Hi,

I'm not sure if there is already a thread open for a FET in November / December.

I was due to have a FET last week however after having two lining scans, I tested positive for coronavirus 🙄. I should now be having a FET after my next bleed (mid November) and hopefully a FET early December. Would be great to chat you others on a similar timeline. X

Thank you both. I did think of you @lauradxoxo as it was so similar to what you went through (which I remember reading your posts and shedding a tear for you at the time). I’m finding it pretty hard. It feels like I’m totally failing at work after so many ivf appointments and being poorly which isn’t helping either and I’m having to work late to try and catch up. Not sure if it’s having had Covid or the stress of ivf but my brain doesn’t seem to be functioning. I’ve got an appointment with the consultant next week but I don’t want to start til May at the earliest, my DH is eager to get straight on but understands that I want to feel a little closer to ‘normal’ first.
How are you getting on? You were going to start a FET if I remember correctly? Hope the journey is going well for you xx
@Twinmummy15 that’s such lovely news. Is that your 3month scan? Have you told anyone the news yet? Xx

lauradxoxo · 08/04/2022 08:07

Hi @ExhaustedPigeon1988 how are you doing? I’m so glad you found your consultation went well. You really deserve someone to look after you well after all you have been through. Unfortunately I don’t have any experience of any of those tests that you have referred to but I’m sure many of the ladies on here might. I’m sure I have also seen a thread for era/alice/Emma testing so might be worthwhile posting in there too as those ladies probs have lots of wisdom/experience to share. It’s a lot of money isn’t it especially if that would cost you another round so definately be good to get some advice.

@Agapanthus13 I’m so sorry iou having such a hard time. I know how hard it was for me after I had that chemical over Christmas I just couldn’t get my head into work friends anything. Was really low for what felt like ages. I didn’t even want to think about another round as I was so scared. But I eventually picked myself up and went through another round mid March. I went into it so blah tho. Like with no excitement at all. Think it’s natural when you’ve went through round after round and only had bfn or loss. Had my transfer at the end of March OTD isn’t till Tuesday. But I decided early today (I tested early last time ans I knew I would this time too I just can’t help myself!) I’m 10dp5dt and it’s a BFP but I just can’t get myself excited about it at all. I’m now worrying sick the same is Gona happen again and I’ve put myself in that horrible position where I’m Gona be obsessing over line progression! I’m
Just going to need to try and relax but the whole process is just so tough.

@Twinmummy15 awww amazing news !! Is that you 12 weeks now? You must be over the moon so so happy for you! I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well xxxxxx

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 08/04/2022 08:55

@lauradxoxo thank you, it's nice to finally be listened to, and given some sensible advice. Everything he said was what I had wanted from the start, plus some added extras. How are you? X

ShareLove · 08/04/2022 10:34

Sorry girls , I am out! My hemotoma has taken the pregnancy with it today ! Because I had a massive bleed ! So I’ll start again when ready ! Good luck to you girls ❤️

lauradxoxo · 08/04/2022 11:37

Awww @ShareLove I am so so sorry to hear this? Are you absolutely sure? Have you had confirmed with a scan? Xxxx

ShareLove · 08/04/2022 11:45

@lauradxoxo yes I had scan today. 😭 it’s so raw right now ! I don’t know how I am going to survive this ! This is my 6th loss now ! I just want to give and and disappear from this world

lauradxoxo · 08/04/2022 11:52

@ShareLove I am honestly so so sorry my heart is broken for you. You have been through so much 😭😭 have they given you any advice going forward? Or anything they could try/change because of your losses?

I know it’s so raw today and I know it will take a while please take the time you need to grieve this is just so so cruel xxxx

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 08/04/2022 12:03

@ShareLove not that it will make you feel any better but I feel your pain. But I had 4 losses years ago (natural), which caused the split of me and my exhusband. Luckily men a much kinder man, who has supported me through our IVF journey incredibly, and we sadly lost our IVF twins in December.... now powering up for another fresh cycle.... after the twins I honestly didn't think I would survive, I couldn't face people, work, life- anything. Somehow I'm still standing, and so will you, I learnt to live hour by hour, and pushed for more rounds asap to focus myself on- although friends wanted me to rest I needed the distraction. That lead to another failed frozen transfer, and I must admit I struggled mentally all the way through. I'm feeling just stronger now, although I do regularly have melt downs. Time is a healer, it's just getting through those first few weeks. I'm so so so sorry you are going through this, and I'm here is you ever want anything, anything I can help with I will :) I am now looking at testing, have you had any done previously? X

