October FET- Cycle buddies?

J2020m · 25/09/2021 21:02

Hi Smile
I started my stims on Wednesday as the beginning of my long protocol for my FET.

I am looking at end of October for my transfer 🤞🏻

I have PCOS and had ISCI for our treatment.
We have 4 blastocysts frozen!

Looking for any cycle buddies that are transferring around the same time 🙏

@LemonyT they told me at my clinic to test on Friday so probably you could test earlier than Sunday!

Alexm06 · 18/10/2021 20:04

@LemonyT haha it's not something I've heard. My test date is Saturday. So weird how we all transferred on the same day but all have different test dates. I will probably
Hold out still Saturday as I'm off this weekend so don't wanna test before I go into work would rather do it when I have the day off incase i need to cry all day haha

Lilipa · 18/10/2021 20:50

@Alexm06 very strange that we all have different dates even though we had the transfer the same date and it was with 5 day embryos. It would make sense if one of us had 3 day embryo. I would probably hold off testing when the clinic advised for. The worry will not go away anyway. I'm currently having quite intense period cramps so I'm worried. Even with positive results, we can never know if things will progress.
@Alexm06 and @LemonyT is that your first IVF attempt?

Lola98 · 18/10/2021 20:55

Hi I hope you don’t mind me jumping in. I am currently stimulating and have 2nd scan on Wednesday. I have had 2 previous failed cycles, I am 42 so this will be our final round. Did any of you isolate during your treatment? I am a bit worried about covid as I work in a university and around students. I am not sure how to ask for isolation as no one is aware that i am going through ivf. Thanks

LemonyT · 19/10/2021 12:26

Hi @Lola98 good luck for your scan. I’ve asked my manager if I can wfh- is that something you can do? However don’t want to reveal why either! But if pregnant I’m def gonna push as I don’t want to take any risks! Have had 2 (early) losses myself - 1 fresh 1 fet. @Lilipa not my first attempt I’ve had two rounds of ivf and three transfers including this one. The early implantation thing was just something I read on a thread - so have no idea as to how credible it actually is!

Lola98 · 19/10/2021 12:44

@LemonyT thank you 😊 I hope my eggs are better quality this time as I seem to get a lot of eggs but not an lot make it past day 3. I am currently doing blended working but they want us in to the office 2 days a week. If by a miracle ivf does work then I am defo going to wfh. I am sorry to hear about your losses, this is our third round. First 2 didn’t implant and we had no frosties. I am having a fet again if we have any blastocysts x

Azahar8 · 19/10/2021 20:23

@Alexm06 @LemonyT @Lilipa I'm glad your transfers went well, it's funny you had them on the same day! Fingers crossed for a BFP!!

@J2020m @Sweet211 Good luck for your lining scans this week!

I had my third baseline scan after almost 4 weeks of downregulation and I was finally given the green light to start estrogen. Did any of you get side effects from it? I have a horrible headache today but I might just be tired from work...

Sweet211 · 19/10/2021 21:55

Hi @Azahar8 thanks for the response I’ve had headaches too stomach cramps too are you on 3 tablets a day? I just started oestrogen last week. Which clinic are you with if you don’t mind me asking

Alexm06 · 20/10/2021 07:32

@Lilipa this would be my 4th transfer 1st ended in a missed miscarriage and the other 2 failed. How about you?
Yeah I'm not testing until test day as I'm off and off the day after too. But yeah I'm not positive as the 2 embryos was transferred on cycle day 32!

@LemonyT how you getting on?

Lilipa · 20/10/2021 11:04

@Alexm06 This will be my first transfer. But I've had 3 miscarriages previously following natural conception.
This morning I took another pregnancy test (2 days before my blood test date) and the line was even more faint than the one on Monday. So I'm starting to worry and prepare myself that the implantation might not have gone that well afterall Sad

LemonyT · 20/10/2021 11:55

@Lilipa I’m so sorry to hear this! I have everything crossed for you! And hope it’s just a case of less dye in the test/ you’re more hydrated. Have you had any tests for any clues why you’ve had successive mcs? If you had 3 before you should be entitled to testing with NHS? I’ve been through hcg hell so understand how awful it is.

@Alexm06 I’m alright- I keep thinking I’m having symptoms but then they disappear, leaving me to wonder if i imagined them in the first place! I had some cramping yesterday- not sure if that’s a good or bad thing Confused how are you getting on?

Good luck for those of you having scans this week!

