I can't see that anyone else has started one yet, so I thought I may as well!

Just got my calendar through today and will be downregging in three weeks time, starting stims in late October, with EC provisionally in early November. This is my second round, which will now be ICSI-only after my last one ended up with a total fertilisation failure Sad

Anyone else on the same sort of timeframe?

@TheSnufflet Hi yes I think I will be the same sort of time frame as my first cycle failed in mid August.
Just had my review yesterday & then got to have nurse consultation at the end of September so hopefully start around mid of October. Sorry to hear you had a failed fertilisation. It's heartbreaking when it doesn't work for a number of different reasons.

Nerdalert · 18/09/2021 21:27

Hey, I just had our first fresh round, that ended in a BFN test and the longest period known to man! Hoping for a FET in October / November. We have 2 frosties in the freezer. 🍍

PositiveeVibes · 14/10/2021 10:36

Hi all
Just started my second round, first one failed last year! Think I’m more nervous this time around!! Wishing you all the best of luck!

Lotusflower1990000 · 14/10/2021 11:22

Hi all I recognise a few names on here hope you don’t mind me joining too I had a failed first icsi transfer last month and have one frostie so hoping to transfer November although it may be December I have my consultation tomorrow good luck everyone ❤️xxx

PositiveeVibes · 14/10/2021 11:26

Let’s hope it’s second time around for us all! Xx

Lotusflower1990000 · 14/10/2021 11:31

@PositiveeVibes fingers cross and baby dust to us all ❤️are you going through a fresh ivf cycle or frozen? Xxx

PositiveeVibes · 14/10/2021 11:37

@Lotusflower1990000 it will be fresh cycle. None of them from first cycle were suitable to freeze and were poor quality! So hoping for better results this time! Xx

Reefy · 14/10/2021 15:39

@PositiveeVibes sorry to hear the first round failed. I had my first failed cycle in August, just staring my second one now as no Frosties. Have they changed a lot for you this time round?

@Lotusflower1990000 good luck for the consultation tomorrow.

PositiveeVibes · 14/10/2021 16:02

@Reefy sorry to hear your first one failed too! Nope they haven’t changed anything as they couldn’t see any issues. What about you? X

Reefy · 14/10/2021 16:07

@PositiveeVibes the only change is Norethisterone is 8 days rather then 10 & this time I'm on 150ml on Menopur where is last time was 75ml of that & 75ml of Gonal-F. It all seems to be the same about of time according to all my appointments that are booked. They obviously said they don't 100% know why it didn't work but I had to have a day 3 transfer so they said maybe it was as it didn't make a blastocyst stage. See what happens this time.

PositiveeVibes · 14/10/2021 16:15

@Reefy hopefully those changes will make a difference fingers crossed! I’m on buserelin for down regulation at moment and then it will be 225 menopur. Have you started your medication yet? I know I feel it’s even worse when there’s no reason everything is so unknown!

Reefy · 14/10/2021 16:32

@PositiveeVibes fingers crossed 🤞. I don't start the injections till the 22nd just the Northiserine at the moment till Sunday which just delays A/F a few days well I think that's what it does 😂.
Absolutely but I wasn't holding my breath of it working the first time. This will be my last NHS fresh cycle so hopefully I get some Frosties this time.

PositiveeVibes · 14/10/2021 16:49

@Reefy ah okay bit of time yet then! I was exactly the same I didn’t think it would work first time, I know what to expect now too! We only got one cycle on NHS, so I’m hoping and praying this second time will work! Never thought I’d be in this situation but the journey will be worth it! I hope I get some Frosties too!!🤞🤞

KatRee · 14/10/2021 18:02

Hi all- nice to see a thread for Oct/Nov- I was on the Aug/sept thread for my first fresh cycle, which unfortunately failed and due to start new fresh cycle, short protocol early November
Also hoping for 2nd time lucky! 🤞for successful outcomes all round x

Reefy · 14/10/2021 18:26

@PositiveeVibes oh really I think different postcodes have different allowances which I think is wrong everyone should be entitled to the same. Yep I'm the same with knowing what to expect although I have been really lucky in a way I have a close friend who is going through it at the same time so I'm really grateful for her. Also this time I've learnt Google is not my friend & I won't be looking to see how I should be feeling on each day! Fingers crossed Frosties all round! 🤞

