Does anyone else have a transfer scheduled for Friday? I’m starting to get nervous now! I’m actually looking forward to the 2WW in a weird kind of way

Justawannabemam · 08/02/2022 22:07

@crazycatlady1981 thank you

Good luck everyone collecting tomorrow .x

ReadyForTheAdventure · 08/02/2022 23:24

Thank you @Mochii @Dbop100

It's because of Covid protocol, at NHS hospital. Will see how we get on.

Hopeful199 · 09/02/2022 05:50

Hi All!

It’s been busy on here with EC’s and transfers! Good luck to you all 🍀

Just wondering for those who have recently had transfers….. are you just carrying on an normal activity wise? I had a transfer on Monday and have kind of carried on as normal. Popped to the shops Monday, had a meeting and then out for dinner last night. Is everyone else? Obviously not doing vigorous exercise or anything but sitting still and thinking about it doesn’t help me!?

How is everyone else approaching the TWW?

As for spotting…. I have had 2 natural DCs in the past and didn’t spot with either pregnancy so it’s definitely not a given

Bluebonnet3 · 09/02/2022 09:05

I had a good update from the embryologist yesterday (day 6): they biopsied and froze 3! Of the remaining two, one might be ready today but the other looks like it's had it. PGT-A testing odds for my age are around 1/3 normal (depending who you Google), so hopefully I will get at least one normal. To add to my one from last cycle. One more collection cycle to go.

Bluebonnet3 · 09/02/2022 09:20

I spoke too soon, just got today's call and we are sticking with the 3, so they will get sent to the lab today, and I should have the results in two weeks.

Bluehawaii29 · 09/02/2022 10:23

@Bluebonnet3 wishing you lots of luck with your three and hoping they are normal xx
Sorry to ask again but is dry skin a side effect of oestrogen tabs? It’s first time that my skin is so dry during my period and keep getting dry mouth too, help x

womaninkent · 09/02/2022 10:27

@Bluebonnet3 got my fingers crossed for the three
@Bluehawaii29 yes, definitely. My skin is very dry and it normally isn't at all.

Bluehawaii29 · 09/02/2022 10:31

@womaninkent thanks for letting me know. Yeah I just thought it was off as always thought oestrogen was the good hormone since dry skin is usually associated with menopause when oestrogen is low!

Gracie2021 · 09/02/2022 10:45

Congrats to all whose transfers went well and fingers crossed for you all for the TWW.

And good luck to everyone collecting today. Here's hoping for great numbers for all.

@Bluebonnet3 delighted for your three and fingers crossed you get as many of them through testing as possible. Would you mind me asking about your embryo banking? Presume that's what you're doing? Looks like we might have to go this route too and just wondering do you do back to back cycles or take a break between?

ReadyForTheAdventure · 09/02/2022 10:47

Hi @Hopeful199 not there yet, but I'm planning to carry as normal but put my feet up a lot &rest. I walk to & from work everyday 45 min each way so will slow my pace, leave early, not carrying heavy backpack etc and might get husband to give me a lift few times. Otherwise planning to carry on as normal, sensibly. My nutritionist suggested relaxing with funny programmes on Netflix & laughing a lot to increase endorphins and spending time in nature.
Good luck!!

womaninkent · 09/02/2022 11:32

@Hopeful199 carrying on as normal save for nothing but light exercise and eating as if pregnant here. They do tell you not to lift heavy things but I'm not sure how that would work with a toddler. I think it's best to be distracted-if I wasn't working and rushing around I would be sitting at home on Google which would be a disaster!

Bluebonnet3 · 09/02/2022 11:42

@Gracie2021 yes, we are currently embryo banking. I'm 42 and have had two previous ivf, one failed, one mmc. So we decided now is the time to get whatever eggs we can in 3 freeze all cycles, with the idea we would PGS test and hopefully have a few normal frosties for later FET. Best case: we have a success then try for a sibling if possible. But even getting one success would be pretty fantastic. This was my 2nd banking cycle, and it was back to back. Started stims 5 days after first banking EC, and then second EC exactly three weeks after first EC. Now I have to have a break, so have been told to wait for next bleed plus one more. I'm not sure what protocol I'll be on, so who knows if I'll start stims day 2-3 of that period, or down reg from day 21. I think we will make a plan once we have the testing results. We are testing each round, so we don't have to freeze-thaw-freeze, but it is more expensive up front.

Cayandsimit · 09/02/2022 11:50

Hello! I had my ET today. Lining was 9mm, hormone levels are good and blastocyst thawed very well. I normally have some pain during ET but this time it was very comfortable. I even got an ultrasound picture of our little embryo. This time it was without an error message blocking it 😅

I also got Omegaven infusion for half an hour afterwards. Hopefully NK in the uterus will calm down a bit. Doctor said we did everything we could and everything looks very good. Basically it is up to the nature from now on. I think I feel calm knowing this. All I can do is to pray now.

