Hi,

I'm not sure if there is already a thread open for a FET in November / December.

I was due to have a FET last week however after having two lining scans, I tested positive for coronavirus 🙄. I should now be having a FET after my next bleed (mid November) and hopefully a FET early December. Would be great to chat you others on a similar timeline. X

@lauradxoxo I am truly sorry and so hope that this has not happened and that you instead had a healthy pregnancy. It will come, though, very soon!!
I had chemical in my October try, and the period came 3 days after I stopped the pills. They say within 2 weeks max it should come.

Alexm06 · 28/12/2021 17:42

@lauradxoxo oh I'm so sorry to hear this! Sorry I took myself away from the chats so only just a notification when you tagged me. It's such a cruel journey and I'm so so sorry. I'm guessing mine isn't a chemical as I'm still getting positives I've been testing every other day to see when I will start bleeding and to make sure my lines getting lighter but it's not. Just staying the same. I will be doing one tomorrow morning which I think will be lighter as I've had a bit of spotting today so I'm assuming it will happen soon. I stopped my meds on Thursday. On my last chemical my period came 2 days later. Obviously not this time as my body is still on pregnancy mode and my boobs are bloody killing. I just want to move on now and get started at a new clinic. Hope your ok x

lauradxoxo · 28/12/2021 17:55

@Lilipa thank you. I’m hoping I’m like yourself and have a successful pregnancy on my next round. This is all so tough. The BFNs are hard enough to take but to get strong BFPs to this has just been so heartbreaking.

@Alexm06 have you had more bloods done? If your still getting postive tests is there not still a chance this could be a viable pregnancy?

@Prayingforabubba please do not panic! My best friend had bright red blood throughout her whole pregnancy and she had a perfectly healthy 3 year old! Let us know how you get on xxxxxxx

Faerun · 28/12/2021 17:57

@Prayingforabubba I’m so sorry, it’s horrible when that happens. All fingers crossed for you that everything is okay! Mine was about like the start of a period, but I’ve also heard of people with much worse where it’s been okay. Strength to you and hope you get a scan.

Faerun · 28/12/2021 17:59

@lauradxoxo You don’t need to pull yourself together right away. Take the time you need, it’s an awful process and it’s okay to hurt when things like this happens.

Alexm06 · 28/12/2021 18:02

@lauradxoxo no I haven't I just accepted I was out. And I'm defo not going to get my hopes up at all I know it's gone but yeah I'm unsure as to why I'm still having the positives I'm just assuming it wasn't a chemical and just a standard miscarriage. But yeah with the spotting today I think it must be coming.
Hope your alright. Have you got any plans to start again? I feel that helped me when I booked in at the new clinic as I had something to look forward to. I know not everyone's the same so it may not be right for you x

Agapanthus13 · 28/12/2021 19:18

@Prayingforabubba thinking of you and hope you’re doing ok. Fingers crossed you managed to have a scan to see what’s going on xxx

@Alexm06 have you managed to speak to your clinic re the continued positives? May I ask how faint your lines are? It sounds so tough x

@lauradxoxo - keep thinking of you. Your time will come, hang on in there, it’s just devastating after the joy of receiving your positive xx I’m doing ok thanks. I’m on 6dpt today and quite happy not testing / not knowing - I just don’t want it to end. Xx

Agapanthus13 · 28/12/2021 19:19

@Lilipa @Faerun how are you both getting on? Do you have your scans booked for jan? X

Alexm06 · 28/12/2021 19:33

@Agapanthus13 no once I got my low HCG level I stopped all my meds and then they closed. They don't open again until the 4th. If I haven't had a bleed by then (I think I will with the spotting today) then I'll speak to them again. I ended up doing one this eve as because I'm spotting it would 100% be lighter but yeah I'll attach a picture. How are you getting on?

FET November/ December
Prayingforabubba · 28/12/2021 19:58

Thanks ladies.

The blood has now reduced and now brown.
A&E couldn't do much. EPU will contact me tomorrow and I'm hoping they will scan me. I'm so drained mentally. It's so unfair for us isn't it, after years and years of infertility, to get a bfp and then potentially get it snatched away.

@Alexm06 that line looks just like mine from this morning! I would definitely get another beta if you can? I'm 5+3 today so would we be at a similar stage?

Lilipa · 28/12/2021 20:13

@alexm06 I think it will be good if you have a scan or at least report to them that you have still positive tests. Especially the last one you've posted is so strong! I know you don't have expectations but I'm really hoping that your baby is still there and strong!

@lauradxoxo Once you've become pregnant, your body knows and can repeat it more than once. Next time will be your lucky one!

@Agapanthus13 I'm having a private scan this Friday which is to confirm that this is not an ectopic pregnancy and I have gotten booked a scan in St Thomas on the 6th of January as early scan, hoping to see a heartbeat then. Fingers crossed it's all well!
How are you doing?

Agapanthus13 · 28/12/2021 20:22

@Alexm06 i see what you mean, today’s is a pretty dark line too. My clinic have an emergency phone line you can call on days they’re closed, perhaps just double check incase yours have one too.

Regarding symptoms - not sure if it’s of any help, but I asked my Dr if there was a difference between a chemical & a miscarriage and she said no, she called it a biochemical and said it’s the same an early miscarriage?? hang on in there, sounds like you’re having a tough time xx
I’m doing ok thanks. I’ve got zero desire to test and with all the distractions of Xmas times going ok.

