@Vparisi thanks and absolutely! The scan is more for reassurance than sex tbh, that's just a bonus! Hope you're ok?! X

HereToLearnAndShare · 08/09/2021 17:18

@becarefuloutthere ah thats super exciting. Let us know after the scan! In terms of traveling, I find different information on internet - some some say is safe to travel during the first 12 weeks only, then other say is safe between 16 and 20 week, so I am so confused. How didi you feel about the flights?

@GJW2018 I didnt know that about the 5AA! I know i have one 5BB, but not sure about the rest. i assume they will tell me with the transfer. My partner is very keen about having a boy, so we were joking that he can make a deal with the nurses to arrange that 😅 its crazy how they know the sex from day 2-3 🤪
As @Vparisi said for me the most important is to have a healthy baby! But I think he will be genuinely disappointed if we have a girl 😂

@HereToLearnAndShare agreed! We’ve decided not to find out as we’d love the surprise but it is fun to look at the old wives tales and guess. I’m genuinely not bothered either way and neither is DH. We had a scan yesterday and the heart rate was 181 bpm which they said is more likely to be a girl but 5AAs are more likely to be boys so who knows. I enjoy the guessing! Xx
Hope all goes well tonight @becarefuloutthere xxx

HereToLearnAndShare · 08/09/2021 18:15

@GJW2018 o wow even the heart beat can help with guessing? 😅 Did you decide on the combined tests, do you plan to do them?

OP posts:
GJW2018 · 08/09/2021 20:29

@HereToLearnAndShare I’m a bit confused between the one that our private clinic offers and the NHS one as I think they might be the same thing. We’ve got a consultation with the private clinic next week so will get some clarity then. I think they’re called NIPT? I’m don’t know much about it 🤷🏼‍♀️

becarefuloutthere · 08/09/2021 23:16

@HereToLearnAndShare I was 13+4 or something when I flew and it was fine. I felt worried when there was turbulence tho but clearly I didn't need to be as baby is fine.
Scan revealed it's a girl 💖 I was convinced it was a boy due to embryo grade but baby's a she!
@GJW2018 thank you 🙏🏾 you might be carrying a girl! I was and still am so shocked that I am! Good on you for not finding out, the surprise will be wonderful!

GJW2018 · 09/09/2021 01:28

Oh wow @becarefuloutthere that’s amazing news! Congratulations on your little princess! 💖

becarefuloutthere · 09/09/2021 09:01

Thank you 🙏🏾 @GJW2018

HereToLearnAndShare · 09/09/2021 14:19

@becarefuloutthere heyyy congrats! Thats great news 👶 🥰

OP posts:
HereToLearnAndShare · 09/09/2021 14:22

@GJW2018 I am not exactly sure about the differences, but as we want to do these type of tests I will be def researching when the time comes. Please share your experience once you have more clarity ☺️

OP posts:
becarefuloutthere · 09/09/2021 14:49

Thank you @HereToLearnAndShare oh and the NIPT is the one they do at 10 weeks and you get all your screening tests and the sex much sooner than the nhs. This wouldn't be what guys do but a private clinic like @GJW2018 says, best of luck with whatever you go with to the both of you 💖

HereToLearnAndShare · 13/09/2021 14:40

@becarefuloutthere Thank you so much for the info ❤️

How is everyone doing?

@Vparisi did Guys call you to plan the scan? They booked mine for the 12.10 and the consent (online) meeting for the 7th

@morganablue are you starting your next round in Sep?

@Sarah2328 I hope you have some updates on the starting dates.

@thislittlebird did you start the sims?

@HereToLearnAndShare when do you need to start your meds? How long does it usually take before you're ready for transfer?

Hope everyone else is all good, I'm on holiday still, 5+3 today & got my 3+weeks on the CB digital this morning. Swings & roundabouts though as I also have a UTI & had to see a private Doctor for antibiotics....€135 😂
Lots of love to you all x

HereToLearnAndShare · 13/09/2021 17:07

Hey @Etonmess20 I deliberately didnt tag you in the previous post cos I didnt to bother during your vacation ☺️

Its unfortunate you need to take antibiotics now, but I think 9 months its a quite long period so I assume most of pregnant women take them at some point. I am sure all will be fine 😊

The plan is to start with my next period in end of Sept, so they booked me for a scan on 12.10 Hopefully the period will be on time so that all goes as planned 🤞

@HereToLearnAndShare oh don't worry about that, nice to hear from you!! I'm also covered in heat rash too (I never get heat rash) so have been out of the sun more than I usually would be!
I'm fairly susceptible to UTIs anyway & they tend to end up in my kidneys if I'm not careful so I'm happy to be taking antibiotics that are 100% safe, can't be avoided!
That's exciting, not too much longer then! Hopefully AF turns up on time for you this time! How are you feeling about it all?

