@Bubbafever @thislittlebird Thank you both! I'm super nervous to know if the thaw went okay!

They emailed me in October for transfer but I was awaiting a hysteroscopy that wasn't until November so that's why i'm only having it now. They may be quicker now they are catching up with covid. The speed has definitely got better.

yeah @Bubbafever I think it comes up when you google it :) Mine said in my funding letter too

xx

thislittlebird · 03/03/2022 17:34

@Welshpea how did the transfer go?

Thanks, useful to know, I hope so. Someone on another thread said it was min. 3 months but I’ve never heard of this before. I thought they’d said I could come back in for transfer on my late march/April cycle. What was the wait for you @GJW2018? I’m going to email them to discuss because I cannot deal with waiting three months :/

GJW2018 · 03/03/2022 19:07

@thislittlebird no I think with a freeze all you don’t go back on a waiting list they just said email/call us when you get/are expecting your second period and we will do the transfer that cycle. Do you have all the meds for an FET - estrogen etc.? I would defo keep in touch with them so that you’re on their radar and their expecting you to start your FET around that time.

Sending you alllll of the sticky vibes @Welshpea ✨✨✨

thislittlebird · 03/03/2022 19:28

@GJW2018 yes, that’s what I thought, for this cycle it’ll be April, because my 2nd period after ivf is due end of March. I will be honest and say I don’t understand the meds and how it all works, I think that’s a good point though. I’m going to email them and ask the process, maybe also explain when I’ll be roughly due and that I’m away a few days early in that cycle. I’m hoping it doesn’t make a difference as long as I have the meds?

GJW2018 · 03/03/2022 20:11

@thislittlebird yes just keep on their radar when you’ll be starting and check about the meds. They sent me my FET meds with my EC stims meds because we knew it would be a freeze all from the outset whereas yours wasn’t decided till the day. For the FET you just take estrogen tablets I think from the beginning of that cycle and progesterone pessaries just before and after transfer. There aren’t any injections that I recall xx

Welshpea · 04/03/2022 12:04

@GJW2018 thank you!

@thislittlebird all went well thank you! Nice little AA is in there, hopefully getting comfy and warm! super excited and feeling positive about it all!! Test day is 14th March!

Yeah @GJW2018 is right - only estrogen tablets and i have estrogen patches too but they start you on the tablets and then when you get your scans they will prescribe you the patches if they want your lining to thicken more. On my first scan it was only 4.4 so they put me on them and i have to have them and the tablets until 12 weeks of pregnancy if this works. Progesterone pessaries start when they tell you to. They will normally arrange your transfer date and give you the date to start the pessaries too - 5 days before transfer you have to do them.

Bubbafever · 04/03/2022 12:19

Fingers crossed Welshpea!!! Is the term PUPO?

Thanks all about timings. That is really helpful :-)

canoechick · 07/03/2022 07:37

Hi all, I’ve avoided this thread since my last attempt didn’t succeed BUT I’ve just had d11 positive following my second FET (+PGD) .

Early days but fingers crossed things keep going!

Welshpea · 07/03/2022 18:15

@canoechick ahh congratulations!! hope it all goes well !

@Bubbafever It is! i am trying to hold out testing but already getting the itch to do it!!

Sarah2328 · 17/03/2022 19:59

@canoechick aww congratulations 😘

@Welshpea I pray you had a good outcome 😘

Welshpea · 13/04/2022 12:00

Hey everyone! Sorry I decided to take a break from everything trying for a baby wise!

We got a negative result from our frozen transfer so I was feeling quite negative about it all.

Waiting for our call to arrange our next FET - this time we are doing progesterone injections. Has anyone done these?

X

Welshpea · 13/04/2022 12:00

@canoechick CONGRATULATIONS! hope all is well

GJW2018 · 13/04/2022 12:32

@Welshpea I’m sorry it was a negative for this cycle but have everything crossed for the next one! I started on Lubion injections as my progesterone is super low, it didn’t improve so went on to prontogest (which are the in oil intramuscular ones and are grim) which did the trick and got my progesterone right up! All the while kept on utrogestan pessaries. I’m not sure if they’d offer prontogest at Guys they might just have Lubion but I’d defo push for a blood test to check that they’ve pushed it up enough. Sending you every positive vibe for your next cycle ✨

thislittlebird · 13/04/2022 16:14

@Welshpea ah, I'm sorry. It really sucks and needing a break is understandable. How long do you have to wait for the next FET?

