@Bellwells hi, yeah probably different but it finally happened in June. There were a number of cock ups before this where I should have been referred but was sent packing by a ridiculous gynaecologist. In addition to that we had a six month delay because my GP surgery told us our results were fine and they weren’t so I logged formal complaint in May, got a new GP and they referred us direct to Guys in June because of the errors. So it’s a bit messy, not sure how the complaint plays in to things.

Plus I was pursuing private because they had let me down so much and we had a few tests and consultations privately along the way, so by the time they saw my referral we’d been seen by various private specialists who wrote us letters of support which the new GP will have passed on. Don’t know if any of this helped, or if this is standard timings now.

thislittlebird · 11/08/2021 10:14

Thanks @becarefuloutthere. I’m so cautious about getting my hopes up because I feel like we’ve been knocked back again and again, but if they do let us start the same month we’d planned to start private I’d be over the moon.

Bellwells · 11/08/2021 10:21

@thislittlebird I’m so sorry to hear that you had to go through all of that! The NHS are aways causing some form of stress to their patients and it is so unnecessary - are we not dealing with enough stress of our own without them adding on more?

Hopefully I will have mine approved within the next month or so then, as my referral went through early July. I know that there is a waiting list for PGD itself plus the normal ACU waiting list but hopefully it won’t be too long.
I was considering asking for a referral to CRGH as I know their wait times are usually shorter that Guy’s, but if Guy’s are improving then maybe there is no point in doing so.

thislittlebird · 11/08/2021 10:21

@HereToLearnAndShare it does make you wonder why the funding was so slow before. I assume they did it for us, was not expecting it.

@GJW2018 happy birthday! That doesn’t sound fun, glad the test was ok. Richmond sounds nice though. We were thinking about getting the train to St Albans one weekend, since we have that direct line now. Just for somewhere to go. Although I won’t lie, if they do say we can start ivf fairly soon I might go further afield for a long weekend before it all kicks off. Would love to go abroad but I’m worried about catching covid and getting sick/delaying things.

@Vparisi that’s what’s so frustrating about experience before. We clearly had issues with our results and the doctor just said we’re unexplained which we clearly weren’t.

thislittlebird · 11/08/2021 10:26

@Bellwells we were referred at the very end of June so you probably won’t be far behind, obviously the PGD list might put a spanner in the works, not sure how that plays into things.

I feel for the nhs staff because they’re clearly under the cosh, but I do expect the gynaecologists not to completely fail at their jobs. Anyway, after a year (our investigations started last July) of nonsense it’s a relief to know we’re getting some nhs help. If we need private we’ve saved for it now, but it’s nice to get an nhs try.

Vparisi · 11/08/2021 15:07

@Etonmess20 hahah yeah counting down is def worse, better just to get it over with! I am struggling a lot at the office today with the nausea, hope it goes away later in the week. On Fyramadel they told me to hold off until my blood test Friday morning then they will call me Friday arvo with instructions for a change in Menopur dosage and which day I should start Fyramadel. Hoping it is asap!

@HereToLearnAndShare great you got another appointment! Maybe I will see you as I will be there to do bloods.

@becarefuloutthere you are good doing your own! I def feel the spots are sensitive but no visible marks. Hope your scan went well!! Are you telling many people yet?

becarefuloutthere · 11/08/2021 15:21

@Etonmess20 keeping the end goal in mind defo helps!
@HereToLearnAndShare Friday is good! Yeah it was, didn't quite go to plan, will write a summary below...
@thislittlebird yeah that would be a great outcome!
@Vparisi yeah I've told close friends and both sets of parents and siblings. Dh has told no friends, he was waiting until today but not sure he will just yet, will explain below.

12 week scan didn't quite go to plan...no pics and gotta go bk next week as my bladder wasn't full enough despite numerous attempts and walking, eating, drinking. I misplaced the letter so completely forgot about the full bladder part. Was there 2 hours in the end and they tried 3 times, leaving me half hour or so between each go. I downed 7 cups of water the first time and was sick! 🤦🏾‍♀️ Did see and hear a heartbeat so that was good but it was too dark for measurements and seeing a clear image to print. It was all very chaotic and anti climatic but hopefully next weeks will be better and I'll come away with a pic and measurements and feeling better! But he was happy with what he saw tho, 2 arms and legs and 1 head as he put it 😂

HereToLearnAndShare · 11/08/2021 15:41

@becarefuloutthere thats great news! It is unfortunate they couldn't do a proper scan, but the fact that they heard a heartbeat and saw the limbs is amazing! So happy for you! Dings crossed for next week too

@Vparisi my appt is at 9:45, what time is yours?

Etonmess20 · 11/08/2021 16:38

@Vparisi sorry to hear you're struggling today ☹️ really hope it goes for you, nothing worse than feeling sicky! Oh fair enough, It's good they can get the results back & then tailor the medication so quick!
My ovitrelle is arriving tomorrow 🙏🏼 something else for the fridge!!

