I think I'm a bit early on some of the other threads so starting one for October/November 😊

1st fresh cycle in august ended in CP.

Booked for follow up consultation 30th September so hopefully I'll be able to transfer late October early November 🤞🏼

5 frozen blasts. Hoping to transfer 2 this time round but I'm not sure they'll let me 😬

Happy Sunday everyone. I’m trying to catch up with all the message. I’m not on lubion, I’m on Pontogest which is intramuscular so injecting on the bum which is quite painful.

@SunshineAndScience I’m so sorry for your news. 8 years is a long time to go through this.

@VenusStarr Sounds like it’s not over yet, will keep everything crossed for you.
Thinking of to all the ladies going through TTW and those who have transfers planned for this coming week.

paintfairy · 14/11/2021 17:26

@strawberrysummer19 yes my period is actually due Tuesday based on EC date. So I reckon by Friday I might know without testing. I also spot when my hormones start dropping and have before on progesterone. We shall see!

strawberrysummer19 · 14/11/2021 18:29

@ is that counting 14 days for a 5 day transfer ? So from counting day 6-14? Just trying to work out mine, so my et was Sunday, so would be due on next Tuesday?

My last cycle I bled on day 14 - few days before otd

My otd is next Thursday if I get that far

Are you waiting too otd or will you test early? X

paintfairy · 14/11/2021 18:43

@strawberrysummer19 yes I think I would bleed before otd too. The progesterone would struggle to hold it off from Tuesday to Friday. It might manage slightly but I would be surprised if it makes it until Friday. Obviously it depends how long your LP usually is, but mine is 14 days religiously. My AF comes on the 15th day.

MrsC2018 · 14/11/2021 18:49

Hey @theotherfossilsister enjoy your quiet early morning walk - that does sound lovely. Fingers crossed your cycle isn't abandoned though, IVF is such turmoil.

@strawberrysummer19 im the same, so very tired and nauseous- but i know its progesterone. Annoyingly I can't remember anything much from the positive cycle - it was only last March! Just that I was so tired I thought I might die. But then I'm pretty dramatic plus I was working full time nights and I had covid. I was also very tearful - but I tested positive 3 days after the first lockdown happened so it was generally a scary time?! I just remember being so very shocked when I saw the two lines, I thought it was the reoccurring progesterone dream I have! So I mustn't have thought it was any different to the previous 4 negative cycles.
I've never bled before OTD so that's not a reliable indicator for me either, I'll be testing Saturday on the OTD. Keep thinking I might test before hand but I'm pretty sure I'm too scared - I've not even bought pregnancy tests yet 🙈 I put them in my basket last Monday 😂

strawberrysummer19 · 14/11/2021 18:50

@paintfairy mine too! I'm always 28 day cycle so for me I'm expecting af by Wednesday
I think I'll sit wait until otd x

strawberrysummer19 · 14/11/2021 18:52

@MrsC2018 I've not bought any tests yet either - I may see if I haven't come on by Tuesday or Wednesday but last time I had come on but like you say it's not a confirmed thing just because you don't come on. I'm half expecting af I suppose to prepare for the worst and I think I'll be very shocked to be a positive x

paintfairy · 14/11/2021 19:09

@strawberrysummer19 @MrsC2018 I have bought tests as i didn't want to order them and them not turn up! But I've hidden them away. My plan currently is to wait until otd. I'm not even sure i want to know the answer..... 🤣

lucymills1234 · 14/11/2021 19:46

Hi all,

It's been a few days since I looked at posts and there's loads on here so trying to catch up.

@VenusStarr what a stressful time for you, I really hope you get reassuring news at the next scan but you must be living in a horrible limbo. Take care of yourself.

To all those in the 2WW, I hope you are hanging in there. @MrsC2018 the only distinctive differences I noticed between negative transfers and my chemical were major tiredness (to a much greater extent than on progesterone alone) and breast tenderness (which I don't get before AF or on progesterone usually).

@paintfairy have you bled before OTD before or is this your first transfer? Sorry I can't remember. Progesterone has always held off AF for me until I stop using it (I get a bleed about 3/4 days later) despite regular periods, so hope it will do the same for you.

I'm missing loads of people, sorry. I am trying not to even think about my own 2WW as it seems pointless to hold any hope :( Definitely haven't noticed any symptoms whatsoever. I'm probably looking for them less than previous transfers as I'm assuming it'll be BFN anyway.