HereToLearnAndShare · 13/09/2021 18:28

@Etonmess20 ah thats def unpleasant to happen during a beach vacation! However, as the news for your pregnancy are still so fresh, I assume a rush could not spoil the mood as much 🥰

Yes,if AF is on time, then not too long to wait. I am trying not to get too excited, but I feel quite positive about the transfer 🙂

thislittlebird · 13/09/2021 19:21

@HereToLearnAndShare hey, yeah I started and finished the stims, it was only 5 days of Letrozole and did a trigger shot on Friday night. I have a positive OPK today but I know that could just be the trigger in my system (although it was not positive yesterday and they normally aren’t positive for me ever).

GJW2018 · 14/09/2021 07:20

Woohoo for your 3+ @Etonmess20 but boo for the UTI. I have had some signs of one coming on but ward it off with d-mannose which is really good and safe in pregnancy.
@HereToLearnAndShare getting my NIPT today at 10 and a half weeks the one we’re getting is called NACE 24 and is supposed to be the most comprehensive as it checks all 24 chromosomes. They can tell you the sex but we’ve decided not to find out.
@thislittlebird this is exciting that the ball is rolling, sending you so much loveable luck for this cycle! ✨

Etonmess20 · 14/09/2021 09:01

@HereToLearnAndShare it's not been the best but hopefully by the end of today I'll be feeling a bit better! No definitely not, we still can't believe it if I'm honest. We've got a scan for 27th so hopefully it'll sink in a bit more then!
Glad you're feeling positive about it, it definitely helps! I also did the old wives tales of McDonald's chips afterwards & keeping my feet warm throughout the TWW - I also barely did any lifting, I mean literally nothing except the kettle 😂

@thislittlebird good to hear you're doing ok, hope this cycle goes well for you!

@GJW2018 id forgot you said about that before actually, I might get some when we get home because I'm keen to avoid this again. The problem with me is I don't get the classic UTI symptoms, I just get later when it's horrendous kidney pain so maybe the prevention would be better for me. Do you take them all the time or only when you get symptoms?
Can't believe you're 10 & a half weeks, time flies doesn't it? Good luck with your tests!

GJW2018 · 14/09/2021 09:20

@Etonmess20 it’s a powder, I get it from Cytoplan it has cranberry in it as well. The doctor recommended it when I was having them regularly and said it’s safe for pregnancy. So I think it says to take a teaspoon if you’re full blown suffering I’m not sure how many times a day but I just take half a teaspoon if I start getting twinges/pain when weeing and it just stops it in its tracks. Might be worth having half a teaspoon a day or something? Thank you, just on the way for tests and have a scan first. Even though I’ve had loads of scans now the scanxiety never gets any easier! Just can’t wait till I can feel them moving around in there for reassurance! Hope you’re feeling better soon and can enjoy your hols! Xxx

HereToLearnAndShare · 14/09/2021 19:38

@GJW2018 Thank you for sharing! Was that private or NHS? If private what was the price, if you dont mind me asking.
Did you decide not to know the sex until the birth or at this stage?

@thislittlebird good luck with the cycle. Hope everything goes well!

OP posts:
GJW2018 · 14/09/2021 21:53

@HereToLearnAndShare this was private and was £600. They tell you the sex from the test but we’re not finding out till the birth as we want the surprise. Just want to know everything is a ok with the baby! Baby looked like an actual baby at today’s scan and was wriggling around touching its toes 💖

Etonmess20 · 15/09/2021 07:58

@GJW2018 I'm definitely going to look into that, it's worth a go of it stops me getting like this!
How many scans have you had now? I've got one with Guys on 27th when I'll be 7+3 but was tempted for another before the 12 weeks.
That's amazing they were looking like a proper baby, bet it was lovely to see! When do you get your results back?

GJW2018 · 15/09/2021 08:26

@Etonmess20 yes it’s really good and doctor recommended! I’m averaging about a scan a week. They’re worth it if you’re worried like my symptoms disappeared so had one for peace of mind. There’s loads of places you can go locally for private scans so if you feel like you need one I’d definitely book. 2 weeks to get the blood test results back 🤞🏻
