@GJW2018 - thank you!! I called them up but they are shut due to bank holiday weekend so will just go for a walk in on Tuesday morning .

By the way is their no chance that Guys clinic can do the blood hcg or progestone for us?

GJW2018 · 29/08/2021 10:57

@Rj1988 I don’t know if it’s something they offer.
Just googled it and I’m sure there are places that are open on the bank holiday. Found this place which is much cheaper than the clinic I’ve been using.

@Rj1988 congratulations 🥳 great news! Also get the clearblue weeks test, they're good for keeping you going until the viability scan. Good luck! X

Rj1988 · 29/08/2021 11:28

@becarefuloutthere - I did the clear blue test this morning not the digital one but unfortunately the lines seems to have become very very faint now

@GJW2018 - thank you!! I did see this website and they have a walk in Fulham so let me try them out

Rj1988 · 29/08/2021 15:44

@GJW2018 - I went to Harley street to try my luck. Unfortunately not a single place was open.

I found this site online who offer hcg & progestone together for £69 and this is by far the cheapest I have found

www.meliohealth.co.uk/product/early-pregnancy-test

I have booked my bloods for Wednesday so will wait until then and keeping my fingers crossed the lines get darker xx

GJW2018 · 29/08/2021 18:40

@Rj1988 that definitely sounds like the most reasonable. As I said I would just take one with your first morning urine as it will be fainter during the day. It’s crazy isn’t it you wait all this time for this result and straight away stress! It’s great that you having symptoms, I would try and just enjoy the fact that it worked! ✨✨

canoechick · 29/08/2021 23:11

Hi all , hoping it’s ok to join here . I’m going through IVF with PGD via kings at the moment due to my DD who is 3 genetic condition. Anyone else going for PGD? .

Have just completed egg extraction bit last week and got d5 results today - I was very hyperstimulated but escaped without OHSS fortunately and so it’s work out well for me that ended up with lots of embryos as only statistically 50% will be useable due to the genetic condition so I’m hopeful now that a good chance of having a frozen embryo to use

Got to wait 3-4 weeks for the genetics results now but was wondering if anyone knows what the time frames for frozen embryo transfers are after that ??

HereToLearnAndShare · 30/08/2021 10:17

@Rj1988 congratulations! So happy for you. 🥳 Hope you get the tests asap so you can be 100% sure

I just received a call from Guys with great news: 7 embryos to freeze so far and a few more to monitor by tomorrow! 🥳 I am super happy with the outcome

@Etonmess20 they told me the call will be tomorrow (day 6) but I am glad they called earlier.
Canaries sounds great ☺️

@canoechick welcome! I had EC last week and they told me that if I dont have OHSS symptoms I can do the transfer with my next period. With Guys there is no waiting list for the first transfer, not sure about Kings though.

@HereToLearnAndShare congratulations, that's great news!

becarefuloutthere · 30/08/2021 10:32

@HereToLearnAndShare that is amazing news 👏🏾 congratulations 🎉

GJW2018 · 30/08/2021 10:57

@HereToLearnAndShare woohoo that’s amazing! Xxx

HereToLearnAndShare · 30/08/2021 19:03

My period just started, which is 10 days before my normal due date. Does anyone with freeze all experienced the same? I am not sure if I can start the meds now.. I will be calling tomorrow to ask.
@GJW2018 did your period come shortly after the EC or it was as normal?

@Vparisi good luck tomorrow! I hope you will get answers and a clear action plan 🙏

OP posts:
GJW2018 · 30/08/2021 20:05

@HereToLearnAndShare they did say it would come between 5-7 days after EC although mine was about 10 days after. Have you got your FET meds already? If so I think you’re supposed to start the oestrogen on day 1 or 2 when your period comes. Definitely email them today and maybe follow up with a call tomorrow.

Yes hoping you get some clarity and an action plan tomorrow @Vparisi

Good luck with your appointment tomorrow @thislittlebird

HereToLearnAndShare · 30/08/2021 20:20

@GJW2018 yes, I do have the meds. Its just that I read in he forums that this could be a withdrawal bleed and I need to wait until the natural period. So decided to wait until tomorrow and ask. Yes, its 1 or 2nd day so it should be fine.

@Rj1988 forgive me if I am wrong, but I think you had some period issues after EC?

@thislittlebird good luck to you tomorrow 🤞

Rj1988 · 30/08/2021 20:58

@HereToLearnAndShare - congrats!!! These are some super amazing numbers so happy for you ThanksStarStar

Sorry I was out all day so couldn't reply earlier! My periods started literally 3-4 days after EC but what was worse for me was that my next period cycle was only 12 days long but the one after that was back to normal which is 30 days ...

