Hi,

I'm not sure if there is already a thread open for a FET in November / December.

I was due to have a FET last week however after having two lining scans, I tested positive for coronavirus 🙄. I should now be having a FET after my next bleed (mid November) and hopefully a FET early December. Would be great to chat you others on a similar timeline. X

@Alexm06 @Agapanthus13 I’m doing ok yesterday was the first day I didn’t cry! I’ve hust been so so upset about it but need to try and pick myself up and keep going. Need to book round 3 …here we go again 🤣

@Prayingforabubba @Faerun how are you both doing hopefully no more bleeding and you can both relax a bit.

@lilipa I am sooo sorry to read your message. I am absolutely heartbroken for you 💔 this journey is honestly so painful I don’t know how we manage to continually put ourselves through it xxxxxx

Faerun · 03/01/2022 14:47

@Agapanthus13 Thank you. It’s Wednesday which can’t come soon enough as at this point I just want to know either way.

@lauradxoxo How are you holding up?

More bleeding here sadly, I’ve now gone through all of the types except heavy with clots. Managed 3 days with nothing but today it’s back again, despite me taking it very easy. Can’t imagine it’ll be all well so preparing for it, whilst feeling pretty crap with nausea and tiredness which feels so unfair.

lauradxoxo · 03/01/2022 15:28

@Faerun I honestly think you will be fine. I don’t want to get your hopes up but if it’s not heavy and no clots it could be absolutely normal. Plus your having pregnancy symptoms so that’s a good sign! Have you taken another pregnancy test? Il be keeping everything crossed for you but I have a good feeling for you ❤️

I’m doing ok day 2 of no Tears since Xmas Eve! But didn’t Reakise how devasted I would be. To be honest as naive as it sounds when I went into ivf I didn’t even consider the possibility of a chemical or a misscarraige. I had never been pregnant so I thought if ivf worked that would be it I would stay pregnant. This experience really is a learning curve and it really is such a cruel journey. But when you want something so badly and there’s no other choice you just need to pick yourself up and keep going don’t you. It really is so hard though xxxxx

Faerun · 03/01/2022 16:41

@lauradxoxo I haven’t taken another test, figured not much point as after my last miscarriage it took 4 weeks to get a negative.

I’m glad you’re doing better. No tears is a good sign. We did talk about the possibilities when we started, but it’s all well and good to talk about things logically - but when they happen to you I don’t think anyone can prepare you for how devastating it is. For me, starting to plan and prepare for the next round did help - but it took a while to feel on an even keel. It also helped to think at least I’ve had a positive test, so you know it can work.

Agapanthus13 · 04/01/2022 20:55

Evening all, hope everyone is doing ‘ok’?

I wondered if I could ask about approx private ivf cycle costs? Our last cycle was nhs and I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed today trying to price out the various options for clinics. I’m coming up with approx £7k - £11k for an ivf cycle with an average clinic, including freezing any remaining embryos. I’ve included a budget of £2k for meds in those above fees. Does that sound about right or am I miles off?

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 04/01/2022 22:37

@Agapanthus13 we used access fertility, it was about £8k I believe, and that includes 2 egg collections, and all frozen transfers available from those collections. All scans and consultations etc are included you just pay for meds on top. Egg collection meds were £1k, and frozen meds are £150, then it's £100 extra for each cycle for a bloody covid test! Hope this helps? X

Alexm06 · 05/01/2022 07:15

@Agapanthus13 I've been looking into access fertility. I mean I'm still in limbo and have no idea what's going on with me but I had everything booked in starting at a new clinic (which I'm going to have to cancel) but I had to have the fertility MOT done again as it was over a year ago they were done then I had to have my first consultation then I could contact access fertility. They we are planning to do the 2 cycle one so that said there is some investigations they have to do but it's just the blood tests and scan (I called to ask) and they take 2 weeks max to get back to you then you are good to start. I will attach the price list they sent me but it is for my clinic so not sure if it would cost more or less where you are.

Lilipa · 05/01/2022 10:29

Thank you everyone for your support on my loss. I will leave this group now and wish you all remaining to have full term healthy pregnancies and to hold your healthy babies in your arms this summer.

lauradxoxo · 05/01/2022 14:37

@Agapanthus13 I’m on the nhs so unsure if private costs but thank you @ExhaustedPigeon1988 for the info good to know incase I move to private in the future. How are you doing after your loss? Have you decided wether to book a new cycle?

@Lilipa I am truly sorry for your loss really thought this would be the one for you. I know how you must be feeling so take the time you need to grieve and heal. I may see you on another thread in the future. I’m taking a little break myself after 8 months of ivf treatment last year and still no baby 😭

@Alexm06 have you got a scan booked?

@Faerun good luck for your scan today xxxxxx

Faerun · 05/01/2022 14:55

@Agapanthus13 That looks about right for what ours cost - first go was more expensive, around 10k because of tests and meds, second go was under 6k because we had drugs leftover. That was with one of the big central London ones.

@Lilipa Best of luck to you and I hope both career and your next attempt work out. You seem like a lovely person and you deserve it.

Thank you everyone for crossed fingers and thoughts. We had the scan and despite all the bleeding everything looks on track. Can’t quite believe it.

Best of luck to everyone still waiting for scans.

