We've now started our second attempt. I've been doing injections with 300 units of Pergoveris for about a week now and have to continue until next Wednesday. Then I'll have the surgery on Friday.
The doctor seemed a lot more positive this time round during the scan, so let's hope for the best.
I've also just sent all of the receipts and stuff back to our insurance. Let's see how long it takes them to reimburse us and how much I'm getting back.

HJen22 · 05/02/2022 13:36

@Bluehawaii29 thank you so much for the help. I will send them an email and request either an excusal or referral. Maybe excusal since it's a medical reason. I'm also having counselling and have been dealing with anxiety and stress as it is! I will make sure as you've said to emphasise that xx

Sydney1986x · 05/02/2022 13:40

Little update from me- day 5:
5/7 are being frozen today and good grades. 2 of them don’t quite seem to be catching up so they will call us back tomorrow to see if they are good enough to freeze. Happy with the news. So bring on my period and my smear results! xx

Dobcaty · 05/02/2022 14:00

@Sydney1986x wonderful news! 🤞for the other two will catch up by tomorrow!
Girls what a day we have! 🥳

I have good news too, it's day 3 today and all 5 embryos are still growing.

thislittlebird · 05/02/2022 15:57

Great news @Sydney1986x and @TTCinmy40s!

I did acupuncture today. Hopefully it will help, she said she did a “Zita West pesciption” and that’s fine by me lol. I might try to go weekly while this is ongoing.

Bec18x · 05/02/2022 16:55

Hi I hope everyone is ok. I have been a bit quiet on here as I was waiting for my official test day yesterday. I ended up testing early and had my hcg checked on 10 & 12dp5dt and everything is looking good. I have my first scan at 7weeks on the 18th Feb and I'm so anxious. I also have my first midwife appointment beginning of March.
It still doesn't feel real!

Good luck to you all and I hope you get your bfp soon xx

Dobcaty · 05/02/2022 17:30

@Bec18x A huge congratulations! 🥳🥳

Oh wow, it really is Super Saturday 😁 Congratulations @Bec18x !! One step at a time... you've made it this far, and so far so, so, SO good!!! Very, very happy for you 🥳

HJen22 · 05/02/2022 18:42

@Bec18x massive congratulations 🥳❤️ and to you ladies with continuing growing embryos x

Cayandsimit · 05/02/2022 19:51

@Bec18x amazing news! Congratulations!!! 🎉❤️ Being anxious about the first scan is just natural. I think all of us will feel the same once we get pregnant. Getting pregnant after longing for a baby for such a long time is just surreal. I am sure everything will go well on the 18th Feb ☺️🙏

Gracie2021 · 05/02/2022 21:18

@Bec18x and @Vslightlystressy what amazing news to see. Congratulations to you both. Thrilled for you and love seeing the BFPs come rolling in. Hopefully just a sign of things to come for those of you in the TWW at the minute or about to transfer.

Glad you liked the acupuncture @thislittlebird It's my favourite part of all this. How are the symptoms today?

@TTCinmy40s @Sydney1986x @Bluebonnet3 brilliant news on round on the embryo updates. Today has been a good day for so many 🎉🎉🎉 fingers crossed all keeps going so well for you all.

Doing my infections here but feels a bit pointless as I'm expecting the cycle to be cancelled Monday. Have mixed feelings even if they don't recommend cancelling as I feel it's been compromised now by me being on the wrong dose and very hesitant to pay full price to complete this round unless there's some miraculous turnaround in follicle numbers monday which is doubtful or unless they offer some sizable discount on the round due to the error. Not looking forward to Monday anyway as no matter what option they advise I think I'm going to have very mixed feelings about it all and going to have to have some difficult conversations too. My boss was also a complete ass about me having the time off even though we'd had a full conversation about me needing a one off at short notice through this. Anyway just trying to forget about it til mo day if I can but will be glad to have some clarity instead of this weird limbo.

Mochii · 05/02/2022 22:18

Ahhh congratulations @Vslightlystressy and @bec18x!!! So so happy for you both

womaninkent · 06/02/2022 09:52

@Bec18x huge congratulations!! Such wonderful news. On the round that worked I freaked out much more waiting for the scan than I did in the 2WW. It's completely normal!

Great news for everyone who's embryos are coming along nicely-what an amazing Saturday.

Thanks @Bluehawaii29 and @Janefx40. I am very lucky to have my toddler which is a good distraction in the TWW. Also, I am trying to focus on enjoying the hopefulness of the 2WW rather than worry about anything else-I suspect that is going to fall apart as we get closer to OTD!

Bluehawaii29 · 06/02/2022 11:18

@womaninkent thanks for your message, glad you are keeping distracted with your toddler Smile I am due to start meds for my FET this week. Literally 4 more days till AF. Been having migraines all weekend so I know it’s about to start. The wait didn’t feel that long in the end I have to say, feel bit better that we have been more involved in discussions with the embryologist this time and hopefully won’t feel as rushed as the first time. Good luck with your cycle and am pleased to see all the good news on this thread coming along nicely. Hopefully this year will be good for us all xx

Sydney1986x · 06/02/2022 13:25

Hi everyone,

Ah reading through this thread yesterday and today has been lovely - lots of positive news.

Congrats @Bec18x amazing news!!

@TTCinmy40s yay keep growing little embies!!

@Bluehawaii29 would you mind sharing what’s involved in the medication for your FET and the timeline? I am not sure whether it will be having natural or medicated FET yet but would love to know more if you don’t mind?

@Gracie2021 I’m so sorry your clinic have made such a terrible mistake with your dosages I really hope they can rectify this and not charge you, such a silly little mistake has huge impact on you emotionally and physically.

Our 2 little embies that had slowed down have caught up and all 7 are being frozen! So SO happy and relieved!!