MrsC2018 · 14/11/2021 19:58

@lucymills1234 I'm hesitant to say this almost, but my only success was from a PN1 embryo, my blastocyst transfers all failed. I obviously had no hope either, so it's not a bad thing to not raise your expectations but there's just no rhyme or reason to these embryos. Have you spoken to clinic at all beyond that call from the embryologist? When's your test day? Hope this week goes quickly for you

MrsC2018 · 14/11/2021 20:01

@lucymills1234 what I meant was, it's not always easy to hear people's "I was infertile for 20 years and then.....(insert impossible storey here)" when you're in the throes of everything. I hope you're ok

CycleGirl20 · 14/11/2021 20:43

Minor panic! Tomorrow is transferred day. Should I take my progesterone suppository before?! I've heard how they don't use lube and you can't even wear perfume

MrsC2018 · 14/11/2021 21:05

@CycleGirl20 I was told to make sure that I time it so that I've taken the suppository at least 2 hours before to allow it to absorb or take it after the transfer. The doc will clean your cervix so they can see what they're doing so you'll lose some of it from that too. I took mine afterwards.

Yes, don't wear perfume or anything scented as embryos don't like it - same for your partner.

MrsC2018 · 14/11/2021 21:07

@CycleGirl20 and I've no idea if they use lube on the speculum - I've never thought to ask! But I've also never found it painful - I'm normally trying not to wee on the poor doc to be fair!

2021babyhope · 14/11/2021 21:30

@CycleGirl20 you'll be absolutely fine 🥰 I was told to take mine the 'back' way if it's just the tablets!

Yep no strong smells or anything, embryos don't like it apparently!

I don't think they used lube the last time I went but I can't be sure - either way it was just a bit uncomfortable at worst - the thought of it is always worse than the actual thing! Good luck for tomorrow! X

strawberrysummer19 · 14/11/2021 21:31

@CycleGirl20 yes take the progesterone before transfer. They clean it all away but it is advised to still take it as it will get absorbed into your body still

X

makeithappen2022 · 14/11/2021 21:36

Hi everyone.
I’m new here. I’ve been Googling tonight following an update from my clinic today.
It is our day 3 and I’m feeling really disheartened with our results.
We had 19 follicles, 13 eggs retrieved, 6 fertilised, and only 1 at 7 cells today with 3 at 4 cells.
I was so hopeful with out results until fertilisation and then today with only one at an average development rate.
Feeling so nervous it won’t get to day 5 😬😭
Anyone been in the same situation? X

CycleGirl20 · 14/11/2021 21:55

Thanks ladies. I think I'll take it earlier as my transfer is mid day.

Sorry to hear that @makeithappen2022. It might not be too bad though. I don't know so much about cell numbers but I've seen a few people say lower grade embryos work surprisingly often. I'm on day 4 but didn't ask for an update on day 3. I guess I'll find out tomorrow!

makeithappen2022 · 14/11/2021 22:10

@CycleGirl20 thank you I’m trying to hold onto ‘it only takes one’
Good luck for tomorrow 😁

CycleGirl20 · 15/11/2021 07:51

@IVFGotThis05 good luck! My transfer is at lunch time. I'm thinking of whether I can walk back from the clinic 😅

strawberrysummer19 · 15/11/2021 07:56

@CycleGirl20 good luck for transfer today!

@makeithappen2022 some more may catch up
I only had one on transfer day and they said they would call me the next day if any caught up and by that afternoon another one was good enough for freeze so they can change very quickly so hoping by transfer day you may have more but as we say it only takes one xx

IVFGotThis05 · 15/11/2021 09:00

@cyclegirl20 yes you too !! Mines at 1pm, I'm having a little stress that I'm going to get a phone call this morning with bad news. Just going to keep myself busy with housework or something ! They do say to keep active I suppose!?

CycleGirl20 · 15/11/2021 09:04

@IVFGotThis05 I keep thinking about that. I need to read up on how much exercise I can do as I'm usually quite active. I was thinking of cycling back from the train but the road is quite bumpy and I'm worried it'll shake the embryo!

ginandtonicformeplease · 15/11/2021 09:17

BFN for me today. Haven't really had time to process it as DH has come down with all the Covid symptoms, but I was actually more positive about this time than all the others. Now I don't know what we'll do.

CycleGirl20 · 15/11/2021 09:27

@ginandtonicformeplease aw no that really sucks. Take care of yourself and DH and take some time Flowers