Alexm06 · 05/01/2022 15:55

@lauradxoxo yeah I had a scan and see couldn't see anything. She wasn't worried at all I showed her my tests and she was like they are very dark lines it's just early but I know people who are at the same stage as me have scans and they can see something. But yeah she was convinced nothing was wrong I need to relax and just come back for a scan in 2 weeks. But yeah she was saying I'm only 4.5 weeks as she was going from how old was the blast was but yeah I'm pretty sure that not how others date it. So yeah I'm not positive at all and had some more spotting yesterday which she wasn't worried about but yeah it's just hard to relax when you know somethings wrong.
Hope your ok x

Prayingforabubba · 05/01/2022 17:54

@Faerun so so happy for you! I hope you have an uneventful remainder to your pregnancy. X

Prayingforabubba · 05/01/2022 17:56

@Agapanthus13 I went with ABC IVF. They are very cheap. 2.5k for ivf , I paid 3750 for icsi. The prices may have increased but that includes all tests , bloods and scans and medications. It's all inconclusive and a great price but I did have a love hate relationship with them x

@Lilipa again, so sorry for your loss. Wishing you all the best for your future treatment and hope your career change goes well x

Agapanthus13 · 05/01/2022 21:18

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 @Alexm06 @Faerun & @Prayingforabubba thank you so much for sharing your info on costs, it’s really so appreciated in this minefield!

Agapanthus13 · 05/01/2022 21:21

@Faerun thats wonderful news about your scan today, I’m really happy for you. Must have been a great relief & a very special moment 💕

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 06/01/2022 09:45

@lauradxoxo I'm the same as you, struggling so much. Despite many chemicals/miscarriages in the past, I honestly had the same feeling as you/ that if I could just get pregnant through IVF it would stick, to have 2 confirmed then a few days later to have that taken away is cruel, so so cruel! Nothing helps, everywhere I look see things that remind me of the last cycle. It really silly, as was barely a pregnancy, but it's left me such a mess. Every day is a drunken struggle, which I know is self destructive, I also know it can have a knock in effect on the next cycle, but I'm too hurt and angry to change atm. My drugs arrived yesterday ready for the next cycle, now I just have to wait for my period... I'm testing for ovulation everyday to try and guess when it may come, but nothing, no sign of anything atm, which is also making me angry lol. This will be my last frozen transfer before needing to start a new egg collection :( just gotta keep pushing forward. Where are you at, have you booked another cycle or are you taking time to yourself first? X

lauradxoxo · 06/01/2022 10:09

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 I totally get you honestly your not alone. Even tho it was such an early loss it doesn’t make it any less painful. I too am so hurt and angry about it and finding it so hard to find the strength to pick myself back up. We put ourselves through so much physically and emotionally with ivf praying to finally get that BFP after years of Heartache so to have it all taken away so quickly seems so unfair and so cruel. I’m glad your starting to think about your next cycle that might help give you some focus.

I’m one of the unfortunate ones the new covid vaccination policy has affected. The whole way through my 8 months of treatment last year when I asked if I should get my covid jags done the clinic kept telling me no not right now as your about to start/in the middle of treatment you wouldn’t want to consider that a factor if anything goes wrong. Now they are telling me they won’t offer me another cycle until I’m fully vaccinated. I’m so annoyed about it I think it’s a disgrace. Not that I’m against getting vaccinated as I’m completely happy to just because they told me for months not to now they won’t treat me. And you need to wait 12 weeks in between doses so that puts me back 3 months. That on top of the pain of my loss is making me feel like giving up xx

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 06/01/2022 10:39

@lauradxoxo omg, that's awful!!!! I haven't had any of my jabs, as didn't want to take something that's so new while doing ivf, would happily have it after having a baby, but wasn't keen on before. I haven't even heard of this new policy.... is that uk based? All clinics? Think I will email mine and see where I stand before I need another egg collection. I think that's bloody awful they are refusing you treatment, that's your human rights to make your own decisions.... appalling!!!

lauradxoxo · 06/01/2022 10:47

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 I’m in Scotland so it’s new policy announced on 23rd of December by Scottish government. I am so so angry and upset as they are now refusing treatment as if immediate effect. It should totally be your own choice what you put into your body now they are forcing us if we want to continue to try to have a family. It’s terrible isn’t it. As If this journey isn’t hard enough 😪

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 06/01/2022 10:57

@lauradxoxo I am so so sorry you have to deal with this, it's shocking! I had no idea, I'm gobsmacked. I don't know how you are coping, I would be so angry, I appreciate it's not your clinics fault, and they potentially didn't know what was coming, but to have to wait so long is very frustrating! On a very very small plus side, it gives you 3 months to heal, and to prime your body for a perfect pregnancy.... have you tried hypnosis? Acupuncture? I also take procieve, which I highly rate.... time to put yourself first :) x

Agapanthus13 · 06/01/2022 11:02

@lauradxoxo that’s so frustrating. I really feel your pain- just as I started treatment last year they realised that I had no rubella immunity despite have had the MMR jab as a child. I had to delay for 3months whilst I had the jabs again. This process really challenges your mental health. Can you at least carry out all your consultations etc in the meantime?

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 I spoke to a couple of clinics the last few days in England and whilst they advised everyone to be jabbed they didn’t say it a requirement. One said that partners were only allowed to attend if fully vaccinated. The one thing I was asking was whether staff running the clinic were fully vaccinated as I want to avoid delays.

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 06/01/2022 11:04

@Agapanthus13 I wonder how long it will be before that changes though, as Boris does tend to follow rather than lead. Just makes me want to push on even quicker now lol

Agapanthus13 · 06/01/2022 11:16

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 that’s a fair point! An opening evening I attended the other night they certainly recommended getting jabbed.
I did a lot of reading and spoke to my clinic when I had my jabs as was worried it might impact on treatment. They basically said to keep 7days clear between jabs & egg collection. In the end I had one 7days before egg collection and one 7days before transfer.

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 06/01/2022 17:21

Feel we all need to see this, you ladies inspire me to keep going x
