@jusstjaee thank you 🥰 good luck with everything!!

@thislittlebird sorry to hear you didn't have a transfer but maybe it is a better idea to wait until you're feeling better. If you didn't then it would always be in the back of your mind if the transfer failed wouldn't it? Such good news about your embabies too, it only takes one!!!
Do you think your transfer with be next month?

thislittlebird · 16/02/2022 19:21

@Etonmess20 that’s exactly what the doctor said, that I’ll always wonder if it was because of my health right now so it’s best to delay slightly. I’m not exactly sure tbh, she said I have to contact them on my second bleed from now. So not the one I’ll get in a few days, but the one after that in March. I think they might check if your ovaries are back to normal before they proceed maybe? Not entirely sure. Also have no idea how long a cycle you can potentially have after the IVF stims.

jusstjaee · 16/02/2022 20:41

@thislittlebird oh no so sorry 😞 I hope you start to feel better soon and you don't have to wait long to be able to transfer x

jusstjaee · 16/02/2022 20:42

@Etonmess20 Thank you 😊 just waiting for AF to arrive 🙄

thislittlebird · 16/02/2022 20:47

@jusstjaee I worked it out and it looks like it’ll be late April 😳. Feels like a long way away but on the plus side, we have over a week away booked in late March/early April so that should break up the waiting a little bit. Hardest part now feels like waiting for my next cycle which I’m assuming will be super delayed because of the drugs.

Iwouldlikesomecake · 17/02/2022 16:00

Great news about the number of embryos!

We have had our first consultation. Few more investigations and then we go for it. Chance isn't great but I knew that. Last time I had a scan I was told that my follicle count was ok, when I had a scan this week I was told it was quite low... but as my first hospital won't give me copies of any results it's hard to know what 'quite good' is...

GJW2018 · 18/02/2022 08:03

@thislittlebird that’s great news about your Frosties! Such great numbers! We did a freeze all and I waited two cycles as I wanted everything to be properly settled and in the best position before transferring. Just to give you an idea of timing I got my first bleed/period 12 days after EC and the cycle after that was 33 days which is about average for my cycles anyway so was all in all about two months between collection and transfer. Hope you’re starting to feel better soon xxxx
Sending you all the good vibes @jusstjaee ✨✨✨

thislittlebird · 18/02/2022 11:49

So we got the final embryologist call today and got 4 frozen in the end! I know they said one was top quality, two were good, will assume the last was poor but they didn’t say. I should have asked but it doesn’t matter really, we’ll find out nearer the time we need to us it.

@Iwouldlikesomecake I wouldn’t worry too much just yet, see how it all goes. It’s such an unpredictable process and I’ve seen people with three follicles get all three eggs fertilised and so on. Keep us posted on your consultation.

@GJW2018 I’m really pleased! It’s so nice to have a few chances. It’s hard because I feel a bit better today and yesterday and keep thinking I should have done it but I may not have felt better if I had! The doctor was really good and agreed she’d arrange to do the transfer for me so that I’d met her and was more comfortable.

The wait is a good opportunity to get a bit healthier before the FET. I’m glad to hear your cycles were fairly standard after. I’m worrying the next one won’t come now, of course! Lol

jusstjaee · 18/02/2022 19:41

@thislittlebird aww I know April seems far but at least this will give you some time to relax and let your body test from all the injections. I'm sure the time will come around quicker than you think. Hope your feeling better now

@GJW2018 Thank guy so much ☺️ how's everything going with your pregnancy?

GJW2018 · 18/02/2022 22:04

@thislittlebird yes I went up and down thinking should we have transferred earlier but I believe everything happens for a reason and just have to trust and make the most of it like you say getting super healthy. I was drinking lots of Pom, the marks smoothie and protein shakes!
@jusstjaee so excited for you! Yes all good, will be 33 weeks Sunday so on a real countdown now! Scared for how this baby’s going to make its way out! Didn’t think that through when they were putting them in! 😂

thislittlebird · 22/02/2022 12:53

@jusstjaee I’m feeling better this week, how are you getting on?

@GJW2018 we have a decorator in but if he wasn’t here I’d be working out by now, I think. AF came today, it’s a relief to know I’m about six weeks away from some more progress. 33 weeks is terrifying lol. One of the things I’ve found hardest about infertility is knowing all the other crap likely to come and having so much time to think about it. I don’t think that’s how it’s supposed to be, if hat makes sense? Like there would be a lot less births if every woman had all this time to dwell on it all for years in advance before any pregnancy.

jusstjaee · 22/02/2022 20:19

@thislittlebird aww glad to hear your feeling better. I had my scan today and was told good to go so done my first injection this evening.