Long May our positive news continue for everyone xxx

Bluehawaii29 · 06/02/2022 13:50

@Sydney1986x amazing news! Yes long may the good news continue xx
I’m just reading off my protocol sheet today as reminding myself as well, first frozen cycle for me so pretty new. Not sure why it says on the consent form ‘the chance of a pregnancy from frozen/ thawed embryos is slightly less than with fresh embryos’? I thought frozen cycles were thought to be sometimes more successful than fresh?
Anyhoo basically this is the protocol:
On day 1 of period- fyremadel injection only for 7 days (from day 1 to day 7 incl of period)
On day 1 of period - oestradiol 2mg TDS until 12 weeks of pregnancy

  1. Call the unit to book scan at around day 10 to 14 of cycle (been told to do it earliest day 12 so the lining has more chance of being ready and hopefully fewer scans)
It says scanning continues until lining measures 8mm or more and the dose of oestradiol may be increased to 8mg daily or patches may be started if necessary
  1. Once desired thickness achieved, progesteroje is commenced daily ( I’ve been told mine is with pessaries and the Lubion injections)
  2. Transfer scheduled 3-6 days after starting progesterone depending on age of embryo on day of freezing- for day 5 blastocyst it is transferred 5 days after starting progesterone
Hope that helps and if anyone else has had similar protocol interested to hear your thoughts x
CharlieBalf · 06/02/2022 16:34

@Bluehawaii29 that looks really similar to my protocol too. When is your linning scan?

I have mine tomorrow, hopefully this time its thick enough to plan the transfer for the 4th. Getting nervous there's not much more they can do to as I'm on the max amount of drugs as is to thicken.

Well done @Sydney1986x on all 7 making the cut.

Bluehawaii29 · 06/02/2022 16:54

@CharlieBalf oh nice that’s not too long till transfer then for you, hope it all goes well!
I kind of like this cycle in the sense that with my fresh they didn’t seem to place much emphasise on lining measurements so I was a bit nervous that implantation may not be favoured but at least this way they kind of can control things a bit more.
My lining scan would be around week commencing 21st feb and then hopefully all being well the transfer is 5 days later. They told me could happen first or second week of March so I’ve booked from 24th feb to 4 th March off at the mo to just unwind a bit and then told my work I’ll need a couple of days off round the transfer time but just unsure when exact date is yet. Also planning on working remotely for couple weeks after transfer r instead of completely taking it off like last time. Didn’t cope well with nothing to do that time. How about you? Do you mind me asking how your other times went x

Justawannabemam · 06/02/2022 16:57

Anyone else get a bit itchy and sore down in the vag area?

I'm not sure if it's from the medication and hormones or if other cos I've been going the toilet so much from drinking lots of water.

Lots going on over the passed few days congratulations to everyone getting BFPs hopefully be a few more in few weeks .x

Those who were negative. Hoping your all okay . Its a hard slog . But we got this. 💪

Sydney1986x · 06/02/2022 18:26

@Bluehawaii29 thank you and thank you for sharing! That’s interesting, I also read FET has higher chances too?

Ah ok so looking at a few weeks at least, gosh I really hope I can do this month and not have to wait much longer. Are your embryos day 3 or day 5? How exciting, looking forward to following your updates Over the coming weeks

Thank you @CharlieBalf

Xx

TheHopefulEgg · 06/02/2022 18:26

Hey, just been reading through the thread, and I’m sending love to you all as we ride the rollercoaster we didn’t ask to jump on!

I’m a newbie, starting IVF for the first time in March, and looking for some reassurance. I have a history of recurrent miscarriage so we’re going down the ICSI PGT-A route.
Most of my weekend has been spent ordering fresh supplements, filling the fridge and batch cooking for me and OH after a nutritional consultation that blew our minds! Helpful in many ways but so detailed…

OH has a urology consultation with Mr Ramsay next week, I have a vaginal microbiome test to do, then all going well I’m due to head to London for EC in about 6-8 weeks. I considered waiting another cycle but I’m in a fairly good place emotionally and mentally (just need to catch up a little physically!) and keen to crack on.

There’s a bit of doubt in my mind about not giving nutrition my all for 12 weeks but I’ve had a fairly good January and feel mostly positive about our decision. FET will also be a while off. That said, I’d love to know how you prepped for successful EC and if there’s anything you would do differently. I think it would help me be more realistic and stop putting so much pressure on myself. Being a recovering perfectionist is hard work and I have to remind myself to “let go” sometimes!

I’d also like to know if any of you are taking medication for anxiety. I’m on sertraline and clinic would like me off it but I think I’m better on it. Pretty low dose and takes the edge off.

Thanks for reading, if you got this far Smile

wholemeal121 · 06/02/2022 18:35

Hello, please can I join? It's been so comforting reading through your experiences and congratulations to the two recent positives!
I started my first down reg injection yesterday. Really struggled bucking up the courage to do the first one but just done day 2 and it was much easier once I new what to expect. It felt so unnatural sticking a sharp pointy thing into me on purpose!

HJen22 · 06/02/2022 18:40

@TheHopefulEgg like you, I'm away to start my first cycle. I had a nutritionist appointment back in October and spent two months doing sugar, caffeine, gluten, dairy, alcohol free. It was so hard tbh. I'm kind of kicking myself though that I didn't stick with it until now and am going to do a last ditch detox on the lead up to our cycle starting. I kept with the no caffeine or alcohol but I've def been comfort eating since November! The complete opposite to what I should have been doing 🙈

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 06/02/2022 18:55

Ladies if you have the willpower to eat clean do it, if not cut the worst bits out. You have to remember stress and anxiety causes more damage than a bit of chocolate or cheese ;-) wishing you all the best with your cycles x