Lilipa · 20/10/2021 12:46

@LemonyT thank you! My 3 recurrent miscarriages were due to random chromosomal abnormalities for each of the embryos. DH and I have done all the caryotype testings and all is clear our end. They say we were just very unlucky. Before my recurrent miscarriages I had a daughter who's now 3.5 years old so we know we can have healthy babies. In order to tackle our issue we decided to go with IVF option and did pre genetic screening (PGS) to the blastocysts in order to keep just the healthy ones. So we got 4 healthy embryos and this is my first transfer. Since the line is so faint (and got fainter after 2 days rather than darker) I don't expect to get a positive result on blood test on Friday but I'll keep you posted. :(

FETOCT2021 · 20/10/2021 14:20

Hi, can I join?

I had a ruptured ectopic in 2016 (fallopian tube removed). Then I had a couple of years of trying with no luck. Had ivf in jan 2019, got two embryos, one fresh put back and one frozen. The first one very luckily stuck and I have a wonderful 2 year old. I’m now doing a natural FET, just waiting for a positive ovulation test.

The clinic have given me progesterone to take two days after my positive opk, they’ve not said why I should take it, they just said it’s up to me so I’m not sure if I should take it or not 😬

Also my lining was 6.5 on day 11 so I’m a bit concerned that’s too low. The nurse said she wasn’t concerned though

LemonyT · 20/10/2021 19:19

@FETOCT2021 welcome! I wouldn’t worry too much if your nurse is happy. I imagine the lining will still thicken and I think anything above 7 is optimal! So you’re almost there?

Silly question but what are you ladies doing re hot showers in the 2ww? I know I can’t have a bath, but with the cold weather I’m really having trouble not turning my shower on high! I try to keep it no longer than necessary but I tend to have a short quick shower in the morning and a slightly longer wash in the eve. I might be paranoid but every time I’m always aware of how warm I’m getting! is this something you guys are weary of?

Lilipa · 20/10/2021 19:42

@LemonyT with all of my pregnancies I've taken very hot showers (can't deal with mild temperature, feel it's cold!) and it all went well. Doctors are talking about baths and not showers, so I guess there's a reason for this. Wink

FETOCT2021 · 21/10/2021 10:03

@LemonyT thankyou. I’ve just got a positive ovulation test this morning so I’m hoping my lining has thickened since Monday but I guess I’ll never know which is annoying.

Re hot baths, I thought I’d was just things like jacuzzis we should avoid as they stay hot we as baths cool down as you sit in them? Could be wrong though.

Either way in my last tww/pregnancy I avoided baths, I think it’s always best to be a bit cautious. I always had nice hot showers though

LemonyT · 22/10/2021 14:35

@Lilipa how are you holding up hun?

Lilipa · 22/10/2021 14:52

@LemonyT I did a pregnancy test again this morning (9 days post blastocyst transfer) and it was positive but still faint line. I had my blood tests taken this morning but they said the results will be back either after 5pm today or tomorrow morning...big wait for me!

LemonyT · 22/10/2021 15:33

I have everything crossed for you!

Alexm06 · 22/10/2021 17:37

I also did a test as it's exactly a year since we found out about the miscarriage so we thought it's a shit day anyway if it's bad news it's still a shit day and yeah it was negative but I knew it it was way too late in my cycle so I actually think I'm taking it well but now we have to pay for all future cycles. I'll do another test with my morning wee but yeah I know the outcome.
Hope you all get better news

J2020m · 22/10/2021 17:46

Hi all,
Hoping you're all feeling okay!!! Sounds like lots of you are testing this weekend so really hope its successful for you!
I had my lining scan today and its 7mm and still have a week to go so they're happy!
Luckily, I have now finished for half term so I can fully relax before and after! X

LemonyT · 22/10/2021 18:15

@Alexm06 Flowers so sorry it’s not better news :( it sucks. I wish you better luck in your next cycle - I’m paying for my current cycle (and any future ones too). So yeah…I understand it’s just another twist of the knife in an already sore wound.

@J2020m great news about your lining! And nice you can put your feet up until transfer day!

Sweet211 · 23/10/2021 05:06

Hi @J2020m what cycle day will they be doing your transfer? My scans today so kinda together

Alexm06 · 23/10/2021 09:03

Ok guys so I did a test this morning with a clear blue (same as yesterday evenings one) and I saw a very very faint line so thought oh it's an evaporation line but i went out to get some first responses just to put my mind at ease and there is a very very faint line as well. Now I'm guessing it must be a chemical as it's should be darker by now? I've never had a chemical so I'm not really to sure what it looks like? I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

LemonyT · 23/10/2021 15:03

I hope it’s one of the outliers where it’s implanted late!!

So much uncertainty at the moment on this thread so I wasn’t sure about this, but this morning I took a test and it was +ve.
Being cautiously optimistic as both my previous transfers have also been +ve but didn’t end well. Blood test early next week and been booked for a scan on 11 Nov. So the wait continues!
