@GJW2018 @Etonmess20 My scan was stresfull but at the end they confirmed I will be starting today!!! I am super excited and relieved!

So during the scan they saw a cyst, which is not something I haven't experienced before as I have a "light version" of PCOS and I have them from time to time. I never worried as they usually disappear with the next period, but they had concerns that if the cyst is active that could affect the stim. In that case I was suppose to have a check up scan with my next period ... So they did some extra blood tests to check if the cyst produces estrogen. They just call me to say that fortunately the results are good and I can start injections today! 🥳
My next scan will be Sat 21st

@Vparisi how did it go for you? If you saw a stressed lady with a stripped white/blue sport dress today, that was me 😅

@Welshpea how was your phone call the other day? Did they say something about the next steps?

@HereToLearnAndShare ahhhh so stressful but really glad that you've got the go ahead to start tonight! Are you feeling ok about what you have to do for the injections? I found it a lot better to listen to the nurse rather than watch the video, he explained it in a lot less serious way & it has actually been fine!

HereToLearnAndShare · 13/08/2021 21:14

@Etonmess20 agree! When watching the videos it looks more complicated. Just had my first one - took me 15 min to get the courage to put the needle in 😅 but at the end I was glad

it was not as bad experience as anticipated. Rhink the next one will be easier

@HereToLearnAndShare omg so glad you could start after all that!! You must have been stressed. I ended up in and out before 8:45. Regarding the freeze all, I am actually unclear as I never learned I was having one until they sent the treatment letter. My AMH is 24 so not crazy high, but I think a combination of being below 30, having a low BMI (as I have had lots of bowel surgery so have digestion issues) and having a complex medical history. I am in a lot of pain this weekend because they think when my ovaries are enlarging it is pushing on my adhesions. So I'm on a lower dose and starting Fyramedel tomorrow and going in Tuesday. Did you do your first one last night? So excited you have started! Did you ask about the freeze all waiting list?

@Etonmess20 yep was literally just bloods. Sickness has subsided and now just a bit of pain but hopefully the lower dose helps! Ah that heavy feeling sucks - hope you can relax a bit this weekend!

Thanks @gjw2018 hope no issues for you this week!

Etonmess20 · 14/08/2021 10:16

@HereToLearnAndShare it isn't as bad as you expect is it? Almost a bit of an anti climax 😂 hope you're feeling ok today!

@Vparisi glad you're all good & they've given you instructions for the next few days. Is Tuesday another scan or is that for EC? Make sure you take it easy this weekend!

Hi ladies! Just a little update that I had my phone call with doctor who analysed why cycle did not work and advice I can book my FET for next period and order meds. My next period is next Thursday, she said it would have been fine as they arrive quickly snd not as many as for fresh cycle.
When emailed nurses they told me I had to wait for meds order as there is a 2weeks wait, I am trying to convince them to just order them so I can start!

Meanwhile, does anyone has the timeline for FET? They told me start tablets in day two of period, but I did not get if scan is after 2 weeks or 10 days. From there ET should be one week after.

Thank you snd I am happy to read all your progresses! I am in an out from the forum, and actually trying to decide if I want to start next week or if I want to start in September and go on a short holiday before (we booked Greece!).

GJW2018 · 14/08/2021 13:36

@morganablue that’s great news that you can get started soon. I had an FET I started taking the oestrogen from day 1 and then had a lining scan on day 13 booked in for transfer and then start taking progesterone pessaries 5 days before transfer.
@Vparisi yes a calmer latter half of the week although the nausea has kicked in full force today which I’m grateful for in a weird way! Hope you’re holding up ok. It’s not fun but hopefully not long till EC xx

Sarah2328 · 14/08/2021 16:23

Hey everyone, it’s been a while since I have been on here, so I have completely lost track of things. I am going into week 8 of being on the waiting list, was just wondering how long people have actually waited until they started a fresh cycle.

Thanks xx

HereToLearnAndShare · 14/08/2021 22:32

@Sarah2328 hey, in my case was almost 11 weeks. I hope it will be shorter for you!

@morganablue thats great news! I am glad you can have a FET so soon! Its a bit annoying that they tell you on the phone that you can start next week and then another thing on email. But if you plan a holiday may be you dont need to push to much. Greece sounds great! ⛱️

@Vparisi I see. Its good they reduced the dose, but I imagine you feel so uncomfortable with the pain. Are going for scan on Sun?
Tbh I was so stressed when they told me about the cyst that I totally forgot to ask about the FET timeline 😳

@Etonmess20 yes is not as bad. I dont feel any side effects so far. How was your first morning injection? The Fyremadel needle looks a bit thicker

OP posts:
Sarah2328 · 14/08/2021 23:07

@HereToLearnAndShare I appreciate you getting back to me, fingers crossed it’s before my September predicted period which is the 12th.

I hope it’s all going well for you. Xx

Etonmess20 · 15/08/2021 07:35

@Sarah2328 think I'm the only one doing a fresh cycle currently & I waited 3 months from my consultation appointment. When was your appointment?