@GJW2018 good point on the blood test. I think I'll ask them to check when I get to that stage. I did have a blood test before, when on cyclogest + letrozole, and my progesterone was really high, so I'm hoping cyclogest will do the trick.

I'm currently trying to do my first FET. I'm doing a natural cycle because of my hormonal migraines, I was very worried about two weeks on oestrogen tbh. Anyway, it's not exactly been smooth sailing but today is cycle day 19 and I had a scan this morning. I have a dominant follicle (17mm), good triple layer lining (7.7mm) and finally I am getting CM. The next obstacle is can I get an LH rise, we shall see, but for now getting to the point of nearing ovulation is a start, we were touch and go there for a while.

Welshpea · 14/04/2022 09:08

@GJW2018 Thank you - I have a phobia of needles so it wasn't the news i was after from
the consultant but I got the first lot done for collection so i'm gonna have to suck it up 😂

@thislittlebird They said the FET list was super short at the moment and it was weeks rather than months like last time. I hope i would get a call next week but it's just a waiting game as usual.

On my last transfer after 33 days days of the meds they did my transfer but my lining only got to 6.7 with a triple layer. Has everyone else's been a lot more than this? Can anyone remember how thick a lining they transferred on because i feel like 6.7 was too thin ? xx

thislittlebird · 14/04/2022 09:42

@Welshpea interesting about the wait times hmmm. I wonder if it’s a Covid thing.

They said to me yesterday they they want it to be 7mm when they transfer. Mine was 7.7mm yesterday but I’m not on oestrogen and I’m not sure how that effects it.

ImVFhopeful2022 · 14/04/2022 10:28

Hi everyone, hope you don't mind me hopping on and asking about current wait times at GSTT? I had an initial appointment in Feb but needed to lose a few kgs before I could be considered for funding.

I've now lost the weight and been re-referred, does anyone know when we might expect to start treatment? I was really hoping it would only be a few months, but from reading this thread it seems like a timeline of 6 or 7 months is likely for our first FET (it's likely I won't be able to do a fresh cycle due to risk of OHSS).

Welshpea · 14/04/2022 15:19

@thislittlebird Hmmm I thought the estrogen was supposed to build lining thicker so I think mine should definitely have been thicker than 6.7. i was on a higher dose of tablets and the patches as well! I'm gonna look into fertility massage because it's supposed to be good for that i've read

@ImVFhopeful2022 Hey! Welcome! I have no idea what current wait times are. We got our funding through in Jan19, first appointment in March19 and then started our round for egg collection in June cycle i think. But Covid made everything take so much longer than usual. My last FET i waited from July19 until Feb20 and now they are saying weeks so wait times are definitely shorter than they have been :) I've had a really good experience with Guys overall

ImVFhopeful2022 · 14/04/2022 16:10

Thanks @Welshpea, I'm just so desperate to get going after waiting such a long time (we've been TTC for 3 years, a MMC after 10 months and nothing since). I'm getting on a bit!

Really sorry to hear you had a negative test recently, hope your next FET is successful.

Sarah2328 · 14/04/2022 17:12

@ImVFhopeful2022 my first app was June 2021 and I started treatment September 2021. Fresh cycle, hopefully you won't have to wait to long. Xx

Sarah2328 · 14/04/2022 17:14

@Welshpea soo sorry it was a negative round for you, it's good to take a brake and from it all, you will be stronger for the next round, I hope it's soon and I'm praying for you xx

@Welshpea I’m joining you in the negative test club, it’s a shit club. Do you have your next FET scheduled in? I have to wait for our chat with a doctor before we can schedule ours.

jusstjaee · 02/05/2022 17:03

@thislittlebird Same here hence my quietness on here! This journey well and truly sucks. I'm currently waiting to find out when I can start my cycle again. Thinking of you and @Welshpea x

Welshpea · 02/05/2022 17:17

Hey ladies

@thislittlebird @jusstjaee I'm really sorry that your results were negative. It really is the worst club to be in! But i still have faith that this is our year !

The waiting times are much better though

My negative test was 14th March
Consultant appointment was 4th April
Call to arrange FET was 28th April and we are starting in my May cycle which is 11th May

Have you both got your consultation appointment dates yet?
