TTC with Letrozole/Clomid

Anyone else here on Letrozole or Clomid for ovulation induction?

I'm on my 2nd cycle of Letrozole and looking for others in a similar situation.

Info about me:
26 y.o
Been TTC for just over 2 years.
Dosage: 5mg of Letrozole on days 3-7.
Diagnoses: Male factor (0% morphology), low AMH, low progesterone

I'm currently on CD10 and using OPKs to track for ovulation. I'll be taking a blood test on 7dpo to check if I ovulated.

Af has arrived. On to cycle 2 for me. Hope everyone is doing ok xx

@Wackadoodle84 sorry AF has turned up! Hope you're okay? I'm still getting high OPK readings, still not reached my peak 🙄

Am ok, had a BFN on Friday morning so was kind of expecting it. Have my letrozole ready to start in the morning.

How strange, what cycle day are you on now? Hopefully you will get a peak soon

AF here for me tonight, so onto letrozole round 2 (5mg) on Sunday

Hey everyone. Wanted to join this thread because when AF arrives this week I will be starting 2.5mg of letrozole from days 3-7. We've been TTC for 16 months and all tests have come back 'perfect' so annoyingly in that unexplained category. Keen to here how others have found it? I know chances of success are slim but we're trying whatever we can before we have to go down the pricey route of IVF 😊

Im CD26! I'm so confused if I've ovulated or not, I missed a few days testing around the time of the flashing smiley's, I then continued to get low readings when I continued to test and now I'm getting higher readings on premom and a blank face on CB but when the CB are read on the premom app it's coming up peak 🤷🏼‍♀️😩

When taking letrozole, what day does everyone normally ovulate? At a normal CD or still later?

I well could just been getting surges due to PCOS, and maybe stop with the OPK's 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Rhianne18 they aim for CD14 but I know people who have been as late as CD18. For me, not yet is the answer!

@TheDaydreamBelievers I didn't have a surge on CD14, possibly missed it on CD15/16 when I missed testing, but other from that it looks like the letrozole hasn't worked for me. Have you not had any success with letrozole?

@Rhianne18 I'm only just starting round 2 - we are still titrating the dose. Still a long way to increase to see if it could work

@TheDaydreamBelievers what dose are you on atm? I'm on 5mg for three cycles, if it's not worked this month, do you think it will be the same with my other two cycles without an increase in dose?

Hi @Rhianne18 I’m cd 10 today, have a scan tomorrow to see if any follicles developing 🤞🤞.

Maybe you ovulated and missed your peak? What day did you start testing on? I definitely ovulated on CD 13 last month on letrozole which is earlier than usual for me. Fingers crossed it was a similar situation for you. Quite happy about the fact AF wasn’t delayed by the letrozole. I can remember from the clomid years ago that my cycle was always lengthened by it which was so disheartening when testing each month

@Rhianne18 5mg this round. My round 1 which didn't work was 2.5mg. My understanding is NHS increases it until they get a dose that works.

I'm surprised your clinic doesn't do anything to see if it's worked. Private clinics usually offer alllll the monitoring as they can charge for it too.

I guess if your period doesn't come by cd35 and you aren't pregnant then you'd know it hadn't? Whereas if period comes by cd35 or youre pregnant it clearly has worked!

@Wackadoodle84 AF I'm on right now is just the end of cycle 1. Now on CD3 of cycle 2 so taking my 5mg letrozole dose

@TheDaydreamBelievers ah I see, that makes sense! Nope, no monitoring offered at all, just try this for 3 months, if it don't work, IVF! I also don't know if it's because DH has low sperm count and they want to test again in 3 months cause he just had covid the time of testing! Could be because they think we're likely to need IVF 🤷🏼‍♀️ No AF or BFP by CD35 makes perfect sense and I'll go by this guideline! Keeping everything crossed for 5mg for you 🤞🏼

Hi folks, strange one for me this month🤔, when I went to collect my prescription the pharmacy technician was adamant that I was to take 7.5mg dose this month. Felt it was a big jump up considering I responded well to the 2.5mg so stuck with the 2.5mg. Very strange, double checked dose with my consultant today and he said I was definitely not for 7.5mg and not sure what happened with pharmacy. He had a copy of script so definitely prescribed 2.5mg.

Anyways, responded well to the 2.5mg this month, 1 lead follicle on left side again, Heve trigger shot to take tomorrow cd12. I’m on nights this week so all efforts are going to feel very ‘planned’ this week 🤦‍♀️

@TheDaydreamBelievers fingers crossed for you for the 5mg dose. Are you having many side effects?

@Wackadoodle84 no headaches so far this month! Hopefully they will stay away as awful last time.

About the pharmacy - was it a typed prescription or handwritten? Just ask as 2 and 7 look alike written down...

Hello all, update from me, after getting high OPK readings while also having sore boobs I thought I'd try a pregnancy test and got a BFP, in totally shock and disbelief 😱

Congratulations @Rhianne18 !!! What round/dose was that? What dpo is this? As we said, here's proof that 5mg has worked for you!!!

@TheDaydreamBelievers this is round one of letrozole and metformin. 5g of letrozole and 1500mg of metformin! I actually missed my peak but I didn't test on CD 15-16 so i think thats when I ovulated, so I'm thinking 12DPO! There really is hope and I'm so shocked it's worked first round, I honestly don't believe it!

Hope it's ok if I join in. I have PCOS and it took me 3 years to conceive DD3. Have been trying for a second since she was born with no luck, so am trying letrozole.

First cycle, 2.5mg day 2-6. Scan on day 13 showed follicles 18 and 24 so had HCG trigger shot. Currently CD22 and just waiting ...