@HereToLearnAndShare the fyremadel is not too bad but you're right, the needle is definitely thicker 😬

@GJW2018 sorry to hear you're feeling sicky although I can imagine some symptoms are reassuring!

Rj1988 · 15/08/2021 10:30

@morganablue - I started my FET oestrogen cycles on day 1.. I had to ask the nurse to move my scan to day 8 and now they are going to do the transfer on day 19

@GJW2018 - how's it going with you. Are you still having to take progestone injections?

GJW2018 · 15/08/2021 10:39

@Etonmess20 yes definitely reassuring although they do come and go.

@Rj1988 yep still doing the progesterone in oil injections. It was getting really painful in the week, not the actual injection but bad muscle pain, was walking with a limp, but has gotten better the last couple of days. Had a blood test on Tuesday and my progesterone was 326 which seems too high but who knows, I’m still taking utrogestan as well. Pumped full of the stuff!
Getting suuuper nervous for our scan tomorrow 😬

Sarah2328 · 15/08/2021 11:14

@Etonmess20 hello, my consultation appointment was on the 23rd June, I was told it was a 4 week wait originally. I emailed on the 31 July and was told the nurses would contact me in a few weeks time to plan my treatment. The 19th august will be 8 weeks. X

Rj1988 · 15/08/2021 16:55

@GJW2018 - all the best with your scan tomorrow. I was actually reading about vaginal progesterone and apparently a study was done where they found that a large number of
women (almost 50%) have low levels of progesterone when it's taken vaginally..

Would be interesting to hear if other ladies experienced the same problem and then had to take the injections to increase their levels... and I can imagine how uncomfortable these injections can be!

Do you have to go the clinic each time? And is it daily?

GJW2018 · 15/08/2021 17:03

@Rj1988 yes I read that as well but they also said because with the pessaries it’s absorbed straight to the source it doesn’t show as high in blood tests but it is there. I’m just having one oil injection daily in the morning. My husbands been doing them at home. The actual injections fine and the muscle pain isn’t as bad if you’re moving around all day. It’s worse if you sit/lie down a lot because I think it pools in the muscle x

GJW2018 · 15/08/2021 17:06

They took my progesterone the day of transfer and it was 24 (after 6 days on pessaries) which they said was low, added 1 Lubion injection a day to boost it and 10dp transfer it was still 24 so they switched me on to the oil injections. My level after 2 days on the injections went from 24 to 125 and 326 the following week so definitely makes a difference. I think I probably had low progesterone anyway as I have PCOS

Rj1988 · 15/08/2021 18:06

@GJW2018 - I hope you don't have to take these once you finish your 12 weeks...

Do they usually do blood tests on day of transfer to check if the levels are good?
I have started my pessaries this morning. Have to take them thrice a day and I am so forgetful that I have to keep alarm on my phone for every 5 hours

becarefuloutthere · 15/08/2021 18:51

@GJW2018 good luck for tomorrow!! 🍀

Rj1988 · 15/08/2021 19:00

@becarefuloutthere - thank you!! Transfer won't happen before Friday.. keeping my fingers crossed it all goes smooth

GJW2018 · 15/08/2021 20:14

@Rj1988 yes hopefully I can stop them then 🤞🏻
We are being treated by a private alongside Guys so the tests and progesterone injections are from the private clinic. I think Guys just assume that the pessaries do the trick, I don’t think they test progesterone.
Thank you @becarefuloutthere I’m sooo nervous 😬😬

Rj1988 · 15/08/2021 22:41

@GJW2018 - ah I see, makes sense. They haven't done a single blood test ever since I started the treatment apart from checking for any virus like hep c etc...

Are you seeing some privately in Guys itself or another clinic?

GJW2018 · 15/08/2021 22:51

@Rj1988 we have had our IVF NHS funded at Guys and had some add on treatment that Guys don’t do at a private clinic x

Vparisi · 16/08/2021 06:55

@Etonmess20 Tuesday is for scan so hopefully Thursday EC! We might be pretty close. Hope you had a relaxing weekend. How have you found the Fyramedel? I think much better than the Menopur, I can barely feel it going in in comparison which is interesting. Hope our follicles going well - DP said to me last night he was really nervous about it not working which is the first time he has said something like that. So has made me a little stressed...hoping this week goes quickly!

@gjw2018 ahh sorry to hear about rhe nausea!! I guess at least getting symptoms you know it's all happening down there as it should be. Good luck with scan xx

@Sarah2328 I had my appt 4th May and started last Monday. Got the call late July

@HereToLearnAndShare ahh I can imagine, would have been so stressful! How are you going with injections?

Vparisi · 16/08/2021 07:19

Bit of an embarrassing question ha but did anyone get tons of discharge on Menopur? I have woken up this morning so wet there was fluid down my legs and I thought I had my period but all clear/white. I hadn't read about this before
