2022 21:55

I’m feeling like it definitely hasn’t worked for me. I tested this morning at 3dp6dt which I know is early, but I also feel like the line is never going to show 😩

Mountaingoat31 · 14/02/2022 22:10

@Bluehawaii29 and @Justawannabemam my two and only embryos transferred on the consultants advice were rated ‘excellent’ (looks like the brochure) and ‘good’ (looked a day behind) and at least one is still going 🤞 I did a fair amount of reading which mostly suggested no advantage of double transfer and did query the Consultant advice which was purely based on my age (nearly 4 years over the 38 threshold). DH would love twins 😳 I’d be over the moon if one makes it. Ultimately I was happier for someone else to make the decision, Sorry, advise!

Bluehawaii29 · 14/02/2022 22:23

@Mountaingoat31 hi do you mean to say you froze one or you transferred both? Sorry got bit confused, but either way you are pregnant right? Congrats! Xx

Bluehawaii29 · 14/02/2022 22:24

@Mochii nooo don’t do this to yourself! That’s truly torture. Just try and wait for the test date. The anxiety of testing early is not worth it in my opinion x

Mochii · 14/02/2022 22:40

I’m testing every day! I’m not waiting and being heartbroken that it hasn’t worked, would rather prepare myself for the bad news earlier on if it’s coming. I transferred a day 6 CC so odds are not in my favour!

Bluehawaii29 · 14/02/2022 22:45

@Mochii aww I understand what you mean about preparing yourself for bad news. I did this in my first cycle to try and avoid the devastation but it didn’t make it any easier finding out, just left a slight bit of hope each day that the result might change and each day I would get upset again seeing that it hadn’t changed. It’s so hard to know what the right thing to do is but you just have to do what you can cope with best, I hope that it does turn positive still for you xx

Mountaingoat31 · 14/02/2022 22:56

@Bluehawaii29 I (somewhat sceptically) had both transferred. I’d had a3rd and 4th which were subsequently down-graded and reclassed as unsuitable for freezing. I’ve got a 7week scan booked in 2.5 W time - not really thinking of myself as pregnant until then if all looks good… no blood tests or anything planned. I feel so bloated from all the progesterone supplements.
Drank the ‘Nozeco’ tonight which is actually pretty decent

Bluehawaii29 · 14/02/2022 23:18

@Mountaingoat31 aww that’s a lovely idea for an alcohol substitute :) good to know! Yeah I get why you are still being careful, wishing you all the best for your scan, you must be excited to know if it’s twins! hope everything works out well xxx

crazycatlady1981 · 15/02/2022 06:41

@xreadytoglow good luck with your EC! Hope we both get lots of eggs today! x

xreadytoglow · 15/02/2022 07:06

@crazycatlady1981 you too!! Wishing you lots and lots of luck and I hope it all goes smoothly for us both. I'm in at 8am. First on the list. Eeekkkk.
Feeling lots of heaviness and almost like ov pain this morning so will be glad to get them out 😂 hopefully that means they've grown some 🥺

crazycatlady1981 · 15/02/2022 09:43

Well that was a strange EC, was slightly awake for it and actually felt them sticking the needles in and stuff! 😱 Not at all like my last one when I was out for the count!!
Haven’t been told what we got yet, but I heard someone saying something about 4 😕 Will keep you all posted!

jusstjaee · 15/02/2022 09:47

@Mountaingoat31 just read your comments around having both transferred. Congratulations have my fingers crossed for you ✨

Can I ask if you had to be eligible or meet any particular requirements in order to be able to transfer two? Me and the OH have spoken about this also and have said if they asked what we would like then we was going to say about having two transferred (all being well of course)

Like your DH my Partner said he would be happy with twins and chances for us are probably a little higher as we both have twins on our sides of the family. My mum had my twins brothers and then his sister had twins. I think at this stage I'm willing to try whatever to make our chances higher so if it means two then two it is but I was saying to the OH I don't think it's as simple as saying 'I would like two transferred'

And is it really another 6 month wait to start treatment again if needs be?

jusstjaee · 15/02/2022 09:50

@crazycatlady1981 Aww well done on your EG another step closer. Oh no was it uncomfortable? That is something I would dread. How are you feeling?

