Hi all, I had a search and didn't see a thread for September/October. If there is one already please let me know and I'll join. I'll be starting stims at the end of September/early October with the Lister. I'm pretty terrified tbh, would be happy to hear from anyone else starting around the same time. I'm a first-timer and we'll be having ICSI (possibly IMSI).

Thanks both@Dizzyhedgehog. @Bobtat

I'm having a bad day

I had transfer last Saturday. Test day is 28th I'm not showing any signs or symptoms. Is it too early for symptoms ? Is Saturday classed as day 1 or is Sunday day 1 ? I think im having little cramps then im wondering if I'm imagining it.

Aim2912 · 19/10/2021 17:06

@Justawannabemam...yep i been quite all week as have had a bit of a roller-coaster week! on my lining check scan i was told i had fluid in my uterus cavity, but my lining it self was fine, my consultant asked me to come back 2 days later and the fluid had moved out in the cervix but the lining appeared thinner . went in for a third check today, the fluid was still in the cervix but the lining was quite good. so my i have been booked in for transfer next Tuesday, but they will scan me the day before, before the thaw the embryo to ensure the fluid has fully gone. so hoping for the best for now. my consultants been very supportive though all this which has helped.

how is your two week wait coming along?

Aim2912 · 19/10/2021 17:12

wow so many BFP's that is amazing, how exciting!!!

congratulations @Bobtat @Csparkles @Lilipa

look after your self and hope the next few months go smoothly for you all

Justawannabemam · 19/10/2021 17:13

@Aim2912 things could turn out good for you,m at least they never ruled it out . Rootin for you for next week. !

Erm well my 2 ww is going okay. Although apart for a little twinge (I think) I'm not showing anymore symptoms. But then maybe it's too early. It has only been 3 days ago and I am definitely symptom spotting. Which probably isn't helping I'm so tempted to test even thou I know its far too early. I read a lady had done a test 5 or 6 days post transfer and got a +. So I'll have to try and not do that . I've been for a walk with a work friend today and I was tempted to tell her but I can't bring myself to incase it goes Pete tong!

How you feeling in general ? Try and relax (easier said that done I know)).

Aim2912 · 19/10/2021 17:18

@Justawannabemam just read your last message... sorry your having a bad day, i think everyone is different, i know many people who didnt feel a thing and got a BFP, so hang in there. i know reading on here and seeing what others are feeling can easily make you start comparing. both my sisters didnt feel anything when they have fallen pregnant, before 6/7 weeks.

Justawannabemam · 19/10/2021 18:27

Thanks @Aim2912 .

I think your right. Everyone is different and I shall just wait and see. X

Dizzyhedgehog · 19/10/2021 19:23

I'm just a little tired, keep feeling nauseous and have some little twinges. These are apparently possible side effects of the Utrogest I'm taking, though. They are also usually my first signs of pregnancy but I don't think I can rely on anything at the moment. So I wouldn't worry too much about a lack of symptoms. (I've also got an annoying cold that doesn't want to go away.)

Why do some of the clinics not do blood tests for confirmation? Wouldn't that be much more reliable? I keep having to go in to have my bloods checked.

Justawannabemam · 19/10/2021 19:38

@Dizzyhedgehog purs said because of the shortage of blood bottles. I'm okay with that thou cos I'd have to drive 2 n half hours . Maybe my GP will do them.

On another subject. I've just checked and I only have 4 of the needle ends left. Do you think I'd be able to get any from my GP or a pharmacy ?

Dizzyhedgehog · 19/10/2021 19:45

@Justawannabemam 😳 Is there anything the UK isn't short of at the moment? Goodness. I'm starting to feel like we might have to take care packages over when we visit our family at Christmas. 😂

I could have had the blood tests done at my GP or my gynaecologist as well, but the drive is fine in my case.

Regarding the needles, I got all of mine at the pharmacy. They came with the medication but I've got way too many needles. Is it those ones you pop on the front of the pen thing?

Lilipa · 19/10/2021 19:57

@Justawannabemam have you checked the Medbasic website? This is where I had bought my needles but this was before the shortages. Not sure if they have any stock still there

Justawannabemam · 19/10/2021 20:04

@Dizzyhedgehog no its the ones for the syringes.

Ill ring the unit tomorrow . Maybe they can telephone a pharmacy or my surgery for me to collect some

unknownscot · 19/10/2021 20:15

I did a medichecks blood test today as my clinic is just a hpt

paintfairy · 19/10/2021 20:17

Oh wow! So much happening. Congratulations @Bobtat @Csparkles @Lilipa that's amazing! 🥳🥳🎉🎉 Brilliant news to read.
@Justawannabemam I know it's hard waiting, but no symptoms doesn't necessarily mean it's bad. Hang in there.
@Aim2912 what a rollercoaster. Fingers crossed for you that everything goes the right way. How frustrating.

