FET November/ December

Hi,

I'm not sure if there is already a thread open for a FET in November / December.

I was due to have a FET last week however after having two lining scans, I tested positive for coronavirus 🙄. I should now be having a FET after my next bleed (mid November) and hopefully a FET early December. Would be great to chat you others on a similar timeline. X

@Prayingforabubba did they give you a reason why they transferred a 'worse graded' embryo ahead of a better graded one? I've not heard of clinics doing that unless specifically asked.

My recent transfer that was a chemical was a euploid 5CB. For un-tested embryos, morphology somewhat maps to ploidy so they are simply less likely to have the right amount of chromosomes. But they TOTALLY can do, its just a bit less likely. In my case I tested to be sure, and sure enough my two worse-ranked were the only ones that were chromosomally normal! Sadly it was still a chemical, there are two studies with fairly large sample size that show that 'average, fair, or excellent' euploid embryos all have a similar chance of working (50-75%ish), but that ones with C in the grading are more around 30-35%. So still a good chance. Also, every lab and embryologist could rank embryos slightly different so its not foolproof to base off those studies anyway. But even going off of them, 30-35% is a decent chance, and lots of ladies on this forum have posted success with embryos that were rated with the ICM or TC as 'C' :)

tulipsandsnow · 10/12/2021 08:26

Sorry last sentence should say 'TE' not 'TC', TE = outer layer of embryo that will turn into placenta, ICM = inner cell mass

lauradxoxo · 10/12/2021 14:08

Hi girls! I’m just back from my embryo transfer went well! Although my best quality embryo was a 5AA and after the thaw was a 3AB today.

Does by one know why the grading can reduce after thaw? Could this affect my chances?

@Lilipa did you transfer today too? Xxxx

Agapanthus13 · 10/12/2021 15:11

Sounds like lots of transfers yesterday, how exciting!! @lauradxoxo @Alexm06 @coffee1988 I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for you all (and anyone else I’ve missed!) Hope you’re all feeling well?

@CharlieBalf how are you feeling today? I had my first lining scan yesterday too but I’m only at 5.7mm so quite a bit behind you. Can I ask how many days you’ve been taking your meds for? Yesterday was cd8 for me. They’ve upped my estradiol to 8mg and I go back for another scan on Tuesday. Feeling absolutely shattered too. I actually feel asleep in my lunch break yesterday which was embarrassing and ended taking today off which has helped. X

Lilipa · 10/12/2021 16:43

@lauradxoxo yes, I also did my embryo transfer today. Will do a progesterone test on Monday and the beta-HCG on the 20th.
What about you?

I did not know the blastocyst can worsen after the thaw. I didn't even ask, actually and they didn't tell me at my clinic what was the grade of my embryo. I'll call them on Monday to ask as my blastocyst was also 5AA and I had not thought it could worsen. I'll let you know what they say.

When are you testing? Did you transfer one embryo?
I transferred just one blastocyst to such I've done PGS and is healthy. Smile

Good luck to everyone else who've transferred today or any previous days!

lauradxoxo · 10/12/2021 17:35

@Lilipa congratulations on your transfer! Glad it went well! Yeah I didn’t know they could worsen either! I didn’t even ask my clinic it’s just when i went in for the transfer I seen the grade on the form I had to sign! I’m not worrying about it at all though I don’t think grading aftually is the deciding factor of whether it implants or not!

My OTD is 22nd but there’s no way I’m Gona make it to then! I’m Gona test a week today! Xxxxx

Lilipa · 10/12/2021 17:43

@lauradxoxo I agree with you, the grading will not make a difference. Fingers crossed we both have positive news and a wonderful Xmas gift, a positive beta!
Are you planning to test with a home pregnancy test or do a beta hCG earlier?

I did pregnancy test last time I did a transfer and it was positive but my beta was negative...so I've decided not to take a home test this time since it gave me false hope.

lauradxoxo · 10/12/2021 17:57

@Lilipa I know I’m praying for us both it would be the best Christmas present ever!!

My clinic don’t do Betas so it’s just a home pregnancy test for me. My last time I started bleeding 7dpt so I’m Gona test early this time as I didn’t even get the chance to take a test last time! Plus I know there’s no way I can wait almost 2 weeks 🤣 xxxxx

CharlieBalf · 10/12/2021 18:01

@Agapanthus13 omg I'm so tired too... Must be a common side effect? Once they upped the meds i also got really woozy but much better now on day2 of increased dose.

