@seven201 I hope you recover and test negative asap!

@Janefx40 ohh you're soon to start then!

Still waiting on fertilysis test results, it says 5-10 working days, I don't know what days they're closed for holidays, hopefully I'll get the results in the next few days. I'm not very hopeful, my pH is high again :(

Janefx40 · 28/12/2021 16:26

@Gardenlady543 I hope you get them soon. Will it be a more detailed breakdown of your vaginal flora etc?

I've been eating so unhealthily. Really need to get things under control but I'm a bit "all or nothing" when it comes to eating. I managed 18 months of strict diet (with occasional lapses) but now I'm supposed to be eating normally again, things have got a bit extreme! Be gutting to lose a hard won embryo because I couldn't stop eating chocolate!

Gardenlady543 · 28/12/2021 18:53

@Janefx40 I think it will be fairly similar as the EMMA ALICE, I just can't keep going through expensive mock cycles with a biopsy that take 3 months each time, this seems to be a lot quicker so better for me since this is my 3rd test now.

Gardenlady543 · 28/12/2021 18:55

@Janefx40 I'm sure that diet makes very little difference, I'm a healthy eater and have gone incredibly strict in most of my cycles, in my fresh cycle I went for a strict antiinflammatory diet, literally just fruit and vegetables, nothing processed, no refined sugars etc because of the hypersensitivity to progesterone, it still never works for me.

Dochas1211 · 28/12/2021 19:08

@Janefx40 I ate dreadfully during my FET and TWW. Way too much chocolate and also a few takeaways. Just couldn’t muster up the energy to eat healthily anymore! Like you I did a super strict diet for over a year and just ran out of steam.

When should your FET be roughly?

@seven201 Sorry to hear about your positive test. I hope you’re feeling ok.

@Gardenlady543 annoying about no results! Hopefully it’ll come back soon now Christmas is technically over.

Hope everyone else is doing ok!

Janefx40 · 28/12/2021 21:21

Thanks everyone. I actually ate quite healthily in my successful cycle too! Most of the diet was for egg quality anyway and that bit is done.

In my mock cycle my "transfer" day was CD19 but because this is a natural cycle it could vary slightly. So it should be around 16/17th Jan I think.

@Dochas1211 How are you?

seven201 · 28/12/2021 23:53

@Gardenlady543 fingers crossed the results come soon and are improved. Sorry about the ph.

@Janefx40 exciting that it starts so soon. I wouldn't worry about what you eat too much. Maybe cut back a little if you think you're eating only bad stuff. Sometimes I really just can't face healthy eating!

My microflora results are back!

This is the lining from my unsuccessful euploid transfer, so it shows the treatment protocol I did worked. What it doesn't tell me is if it becomes abnormal right after though!

ERA/ALICE/EMMA testing thread 2
Janefx40 · 31/12/2021 17:42

Well this is great news in terms of the treatment protocol. As you say it doesn't answer all of the questions but at least we know it's possible to bring it all back to normal.

How do you feel about it? Xxx

Gardenlady543 · 31/12/2021 18:16

@Janefx40 I'm not sure what to think, I hope it's accurate as I used so many vaginal probiotics and this isn't a biopsy but menstrual fluid. I was so sure it would be completely abnormal. I'm also not sure if it was normal after the first course of treatment as well and then it became abnormal again. I guess it's at least a small win, that I seem to have overcome something. I'm kind of shocked I thought it would be awful again.

seven201 · 31/12/2021 23:56

@Gardenlady543 oh wow!! This is really good. What a nice surprise that must be. Obviously still a bit confusing as to why the last one didn't work (maybe just bad luck). I'm really happy for you.

Happy new year everyone. Here's hoping we all get to bring home our babies in 2022!

@Gardenlady543 how expensive was it? Is this something you can test again next month (just to see if it has reverted?)

Xxx

Gardenlady543 · 01/01/2022 18:19

@Janefx40 I think it was about £550 so pretty expensive to do routinely, but easier to do than the biopsy if I wanted to do it again.

