@Iwouldlikesomecake also I would have thought with private the weight criteria is less stringent? You might be in luck!

I also can relate to the stress of it all. For me, the biggest stress is all the waiting and there nothing you can do to influence the outcome. What helped for me is distraction, theatre, meals out, long walks. Fingers crossed for your next round.

Iwouldlikesomecake · 07/05/2022 13:23

Sorry for the misread of the price increase, you’re right- every little counts doesn’t it when it’s all so expensive.

We aren’t waiting for the follow up- we just needed a bit of time. We always said we would only have one round. Weight wise I’ve got a long way to go till the weight thing becomes an issue- just for me I’ve put on weight and I need to reverse the trend now, for me more than anything else.

I had my initial tests on the nhs then was told my AMH was too low hence not eligible for ivf- but the hospital I had it done at wouldn’t give me the results on paper so I couldn’t use them anywhere else. Which was annoying.

Verbena87 · 09/05/2022 21:26

Can I tentatively dip in?

I’m a bit of an oddity in that we’re fertile but husband has a genetic condition, so we were offered ivf with PGD on the NHS to avoid passing it on. Had our cycle with Guys in 2016 and was ridiculously lucky that it worked first time and we had 3 embryos unaffected by the gene left over.

I did 2 FET cycles last year, both of which looked great in terms of lining etc, and both of which failed. Am planning to transfer our last embryo with my next cycle and feeling really wobbly about it - we can’t afford a round with PGD and I’m not sure I want to spend big chunks of my 4-year-old’s childhood on the ivf treadmill anyway, but the finality of it all feels crushing.

Hi @Verbena87 welcome to the group. It's quite dead here as most people are waiting for follow ups so I wouldn't expect too many responses I'm afraid.

I'm sorry to hear your transfers failed. Fingers crossed your next transfer will work. Are they changing anhtjng?

Welshpea · 10/05/2022 08:53

Hi everyone new to the group! There were loads of us in previous posts/ groups so this is all a positive thing for guys as out of our group there has been a high percentage of successes !!

Sod's law means i've come on my period early so I have emailed to see if my first scan is okay or needs to be rescheduled ! but equally excited to start oestrogen today - i feel like my official countdown begins again

Hope everyone is okay and enjoying the better weather

thislittlebird · 10/05/2022 17:55

I typed out this whole reply and then lost it ughhhhh. Here's a quick version.

@IE00 I'll definitely ask the consultant when I speak to them about a good time to do it. It's probably too soon after fail one, I suppose.

@Iwouldlikesomecake I'm not sure if they'll let me do consultant led for only a transfer, not sure if you need to start from scratch with a whole cycle. I'm also having wait issues, my BMI is ok, but I weigh a stone or more than I should/would like. I've started working out every day for 20 mins because I have a holiday coming up, but will try to continue it before the next FET.

@Verbena87 welcome to the thread!

@Welshpea you've got an early period, and I think I'm having early ovulation. Probably not a bad thing, should mean I can move to the next FET slightly earlier if it is ovulation. You're starting already? That's gone fast!

Welshpea · 10/05/2022 18:02

@thislittlebird yup patch on and just taken my first lot of oestrogen

gonna be emotional by the weekend 😂😂 that's the only real symptom i had last time! sudden outbreaks of crying 😂😂😂 thanks hormones !

thislittlebird · 10/05/2022 18:09

@Welshpea Oh god, I'd be such a nightmare lol. I'm really keen to avoid medicated because of a) migraines and b) persistent thrush caused by oestrogen but I worry I should be doing medicated because my body is kinda dumb :/

Iwouldlikesomecake · 10/05/2022 20:25

Little bird, that’s a very good point!!

thislittlebird · 10/05/2022 20:26

Can’t type today! *weight issues, not wait!

thislittlebird · 30/05/2022 08:32

How's everyone getting on? I'm going for FET 2 on my next cycle because I'll be away for the upcoming one. Nartural modified again this time.

