@Etonmess20 they have messed me around so much in the past but the only thing that worked was that I sent a really strongly worded email with all of the dates said in email, in letters and on we the phone and said the difference and chasing had caused undue anxiety and cc’d in Guys complaints department. They rang me 2 minutes later asking me to come in the next day and retract the complaint 🤷🏼‍♀️

GJW2018 · 09/07/2021 15:10

It was the only the only thing that got me started otherwise I think I’d still be waiting now (from our 2019 referral!)

Etonmess20 · 09/07/2021 15:14

@GJW2018 I remember you saying you had to complain in the end. Is it the PALs team you copied in or someone else?
What's your view on it all? If you were me do you think it would be worthwhile? I'm trying really hard to put it all into perspective but I am struggling as I'm so upset about it all.

Vparisi · 09/07/2021 15:21

@Etonmess20 I imagine, you must feel absolutely devastated, what a hopeless situation. Feel so so frustrated for you. I just don't understand why they would say a couple of weeks to you if that was so far from the truth. If I were you I would do a @GJW2018 and send an email like that saying they told you a couple weeks and then 2-3 months last week and now it has jumped to 16. It is not on.

Thanks, I am not vehemently against it, I am just desperate to be pregnant ASAP and was so happy yesterday thinking I could be next month, and then today now realising they really are just doing a freeze all. Makes it feel like my wait was just extended another month really. But I hate to complain about that with what you're going through!! Let us know when you hear back from them xxxxxx

EmJay19 · 09/07/2021 15:21

@Etonmess20 sorry it’s a bit of a shit show for you atm. So much waiting!!!

My frozen transfer went well today thanks guys. Didn’t have a full enough bladder the first time so had the pleasure of the speculum twice🤣
🤞 now!
Anyone read up on what’s good to eat post transfer?

GJW2018 · 09/07/2021 15:23

@Etonmess20 I think if you’ve got evidence of them giving you different dates and I said I had a friend (people from this group) that was referred after me that was being seen before me, which was true, then there is definitely enough reason. If it says on your letter 8 weeks and it’s been 10 and you’ve phoned and they’ve said another 4 weeks I would email Guys and just cc them in. I just really talked about the unnecessary stress and anxiety this lack of and inconsistent communication had caused and asked them their procedure for making an official complaint. It wasn’t PALs I copied in the address was [email protected]

Hi all,
I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your journey. I’ve read all the posts from your old thread through to this thread and I must say it is truly helpful!
I’m at the “start line” for my treatment (my hospital consultant made my referral Monday). I will be needing PGD as I have a genetic condition which each child has a 50% chance of getting without PGD. I had my genetic testing done at Guy’s a few years ago who confirmed that I am eligible for up to 3 rounds on the nhs and my referral for IVF - PGD came from my consultant in the neurology department at Guy’s so fingers crossed that helps to speed up the process.
I wish you all the best of luck in your journey and look forward to reading the rest of your stories.
Bella x

GJW2018 · 09/07/2021 15:38

@EmJay19 that’s so exciting! I have been reading into this, lots of people have said this juice from M&S does wonders it’s called revitalise or something, it’s the purple beetroot and pomegranate one.
@Vparisi I’ve definitely been feeling the frustration with the freeze all as well but I feel like I won’t even be thinking about this when baby comes so just have to grin and bear that patience I’ve been practicing for the past 4 years! I feel like I’ve waited this long for my baby what’s another month 🙄

Etonmess20 · 09/07/2021 16:57

So here is my email to the IVF nurses with the complaints team copied in.
They may well legitimately have a different waiting list for freeze all patients (which is fine) but I still am annoyed at the lack of consistent & accurate communication! Hopefully it gets some movement but appreciate it may not - it's not going to make this ridiculously long wait any worse is it so what have I got to lose!

Thanks all so much for the support today (& everyday) ladies, so much appreciated ❤️

Vparisi · 09/07/2021 17:21

Thanks @GJW2018 you're so right, what's another month after all this waiting!! Can I pls pick your brain on how frozen transfer works in terms of timeline, cycle days etc??