My first scan was d11 at 6mg and ive been upped to 12mg for five days.

5.6 at 8days is pretty good! You should have no problems getting to 8. Have the clinic given you an estimated transfer date?

Alexm06 · 10/12/2021 20:06

@lauradxoxo @Lilipa congrats on the transfers!! Hopefully won't be a long 2ww but I guess we're all in the wait together haha.

Question for everyone. What Vitamins have you guys taken after embryo transfer. I'm still taking all of the same ones I took before my transfer (vit d and e, pregnacare l-arginine) I'm not sure if I need to stop taking any of them or just to keep going?

Agapanthus13 · 10/12/2021 20:59

@CharlieBalf 7mm on d11 sounds really good! Are you doing anything in addition to taking the meds? Glad you’re feeling a little better after the woozy spells, I know others on here have said they felt a little funny on the pills too. I just hadn’t expected too.
I’ve got my next scan Tuesday & they said a 3rd scan likely the end of next week and proving linings thick enough a transfer 21st/22nd. Last day for transfer is 22nd then they close for Xmas. The nurse seemed pretty chilled by the dates etc so I’m following her lead 😂 How about you? Have you any idea on likely transfer dates?

CharlieBalf · 10/12/2021 21:32

@Alexm06 im also taking pregnacare, a woman multi vit, extra folic acid and ive cut caffeine (obvs not had my transfer yet but ill stay on the same) Also eating lots of dark leafy greens, red meat and eggs although i had pizza last weekend 😬

@Agapanthus13 i also have a scan on Tuesday! Doc said a provisional transfer for the 21st, we could be transfer twins 🤗 Last date for my clinic is the 23rd.
Yes, feeling so much better! Think it took me a day to acclimatise to the dose it was quite the jump in meds.

Agapanthus13 · 10/12/2021 22:43

@Alexm06 I was wondering the same! I decided people who get pregnant naturally probably don’t know they’re pregnant for the first 3weeks so decided carrying on with the pre-pregnancy vitamins should be ok. Might ask at my next appointment though. Hope you’re doing ok!

@CharlieBalf ohh does sound like we’re on similar time lines!! That’s exciting! Sounds like you’re being super healthy, inspiring me to make more of an effort…

I keep reading that ‘moderate exercise’ is encouraged, but does anyone know if more intense exercise is ok? I tend to go to spin a few times a week and wondering if I should pause for a few weeks or carry it on? Google’s not giving me much info tonight which probably means I’m over worrying?!

coffee1988 · 11/12/2021 15:06

@CharlieBalf @Agapanthus13 your lining scans sound good! It took me to cd 19 to get to 8.6 but we got there in the end.

How is everyone in their tww getting along? I’m on day 2 and frantically watching for symptoms but feel so damn normal it’s hard to imagine anything could possibly be happening. All you you who’ve had bfps before, can I ask how soon did your symptoms start!? If they did at all that is…?

coffee1988 · 11/12/2021 15:09

@Agapanthus13 I was told to take it easy for the first few days after transfer as that’s when implantation happens. So I’m just dog walking and pottering around. Then I think you can go back to normal. I think the only thing to be careful of is getting too hot so maybe don’t go full pelt with the spinning. That said people get pregnant without realising living their lives normally so you probably shouldn’t worry too much.

CharlieBalf · 11/12/2021 15:20

@coffee1998 its so hard to think about anything else during the TWW- i had no symptoms that anything had worked with my bfp. I started to get to get twinges around 6/7 weeks when i first saw the midwife but nothing which would indicate implantation.
I had a 2ab transferred so probably took the little guy a few more days to get there. I remember the line on the test being faint at 13dp5dt.
Mostly i tried to take it real easy- early bed, comedies on the tv, warm feet and no hot baths. @Agapanthus13 i was told no strenuous exercise and i probably wouldn't go spinning if it were me BUT i dont tend to go to exercise classes or run or do much spon like activities anyway. Of its normal for you do what you feel comfortable with ☺️

lauradxoxo · 11/12/2021 16:45

@coffee1988 I am only 1dpt and I’m sending myself crazy already! Trying to look out for any possible twinge like in totally imaging it when nothings happening! Don’t know how il hey last the next 11 days!

