IUI 2022

Anyone looking to pursue IUI treatment in the new year?

I'm currently on cycle 18 with unexplained infertility and waiting for my NHS IVF referral appointment in January. In the meantime DH and I are looking to do some IUI cycles privately while we wait.

I have my baseline scan and consultation with Create Fertility next week.

@Shrut89 hey have you got your results back? Keeping everything crossed for you 🤞

Hi @unCliche my blood work results are back and I am pregnant but hcg levels are on lower side. Just worries about it.
have you ever heard someone with similar situation.

unCliche · 26/05/2022 19:14

Oh no @Shrut89 will you be having another blood test? I heard that it's not the value that matters but whether the hCG levels are doubling every 48-72 hours. I hope this pregnancy works out. How many DPO/DPIUI are you? What was your number? Over 50 is good but women have found success with lower numbers.

Hi @unCliche my IUI was on 9th May, so I am 16dpo, I have another blood work tomorrow, this is such a confusing state, I can just pray to God, please keep me in your prayers as well,
my numbers are 40 IU/L

@Shrut89 oh that's wonderful news! I was really hoping that things would work out and they did! Congrats again on your pregnancy and I hope things continue to go smoothly. When's your estimated due date?

Hi @unCliche thanks for your wishes friend. My due date is February 01, 2023.
how about you? When is your due date and how’s it going for you?

unCliche · 31/05/2022 19:38

Hi ladies - those on this thread who have had clomid/letrozole with IUI due to unexplained infertility, did you ever have any issues with dosage? I had my day 12 scan yesterday and all follicles for 10mm or under, and my estrogen came back low, so I have to go back on CD19 (which I am sure will be too late when I have a 28 day cycle!). What I'm wondering is, why wouldn't I have responded? I've been told throughout this that I ovulate based on my bloods, but when I take letrozole I'm apparently nowhere near ovulating even though I'm nearing the middle of my cycle? Any ideas?!

unCliche · 06/06/2022 10:29

@Shrut89 How are things going? I just got back from holiday. Yeah we'll both be at very similar stages, I think that so exciting!

Hey @BritInNZ , did your follicles manage to catch up? I was on the lowest dose of letrozole and had two follicles in the running but my lining was the thinnest its ever been. My body could basically do a lot better on its own so I wouldn't say the meds made things better for me as someone who ovulates on their own. Maybe clomid will work well for you or even going unmedicated.

@Shrut89 congrats!! 3rd time was a charm. You've tempted me to maybe give a 3rd shot a go but will have a few months off and see. All the best!

Shrut89 · 06/06/2022 16:38

Hi @unCliche i am doing absolutely fine, but last two days have been very scary for me, I have been spotting not sure it it’s normal my doctor is saying it’s completely normal but I am very very scared.

unCliche · 06/06/2022 18:18

Oh @Shrut89 I'm sorry you're so scared but you're doctor is right, it can be normal. When will you be having your scan? Maybe booking something earlier will help give you peace of mind?

OP posts:
Shrut89 · 06/06/2022 19:19

Thanks @unCliche yes I read online as well that’s it’s completely normal, I am planning to get blood work done rather than early scan just to see if my numbers are increasing rightly.

BritInNZ · 06/06/2022 21:07

@unCliche thanks for asking, I actually have my follow up scan this afternoon so will let you know after. I'm 99% sure I have ovulated already, so will be interesting to see whether I'm right!

Twittwoo2020 · 07/06/2022 08:50

Wow I took some time offline and can’t believe the great news I am reading coming back! Congrats @Shrut89 and @unCliche hoping you are both doing ok and keeping well.

I have 10 days to go before i start my stims for two weeks, looking like egg collection will be somewhere at the end of june all going well. Took my down regulation injection 10 days ago and not having many side effects which is great!

Shrut89 · 07/06/2022 18:52

Hi @unCliche I am probably miscarrying today morning blood was like first day periods, rushed to my doctor for scan and she was not able to see anything in ultrasound. She was scared if it’s ectopic but looks like not they took my blood work to see if my hcg has gone down.
I am shattered, devastated and heart broken don’t know what Is happening and what God is trying to indicate.

unCliche · 07/06/2022 20:47

@BritInNZ Did things go well?

@Twittwoo2020 Thank you 😊 That's great that you're not having any side effects from the meds. With all the injecting, poking and prodding you have to go through, the best you can hope for is a cooperative body 😆 good luck with stims and let us know how you get on with egg collection and embryo transfer. Are you hoping to do a fresh transfer?

Oh love, I'm so sorry @Shrut89. Unfortunately, everything that happens is out of our control but that doesn't mean God, the universe or life are trying to tell us anything. You've done everything right and the last thing you need is to blame yourself. My heart completely breaks for you and if you want to talk, I'm always here for you. I really do hope that your hCG numbers do continue to rise and your scan is just too early to see anything. Look after yourself lovely 💕

OP posts:
Shrut89 · 07/06/2022 20:51

Thanks friend @unCliche my hcg numbers have not increased much they were 102 on 28th May and 128 in June 7th which means it was a non viable pregnancy. I am just trying to keep myself together, hopefully crying will help me in coping. I and my husband we both are devastated.

unCliche · 07/06/2022 22:05

@Shrut89 Take all the time you need to be sad 😔 Sending love and hugs. I hope you and your husband can find comfort in one another ❤ Thinking of you

OP posts:
Shrut89 · 07/06/2022 22:10

Thanks @unCliche not sure if my doctor could have done anything to stop this, I told them about spotting day before yesterday but they said they can’t do anything at this time they said if it would be viable then it will stay and if now they can’t do anything to stop it. What do you think? Canadian medical system looks sham to me.

unCliche · 07/06/2022 22:12

@Shrut89 Have you ever had your progesterone levels checked? The only thing I can think of are maybe your hormones aren't high enough to sustain a pregnancy.

OP posts:
Shrut89 · 07/06/2022 22:13

I think my doctor will be checking progesterone in the blood work.
