FET November/ December

Hi,

I'm not sure if there is already a thread open for a FET in November / December.

I was due to have a FET last week however after having two lining scans, I tested positive for coronavirus 🙄. I should now be having a FET after my next bleed (mid November) and hopefully a FET early December. Would be great to chat you others on a similar timeline. X

@Prayingforabubba Sounds exactly like my visit. The had the clinic telling me this morning to go to epu…
I’ll be 7+4 Wednesday so at least should get a clear answer either way.

Lilipa · 30/12/2021 13:14

@Faerun, @Agapanthus13 and @Prayingforabubba thank you very much for taking the time to write! It really helps to hear from you that I should not have expectations. Let's be honest, I had high expectations! But after reading your stories and messages I will lower my expectations for tomorrow which means I should not feel disheartened if I don't see an embryo, let alone a hb!
I'll follow your advice and only expect to see a sac, which is basically what my doctor has been telling me.

Prayingforabubba · 31/12/2021 00:57

I'm so upset! My husband had tested positive on an LFT. We've been isolating at home pretty much but did see family over Xmas. 😭

I'm going to isolate in the room but we've been together so I'm sure my positive LFT will not be far behind! So scared somethinf will happen to bubba now 🥺

@Lilipa wishing you the best for your scan tomorrow x keep us posted x

@Prayingforabubba oh no! I hope you won't test positive. But even if you do, nothing can happen to the baby, do not worry. Have you done any covid vaccination?

Thank you for the wishes. I'll let you know post the scan how it goes.

Agapanthus13 · 31/12/2021 09:07

Mornings all, so I decided to test early as we’ve friends staying the next few days & didn’t want to test the day before going back to work. BFN, not even the faintest of line. I’m totally heart broken 💔 going to call my clinic to see if I can stop taking my meds, I just cried doing my jab last night.

I’m feeling so utterly devastated to have only made 2embryos, both average/poor grade (4bc, 3bc) and for only the 3bc to survive the thaw, then to not implant. Now I have to start back at the beginning again. Any suggestions for tests, changes etc? Part of me is wondering if there any point trying again and if we do whether to change clinics?

@Prayingforabubba so sorry to hear your husband has Covid, I’ve heard of so many living together where only one catch it, so fingers crossed you’ll be ok. Hope your husband gets better soon.

@Lilipa good luck with your scan today x

@Faerun how are you doing? Hope you’re feeling better?

Agapanthus13 · 31/12/2021 09:08

@Alexm06 how are things your end? Are you still getting positives or has AF now arrived?

@lauradxoxo hope you’re doing ok lovely? X

Lilipa · 31/12/2021 11:44

@Agapanthus13 What day is it today for you? I'm really sorry it's negative, but could it be that in a couple days you get your BFP? It is devastating to see the negative, though, I know what you mean.

I had my scan this morning at 5+5 and they said it's what we expected to see; a gestational sac and a yolk sac. No embryo yet, but they could see something tiny that they said it could be the embryo.
But about 20' after the scan I started having period cramps and red bleeding. Quite a lot of bleeding but for the moment no clumps. I've just taken a paracetamol to reduce the pain. My clinic said the pains are not a good sign, however, they said that the blood could only be related to the fact that the sac is growing. It's hard for me to not relate the blood to the scan when it was right after. Also, it's hard to not think that hey... I had no symptoms and clearly that was a bad sign. Maybe I'm having an early miscarriage after all. I'm really sad but I'm trying to still remain positive that it might be nothing. I have my NHS scan on Thursday at 6+4 so I'll know more then I guess.

Prayingforabubba · 31/12/2021 12:00

@Agapanthus13 I am so so sorry. This whole journey is so rubbish. Sending hugs. I only made two embryos and they were not the best of quality . A 4BA and a 3BC. I know the 4BA is okay but we actually transferred our 3BC first ( a long story) and this is the embryo that I'm currently pregnant with so please have faith. They do say tradings are just a beauty contest ! X

@Lilipa I'm so sorry that you are bleeding. It's so terrifying, I felt heartbroken. I think it could be that your insides were irritated by the wand? They told me not to worry too much unless I'm going through a pad an hour or clots. Fingers crossed it settles and hopefully the next few days passes quickly for your next scan . X

@Faerun hope you're okay x

@Agapanthus13 I'm sorry! I completely read your message wrong! Please ignore my message to you. I thought you meant you had another 3BC left.