IE00 · 31/05/2022 07:10

Hello, does anyone know if partners are allowed in now? I've got my pregnancy scan next Monday

Welshpea · 31/05/2022 19:42

@IE00 i saw a notice when i was in last week that said partners can go for initial appointment, egg collection app, and first scan so you'll be fine to take your partner

@thislittlebird I had my scan and my lining was only 4.7 on day 17!

I go back tomorrow for another scan to see how it's got on after another week

I'm now worried my lining not getting thick enough is the issue ! we've never had this issue before and i've had millions of scans over the 4 years

That's exciting ! it'll come around so quickly ! :)

thislittlebird · 31/05/2022 21:48

@Welshpea oh, I wasn’t expecting that, I felt like you were transferring already. When was your day 17? Are you doing medicated?

Welshpea · 01/06/2022 10:37

@thislittlebird my day 17 was Thursday last week

Yeah i'm doing medicated so need my lining to be thicker so i can start progesterone

I asked them that if it's still on the thinner side like last time at about 6.7 and this transfer is unsuccessful if i can try a natural cycle next time to see if the estrogen isn't working how it should be and affecting my lining

Plantsandcoffee · 01/06/2022 18:06

Hey all,

Hope everyone is doing ok.

I've been pretty quiet on here but I had my Egg Collection yesterday. 14 eggs collected, 9 matured and 4 fertilised.

We're not doing a fresh transfer so we're waiting for my next period then we've been told to call them and il start Progynova.

I was wondering if anyone who has done a frozen transfer could let me know about the next steps?

They have just said I'd start the progynova but I don't know il have to do any scans or give any blood?

I'm meant to be going away for 5 days a couple of days after my period is due will I have to cancel this?

Verbena87 · 01/06/2022 21:44

@Plantsandcoffee I’m doing a FET with progynova. Started the estrogen on cycle day 1, then had an online consent form appointment on cycle day 6 (you need to attend with your partner if you’re part of a couple, but just need an internet connection that you can video call on, photo ID and the printed consent form so could potentially do from holiday) and will have a lining scan cycle day 15. Transfer will be some time the following week depending on my lining. Hope that helps a bit?

Plantsandcoffee · 02/06/2022 09:00

Hi @Verbena87

Thanks for this info. Yes that's really helpful. Sounds like we will be ok to go away for a couple of days. Which is great as we definitely need some respite.

How are you finding Progynova? Do you know what they're looking for in terms of the lining? X

Plantsandcoffee · 03/06/2022 09:43

Sorry for the double message but I've also been wondering if anyone had fertilised eggs frozen on day one? That's what has happened with our 4 fertilised eggs.

I thought they usually waited until day 3/5. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Verbena87 · 03/06/2022 19:16

hiya @Plantsandcoffee - Progynova hasn’t been too bad so far this cycle apart from crippling headaches the first couple of days (checked with the nursing team and it’s ok to have paracetamol for this). In previous cycles it’s given me morning sickness but so far so puke-free this time around. Oh, and buckets of knicker-soaking discharge. But not as bad as once you add progesterone pessaries into the mix. 🤢🤣

Plantsandcoffee · 04/06/2022 12:48

Thanks @Verbena87

Sounds fun 😂 probably a blessing in disguise doing frozen for me. Gives me a break after EC before the fun of Progynova

Verbena87 · 04/06/2022 20:13

@Plantsandcoffee You may be fine on it, this will be my fourth FET cycle and it’s been slightly different side-effects (on the same drugs) each time. So not only is it different for everyone, but apparently different at different times for the same woman as well. Enjoy the break!

@Welshpea how did it go, did you get to do the transfer? I was on holiday and saw this just now.

thislittlebird · 12/06/2022 19:18

Day 1? I’ve not heard of that, did they say why @Plantsandcoffee?

I’m doing a natural modified FET, not had to take Progynova before. Next FET is in July, I missed a month because we went on holiday at the wrong time.

Welshpea · 12/06/2022 19:33

@thislittlebird Hey! how was your holiday? hope you feel super relaxed now :)

Our transfer got cancelled 😭
First scan my lining was 4.7 then second 5.9 then third i thought i'd be all good for transfer and my lining was 3.7! 😡

got a consultation appointment in a week and a bit to decided what to do next
i just don't think my body reacts to estrogen very well

xx