I hope this helps and I think it's normal for your periods ( withdrawal bleeding) to start earlier after all the hormones

Rj1988 · 30/08/2021 21:44

@GJW2018 - my symptoms are very on and off.. sometimes I will have bouts of nausea and then at other times literally nothing

Have you informed your local GP or midwives about your pregnancy yet? I am just wondering if I should let them know now just in case or after I've had first viability scan

GJW2018 · 30/08/2021 22:11

@Rj1988 symptoms are the worst, mine have come and gone the whole time and every time they go I panic but it’s definitely normal and not an indication of anything. I lost mine Friday but had a scan today and everything was a-ok. I emailed Guys and said should I notify my local midwife/antenatal dept and they said to wait until after my scan with them which I did. After I had the scan with Guys last week I filled out the online form with my local hospital and they said I’ll receive a letter with a date for 12 week scan within two weeks. I’m heading back to school this week which will be good to distract me from overthinking but I’m terrified of getting Covid. Oh the joys! Xxx

Etonmess20 · 31/08/2021 07:24

Good luck with your appointments today @Vparisi & @thislittlebird

Vparisi · 31/08/2021 12:44

Thanks so much for the lovely wishes all and for remembering! Means so much. Spent Friday to Monday in Barcelona getting some sun and a distraction from all this which was really lovely. Feeling a bit more positive after the call this morning but we will see. So the dr said they see this in less than 5% of people and basically there are some things medicine can't explain but not to give up yet. She said the working theory is immunity to the trigger so to try again and they would use a different protocol with the info they have. Obviously that is trial and error as they don't even know it had anything to do with the trigger but she said not to think it is completely over.

So with the three they have, they will unthaw them all and culture them until day 5 (not sure I really understand this as why freeze on day 1 if you are going to unfreeze and leave til day 5 anyway) and if they got 2 high quality blastocysts they will only transfer one but if there are say two that aren't developing as well they would transfer two. Overall it was pretty helpful even if there was no explanation as she kept saying not to feel negative so we will see.

@Etonmess20 congrats on your two in the freezer! So exciting. Not long til test day now!!! Can't believe it. How are you feeling? Getting impatient? So exciting about the Canaries.

@HereToLearnAndShare omg 7 to freeze!! That is amazing. Sooo happy for you!! Fingers crossed for the others. Yes my period came 6 days after EC and it was fine to start FET straight away. How was Edinburgh?? Think that is next on my list.

@Rj1988 congrats on your BFP, incredibly happy for you. Hope it all goes smoothly

@GJW2018 hope you are feeling ok with the nausea. Good luck with heading back to school - gosh at this point you would think every child has had it by now.

@thislittlebird how did it go today?

Etonmess20 · 31/08/2021 12:54

@Vparisi glad your appointment went well - does seem like there's lots of positives to take forward. Are you going to go with the 3 frosties for now for a next cycle transfer then go from there? If you were to do another full cycle I assume this would be privately funded?
Glad you got some sunshine, you deserved it after a tough few weeks, hopefully things are looking up now!

Nope not longer at all, going to do FMU Sunday which is OTD. Currently 6dp5dt & symptoms have been coming & going but really trying not to think about it too much or over analyse anything. I had the tiniest bit of spotting on Sunday which COULD have been implantation but god only knows! 😬 we go away a week tomorrow which either way I really need 😂

Rj1988 · 31/08/2021 14:46

@GJW2018 - take care! I thought the 2ww wait was bad but this wait till the viability scan is worse! Not knowing what's happening in there.

@Vparisi - it makes sense why they chose to freeze all on day 1. So I had 20 eggs collected and only 11 got fertilised I was very lucky that I had atleast 1 which made it to blastocyst otherwise I would have never even got to the FET stage cause they discarded all the remaining 10 slow growing embryos

I think in your case even if all of them are slow growers they will still transfer it as they will have a better environment to grow inside you than in the lab... Wish you all the luck xx

@Etonmess20 - spotting is good sign, keeping my fingers crossed for you xx

Etonmess20 · 31/08/2021 15:12

@Rj1988 I'm really hoping so!! Really trying not to get my hopes up 😬
How have you been feeling? Have you managed to sort some blood tests yet?

HereToLearnAndShare · 31/08/2021 16:09

@Vparisi that sounds promising! I am glad they setup an action plan. So they will unthaw them with your next period before estimated transfer date or they will do now and freeze them again?

We have one more embryo in the freezer today ♥️
They said I need to wait to the next period though. The nurse said this is not a proper period so I need to wait to the next one 🤷‍♀️ I feel I shouldn't have asked, but just inform them that I started the oestradiol with the first day of bleeding (as the doctor instructed me)...may be they just didnt have an available time slot for a scan and pushed me back for next month 🙄 Anyway, one more month is not a big deal.

@Rj1988 ah I can imagine, waiting at this stage must be stresfull.

@Sarah2328 did you receive the call?

OP posts:
Sarah2328 · 31/08/2021 16:22

@HereToLearnAndShare hey, hope your well?
I’m still awaiting a call 😔, It will be 10 weeks on Thursday. I emailed them on the 23/08/2021 and they told me there were currently setting up fresh cycle treatments for people who were added to the list in may therefore I may have to wait a few more weeks.

My first appointment was end of June. I just want the call to start the treatment. Im hoping I get a call so I can start my cycle for my September period which is due 14/09.

How long did you have to wait to receive the medication?

X

Rj1988 · 31/08/2021 16:43

@Etonmess20 - I found a place online called melios health. They are offering an early pregnancy test for IVF patients which including both quantitative HCG & Progestone for £69
It seems like a very reasonable price. I am going tomorrow to give my bloods so will let you know how it goes...
