Hey everyone,

Been a few weeks since I have been on here, I’m sure you can remember but I had sent a complaint email due to treatment being delayed.

Well guess what….. I started my injections!! Today was day 9 and I went for a scan, they want my follicles a little bigger and I am scheduled in for Tuesday morning for my egg retrieval, they have said they are hoping to retrieve around 8 eggs. So fingers crossed for me.

Hope everyone is doing well x

Etonmess20 · 24/09/2021 15:33

@HereToLearnAndShare thank you for the new thread! Everything crossed your AF arrives on time after you got kept waiting last time!!

@Sarah2328 that's brilliant news, hopefully you won't spend your last few days on stims too uncomfortable, I felt like I was going to lay multiple eggs before mine 😂

Sarah2328 · 24/09/2021 15:36

@Etonmess20 thank you, ooo god really, I’ve not been too bad, just bloating and mild headaches, I’m nervous but excited x

Etonmess20 · 24/09/2021 15:43

@Sarah2328 I was probably the same but definitely got more bloated as got closer to EC. You'll be fine, I felt really well cared for & everyone was lovely at our collection ☺️ we got 9 eggs btw so definitely don't worry about your numbers, I was really concerned at the time that ours weren't "enough" & wish I hadn't worried myself x

Sarah2328 · 24/09/2021 15:48

@Etonmess20 oo god help me over the next couple of days then haha, I was slightly worried about the numbers, I think i do to much reading on the internet, but the nurses were lovely today and reassured me that everything was going well so far and not to worry, so hearing you say that puts me at ease.

I hope you are doing well x

HereToLearnAndShare · 24/09/2021 15:56

@Sarah2328 thats great! So the compaint email did work! Fings crossed for the EC! 🤞

And thank you very much. Hope your well x

Etonmess20 · 24/09/2021 16:04

@Sarah2328 definitely don't worry & stay off Google, you'll drive yourself mad 😂

Also can any one advise me so I had a call last Wednesday and apparently I am not MMR immune so have to have the MMR vaccine. The nurse from guys I'm sure said after the first dose have my second 4 weeks apart. Well when I went to have my first dose at my GP surgery on Thursday they was telling me I need to wait 3 months!! So when I called back guys and spoke to them they said if that's what my GP are saying then to go by what they are saying. Anyway I then googled and it says that I can get the second dose within a minimum of weeks of having the first dose. Has anyone else had to do this and if so did you wait the 3 months or get within 4 weeks. I don't know what to do but if I wait the 3 months this will take me to December and then I wouldn't be able to start treatment until another 4 weeks which will take me January. Even now me and OH can not try naturally as I am supposed to be using protection as it was advised that for the first 4 weeks of having the MMR you shouldn't fall pregnant. Any advise or suggestions would be appreciated please Blush

thislittlebird · 25/09/2021 11:57

@jusstjaee I had mine in July, second dose in August and I’m now one month (or more) clear of the second dose, which is what the nhs advice is tmk. My surgery just booked me in for four weeks later, so it’s three months all in but I’m not sure if they mean three months after you get your second? That’s a long time Confused. This is our first month of trying since the first MMR dose I had.

Sarah2328 · 25/09/2021 12:00

@jusstjaee hey, I had to have my MMR injection too, I got an appointment with the doctors and then 4 weeks later i had the second dose. 3 months apart does not seem right x

jusstjaee · 25/09/2021 12:01

@thislittlebird ohh thank you this is good to know. So you had your first and second dose within 4 weeks of each other? Tbh I was just going to book it for 4 weeks time regardless but I know that's what the consultant said when she phoned but the DRs made me start second guessing.

jusstjaee · 25/09/2021 12:02

@Sarah2328 Thank you! Honestly all the conflicting advise really confuses me sometimes but thankful for this group seriously xx

Sarah2328 · 25/09/2021 12:05

@jusstjaee I would just book it 4 weeks apart, it’s heartbreaking enough knowing you got to go through that before you can start the process, just more delays. Fingers crossed you get it all sorted and can start your treatment soon x

thislittlebird · 25/09/2021 12:19

@jusstjaee yeah like @Sarah2328 said just book it 4 weeks apart and then wait another four weeks before trying after the second dose. I can’t see why they would say that. The surgery nurse booked mine in for me for 4 weeks later while I was there having my 1st dose. Guys tested me at my appointment a few weeks back and the letter I received with my protocol on confirmed I now have immunity, which is good.

jusstjaee · 25/09/2021 12:37

@Sarah2328 @thislittlebird Thank you so much ladies xx. I will have to wait until the 4th Oct before I can book as my GP surgery's calendar doesn't go as far as I need to be able to book yet Hmmalways something it feels like nothing is straightforward with this journey!

thislittlebird · 25/09/2021 12:44

@jusstjaee if my surgery hadn’t booked mine for me there and then I would have had the same problem. The calendar is never available when you want it 🙃

jusstjaee · 25/09/2021 12:47

@thislittlebird I know think it's ridiculous that they can not go further but hey ho. Well the nurse wouldn't book mine for 4 weeks as she was insisting it needs to be 3months apart so I just said I would confirm with Guys and then call back but now need to wait for the calendar to be open. So once I have had my second dose will I be checked again for immunity?

thislittlebird · 25/09/2021 12:55

@jusstjaee guys checked me, rather than the Gp surgery. Did they do your blood tests when you saw them for your appointment?

jusstjaee · 25/09/2021 13:02

@thislittlebird I had my bloods done a few weeks back which is why she called last week in regards to the MMR but was just wondering once I have had my second dose will I then need another blood test from Guys to see if I am now immune or will the fact that I have had both dose be fine?

thislittlebird · 25/09/2021 13:14

@jusstjaee I’m not sure on that one because I was immune by the appointment but someone else here might not have been

jusstjaee · 25/09/2021 14:26

@thislittlebird ah I see ok apologies I thought you meant after you had yours you then had another blood test to see if you was now immune. Tbf the consultant didn't mention that I would need to do anything like that just to book my two doses so hopefully that's it =)