ShareLove · 08/04/2022 12:05

@lauradxoxo hey , I will be seeing my consultant once this is all over and clear and then I will discuss what to do next … my suggestion is steroids as I belive my immune system is attacking my own pregnancy’s … natural killer cells , I don’t know if you have ever heard but people who normally have many losses get this prescribed . But I did mention this to my consultant last time and he didn’t belive in it so I might have to go to London specialist to do all tests again and ask for the steroid because I know they do give you them in London clinics . Xx thanks for being so supportive , I’m just taking minute by minute at the moment , I feel like can’t breath it all feels like a nightmare . 😭

ShareLove · 08/04/2022 12:11

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 aww thank you for your lovely message 😭 I’m so sorry you had to go though this hell like I am ! I really don’t know how I will survive ! Why is life so unfair ?! I have had nhs testing and nothing found wrong ! I will be going to see a specialist in recurrent losses in London if my consultant refuses to prescribe me steroids for my next pregnancy , I think my body is rejecting pregnancy’s . They were not sure if the hematoma took the pregnancy or the same reason what I had for the last 5 losses but I belive I lost it because of the same reason and the last 5 because it’s the same time as last ones … and I want to go for natural killer testing so I could get steroid , this is the only thing I can think off to help me .. xxx

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 08/04/2022 12:32

@ShareLove my clinic don't do testing or treatment for NK which makes me really angry, as I hours away from another clinic, so feel I am stuck with their outdated ways... on the plus side they have offered many other tests, maybe worth looking into some of these too? I have attached my list... it maybe something to look into queen you are ready. I was so bitter and angry after my last loss, I still am, but contain it better now. I have no words of wisdom, as I drank far too much alcohol and ate like a pig until I started another round and I suddenly had to be a responsible adult again lol. All I will say, you are stronger than you realise, even to have got this far is incredible, take peace from the little achievements, and keep keeping on, sending loads of love and warm wishes x

FET November/ December
ShareLove · 08/04/2022 21:25

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 thank you lovely xxx
I don’t think I would need the scratch and receptivity test as I can get pregnant no problem just can’t keep them after 6 weeks , but I could do with the genetic testing but my doctor doesn’t think there is anything wrong as I’m young , well I lost some pregnancy’s at early 20 too so he doesn’t think it’s genetic problem .
Covid 19 Iv done already was all clear and lupus Iv done was all clear too xx
I’m going to ask my consultant for nk cells steroid , if he won’t give me them then I’ll pause the cycle and go private and once I get steroid I’ll start cycle again simple xxxx

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 08/04/2022 21:46

@ShareLove I am so glad you have a plan, I really wAnt to follow the KC path, but just don't know where to turn- my clinic won't listen and all other clinics are too far away :( will try all other tests just to rule it all out, but feel I'm wasting time and energy. I am 100% the same as you, no probs with implantation, but can't get past 6 weeks :( x

ShareLove · 08/04/2022 22:27

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 hey , can’t you just push your consultant to give you steroids anyways to suppress you immune system ? For nk cells? This is my plan , I know I haven’t been tested but I will push for it !
I think this is our both problem ..I really do ..
if my consultant won’t give me then I’ll have to travel to London which is 5 hours by train but it will be worth it for me because I’ll do anything to have a new plan , can you not travel for this test if you have to ? Or is travelling not an option for you ? Xx

ShareLove · 08/04/2022 22:30

I’m planning to use dr gorgy ,amazing specialist in recurrent losses , he also does zoom appoitment consultations 250£ . His my new plan if my own consultant won’t agree , I won’t go ahead with same plan like last time next ivf cycle no way !

ShareLove · 08/04/2022 22:31

Can I ask why won’t your consultant give you the steroids ? What’s his opinion ? X have you asked them ?