Can I ask- has anyone injected lubion into the thigh? My tummy is getting a bit sore so thinking of swapping but a bit nervous of the change?

Agapanthus13 · 28/12/2021 20:51

Also- did anyone else’s partners get to join for the transfer? Mine didn’t and im guessing it was due to Covid ie keeping numbers down, but I keep feeling bad he didn’t get to ask about the embryo that didn’t survive the thaw. He’s been so excluded throughout the process- it must be so hard on them too.

Prayingforabubba · 28/12/2021 21:08

@Agapanthus13 you've done so well not testing!

My husband was allowed in the clinic but not in the room while I had the transfer x

Another bright red bleed for me last night, this one heavier and took longer to stop, and with cramps as well. Going to try and see if epu will see me again. Really not feeling positive at all about this.

@Prayingforabubba Good luck today with epu

Lilipa · 29/12/2021 10:05

@faerun I'm so sorry Sad I read hope it will all go well in the end.

Prayingforabubba · 29/12/2021 12:40

@Faerun ugh how stressful! Hoping EPU will see you today 🙏🏼 x

OP posts:
Faerun · 29/12/2021 14:22

Epu wouldn’t see me so have to wait for clinic scan next week. Feel like a bit of a nervous wreck.

@Prayingforabubba How did things go for you?

Lilipa · 30/12/2021 08:07

I have my scan tomorrow at 5+5, however, I'm not sure it was the right decision to book it. I have NHS scan next Thursday at 6+4 and we have more probability to see something there. I started having some light symptoms last week but this week I don't feel pregnant at all so I'm worrying that there is nothing there that has grown. And the scan tomorrow will confirm that, however, the doctors are still going to tell me that it was too early to see something anyway so it is not certain that it's over. All in all, I'm starting to think the private scan I've booked for tomorrow is a waste of money and perhaps I should cancel it and only have the one NHS offered next Thursday. And if things are still vague next Thursday I can then book a scan for the week after. My husband on the other side really wants us to have a scan tomorrow (he can be in with me for that one in this clinic) but of course he does not have the same stress I'm going through. Not sure what to do!

Faerun · 30/12/2021 09:04

@Lilipa Depends on what you’re hoping for from the scan? If you just want to check that it’s not ectopic and that there is something there you should see a sac at that stage as long as hcg is high enough. You’re really unlikely to see a heartbeat.
I’ve found that having a scan at 5+3 was really reassuring as I was worried about ectopic or chemical (but I only had it because of bleeding), but with more bleeding less so as you can’t see ‘signs of life’ if that makes sense.

Agapanthus13 · 30/12/2021 09:32

Morning @Lilipa I’ve not got to that stage before but if I get a positive at the end of my 2ww then my clinic book mr in for scan for 4weeks later ie at 6weeks which is only 2days later than you have booked for tomorrow. As such, as says, they must be able to see a few thing. I’d have a good chat with your husband, I expect he’s worried about not being with you to support you for your scan next week if you cancel tomorrow.

@Faerun how are you doing today? Do you have a date for your scan?
@Prayingforabubba Hope things are a little better your end today? Has your bleeding stopped? X

Prayingforabubba · 30/12/2021 10:42

@Faerun so sorry EPU cannot see you. I don't think they always empathise. I actually feel numb and traumatised from being there yesterday . A poor woman was screaming and crying hysterically in one of the rooms. I cannot imagine what she was going through but I suspect it was bad news. How is your bleeding? Reduced I hope?

@Lilipa I had my scan yesterday at EPU at 5+4. I could see a yolk sac and gestational sac. She couldn't see a fetal pole but said that it is still early. I'll be honest, I wasn't fully at ease after the scan but I know it is so early to see anything more. At 6w+ you should definitely see a hb x I think of you do go tomorrow, just know it may be very little that you can see but you may see more than me as you will be a day ahead.

@Agapanthus13 thankfully after that evening of red blood. It's stopped and I have some brown spotting. Nothing this morning. The lady at EPU said it could be due to the progesterone as no cause could be seen on the scan.

I feel a bit better overall- I didn't test today- just need January 10th could hurry up!

Faerun · 30/12/2021 10:43

@Agapanthus13 I’m okay thank you. Had more bleeding yesterday but not so far today. Scan is Wednesday next week which feels very far. How’s your wait going?

Faerun · 30/12/2021 10:50

@Prayingforabubba Glad to hear you had your scan! It sounds a lot like my first one, reassuring to a point, just limited by being early. Have they booked you for a follow up or leaving it for clinic scan?
I get why they wouldn’t see me again, but I do think they ‘cop out’ a little with ivf pregnancies as they rely on the clinic scan - or at least my epu does. Once they’ve ruled out ectopic, they’re a lot more selective about seeing you.
It’s not a nice place to go, I agree, though I couldn’t fault them last time when we had bad news, they managed it very well and most were kind and empathetic.

Prayingforabubba · 30/12/2021 12:09

@Faerun I definitely agree! EPU and the doctor at a & e couldn't understand why my clinic wouldn't see me and tried to get me to go there 🙄 they did agree to scan me but have said to follow up with the clinic. She did say to contact them
If I bleed heavily or have clots.

How far along will you be next Wednesday?