@CharlieBalf have you had a successful pregnancy with ivf before? Xxxx

CharlieBalf · 11/12/2021 20:25

@lauradxoxo Yes hun ☺️ I had a fresh transfer January 2020 and had a healthy baby boy. We'd been trying for 7 years, got pregnant three times on meds but lost all three around 12 weeks. Also got six in the freezer from the first round - all grade 2BBs.

This is the first time ive done a FET- all different meds this time apart from lubion which i was on last time too.

How about you? X

lauradxoxo · 11/12/2021 20:30

Awww that’s amazing congratulations on your healthy baby boy! I don’t have any in trying for number 1 have been trying for 3 years got referred to ivf after finding out we have MFI. First round was a fresh 5AA in September and was a BFN. Got 3 frozen so just transferred the first one yesterday! I’m only 1 day past and finding the wait so hard! I have zero symptoms!

Also hate the Lubion injections find them painful. Plus I ran out of needles so went to clinic today to collect more and they told me they had changed them and the new needle is double in size 😭 I didn’t think I could hate them anymore🤣

How you coping with the wait so far? Xxxxx

lauradxoxo · 11/12/2021 20:31

@CharlieBalf and I’m really sorry to hear about your losses how hard that must have been at 12 weeks 😭 xxxxx

coffee1988 · 12/12/2021 10:15

3dpt today and no signs at all. I know it’s so so early and I prob wouldn’t have symptoms yet anyway but desperate for some sort of sign that’s it’s worked. I have a horrible gut feeling it hasn’t. How are the rest of you in the tww?

Alexm06 · 12/12/2021 10:33

@coffee1988 Im the same no signs really have a few twinges but on my other cycles I've been a lot more crampy not that they have worked haha. I just wanna know now if it's worked so I can move onto another clinic and start a new fresh cycle. Hope you get some positives signs!

Agapanthus13 · 12/12/2021 11:25

@coffee1988 thanks, I think I remember reading about not getting too hot before actually, but then forgot! Might have to give up the hot water bottle I take to bed each night too 🙄
How are you doing today? Try not to stress yourself too much looking for signs, you’re still so early post transfer. Can you try and distract yourself by doing some nice things? Easier said than done I’m sure!!

Thank you @CharlieBalf i decided to give spin a miss this morning as I was beyond shattered again (you feeling any more energised?) then think I’ll see how I feel going forward and tone it down in the lead up to having transfer & chill over Xmas.
That’s so lovely to hear you have a little boy from perilous ivf 🥰 May I ask whether you had to have a particular gap between giving birth and starting ivf again? It must be tough having Ivf with a little one to care for too? That’s an amazing number of embies to have on ice! I’ve only got two which feels sooo few compared to everyone I chat with. This is my first transfer as my fresh got cancelled. We’ve been trying for 4years so pinning a lot of hope on this working.

So sorry to read of your previous losses, that’s heartbreaking, especially at 12weeks. It sounds like you’ve been on a long journey xx

@lauradxoxo congratulations on your transfer 💕how are you feeling today? Hope you’re taking it easy! The 2ww sounds like torture, hope you’re managing to keep yourself busy. What date have you been given to test on?

@Alexm06 hope you’re feeling well too x

Lilipa · 12/12/2021 12:21

I'm freaking out, hope any of you can help. I feel asleep last night and therefore missed talking my estradiol and progesterone tablets. I woke up in the middle of the night and took them. That was 5 hours later than I should have taken them. Could this have impacted possible implantation? I'm 2days past my FET.

lauradxoxo · 12/12/2021 15:33

@coffee1988 @Alexm06 in the same I have ZERO symptoms! I feel completely normal! I know I’m super early only 2dpt and my embie probs hasn’t even implanted yet (it it’s Gona!) but I’ve read on here so many other posters saying they have experienced cramping headaches etc immediately after transfer and I literally feel nothing. But not Gona stress just relaxing and what will be will be ❤️

@Agapanthus13 thank you lovely! I feel totally fine! No symptoms at all 😭 OTD is 22nd but I’m defo Gona test early probably Saturday! Are you back in on Tuesday for scan?

@Lilipa I wouldn’t stress my clinic didn’t specify that they had to be taken at the same time every day. I have been taking mine roughly the same time but I don’t think a few hours late one time will make much of a difference. As long as your body is being topped up daily with the medication that’s the main thing xxx