OP posts:
Lilipa · 31/12/2021 12:46

@prayingforabubba thank you. I'm still having red bleeding and now I am also having dark red clots.... I'm pretty sure it's a miscarriage. I won't know until after the holidays, I guess, when the clinics will open. Sad

Faerun · 31/12/2021 16:26

@Agapanthus13 I’m so sorry about the negative test. My first cycle was similar, only one blast and a very white negative, and it’s a horrible feeling. I don’t have any recommendations for protocol as we tried the same, did worse, then switched to donor (but I’m over 40). But I found it helpful to remember ivf is a treatment and sometimes it takes multiple goes.

@Lilipa Oh I’m so sorry you’re bleeding as well. It’s so hard. I wouldn’t take anything for granted, but when I had bleeding that did end in a miscarriage I spent the time waiting for the scan preparing for the worst but hoping for the best, and I found that then as well as this time round where I’m still waiting, that approach kept me a little calmer. I really hope it settles and turns out to be benign bleeding. Like others I was also told to try not to worry if it’s not filling a pad in 30-60 minutes and just monitor and see.

@Prayingforabubba I’m okay, no bleeding for 48 hours so I’m taking that as a win. How are you doing?

Alexm06 · 31/12/2021 17:35

@Lilipa god I bet it's scary. I don't really have any advice as it hasn't happened to me but just hold onto hope!
@Agapanthus13 oh I'm so sorry this journey sucks!
I'm in bloody limbo. Still getting dark lines actually decided to use one of my first responses which I haven't done in a week and it was darker then the control line so then did a digital and it was saying 2-3 weeks whereas last week was 1-2. I should really be 3+ now so yeah I'm still not holding hope.
I called EPU and she said she has no idea what's going on so that was helpful. Said the only way I could know was to have a scan so yeah have to wait for the clinic to open or I have one booked in for the 7th at EPU. I also asked her if my spotting could be the miscarriage or lack of progesterone and she said yes possibly lack of progesterone but she couldn't say either way and said she wasn't allowed to give medical advice as to whether to start my meds again so yeah I've just started back on them see how it goes haha so yeah I'm still in the world of no idea!!

Lilipa · 31/12/2021 20:08

@Faerun thank you for your message. The recurrent miscarriage clinic has changed my appointment to this Sunday so I might confirm miscarriage then.

@Alexm06 thank you for your message, as well. It must be a good sign that you're still getting strong positives. I hope the scan will show something positive for you on the 7th. It's just a week away so you'll soon know.

Faerun · 31/12/2021 20:31

@Lilipa I’m sorry, I didn’t realise you were under recurrent miscarriage. It’s good they can see you Sunday, at least less time to wait, and all fingers crossed it’s not.

Prayingforabubba · 01/01/2022 02:50

@Faerun so glad to hear you're no longer bleeding x

@Lilipa I hope Sunday will give you some clarity 🙏🏼

I've started bleeding heavily, very teeny tiny clots but it honestly feels like my body is a faucet. I know it's gone and I have to wait ten days until my scan 😞 happy new year to me!

Thanks for your kind words and reassurance. This whole journey is just so utterly painful.

@Prayingforabubba hope your bleeding stopped and everything is ok for you xxx thanks for your message, it really picked me up x Can I ask, is this your first transfer and do you know whats causing your infertility?

@Alexm06 that’s such great news you’re still getting positives. All the best for your scan x

@Lilipa good luck for Sunday x

@Faerun thank you xx I didn’t realise you were using donor eggs. Can I ask- do you get a number of eggs when using a donor?, did you do any testing etc on your eggs before choosing to switch or what was the driving factors fo consider? I’m 37 this month (was 34 when I went to my GP) and wishing we’d gone private from the outset to speed thing up. Covid has caused so many delays at our clinic.

lauradxoxo · 01/01/2022 11:10

Happy new year ladies. Sorry I’ve been quiet I’ve been really struggling the last few days over my loss 😢 to struggle with infertility for 3 years to never see a positive test then to finally get it abs have it taken away a week later it’s breaking my heart 💔

@Agapanthus13 awww I am so sorry to hear your news lovely the process is awful 😢 is this your first cycle?