Dizzyhedgehog · 20/10/2021 06:09

So, pregnancy test was negative this morning, so I guess I'm out for this round. I'll still get the blood tests done but our appointment on Friday will have to be about next steps.

Well, at least I can go back to exercising now. I've felt increasingly chubby these last few weeks and it annoys me. (I had been told no exercise...not even swimming or yoga.) Was playing hide and seek with DS yesterday and felt out of breath after running for only a few meters.

Bobtat · 20/10/2021 09:54

@Dizzyhedgehog sorry to hear about your result. Really disappointing. Hope you are looking after yourself and being looked after this week. Do you have much idea on what you want to do for next steps from your side?

paintfairy · 20/10/2021 10:46

@Dizzyhedgehog I'm sorry to read that. Hugs xxx

Lilipa · 20/10/2021 11:09

@Dizzyhedgehog I'm sorry to hear. Blood tests on Friday night still show positive result, there's still hope till then.

I know how you feel though. I also have blood test booked for Friday. But I did a test on Monday and it was a faint line. Did another one this morning and the line was even fainter than Monday. Sad So sad to see this and I do not feel that things will go well this round. It is my first transfer but I was hoping it would work Sad

Justawannabemam · 20/10/2021 11:59

@Dizzyhedgehog sorry to hear about your negative. Hopefully they will suggest something that will make u feel better.

I know what you mean about exercise. I normally go every day to the gym, and I'm not doing that. The only thing I'm doing is walking the dog. And even now she's sick of me taking her out x

Try and have a rest day . See what your blood test brings take care. X

Aim2912 · 20/10/2021 12:52

@Dizzyhedgehog so sorry to hear that, take the time you need to recover and look after your self. The journey is a hard one, but you'll get there soon hopefully. X

@paintfairy thank you.hopefully will get there slowly but surely.

Sarah2328 · 20/10/2021 13:13

@Dizzyhedgehog sorry to hear it's been unsuccessful, stay strong 😘 x

Justawannabemam · 21/10/2021 13:29

I genuinely think I am out this time. I'm sure I had a bit of something when I went the toilet this morning. Like what I get before I start my period. Would I have a period on progesterone? And so ive done a test. A early detection and it was negative. So not even the trigger shot was picked up. I had my transfer last Saturday? And my trigger shot was the Saturday before.
Whats people think. I think im better getting into my head now before OTD .

Lilipa · 21/10/2021 13:55

@Justawannabemam The trigger could have left your body as early as a week after you took it so it sounds like this is why the pregnancy test didn't detect it. I was reading yesterday some scientific papers that were proving that of someone tests after IVF they could get false negative because the hCG might have left the urine and can only be detected in the blood. Therefore the doctors telling us to only test on a certain day with blood test.

I'm taking hCG blood test tomorrow morning and I'm so nervous... I had a faint positive on Monday, then on Wednesday the faint line was even fainter so I don't know what to expect. I had symptoms last weekend but they've gone away as well so I'm not thinking positively unfortunately. I'll have to wait one more day to find out.

Justawannabemam · 21/10/2021 14:38

Aww try and think positive you've had a positive so hopefully your bloods will detect it.

Thank you for your advise. I literally don't know what to think. I knew it was too early, but then when I saw the negative I thought whys it not even picked up from the trigger shot. My boyfriend will go mad I've tested early (maybe I won't tell him, ) and hopefully next Thursday we will get a nice surprise.

Will you find out straight away when they've taken your bloods? I wont be going back to have my bloods taken bc of this shortage on bottles. They gave me a urine one to do.

And ive sorted out some more needles. My GP come up with the goods.

Dizzyhedgehog · 21/10/2021 14:39

@Justawannabemam It might just be a little early, still. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

@Lilipa I had the same. Symptoms have gone, so I guess it was the medication. It's a shame but I'm hoping we can use our appointment tomorrow to plan the next round. I'm clinging on to the idea that this means we might still have the chance to have twins with the next round. Chances are slim, I know...but it's better than nothing. I'm just a little worried that we'll have to wait until after Christmas, which doesn't work with me being naturally impatient.

paintfairy · 21/10/2021 14:47

@Justawannabemam I think the trigger leaves some people much earlier. When we did iui I tested about 6 days after the trigger as my plan was to test it out, to be fully sure by test day that it was a genuine result. There was absolutely nothing on the test! I have never seen a positive test through any means. 🤣 Ridiculous.