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 09/04/2022 07:41

@ShareLove my clinic just won't have it. They are claiming the hfea still have it banned :( travelling is difficult, but potentially something I may have to do, although I don't know how that would affect the treatment plans at my clinic, I can't switch as I have prepaid for my next fresh and all frozen rounds. Plus switching would mean rather than a 50 minute drive, the next closest is 3 hours away, which isn't practical, so I'm stuck with this clinic :-/

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 09/04/2022 07:43

@ShareLove what clinic is dr gorgy at? I may see about a zoom consultation.... £250 is nothing to pay to save the pain of more loss! X

Agapanthus13 · 09/04/2022 09:22

@ShareLove I’m so so sorry to read this lovely. How are you doing today? Hope you’re looking after yourself well and taking the time you need xxxx I honestly can’t imagine the pain you’re going through x

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 how are you? Gosh that’s a long list of tests from your clinic. The only one I have experienced with is a hysteroscopy. I waited 4months to have it done on the nhs as I had a suspected polyp but the wait was causing me sooo much stress we ended up paying privately and had it done the next week. Turns out their was no polyp and everything looked fine (they essentially use a camera to look inside and much clearer to see everything than ultrasounds and X-rays). It wasn’t cheap - almost £4.5k which would have paid for another round. It’s so difficult to know where to spend the money. After our failed round at Xmas we ended up paying to have consultation at 3 different clinics. It felt expensive to do so and took time to book them have tests and wait etc but getting three different options was sooo valuable and we ended up going to the one I least expected and I’m so so pleased with our choice. Might it be worth getting a second opinion? I’ve heard dr Georgi mentioned in a number of chats but have had no experience with him myself.

@lauradxoxo that’s such wonderful news lovely xxx I totally understand your cautious approach. Take it one day at a time, but do try and see the joy in it. My last clinic had OTD on 9dp5dt which seemed so early. Will you be able to go for bloods test to check your beta?
Thank you for your kind words, they really help. I’ve booked to see a counsellor next week, not really ‘my thing’ I like to bury my feeling but I thought anything is worth a try. I just keep wondering if it was catching Covid that caused the loss and worried that was meant to be ‘my’ baby. We did get a pup after our last failed transfer (something we’d talked about for years but we’re putting off until we had kids) and he brings so much joy to our days, so at least we have him 💕

ShareLove · 09/04/2022 09:48

@ExhaustedPigeon1988
Hey , dr gorgy is in London
www.fertility-academy.co.uk/
But I was thinking to have the zoom appoitment and see what he says and I heard that after that he will ask you to come for testing on a suitable day and it can cost a lot of money if you do all testing from scratch. Maybe like £2000 , but if you have recent tests been done he will consider all this in and won’t do unnessasary tests if you already have had them . But my recurrent pregnancy losses test were done like 8 years ago when I first lost 3 pregnancys , so obviously he will want to do it all again , I think he accepts test 3-6 months ago . I don’t know maybe you can say which ones you want or not …. I guess you can .
So if he asked me to go for testing then it would be 1 trip there for testing and then it’s zoom appoitment again to go through the results . I don’t know I’m hopeless so I’ll do anything to get predionsole .. I see I can book the zoom appoitment online on the website ..
But my first plan is to have consultation with my own clinic and ask if they will give me predionsole or not and if they say no then I will book the zoom with dr gorgy ! Xx

ShareLove · 09/04/2022 09:50

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 also I don’t think he’s treatment would affect your treatment at your clinic ? I think he would prescribe the predionsole and whatever else he thinks you need and you tell your clinic and you just take them xx

ShareLove · 09/04/2022 09:54

@Agapanthus13 thank you lovely ! I’m okay right now ! Just waiting for misscarrige to happen , back to work tomorrow so hopefully it won’t happen while I’m at work and happens when I’m home xx

ShareLove · 09/04/2022 10:13

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 I wonder if dr gorgy would prescribe predionsole after zoom appoitment ? Just that on its on without testing ?!. C

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 09/04/2022 10:19

@Agapanthus13 it's a very long list, and a further £3.5k, I'm just not sure any will really benefit us- the dr has said that basically more rounds of ivf are what gives greater chances over testing and changing treatment plans.... but it's not him dealing with it all, don't get me wrong I am 100% willing to keep going, but we do not have unlimited funds, and I feel we need to be cautious as to what is being spent when.

Thank you @ShareLove I hope you get what your need, and I will defo let you know if there is anywhere I can find the meds... we are both in a mission ;-) x

ShareLove · 09/04/2022 10:28

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 I wish you could just buy the predionsole online somewhere I am so desperate ! Iv been even thinking of asking on mumsnet if anyone can give me any or buy me some for some good money in return ! Iv been looking at abroad countries taht sell without prescription but i don’t trust the websites . I’m willing to pay someone good money if anyone can get me some. Sad