*EC

crazycatlady1981 · 15/02/2022 10:12

@jusstjaee thanks! Yeah it was slightly painful! Didn’t feel a thing last time to the extent that when I woke up, I thought they hadn’t done the EC at all! They must have changed or lowered the sedatives this time!
Just got up from the bed to get dressed and there’s blood everywhere too! Oh joy!! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Bluehawaii29 · 15/02/2022 10:14

@jusstjaee hi there just seen your message. We were offered 2 embryo transfer on this first FET cycle after just one failed fresh cycle and we are with NhS. I was surprised that it was offered so soon as I’m 34yrs old and I also have a strong family history of twins. My dad has an identical twin brother and my mum had a twin pregnancy with me but sadly my twin didn’t survive due to twin to twin transfusion syndrome. I’m aware of the risks of having 2 transferred but I think we are doing it more so In the hope that at least one embryo may make it. If it’s both then we will be happy but I am still having another talk with my consultant before we sign off the consent forms for this to happen on Friday. I just want to make sure it’s 100% the right thing for us

Oh no! Did they tell you’d be aware or talk about level of sedation in advance????
thislittlebird · 15/02/2022 10:34

@Bluehawaii29 odd question, but I have three nhs transfers funded, would transferring two count as one transfer or two? I’ve never thought about that before.

Bluehawaii29 · 15/02/2022 10:37

@thislittlebird hey no it definitely counts as one, you’ll still be allowed to try again if it doesn’t work Smile

KN4321 · 15/02/2022 11:36

@xreadytoglow - best of luck today hope everything goes well xx

@thislittlebird@womaninkent@WhiteLily86 thank you for the well wishes yesterday.

Unfortunately didn't go so well. So I managed to collect 7 eggs with 4 mature to use for ICSI. In the past my partner has had issue producing sperm sample during the appointments and i had suggested to the consultant to freeze his sperm as back up just in case to ease the pressure. I was even willing to pay the £800, but as my partner had managed to do them x3 previously the doctor convinced us not to claiming it was a waste of money.. Yesterday my partner managed to produce the sample, in time for the EC, which was great. However, 4 hours later they told us there was only 5 sperm in the whole sample, instead of the thousands that should have been there and only 1 single tiny sperm was mobile. He tried to do another sample but the second sample had no sperm either. Therefore, they tried to inject that one sperm into one of the eggs, but that egg died in the process. Therefore, they have frozen my remaining 3 eggs and now need to reinvestigate my partner.

I am so upset especially as i have been told that its only 66% chance my eggs will survive the defrosting process for later date use, then they have to retry ICSI but unlikely the eggs will survive as they appear fragile. I can't help thinking if we had the frozen sperm as I suggested we could have used that yesterday and maybe had some embryos which are better at freezing and defrosting but nobody listened. So my last NHS round if likely over.

Also I not sure why suddenly my partner produced no sperm in his sample. He has some DNA fragmentation issues but the volume and number of sperm always been ok despite them being damage.

Nobody can answer my questions at the clinic and keep getting told to wait for my follow up appointment in 1 months time now :(

xreadytoglow · 15/02/2022 12:11

I'm home & in bed!
It went really well. I was the same as you @crazycatlady1981 and very conscious throughout but they'd told me prior to this that they'd stopped the proper sedation and just give you a little something to take the edge off. Then I had gas and air when I needed it throughout.
It wasn't the most pleasant thing and definitely very painful when the needle was going into my ovary (I was watching on the U/S) but I feel fine now and overall it was a positive experience.

Best news is, I got 13 eggs 🥺🥺
This is huge considering at the scan they said 4 maybe 6. Hopefully they are all mostly at a good size and quality to be fertilised. They will call me later to tell me about the quality of them. Fingers crossed. I burst into tears when she said 13.

I hope you are okay after yours @crazycatlady1981

xreadytoglow · 15/02/2022 12:14

Oh @KN4321 I'm so sorry. That is so incredibly frustrating that it could've been prevented maybe if they'd listened to you earlier. Sending you massive hugs and all the luck in the world that they defrost okay. Keep us updated x
