@seven201

Do you have any private maternity places near you? I always got mine done there - think the cost was £35 or something for a hcg - my local GP always refuses hcg tests

seven201 · 12/11/2021 15:10

Thanks ladies. I have tried a few private places but no joy. A private maternity place isn't a bad idea. I will look. I'm in west Kent. I've realised I could drive to drop off my sample at medichecks on Monday (day off) - 2 hr round trip but may be worth it!

@seven201 if you've got the day off on Monday, I would travel to a blood clinic and do a full Hcg test. There are loads of places in central London near where you'd drop off for medichecks x

seven201 · 12/11/2021 15:48

I have some good blood test news. The gp called me and said run here now, so I did and he did the blood test then I had to run to the hospital to drop it off before the cut off time. My poor dd running after me saying she didn't like it! Phew! Thanks everyone for helping with my quest!

Yay! Keep me posted

@VenusStarr are u ok??

VenusStarr · 12/11/2021 15:58

Not good news for us 💔 looks like a blighted ovum. Just at the epu, they're going to rescan me and take it from there. Thank you for all the lovely support and messages ❤️ feel numb and a bit broken xx

Dochas121 · 12/11/2021 16:02

I am so so sorry @VenusStarr please take care ❤️

whatcangowrong · 12/11/2021 16:02

Oh no, so so sorry to hear that @VenusStarr. I feel gutted for you. Look after each other xx

bluepixie · 12/11/2021 16:02

Oh @VenusStarr I’m so so sorry. How many weeks r u? This is so so heartbreaking :(

VenusStarr · 12/11/2021 16:05

6+2 but the sac is measuring 7+1 @Cream123 not sure if there's bleeding inside and out too 😓 we never get out of week 6 💔 even with all the immune treatment. We're both numb x

Gardenlady543 · 12/11/2021 16:14

@VenusStarr I was so hoping for good news for you, I don't know much about scans, do you have to go back for another scan?

@seven201 I'm glad you've got the test done, when can you get the result?

bluepixie · 12/11/2021 16:23

@VenusStarr I’m so so sorry. Was there a fetal pole? I presume no HB?
The first few weeks after a mc is the worst but I promise u will rise again even though u think u never will…..

bluepixie · 12/11/2021 16:25

@VenusStarr I presume they will rescan next week and the confirm / or give u surprising good news. Might be a good idea to book in for surgery and to check if it was chromosomal if u do have to go down that route…..I’m so sorry. It’s SO *hit

tiggerwhocamefortea · 12/11/2021 16:40

So sorry @VenusStarr I hope they are looking after you at the EPU x

VenusStarr · 12/11/2021 17:22

My head is absolutely banging. So epu have found a 5mm crl foetal pole and a flicker of a heartbeat, so measuring 6 weeks. Advised to stay on my meds and back in 10 days. 4 nurses were in with us at one point and all confirmed they saw cardiac activity but there's no visible yolk but maybe hidden? So unclear x

bluepixie · 12/11/2021 17:29

@VenusStarr I think this is great news. I don’t know if u know but something similar happened to me in this pregnancy. Things are so so so small at this stage they can miss things

So I went in at 5 plus 5 after a bleed and no fetal pole no hb told could go either way but wasn’t good news (given my hx bleed etc too)

I was devastated cried all week even had a cocktail on my bday ! And then at 6 plus 4 I had no Heart beat but a fetal pole. Told again not great to not have a hb at this stage (I always had one at 6 weeks before with every single pregnancy including my son). Queue more tears for a week. Then 7 plus 3 all ok and continued to be so

My cousin just last month was told at 6 plus 3 no hb or fetal pole and is now a 11 weeks
Conclusion is at this stage everything is so little and I think early scans cause more drama but also u want to know all is ok so we all book them.

I think u have reason to believe this will be ur one. Stay strong this week. Don’t drink like I did(I still feel bad even though it was do not one!) and rest and look after urself.

bluepixie · 12/11/2021 17:30

@VenusStarr where was ur first scan? Sounds like I would totally trust epau more it sounds very promising to me 🤞

seven201 · 12/11/2021 17:43

@VenusStarr oh my goodness. What an absolute rollercoaster you're going through! I bet you just don't know what to think or feel. I hope you're home now and sitting on the sofa with your partner and trying to digest. I'm sorry you have to wait 10 more days to find out. You've been through so much.

Janefx40 · 12/11/2021 17:45

@VenusStarr I'm so so sorry. This is just the hardest thing to face. I know there's nothing we can say to make it better but we're here if you want us xxx

Dochas121 · 12/11/2021 17:51

Hopefully this is good news @VenusStarr it sounds like they are being very thorough with all the nurses checking. I hope you can rest up this evening. I’m just so sorry you didn’t get the confirmation you needed at such an anxious time.

Do you have a retroverted uterus? I have read they can make things difficult to see on early scans as it is hidden.

tiggerwhocamefortea · 12/11/2021 18:04

That's great news! 5mm is measuring right on your dates isn't it? Which hospital did you go to? You'd think create would have much better scanning machines than the NHS 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Dochas121 · 12/11/2021 18:38

So it’s good news here guys. HCG of 129 at 10dp. Back in on Monday to retest to see if it’s doubling.

We’re both in shock to be honest. Never seen a positive result before. We’ve only had horrible set back after horrible set back! It feels so weird!!! Cant believe it!

Gardenlady543 · 12/11/2021 18:53

That's amazing news @Dochas121 ! This gives me hope as a fellow never had a BFP!

That's sounds good @VenusStarr what a day for you!

tiggerwhocamefortea · 12/11/2021 18:57

@Dochas121

Congrats! Worrying how far the home test kit was out though

whatcangowrong · 12/11/2021 19:00

Amazing @Dochas121 - a result worth waiting for 😃
