Hey ladies ☺️

A new thread to continue the one we've maxed out from the FET cycle buddies May/June. Anyone wishing to join no matter what stage you're at we're here to support you along the way.

A little background around me - I have a little boy who's 16mo from my second IVF round in 2019. I'm just embarking (restarting after covid setback) on my first FET cycle with the embryos I have in storage in the hope for baby #2 🤞🏼
I have severe endometriosis, hydrosalpinx tubes which have been removed so my only hope is for IVF to work again. It's been a long old journey but if I can give any hope, faith and a tonne of support to anyone who needs it I'm happy to share my story, updates on my cycle and be there to have a general chin wag ☺️

We've got this! ✨ x

Thank you! My transfer was Tuesday just gone so 5 days post 5 day transfer. My clinic doesn't recommend testing for another week!

Pingupp · 11/09/2021 16:27

@Mamaemmeline yep - test on the day the clinic tell you. Saves you stress and money on the bloody tests! Keep busy and the time will pass. It's awful the TWW but hang on in there x

2mumlife · 11/09/2021 17:33

@Mamaemmeline My implantation bleeding happened from 6dp5dt if I remember correctly

2mumlife · 11/09/2021 17:34

@Pingupp I'd kill for cake! I'm on no refined sugar, no sweetners, low carbs here so cake is totally out

Pingupp · 11/09/2021 17:41

@2mumlife you can make up for it soon!! Xx

firefly37 · 11/09/2021 18:21

Hello all,
Life has been very stressful recently so I haven't been on here much :( I hope your all feeling well?
@Bluemeadowbaby - sorry to hear about your delay. Its so frustrating but try to hold out that "everything happens for a reason" and perhaps the delay will mean success! My second fresh cycle was delayed by 2 months due to faulty blood tests - I was so angry about it but then even though we only got 3 mature eggs, one became my DD! I think to myself now that if we had gone the 2 months earlier, it may not have worked!
@Verbena87 and @2mumlife ... hope you are both feeling ok on your meds.
@Pingupp ... huge congrats! Looking forward to hearing about your scan :)
As for me, my blood results have come back. After two months of my supplements (DHEA, CoQ10 etc) my FSH is now down to 6.6 (from 15.2) and my AMH is the same level it was in 2018 ... 5! I am so shocked. Based on those numbers, we should be able to have another cycle. My estradiol was low though ... not entirely sure what this means for us? Does anyone know? It was 75 and the minimum should be 98 :S ... I have sent my results to the clinic and will see what they say.
xx

2mumlife · 12/09/2021 07:14

@Pingupp My DP has a white chocolate toblerone hidden somewhere for me for after egg collection Grin

@firefly37 Results sound really promising! Hope clinic get back to you soon. Doing good here, just taken last Frymedel injection this morning and trigger tonight for collection Tuesday. Just keeping everything crossed for the next week that it all goes well

Pingupp · 12/09/2021 07:22

@firefly37 hey! Sounds promising - fingers crossed next cycle can start soon for you. I am sorry I am not sure about the estradiol no's. Hopefully drs can sort this if it is an issue - so many ranges and scales aren't there- good AMH!! xx

@2mumlife good work on the toblerone! I'd be sniffing that out of that was in our house!!

Did anyone watch the tennis last night?!
We watched it on Amazon Prime - so good!! Not a massive tennis fan but glad I watched.

Verbena87 · 12/09/2021 08:59

Hello @firefly37! Those numbers do look way better - not sure about estradiol but fingers crossed you’re on your way to success.

@2mumlife that toblerone sounds like heaven.

@Pingupp nearly there now, keep strong.

2mumlife · 12/09/2021 12:13

@Pingupp Nah I've put a hell of a lot of effort into doing everything I possibly can for this last cycle so not even tempted by the toblerone until these eggs are out.

Feeling particularly tired today, and bloated / tender. One of my cats was cuddled and kneading on top and even that was too much pressure for today. These crazy people who get more than 15 eggs must be in agony by egg collection!