The blood test will be on the Feb 22nd. Since we are trying this hCG booster method, home pregnancy tests can show false positive so I wont test on my own. I wish everyone who is in the 2WW patience and strength. Hoping to hear good news from all of you 💐

@bluebonnet3 three is a good number. I hope all of them are normal. Wishing you best of luck 🍀

womaninkent · 09/02/2022 12:11

@Cayandsimit that all sounds great. Well done for getting to this point. I hope you have a nice calm couple of weeks.

Gracie2021 · 09/02/2022 12:18

Great news @Cayandsimit you've done everything you can so hope you can sit back and relax now. Even though relax is a dirty word in TTC 🙈 rooting for you.

That's really helpful thanks @Bluebonnet3. Think I have the same thought in my head as you in terms of thinking long term and the ull family picture. How are you feeling now? Has it been very intense on your body? I'm just off the phone with my doctor and we're converting this round to IUI but then going to do two dual stim back to back cycles with the 5 day break to try bank some embryos before going anywhere near a transfer. Feel so much better for having a plan. Also going to rerun bloods for me for a few bits and do a DNA frag test on hubby as I put the argument forward that even though he'd no risk factors, we'll have such a small number of eggs to work with that it made sense to do it and the doctor agreed. Also getting my testosterone checked so I can add DHEA if needed. Hopefully covering all bases.

Cayandsimit · 09/02/2022 12:52

Thank you @womaninkent. We will just wait and see ☺️

I think converting this round to IUI is a great plan @Gracie2021. You never know, maybe this was for the best! Also doing further testing for the next rounds of IVF will put your mind at ease.

WhiteLily86 · 09/02/2022 13:13

Had my egg collection this morning, all went well and got 10 eggs from 13 follicles. They said it was positive, but haven't paid too much attention to what numbers are good etc. Fingers crossed.

All being well will get ET on Monday for Valentine's Day 🥰

Now can relax and enjoy a quiet weekend with lots of R&R until the next stage!

Hope it went well today @Justawannabemam x

thislittlebird · 09/02/2022 13:24

Hope EC went ok @Justawannabemam and good news from yours @WhiteLily86

I couldn’t recall if anyone else was in today.

Good luck for the ETs that are happening/happened too!

LuckyNovember · 09/02/2022 13:33

So... I think... in the 2ww we have at least @Jazz234 @Mountaingoat31 @Hopeful199 @womaninkent @TTCinmy40s @Dbop100 @LetstalkaboutBruno @Cayandsimit (and me!)... and I'm probably missing some?... we're definitely getting some BFPs in the coming days 😬

@Mochii you're right to look forward to 2ww - or at least to the first half of it - no more needles, or scans or tests or appointments - it's quite a nice break from all that 😊 on the down side is the gross progesterone, and the 2nd half of the 2ww which I'm really, really feeling now 😭 7dp and Google got me and feels like a bit of a rollercoaster today 🤦🏻‍♀️

Only 2 more days to OTD, I'm gonna wait it out and not test at home.... what about all of you? I know a couple of you are otd on Friday as well, anyone tempted to test before?

LuckyNovember · 09/02/2022 13:35

@WhiteLily86 10 is a fab number, well done, and @Justawannabemam hope you had a good day too 😊

And to everyone else! I just hope it's good days and weeks all round!!!

womaninkent · 09/02/2022 13:47

@LuckyNovember oh no. The last bit of the 2WW is tough. What's currently messing with my head is that some days I feel pregnant and some days I don't. I know from the unsuccessful round when I felt the same it is just the drugs but it's hard not to get your hopes up one day and then feel really down the next.
I'm definitely waiting to OTD. I want the hope that it might have worked for as long as possible. Also if it's negative I don't want to be wondering if it was because I tested to early-I just want a clear answer.
Hope the last day and a half gets better for you. I've got my fingers crossed.

Jazz234 · 09/02/2022 14:42

@Luckynovember well done on your will power. Something I apparently have nothing of as I did test this morning.

There was the faintest, squintiest line. I am not excited about it as it was so faint and could of course mean a number of things but if it progresses on Friday I may start to feel less reserved.

I don't regret testing though. After 3 years of no BFP at all, I feel releived to know it can happen and feel positive about that at least. We will see on Friday if it's a chemical or not. :)

thislittlebird · 09/02/2022 14:51

Did anyone else’s clinic say their partner has to do his sample at home? He’s worried about train delays but they’re insistent they want him to do it at home and bring it in. Not heard of this before, assumed they’d want him to do it on site for egg collection day.

LuckyNovember · 09/02/2022 15:04

Aaarghhhh @Jazz234 that is SO exciting!! I'm impressed that you would be calm after that 🥳 it's the reason I can't test; either negative and I'd be sad for pupo to end, or positive and I would lose all my self-control 🤣
