@LuckyNovember indeed….. in fact they are only 39.5 Grin

I really hope you are right……. DD might even just creep into 2022 (getting waaaaaaay ahead of myself I realise!!!!)

LT103 · 29/03/2022 16:19

@Hopeful199 I def think transfer on your bday is a good sign!!! Good luck!

99pctpractice · 29/03/2022 17:43

@Cherry35 I'm so sorry that your results were not what you were hoping for. Sounds like it was a super stressful experience with DH not having any sperm in the sample and needing to do a testicular biopsy. Its so frustrating when results vary so much but hopefully your little embryo is a good one!! Sending hugs xx

Cherry35 · 31/03/2022 03:16

@99pctpractice

Yes, its so sad. Last stim he had 54 millions with 33% motility and 4 weeks zero. How can you decrease that much, then old eggs.

Just praying for this 1 embryo to survive and become our firstborn.

This IVF process just gets worse and worse.

@LuckyNovember

Best wishes on your transfer. May you get twins !

99pctpractice · 31/03/2022 15:14

Just had a scan to make sure everything was gone and got the all clear! Also had 10 (mixed size) follicles, biggest of 10mm, so the consultant said let's start stims! So kicking off stims today. Using a lower dosage than previously to hopefully maintain a bit more egg quality even if they don't grow as much so we maybe get less eggs. Feeling relieved to be able to start taking proactive steps but also crossing my fingers that this cycle is not as much of a washout as my last cycle.....also a bit nervous that if we do do a duostim cycle my second egg collection could be in the middle of my holiday so might have to just go for single stim this time and then if it's as much of a disaster talk to another clinic.....

Pinklady81 · 31/03/2022 21:02

Hello ladies just checking in how you are all doing? I've started to get period type pain been nearly 2 weeks since egg retrieval so presuming this maybe my period . The nurse said this isn't a true period so they like if they can to wait until your next period and then I can start my next cycle ?? I didn't know this was expecting I could go straight into my next round ... the clinic have t been I touch with me since last Saturday when they froze embryo as it's my first experience of ivf what are my next steps? Any tips welcome x

LuckyNovember · 31/03/2022 21:10

Hi @Pinklady81 yep, you start stimming again on the next bleed... about 6 weeks after your EC... but you can start any pre-treatment/ down reg during the coming cycle. (For example, I had to notify my clinic when I ovulated, then started oestrogen tablets 8 days later until AF when I started stimms again) It passes quickly and is quite nice to be un-bloated for a couple weeks!

LT103 · 31/03/2022 21:31

@Pinklady81 I’m the same. Withdrawal bleed started today (egg collection last week) and I haven’t had my review yet. They want me to have my next period then start FET so they told me likely end may which seems so far away!!!

Pinklady81 · 01/04/2022 17:09

Hello so I've contacted the clinic the doctor has reviewed my previous and first cycle and upped my gonal f to 300iu? Not sure what this is supposed to do and said I can start again on my next period I had my egg collection nearly 2 weeks ago and started bleeding today so presuming another months time ?

Hopeful199 · 01/04/2022 18:41

@99pctpractice really hope this one is more successful for you. Fingers crossed they have learnt lots the first time round and this will inform what they do now.

@Pinklady81 that sounds right to me. I did fresh then froze and had to wait until the bleed after the withdrawal bleed to start meds. They did do the baseline scan between 18 and 25 days after the withdrawal though so I was ready to go.

Pinklady81 · 01/04/2022 19:13

Hello@Hopeful199 sounds weird was your withdrawal bleed ok?

Hopeful199 · 01/04/2022 19:16

@Pinklady81I’m not sure if my message made sense actually!

I had a fresh transfer (BFN) and a bleed from that. Then was able to go for a baseline within the next cycle so that I could start the meds on my next period for a frozen.