Bluemeadowbaby · 12/09/2021 20:53

@Millie029 sorry for such a delay! I didn't get any notifications for the thread! 😫 I hope I've fixed it now! I know what you mean about the dates, I have been wondering myself if it were to work for me where would that put me at for a due date - thinking way ahead way too soon 😄 - have you queried since how they work their dates out?how are you feeling? X

@Pingupp definitely feeling less stressed out now, I have taken some time this week to just calm down, take a step back and stop rushing myself around. I've taken some lovely walks, eaten lots of food, cut out the caffeine! (I was naughty and had a fair bit the last couple weeks due to pure pissedoffwaitingwaitingdrama!) I've also got one of those water bottles which remind you to refill and man I feel so good!! We live by the seaside so have had a really nice stroll there this morning, I always forget to take advantage of the sea air. How are you feeling?! X

@2mumlife how did your trigger go? I totally get where you're coming from with the more people knowing, I absolutely hated and still hate having to share because I can't kinda get around not sharing. So long as people respect your privacy that's the most important thing. How are you feeling for EC? X

@Verbena87 absolutely totally agree! I'll make nest in my little home again 🥰 I had loads of EWCM on estradiol which I found really bizarre but it's totally normal x

@Mamaemmeline welcome to the thread! How are you feeling today? If I'm honest I think I was at my absolute peak with anxiety when I had my last cycle, for me it didn't affect a thing and my little boy is sleeping soundly in his room. I did have implantation bleeding but if it wasn't for looking at the pessary applicator after I'd popped them in I would never of even known as the bleeding was never enough to reach my pants - sorry tmi 😂 Take some time out for you, find a good watch on tv or a nice book and breathe deep lovely, what will be will be - sending you lots of luck! X

@firefly37 sorry to hear life has been stressful, we're here if you need to vent it out if it gets it off your chest. I think you're right, I'm a firm believer in what's meant to be will be and the same for the right timing of things so we will see indeed! Excellent news on hopefully being able to go again soon 🥳 I'm not sure what those results mean tho, when will you find out from the clinic? X

Pingupp · 13/09/2021 11:57

@2mumlife hope you are ok. Did trigger go ok? Is tomorrow collection day??
Fingers crossed for you honey!! And then you can scoff that toblerone!
@Bluemeadowbaby glad you are feeling less stressed and lovely walks ok the seafront sound perfect. I grew up by the sea so whenever I go back and see family we have a walk on the beach ( and of course get the on obligatory fish and chips and ice cream!! )

I am ok. Panicking a bit as feel as though my symptoms I had - the bloat, funny taste in mouth etc has disappeared. They seemed to stop after my night of bad cramps on Friday - Just got a god awful feeling we are going to get bad news on Weds. I can't change it - so trying to not think about it now but it's hard.
I have been looking at holidays to Cyprus as a back up plan to bad news..... I hear Boris is going to lift stupid pcr testing soon so if we do get bad news- I am dragging Chris away for a week!

How are is everyone doing today? Xx

2mumlife · 13/09/2021 20:12

@Bluemeadowbaby Glad you're feeling less stressed and been doing some nice things to relax.

@Pingupp Hopefully it's just your body adjusting to things XXX

Trigger was last night. Been worried today as after lunch went for a gentle walk and had really quite intense stabbing pain for a couple of minutes. Scared my follicules have ruptured early. Egg collection tomorrow but not until afternoon, so just nervous now

TheDutchess3 · 13/09/2021 21:21

Good evening ladies!
I have been talking to some of you earlier on other threads, mainly while cycling in May (second ICSI attempt) which has also been unsuccessful.
I since then had 2 FET cycles, one with a chemical pregnancy and for the other one I am still waiting the result.
I don't feel like testing earlier or even on the day at all. It has been the forth transfer and I am just terrified to know the result.

I have been drowning myself in googling stuff as it seems there are always new questions popping up in my head that I never thought before (like what is the more common day of the embryo arrest, 3d or 4th, etc.) and reading the forum just to confirm once again I am not the only one feeling anxious, uncertain, asking questions and simply going through this all.

@2mumlife good luck at your puncture tomorrow!

How is the rest getting on?

Pingupp · 13/09/2021 22:06

@2mumlife hopefully all is ok and collection goes to plan. Keeping everything crossed for you xx

@TheDutchess3 I know that feeling- not wanting to know. It's tough the tww.
When is your test day?
X

Verbena87 · 13/09/2021 22:25

@2mumlife fingers crossed for you. I had awful pain even from standing by egg collection - turns out I had ‘kissing ovaries’ as they were so swollen so it may be the same for you (I didn’t have a massive number of eggs either, but they still really swelled and it killed). Hopefully nothing’s ruptured.

Take it super easy, wishing you lots of luck for collection.

2mumlife · 14/09/2021 07:42

Hello @TheDutchess3 we've chatted before. I'm keeping everything crossed for a positive outcome for you this time!

@Verbena87 Really good to know someone else whose experienced pain and it was ok! I've only got ~12 follies but a couple of them were over 20 on Friday so they must be massive by now. Slept a lot better than I thought I would. Just few more hours to go and we'll know what the situation is

TheDutchess3 · 14/09/2021 08:01

@Pingupp, the 16th (this Thursday) but here in the clinic they schedule the test day early compared to other clinics.