@KatRee sorry to hear you had a failed cycle too. That's not too far away. I've got everything crossed for you. Let's hope it's a lucky thread for us all ❤️

PositiveeVibes · 14/10/2021 18:46

@KatRee hello, sorry to hear about your failed cycle too!☹️ But wishing you all the best! X

@Reefy yeah I agree we should all be entitled to the same! Aww bet that has been nice to have that support! Oh yes google doesn’t help at all.. so hoping this will keep me going through this cycle and we can all share our journeys and hope we all get the positive outcome we all want and deserve!❤️

KatRee · 15/10/2021 07:34

Hi @Reefy @PositiveeVibes
My googling was completely out of control last time - it's just the waiting and not knowing is so hard, isn't it. You just want the answer and even though you know Google can't tell you if it's worked or what the chances are, it becomes a compulsion. Honestly, I googled so much last time I don't think there's a single new thing left for me to read! Hopefully that will help me to keep away from it. It really doesn't help at all

Reefy · 15/10/2021 07:46

@KatRee absolutely! I think it's normal tho that we all do it our first times but we learn from it. I know it's easy to say not to look but I'm going to be strong this time. As my other half says it's down to the science & looking in Google won't help 😂.

Frenchie86 · 15/10/2021 10:47

Hi all, please may I join? I've just had my egg transfer (5 day hatched blastocyst), and now in the dreaded 2WW. Trying to distract myself as best I can as it's a slippery slope with all the symptom spotting. We have three frozen embryos for future use but really hoping we don't need it, it's been such a long journey, as I'm sure it has for you all.

Any tips for the waiting? Did you manage to not test early? I'm so sorry for those of you whose first cycle failed.

PositiveeVibes · 15/10/2021 10:52

@KatRee @Reefy oh yes Googling is not good! But I still find myself doing it! Had to do my injection last night on own for first time and I convinced myself I’d done it wrong and it wasn’t going to work! Must stop stressing!

@Frenchie86 welcome 😊 is this your first cycle? Hope you’re doing okay it’s a rollercoaster isn’t it so up and down! I tried to keep myself busy and carry on as normal as possible, I was back at work straight after my transfer went on walks etc. I managed to not test early but it’s so hard! Wishing you all the best and fingers crossed it works!🤞

Reefy · 15/10/2021 10:59

@Frenchie86 yes it so hard not to symptom spot. No I didn't test early I actually did it a day later then the clinic said was OTD. Just take some time for yourself but try & do the things to occupy yourself so you don't think about it. I work in my family business & they made me take the day after off as I had some pain which I had had since EC they checked me before transfer to make sure I didn't have OHSS then I went back for 10 days straight just to keep myself busy. Do what you feel is right for you. Good luck 🤞

Frenchie86 · 15/10/2021 11:02

@PositiveeVibes thank you, yes it's my first! It's definitely been a rollercoaster, more on the emotional side I've found. The injections and drugs were way smoother than I thought. It's just had not to have negative feelings of 'it won't work'. We've been TTC for 4 years (unexplained infertility), had one pregnancy late last year which ending in a surgical termination at 13 weeks because the baby's heart wasn't developing properly.

I think it can be hard to remain positive when you've been stung before, right?

Frenchie86 · 15/10/2021 11:05

@Reefy that sounds like a good plan, I think it's definitely good to be back at work as I don't constantly think about it then. I will hold off testing as well. I went through a phase of doing just before my period every month and it just caused anxiety and heartache. Wishing you every success in this cycle x

PositiveeVibes · 15/10/2021 11:14

@Frenchie86 I agree the emotional side is so much harder! I’m no good with injections/bloods etc but I surprised myself how strong I am when I need to be! I had negative thoughts all the time with my first that it won’t work! This time I’m trying to be more positive! We have been TTC for 4 years too with unexplained fertility it’s so hard having no real reason why! Aww I’m so sorry to hear that ☹️ That must be so hard to deal with.

Reefy · 15/10/2021 11:28

@Frenchie86 sorry to hear about that 💔. We have been TTC for 6 years but found out I had blocked Fallopian tubes, they drained them but it all came back so last November I had to have them both removed to be able to be referred for IVF.

@PositiveeVibes & @Frenchie86i think it's one of those things if you tell yourself to always think the worse that it wont happen as you feel that's the easier way to deal with it as your feel you are used to it. I don't know if that makes any Sense but in my head it did 🤷🏼‍♀️😂