@Alexm06 awww this is amazing news! Sounds like you pregnancy is progressing nicely! So happy for you since you had a chemical previously. Keeping my fingers crossed for you xx

@Lilipa @Prayingforabubba I am so sorry to hear you left both bleeding but please try not to panic. You have both had scans and all looks ok so far. Loads of ladies have bleeding abs have perfectly healthy pregnancies. Will be thinking of you both. Xxx

Faerun · 01/01/2022 13:38

@Prayingforabubba I’m sorry you’re bleeding again. Can you get your scan moved any earlier or is that as early as it can be? I had mine moved by a week when I spoke to the clinic, but I wasn’t booked until 8 weeks originally.

@Agapanthus13 We went with a frozen egg bank, so you pay for a set number of eggs (though you sometimes get more if they have extras). I don’t know how it works with fresh. We didn’t do any testing as such, my amh and fsh were really good for my age, but twice the follicles to eggs to blasts conversion rate was poor, and with my age and the fact we knew it wasn’t male factor, we felt egg quality was the obvious answer. I tried all the supplements with no improvement as well. That said donor eggs haven’t been a magic bullet, we only got two blasts, both worked, one was a miscarriage and the second is what I’m currently pregnant with, but with the bleeding I’ve had not feeling so positive. It’s also eye wateringly expensive so at 37 I’d definitely consider other things first.

Alexm06 · 01/01/2022 21:20

@Lilipa @Agapanthus13 @lauradxoxo thanks for your positive thinking but yeah I'm thinking it's just the same as the missed miscarriage last year. I wasn't testing as much nor did I have blood tests so I wouldn't have known it went down but yeah I've had a read and haven't seen any good outcomes from it. Hopefully my clinic can scan me on the 4th or before the hospitals scan on the 7th.
@Lilipa has the bleeding stopped now?
@lauradxoxo hope you are in a better place now. I know how devastating chemicals and miscarriages are.
@Agapanthus13 how are you holding up? Have you thought anymore into what you may do next time?

Lilipa · 02/01/2022 13:19

I just had the scan and unfortunately they could not detect the sac anymore. I must have miscarried at 5 weeks 5 days when I was bleeding.
I only bled for half a day on Friday and had period cramps. Unfortunately there are still some remaining tissue in the womb so I'm waiting to hear my options. I've already had 3 D&C before due to miscarriages so I was hoping I don't need one now.... I hope I can avoid it.

Happy New year to me Sad

Faerun · 02/01/2022 13:43

@Lilipa I’m so sorry. That’s such awful news, I was hoping so hard for you. Lots of thoughts to you, and hope you can manage with medical rather than surgical if you need intervention.

Prayingforabubba · 02/01/2022 16:09

@Agapanthus13 we have male factor infertility.

@lauradxoxo so sorry you're dealing with this. Have you thought about next steps? It helps me personally to have a plan x

@Faerun my scan is for 7+1 , I might just leave it until then as it should be a definitive answer at that point 😩

@Lilipa I'm so sorry. I was really rooting for you. Sending hugs x

Alexm06 · 02/01/2022 17:27

@Lilipa I'm so sorry I'm expecting the same when I have a scan. But then I have mentally prepared myself for it so god knows how you are feeling. Take some time for yourself and to get yourself back together. We are all so strong to go through what we have to go through x

Agapanthus13 · 02/01/2022 19:28

@Lilipa I’m so sorry to read this. Sending lots of hugs xxx this journey is so unbelievably cruel.

Agapanthus13 · 02/01/2022 19:29

@Faerun thanks for sharing, that’s really helpful. When is your scan booked in for? I’m really rooting for you x

@lauradxoxo how are you doing lovely? Hope you’re being well looked after and taking the time you need to grieve xx

@Alexm06 I’m feeling a little brighter today thank you. I’ve starting looking into possibly changing clinics and seeing if I can have my tube unblocked to increase our chances naturally. I’m finding planning the next round is helping xx hope you’re getting on ok waiting to speak to your clinic for scan dates?