@Verbena87 I also had kissing ovaries on my second icsi. I had pain after the puncture and was told to take it easy and “lie down on the couch”Grin

@2mumlife I think I chatted to you more than to anyone else, also after the chemical. Btw I still have a stack of those positive tests, decided not to chuck them for now. Remember reading your question somewhere of what to do with them…
I hope everything goes smoothly for you today and you get to enjoy the evening with family!

Pingupp · 14/09/2021 08:03

@2mumlife good luck today xx

TheDutchess3 · 14/09/2021 08:13

@2mumlife Did you also have a longer cycle after your chemical?

This cycle has been a long one for me, i have only registered an LH peak on the 24th day. They said it can happen after a chemical. I also had 2 same size follicles so couldn’t stop thinking that if we could conceive naturally (we have a male factor) this cycle could have resulted in twins…

Also, every month of ovulating feels like a waste of supposedly still good eggs. Anyone else gets this feeling? I wish they would just extract them every month, no stimulation would be needed and more chances overall…

2mumlife · 14/09/2021 09:26

@TheDutchess3 I still never got rid of my positive tests either from the chemical. So silly really. I've agreed with DP she'll actually throw them out when I'm ready so I don't want to. My cycle after chemical was usual length. I started accupuncture though that cycle, and I've really found its making a difference with helping bleed being on time, and I also had a heavier bleed since being on accupuncture. I'd recommend the accupuncture, I'm finding its helping me relax and I feel like its supporting my body. Don't think I'd want to go through an extraction every month! We've got to do a freeze all with this IVF cycle due to protocol I'm on and my AMH suppoedly being high (even though I produce less follicules and eggs - makes no f'ing sense). So we wont get to transfer until I've had a natural cycle following this egg collection. Process takes forever doesn't it?

@Pingupp Thank you lovely. I broke into the Toblerone early last night and had a triangle. Looking forward to lunch, getting hungry now with fasting!

TheDutchess3 · 14/09/2021 11:56

@2mumlife, this process is unbearably long! Every time waiting for something! After my fresh transfer in May I was not allowed to go into FET the next month so had to wait until July. And like this with everything, really.

You situation with a high AMH and lower amount of follicles indeed doesn’t make sense… And i would expect them to base the decision to freeze all on the actually outcome of the stimulation, amount of eggs etc, and not on the AMH.

To your remark about the extraction… it is smth quite painful but I didn’t find it unbearable. They do it here without anesthesie but with some painkillers, and a breakfast is allowed. So thinking it would only be 1 or 2 eggs to extract per month doesn’t seem like too much to go through. Again, with a bigger goal in mind… I am just so constantly scared of the age and how these months of waiting could be opportunities, and later on the egg quality isn’t the same anymore. Literally i feel the clock ticking and just trying to think of plan b, really. Maybe freeze eggs for later or smth.

2mumlife · 14/09/2021 15:38

Hey everyone. So mixed bag with egg collection. Consultant was hoping for 8 eggs (2 of my follicules had grown to big by today to be useful he said) and we got 6. It's better than last time (4 eggs when should have got 7). Has same consultant do egg collection as last time. He was really sympathetic about having another bit of a disappointing collection. At this stage he's convinced I have an issue with my eggs not coming away from the follicule wall as they should. Trying to stay hopeful though that 6 eggs is better than 4. Feel a lot less pain than after egg collection last time which is good as well.

Partly the freeze all @TheDutchess3 is because of the protocol (antagonist) also has worse implantation rates for fresh transfer as well, so they don't want to "waste" an embryo.

On info though it said with medicated FET I could do the transfer after this withdrawal.bleed and not have to wait for a full "natural" cycle to pass so going to push for that assuming we get something to freeze everything crossed

Francesmalin · 14/09/2021 15:55

Hello everyone! Nice to see this thread. I ve just started my second IVF cycle. First one all the eggs were immature so ended up with no eggs nor embryos. Which clinics are you girl with?

TheDutchess3 · 14/09/2021 16:20

@2mumlife, congrats on 6 eggs collected. I understand you were hoping for more, but it is still a decent number. Fingers crossed for them being mature! I had 16 collected last time and was very happy but half turned out to be immature...
As to your possible "egg not coming out of the follicle" issue, I know that in UZ Ghent (Belgium) they apply a "flushing technique", so first extract the follicle liquid, and then fill it up again (with water I suppose) to maximise the chances of the egg getting out. I have read they indeed manage to get more eggs with this method than normally...

Welcome @Francesmalin! Sorry to hear about your first IVF outcome. What was your FSH medicine dose and how many days were you stimming for?