@Etonmess20 great email and I hope you get a response asap, it's a truly horrible start to the weekend for you and we are always here for venting! X

Welcome @Bellwells !! Must have been a lot of reading for you with many ups and downs ha. Hope your referral is confirmed soon. Definitely lots of support, knowledge and experience here for you

EmJay19 · 09/07/2021 17:51

Etonmess20 · 09/07/2021 17:57

@becarefuloutthere @Vparisi thank you!! Worst case I'll be in the same position I already am!!

GJW2018 · 09/07/2021 18:54

@Etonmess20 great email. Hopefully you get a response ASAP!
@EmJay19 no worries I’ve been drinking my own weight in that and Pom as well as eating hundreds of Brazil nuts!
@Vparisi pick away! Xx

Vparisi · 09/07/2021 19:05

@GJW2018 so I literally know zero about it...so if I'm doing the freeze all in Aug can I do the transfer in Sept or does it have to be longer? What kind of drugs do you go on and for how long for until transfer? Thank you!

GJW2018 · 09/07/2021 22:22

@Vparisi no worries! So the stims process is exactly the same. You don’t take any medication after EC then on day 5/6 they call you and let you know how many have been frozen. Then you should get your period 7-10 days after EC (I got mine 12 days after) and you can start you FET cycle that cycle. When you start your period you email them to tell them and just take oestrogen tablets everyday from day 1 then they will book you in for a scan to check your lining they said between days 10-14, mines booked for day 12. Then if it’s thick enough (I want to say at least 8mm?) they say to switch to progesterone for 5 days then you go in for transfer. @EmJay19 might have a clearer idea or correct me if any of that is wrong as I’ve not got that stage yet! I’m on the oestrogen at the moment and haven’t noticed any side effects except that I’m super full all the time so haven’t been eating much. I’ve got my day 12 scan a week today. She said if it’s not thick enough then they ask you to come in for another scan a few days later and then hopefully switch to progesterone. I’m not sure if you carry on with the oestrogen while taking the progesterone? Will ask at my scan next week. Ours has been a lot longer as we took a month off in between cycles.

HereToLearnAndShare · 10/07/2021 00:40

@Etonmess20 you are right, there is nothing to lose so better try! Hope the email makes them move. Fingers crossed!

@Bellwells welcome. Hope you have your first appt soon.

@GJW2018 Thank you for sharing. I wanted to ask the same question as this was not very clear to me.

EmJay19 · 10/07/2021 06:48

@Vparisi @GJW2018 yes that’s pretty much it except I stayed on the oestrogen aswell as progesterone and still on both until test day. The Dr said anything from 7mm is ok.

morganablue · 10/07/2021 10:41

They are already 20 min late for my ET and I swear I am gonna pee on the floor 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

Vparisi · 10/07/2021 11:16

Thanks sooo much @GJW2018 that is soo helpful! I didn't know anything about it so thanks a lot. @EmJay19 also.

@morganablue good luck!! I would actually die. I have the bladder strength of a 100 year old haha. Thinking of you xx

GJW2018 · 10/07/2021 12:12

@EmJay19 oh amazing good to know! What day of your cycle did you have your lining scan and ET? I’m trying to work out dates. Thank you! ☺️

@morganablue good luck today! Hopefully you’ve been able to empty your bladder by now!

becarefuloutthere · 10/07/2021 12:51

@morganablue this was me!! Think it was 50 mins in the end and I needed no2, not good!! Hope you're in now and PUPO!! 🤞🏾

EmJay19 · 10/07/2021 13:12

@morganablue thinking of you!

EmJay19 · 10/07/2021 13:16

Hi @GJW2018 my scan was day 17 and lining was good so didn’t need to go back and arranged the transfer then for 8 days later, day 25

GJW2018 · 10/07/2021 13:55

@EmJay19 ok brilliant thank you. Good to have an idea of roughly when it could be. How are you feeling? When’s your test day? Xxx