Janefx40 · 01/01/2022 20:43

@Gardenlady543 ah quite a lot then to repeat!!!

seven201 · 02/01/2022 15:50

Here here @Janefx40 . May 2022 bring healthy pregnancies (and babies for some).

Amen to that @Janefx40 how’s FET prep going? Do you have a date for transfer yet?

@Gardenlady543 that’s great news about your micro flora. It’s very confusing why your transfer didn’t work if lining wasn’t an issue. Could it be your receptive window was out given inconclusive ERA? If so even more reason to do a natural transfer and hope the receptive window will be correct?

@seven201 how are you getting on? What are your next steps in 2022?

I am waiting on a PCR on Tuesday. I got pretty much all symptoms of Omicron on New Years Day but can’t get one until Tuesday as they’re all booked up. Really hoping I’m negative. Just more stress about what the impact might be of covid at this stage.

How’s everyone else?

Are we in need of a new thread soon?

Janefx40 · 02/01/2022 22:34

Thanks for the prompt @Dochas1211

Have set up a new thread here and will tag you all in a minute

ERA/EMMA/ALICE Testing Thread 3 www.mumsnet.com/Talk/infertility/4442943-era-emma-alice-testing-thread-3

Janefx40 · 02/01/2022 22:46

I'm tagging everyone on the new thread who's posted in the past month. I don't want to exclude anyone but also don't want to add people who might be taking a break.

@Dochas1211 good luck with the Covid test. Bit rubbish that you have to wait for a test for so long. I don't think it will harm the baby but I'm sure you'd rather be well anyway! How are things going?

I had my baseline today. I have to do a PCR half way through which is terrifying. Of course I know logically that I don't want to give anyone Covid or do a transfer if I have it but it feels so stressful since people seem to be testing positive even with negative LFTs and no symptoms. I'd be so gutted if I had to delay.

There was a man in the waiting room who decided to take a FaceTime call for us all to enjoy and took his mask off to make it! It wasn't anything urgent - just a catch up with a friend. I was so pissed off. I'm so desperate not to catch Covid and he takes his bloody mask off in a small space! Plus really who needs to listen to his phone call?

Grrrrrr

Rainb23 · 06/04/2022 15:06

Hi sorry I’m coming into this quite late. I have tried reading through everything but it’s quite hard to follow what has happened m. My heart goes out to all of your losses I hope all will go well soon.

Has anyone had a successful pregnancy after achieving results with the emma and Alice tests? Anyone who did have to take antibiotics for a certain positive result?

I am thinking of of having the treatment.

Thank you all in advance!

Endure100 · 08/01/2023 18:09

Hi everyone
Looking for some help!
I've had 2 ERA 1st Gardnerella issue 2nd Streptococcus issue and due a 3rd repeat Emma. The receptivity was ok but had failed embryo transfer previously Ive had antibiotics and taking probiotics. We arr using donor eggs as over 40 however I'm losing hope as always seems to be an issue. Apart from folic acid and supplements and some exercise healthy eating is there anything else or any success stories similar! Thanks

Lizzybeth1998 · 15/03/2023 13:16

Hi.
I've had recurrent miscarriages which I believe is mostly down to my age. I've had loads of tests through Tommy's and everything comes back fine BUT then my IVF Dr mentioned ALICE & EMMA which had put my head in a spin.
The tests are very expensive, money is tight and I don't want to waste money on a potential gimmick. Dr Robert Winston says he wouldn't recommend these tests to his own family as they've not been used in a controlled trial.....but the seed has been implanted in my head and now I'm worried! I don't want to waste money but I also don't want to waste a potentially good embryo ☹️
I have no issues getting pregnant, in fact I don't miscarry, I have missed miscarriages everytime and Dr Quemby at Tommy's feels its more due to my age rather than anything else. Any thoughts, advice, experience with these tests?
Anyone needed treatment after these tests?
And what probiotic do they give you and where does it "go" into? 😆
Sorry for the essay, I'm in a pickle and this is the first place online I've found anything on these tests 😬
