@HereToLearnAndShare great you are finally starting, woo!! I'm taking them twice a day and only side effect has been mild depression and moodiness, trying to just remind myself it's just the drugs. Nothing physical. How are you feeling so far? When is your scan?

@Etonmess20 I'm hoping around 18th/19th. I guess the biggest thing here is the three frozen 2PNs have a very slim chance of survival so will be a bummer to go through this two weeks just to have nothing to transfer. Fingers crossed! Sorry to hear about the family problems on DP's side, sounds like this miracle is just what they need! Was your mum thrilled?

@Sarah2328 sending you all the good vibes!! Great numbers.

Etonmess20 · 04/10/2021 20:50

@Vparisi did you have your engagement party btw? I completely forgot that you'd booked it for 1st didn't you?
Sending all the positive vibes for the thawing, will you not find out until transfer day how it's turned out or so they tell you before? All you can do is think positive for now!
All family were pleased, it was really lovely to be able to tell them - we had some cards made on moonpig so it was really special. DPs nephew is 6 & was like "is it a girl or a boy" & we said we didn't know but said he'd prefer a boy 😂 he then said could they come before May cus that's aggggggges to wait 😂😂

HereToLearnAndShare · 05/10/2021 15:07

@Vparisi I decided to take them once a day (evening) as wanted to avoid any physical discomfort through out the day. Dont feel anything yet but its still my second day.

My scan is rescheduled for 19 Oct 10:30 am

I have everything crossed for you and your frosties 🙏💞

@thislittlebird Hey... How you doing? Any updates or still in the waiting process like me? Xx

thislittlebird · 06/10/2021 20:22

@jusstjaee hey, I’m...mixed lol. I’m still waiting and according to them I’ll be waiting longer than expected 😬😬😬

Not exactly a shock since I was a little sceptical that it would be on time, but I’m annoyed the doctor told me 2-3 months. I emailed them this week and called them today and it’s basically more like 5 months, since they shut for Christmas, and that’s if it’s all on time.

I’m getting on a bit, will be 39 in May, if I don’t do a round until January (my cycle is the last couple of days of the month), that means a collection in February and a transfer in what, April???? I’m a little distressed if I’m honest but I’m trying to decide whether to do a private round now I know. We’d saved for it anyway. I told myself I would start IVF in April 2021 earlier this year, before I was 38. I don’t think I can wait until I’m 39 to start, I’m struggling with the waiting as is.

Alwaysworried247 · 07/10/2021 10:00

Hello everyone
We have our initial meeting with Guys next week but we were due to start a private round with the Lister before as we were told that the Guys referral would take 12 - 18 months and its actually only taken 4 weeks to have the initial appointment. We need to have PG testing following a heart-breaking TFMR in the summer, so we know we have the funding but how long does it take after the initial consultation to start and is it frowned on to have a private attempt first? I am 35 so we didn't want to wait over a year so have raided our savings but I don't want that to affect the 3 rounds the NHS are kindly giving.

thislittlebird · 07/10/2021 10:07

@Alwaysworried247 I’m not entirely sure because it depends on CCG but so I would read their guidance. If you’re getting three rounds there may be a no private round rule, whereas where I am it’s one round and we’re allowed up to two private rounds, but, not all CCGs are the same.

jusstjaee · 07/10/2021 10:18

@thislittlebird Ohh no.. I am so sorry to hear that but honestly as much as this waiting is killing me I am trying so hard not to chase because I know I will be told the same but like you kind of expected it as when I read reviews they all said about being closed over Christmas, but I hear what you mean in terms of the lady saying 2-3months (must of had the same lady) because this kind of got my hopes up as the gentleman I saw before did actually say I would be looking at next year!

Honestly if I had the money I would definitely go private because like you I don't think I can wait any longer and to think it will most likely be mid next year now is really disheartening.

thislittlebird · 07/10/2021 11:09

So many typos, I was walking and typing!

@jusstjaee I would not have chased if I’d been told something more realistic, you know? Why not mention the Christmas closures? I find it odd that she said 2-3 months with such certainty, it clearly is not that, it’s 5 months really. And that’s if there’s no further Covid/winter delays, you know?

Who was the guy you saw before? Was he more senior? He sounds more sensible.
If I was 30, 33, 35 I would wait, but I’m really not and it’s so frustrating that I’m getting nearer to 39 every month I wait. Sod’s law says I’ll do a private round and then they’ll call me up 🙄. I’m going to reply to their email and see if they give any more info. It won’t be mid next year if you don’t need a freeze all I think, but I will need one most likely. Which adds more months on!

We don’t have a lot of money but we have been saving for this in case we need private. I’m just so annoyed because we cancelled our plan to do a private cycle in September because of the date they gave us. It’s only a couple more months, I said! Stupid.

Bellwells · 07/10/2021 11:22

@Alwaysworried247 hey I’m having PGD testing and I had my first PGD consultation app. 27th September.
I was told it would take 4 months for my ACU referral (where I would then be able to get booked in for an appointment with the ACU team) and my appointment would be 2 months away. I believe this is where they take a full medical history and do a semen analysis, internal exam, blood test and AMH testing then then its the discussion of treatment.