@becarefuloutthere glad to hear baby is all safe & well in there but it's a shame you weren't able to get the proper pictures. Least you get another go next week & hopefully plenty of pictures!

becarefuloutthere · 11/08/2021 18:10

@HereToLearnAndShare yes very true! Now I've had some time I've got a better perspective on things. Thank you 😊
Good luck for your appointment!
@Etonmess20 thank you, yes exactly that. I have to see it as a bonus scan and I'll drink a litre of water before I go this time!! 😬
Ooh are you triggering soon then?
@Vparisi sorry missed what you said about the nausea, hope its eased up now?! X

GJW2018 · 11/08/2021 18:16

@becarefuloutthere that’s great that baby is safe and well and hopefully ready for a photo shoot next week!
Have had a lovely day in Richmond despite having some spotting this morning which sent me sideways but all gone now thankfully. God this baby is not making this easy on my nerves! Thank you for all your bday wishes.
@Vparisi hopefully the nausea will start to ease up soon I hear ginger is supposed to be good for nausea?
@HereToLearnAndShare glad they were able to reschedule your scan!
@Etonmess20 woohoo for the ovitrelle!

becarefuloutthere · 11/08/2021 19:33

@GJW2018 thank you, such a nice way to look at it, made me smile 😊
Glad you had a lovely day and the spotting didn't dampen it! Did you get nice pressies?

GJW2018 · 11/08/2021 19:37

@becarefuloutthere yes got lots of lovely bits, turns out 33 isn’t so bad! 💖

becarefuloutthere · 11/08/2021 19:44

@GJW2018 I loved being 33, the year I got married and lived in my post honeymoon bubble even whilst ttc those first few months!

Etonmess20 · 12/08/2021 07:06

@becarefuloutthere think trigger could be next Wednesday or Friday depending on how Wednesdays scan goes but Guys missed it off my original prescription somehow 🤦🏼‍♀️

@GJW2018 glad you had a lovely day & the spotting has cleared up

@Vparisi how are you feeling?

@HereToLearnAndShare any sign of AF? 🙏🏼 everything crossed for you!!

becarefuloutthere · 12/08/2021 08:16

@Etonmess20 ah yes I remember you saying! They can be so useless 🤦🏾‍♀️ I got a whole batch of fyremadel that I didn't even need 😂

Vparisi · 12/08/2021 08:24

Ahh @becarefuloutthere how annoying is that!! Well the positive thing is it has the right amount of body parts and a lovely heartbeat so all sounds good.

And yep nausea has eased today thanks all @GJW2018 @Etonmess20 . Ginger tea has helped! Just feeling some general discomfort. Also put on a weird amount of weight this morning but not sure that is related - although it does list it as a symptom so I am choosing to 100% blame the meds instead of the ridiculous amount of food I ate over the engagement weekend haha... weird to think I have my bloods tomorrow then they will change dose, all feels very quick. Hope you are feeling well also @etonmess20 and hope you enjoyed the birthday @gjw2018 !

@HereToLearnAndShare fingers crossed for AF today

Etonmess20 · 12/08/2021 08:36

@becarefuloutthere it's crazy really because loads of stuff must get wasted! The nurse even said to us to not bother bringing anything back in that's leftover because they won't accept it.

@Vparisi glad you're feeling better! I honestly feel HUGE like I'm being inflated or something, haven't dared weigh myself 😂😂 it is 100% the meds btw, absolutely not the celebrations! 😂
It is super quick having bloods Friday - did they say whether they'd be expecting to increase or decrease your dose? It's crazy you could be EC so soon too!

HereToLearnAndShare · 12/08/2021 11:11

@Etonmess20 @Vparisi @GJW2018 @becarefuloutthere thank you so much for the support! AF has just started! 🥳 Its such a relief!
Vparisi I came across info that goin could gain some weight during the stimms period so id deffo could be from that. Not ideal but a may be a rehearsal of what we are about to gain once we got pregnant 😂

OP posts:
becarefuloutthere · 12/08/2021 11:16

@Vparisi exactly that 😘 glad your nausea has eased now! Good luck for tomorrow.
@Etonmess20 I gave it back at my viability scan and I just knew she was gonna bin it 🙈
@HereToLearnAndShare the only time we want to see it is when we're starting ivf! Glad it's arrived.

Etonmess20 · 12/08/2021 18:02

@HereToLearnAndShare yay!!!! So happy for you! Good luck with it all tomorrow, so exciting you can finally start!

Vparisi · 13/08/2021 07:09

@HereToLearnAndShare awesome news!

@Etonmess20 she said they will probably be expecting to decrease it or have a day's break. I have crazy bloat and am in pain both sides this morning for the first time so I think that will end up being the result. Will keep you updated!! Hope you're feeling well - crazy you'll be doing EC a week from now!

HereToLearnAndShare · 13/08/2021 08:00

@Etonmess20 Thank you 🤗

@becarefuloutthere yes , Ive never been so happy to see it before 😅

@Vparisi ah I am s sorry to hear you are not feeling well! Perhaps they could predict you will react very quick and for that reason they booked you in for today. I assume they will just give view a few days break as you say.
Is your AMH lever high in general or they suspect ed OHSS for another reason?

OP posts:
Etonmess20 · 13/08/2021 08:46

@HereToLearnAndShare Let us know how you get on x

@Vparisi that makes sense, is it literally just a blood test you're having Or are they scanning too? Hope it goes well today!
Definitelt does sound like you're reacting, I feel huge but mines not painful as such, I'd say it's more tender but I can definitely feel it & am visibly bloated too! Other than that I've just been exhausted & beginning to get uncomfortable to bend down 😂 had your sickness subsided?
I'm hoping for EC next Friday but he did say it could well be Monday but either way I'll be back Friday for a scan (if not EC)

GJW2018 · 13/08/2021 16:18

Hope all went well today @HereToLearnAndShare and @Vparisi ! Xxx