Did you have Menopur if so how many boxes did you have I only have 3 boxes which doesn't seem right as this needs to get me to next week or am I meant to use the same liquid again?

@GJW2018 hahaha oh bless you! 33weeks that's amazing... you really don't have long to go now you must be so excited as well as nervous lol x

Etonmess20 · 22/02/2022 21:07

@jusstjaee I only had 3 boxes too, once it's mixed up in the little glass pot (powder +liquid) you get more than one injection worth out of it.

jusstjaee · 22/02/2022 21:13

@Etonmess20 oh I thought so but wasn't too sure thank you for confirming 😊

Etonmess20 · 22/02/2022 21:39

@jusstjaee it's alright, it's really daunting knowing what to do with it all (I found it daunting anyway!) good luck with your injections!

jusstjaee · 22/02/2022 21:45

@Etonmess20 Honestly I was the exactly the same this evening. We waited an 1hr 30 at our appointment today to find out the lady on reception hadn't check us in because she thought we was just there for a blood test and only did so once I had gone to the desk to find out why the long wait. I think after that everything the nurse said once we finally had our scan went in one ear and come out the other! How's everything going with the pregnancy?

Etonmess20 · 22/02/2022 21:48

@jusstjaee did you get some QR codes on the paperwork sent to you with the meds? We found watching them as you were doing it was helpful & you do get used to it really quickly. So bad they left you waiting for so long btw 🤦🏼‍♀️
Yeah all good thank you, 29 weeks on Friday - it's literally flying by 😬

jusstjaee · 22/02/2022 22:04

@Etonmess20 no I didn't actually but to be fair it really wasn't as bad as I thought they were going to be thankfully.
Aww so happy to hear that everything is going well with the pregnancy, I can imagine it feels like only last week you announced your positive news. Enjoy every moment ✨

Bubbafever · 27/02/2022 18:40

Hi All, I have my first consulation this week after funding was approved. What should I expect? Do they test the AFC? Do you get asked about previous private treatments and embryos left? I heard nhs treatment might not be allowed if embryos are left from a self-funded treatment. Is that correct? Also how quickly after the first appointment did you ladies start treatment?

thislittlebird · 01/03/2022 18:26

@Bubbafever sorry for the delayed reply. Have you had the appointment now? It would be a scan for you, questions, and possibly a SA for your partner. Your CCG guidance will have the rules on what’s allowed in it usually. My appointment was Aug 31, my treatment started late January.

Bubbafever · 01/03/2022 19:25

Thanks thislittlebird. Have you had previous private treatment? Did they ask for details?

thislittlebird · 01/03/2022 19:37

@Bubbafever no, but I hadn’t had any. My CCG says that we can have two private rounds before we lose our funded one. Does yours give you info on that?

Welshpea · 02/03/2022 06:21

@Bubbafever 👋 Hiya!

We had our first appointment February 2021 and started our first cycle in June/ July 21. Then we had a 3 month waiting list for next transfer. I've been super impressed with Guys - even with COVID they've been great

I transfer tomorrow!! eeekk!

What CCG are you ? I'm sure in our previous post people posted the CCG pdf documents

S x

Bubbafever · 02/03/2022 08:04

Good luck for tomorrow Welshpea!!!

I am North West London CCG - I have no idea where to get the documents. Guys confirmed I could have 1 round of private and not lose my nhs entitlement but not sure about whether having embryos leftover will cancel my funding.

thislittlebird · 02/03/2022 13:59

@Welshpea I’ve been very impressed too. I think I’d use them again, as long as there was a way to skip the waiting list with private. Which someone on here said there was, I haven’t looked into it.

Good luck with your transfer! I had no idea it was 3 months wait per transfer 😩. I’m kinda distressed by that, I’m 39 in May. I need to get through these embryos quicker than a year :/ . I assumed it was 2 months like IVF-FET time.

@Bubbafever I’m surprised NW London refers to guys, I would have assumed Kings or UCH. If you Google your CCG name and ivf policy it should be online. Could you use the embryos while you wait? It’s a 4-6 month wait usually.