I’m also looking at CRGH as they are quicker as they do not have a waiting list (Guy’s said it themselves).
If you are testing for PGD you can go to any clinic that offers PGD, but you have to referred by a geneticist.

Alwaysworried247 · 07/10/2021 11:34

@Bellwells - ah thank you, that helps. We were referred by our geneticist from St George's but they didn't mention going anywhere else, just Guys? We were told that they are the best in Europe for PG testing, not sure if that is true or not.

Given the timeframe they have suggested to you, I think we could easily squeeze in a private round. Our private clinic want us to start at the end of this month before the Xmas closure but best I check with Guys next week during our initial meeting that we are allowed to do it. I think our funding comes from a national pot which is why it is already approved but I am new to all of this.

jusstjaee · 07/10/2021 11:36

@thislittlebird everything you have said I totally agree with. And there was me thinking even though she said 2-3 months it may even be sooner... well there goes that wishful thinking!

The guy I saw was when I very first got referred to guys & St Thomas and done my IVF application for funding. But he clearly included the fact they was closed for Christmas when he said next year!

Also when you have emailed have you emailed the admin team or the actual nurses who advised you the wait will be longer now?

That is really frustrating that you cancelled your planned treatment in Sept thinking you wouldn't have too much of a wait with guys. I don't think they understand the emotional trauma people like us feel with all these waiting times and delays.

Bellwells · 07/10/2021 13:58

@Alwaysworried247 yes funding is already approved for me too. Guy’s is meant to be the best however I found that the stats for CRGH are better. Just be aware that if you go private for the one round and are successful with a live birth you won’t be able to have PGD on the NHS in the future as you would have an unaffected child

Alwaysworried247 · 07/10/2021 14:13

@Bellwells wow, I didn't realise you could select clinics as I too had seen that Guys didn't have amazing stats but I thought that might be down to the amount of PG testing they do?
Thank you but we would just be so happy to have a live birth whether private or NHS. After dreaming of multiple children we would now be more than happy with just one child. One and Done as we say now.

Bellwells · 07/10/2021 14:21

@Alwaysworried247 Guy’s definitely do a higher amount of PGD testing in comparison to other clinics so that maybe why.
Oh definitely go for the private clinic in that case! It will be much quicker for you! And if you have more unaffected embryos you can always freeze them and have them transferred at a later date.

morganablue · 08/10/2021 11:52

Hi guys! On my way to ET, dribking my water and hoping that 4bb defrost just fine and that I don't myself.

How are you all?

@Vparisi do you have a scan planned? I found tablets made super tired and a bit moody, I actually stopped taking them twice per day and started to take then once per day, cause I kept forgetting about it. I was not expecting that even if test is police, one needs to continue with the 4 tablets and the 2 pessaries until 12 weeks.

Sending love to all.

morganablue · 08/10/2021 11:53

*I don't pee myself

Sorry, walking and typing

HereToLearnAndShare · 08/10/2021 12:29

@morganablue thats so exciting! Good luck 💞
I do the same with the tablets - take them only evening time.

Woohoo @morganablue! Sending you all of the good vibes for your transfer and a sticky 4bb! ✨✨✨✨

Sarah2328 · 08/10/2021 13:21

@morganablue

Good luck, sending you positive vibes 😘 xx

morganablue · 08/10/2021 19:05

Hi guys! Thank you! Went well, 4bb defrosted and did not degraded and a very full bladdered me saw the embryo leaving the catheter to reach my womb, like a shooting star. Now fingers crossed for test day on 19th!

Meanwhile this time I have kept of the superstition: had the pomegranate juice from, M&s, warm.socks, mc Donald chips and pineapple with core 🤞🏼

morganablue · 08/10/2021 19:07

@HereToLearnAndShare @GJW2018 @Sarah2328 ♥️ also made myself a sticky spiced pumpkin chai latte!

Sarah2328 · 08/10/2021 19:14

@morganablue

Awww I'm so happy for you, 4BB is very good, I have my fingers and toes crossed for that blastocyst to stick.

Good on you, go and pamper yourself, get some rest and take it easy for a couple of days.

Give it a few days and you will feel like the days are dragging, the eager I have to test is unreal, but I'm holding out.

Only another 6 days to go until test day. 😘 x

HereToLearnAndShare · 08/10/2021 21:27

@morganablue ah thats amazing! I like the superstition arrangement 💞 Sending you sticky thoughts 😊

@Sarah2328 so its not much left then! Do you have any symptoms?

OP posts:
Sarah2328 · 08/10/2021 21:32

@HereToLearnAndShare

I've had abdom cramping, but omg are my boobs and nips soo tender, I have also noticed over the past 2 days I am urinating more.

I don't know if I'm looking into things to much, or if it's side effects from the progesterone.

It's soo hard not to test, I just want to know 😣😣 x