As it turns out the frozen didn’t happen as I caught covid so had to wait for another withdrawal bleed and start again! Confused

noopsie · 03/04/2022 16:18

Hi 40+ peeps, weird question but how long does it usually take to get your period after a failed embryo transfer? I'm now 9 days late (not pregnant, I checked), and we can't start preparing for another embryo transfer until me period comes. I'm really worried I'm going into menopause and won't be able to transfer the 9 embryos we have in storage. Does anyone have any advice/reassurance? I'm going to contact my clinic tomorrow but I'm freaking out even more than normal

Pinklady81 · 03/04/2022 16:47

Hi everyone

I contacted the clinic as started my withdrawal bleed and wanted to know if anyone would be in touch with next steps etc... the clinic admin told me to start again next cycle with increased meds is this normal should I have another scan beforehand ? Hope everyone is okay and those who are on the 2WW are staying busy and positive xx

Bryterlayter1 · 03/04/2022 20:25

@noopsie had a withdrawal bleed 4 days after stopping progesterone, next period came about 26/27 days later. However, I think it's normal to have a delayed cycle, given all the hormones.

@pinklady81 I didn't have a scan between cycles, but that being said the clinic I was with always scan on day 1-3 of each ivf cycle to ensure there are no problems before starting meds.

Turning40andstartingIVF · 03/04/2022 20:58

Hi Ladies... I'm freaking out. I've always had a regular 26 day cycle for as long as I can remember. I'm starting IVF this month and I've been given norethisterone to start next weekend to take for 4 days then gwt a period and start stims. This evening however I seem to have started spotting when I've been to the toilet. CD 14. Do I call the clinic if this becomes a period, or will they cancel my cycle and make me start over again waiting until CD 21 to take the norethisterone? I'm really freaking out. Trust this to happen when I'm so close to starting my IVF cycle... like its this month! What is with my body 😔 xxx

Cherry35 · 04/04/2022 03:37

@Turning40andstartingIVF

Contact your clinic straightaway, if they don't answer in peak hours send them an email. They can check your bloods to see in which part of the cycle you're in.

Cherry35 · 04/04/2022 03:45

@Pinklady81

Normally you can book a nurse appointment to check all your new meds for FET near your expected CD1. In my clinic the scan is after CD8- CD10, never before a cycle. Don't worry too much, FET is much easier than stim cycle.

99pctpractice · 04/04/2022 16:23

Hi @noopsie I also had very irregular periods post-IVF. Reeeeaallly long, which is super annoying but apparently very normal. I started POAS to test for ovulation, because that would give me a more reliable measure of when to expect my period and was less depressing (and expensive) than all the POAS for pregnancy I did for my first cycle post-IVF...! Hope they get back to normal for you soon!!

99pctpractice · 04/04/2022 16:32

@Pinklady81 are you doing a new IVF cycle or prepping for an embryo transfer?

In my new cycles they have done a baseline scan after I have been taking norethisterone to check that my ovaries and uterus were "quiet" (not sure what that means in practice, I think no cysts on the ovaries or similar). I haven't had a stand-alone transfer, so don't know what usual practice is for that, sorry.

Pinklady81 · 04/04/2022 16:46

@99pctpractice I'm doing 3 rounds of embryo banking then onto a possible transfer so my next cycle will be another frozen round

noopsie · 04/04/2022 17:50

Thanks @99pctpractice I had Covid 2 weeks ago, maybe that's also a factor? Although who knows, nothing makes sense at the moment. Hope your journey is going ok x

Pinklady81 · 09/04/2022 10:07

Hello everyone

How are you all doing ? I'm on a break at the minute from treatment due to start my next round in a month or so and it's my birthday this weekend but as I'm not drinking at present how bad would it be to have a drink or two? I'm not feeling great about things at the minute another year older and no baby but don't want to be a party pooper ? Xx

LuckyNovember · 09/04/2022 13:34

Do it @Pinklady81 🥳
This is a marathon, not a sprint and life continues!! Anyway, you're off the meds, I always thought alcohol impacts a baby, but not anything like egg quality in between... in fact even in that book "it starts with an egg" she says some red wine from time to time is fine (not while actually pregnant, I think!)

Know what you mean about another year older and still no baby, but you've probably come a really long way in a year and hopefully closer than you were at your last birthday...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎂

Btw, we should be cycle buddies again - mine was a BFN this round and will probably start again asap, sometime in May....

Pinklady81 · 09/04/2022 15:10

@LuckyNovember hey thank you I'm definitely up for being cycle buddies I'm really struggling at the mo but tomorrow is a nee day and all that xx
