Hey ! Definitely a negative - retested this morning! so now to join the Guys queue again!

@GJW2018 We also has private tests but they didn't do immunology ones i don't think. What tests did they advise you to do?

GJW2018 · 04/08/2021 07:59

Thank you @Etonmess20
I’m so sorry @Welshpea 😔 praying they’ll be able to get you in soon.
I requested all of the immunology testing as I know a lot of people that went through rounds of ivf and that turned out to be the issue. We tested with Zita West and just had their whole panel. Although they wouldn’t treat us alongside NHS IVF so we’re being treated by another clinic. I had elevated NK cells which I’ve had intralipids for and TH1/2 imbalance (but don’t understand that one as much) which I’m taking tablets for. I’m also on Clexane. They retested just before transfer and it showed that my immune system had come down so they said all good to transfer. Just need to keep on top of it now. Prior to that we’d had every test and had no issues apart from my polycystic ovaries which they said wasn’t an issue as I was ovulating regularly. Now the progesterone but they said that because it’s a frozen transfer you haven’t got the corpus luteum (the sack the egg was in) to produce the progesterone. Sorry that was really long and waffly. I honestly think I could take a doctors exam after these three years!

Morning. Had my 8 week scan at Guys yesterday. All good. Measuring ok and saw the heartbeat!! Been discharged from them. Morning sickness is truly awful this time though. Didn’t have any before. Urgh. Be well everyone x

Welshpea · 04/08/2021 08:09

@WNorwoodJess amazing news !! Congratulations! you must feel a bit of relief!

@GJW2018 Well i wanted to do testing but harley street said she didn't see a need. I'm still adamant that our issue is the molar and that my body had so much trauma from it that my body is now rejecting pregnancies.

Can i ask what clinic your with? I may just get the tests all run while I wait for the call again!

Xxx

GJW2018 · 04/08/2021 08:36

Woohoo @WNorwoodJess that’s amazing! I’m terrified for a scan and still seems so long away.
@Welshpea we’re being treated by the fertility and gynaecology academy. Zita West said that I wouldn’t need to immunology tests but I insisted because I’d had loads of issues with inflammation with my bowels and all the people I’d known that it was a factor for. I just felt like there’s obviously a reason we’re not getting pregnant naturally so that’s why I wanted all of the tests to find a reason.

Vparisi · 04/08/2021 08:40

So unfair @GJW2018, there is so much to think about and so much that can go wrong!! After all we go through a positive test should be the end if it!! Hoping for good news today

Sorry to hear @Welshpea :( 2nd time lucky!!

Congratulations @WNorwoodJess !! Must feel amazing, hope you feel better soon!! ❤

Welshpea · 04/08/2021 09:00

@GJW2018 Harley street said the cost is £960 to run the test - was yours a similar cost?

xx

GJW2018 · 04/08/2021 09:06

@Welshpea I think they cost that when we did them through Zita West but I think they were slightly cheaper at FGA maybe like £700-800 but don’t quote me on that. It’s because they have to send them to Chicago so they are expensive xx

Welshpea · 04/08/2021 10:08

@GJW2018 I've messaged all 3 to ask pricing as I definitely need to do something while we wait. I just don't want to waste the ones we have frozen by just putting them back in when there could be something stopping implantation. I honestly feel like if they said they found something I would have the treatment and try naturally and see if it worked while we wait too.

Sorry for being nosey about pricing ! My DH is gutted about the negative and we got our final pricing for the work we are having done - which will mean our savings are gone 😭😭 i feel bad even suggesting further testing

Rj1988 · 04/08/2021 10:44

@GJW2018 - I hope the injection helps to boosts up the progesterone and hopefully you don't have to take many of those.

Today is going to be my day 3 of these estrogen pills and I get an instant headache as soon as I take these... plus I have a big interview lined up for the same week when my transfer might be due and I hope I won't be all over the place with all these hormone tablets...

@GJW2018 - which day did they do your transfer? I think mine might fall on the weekend so not sure if they will do the ET on weekends or ask me to continue the tablets for a bit longer

@HereToLearnAndShare - hi there, hope you doing well. After my EC my periods were all over the place, the second period cycle was only 19 days long. But now it seems to be back to 30 day cycle so I think it's ok to proceed.

GJW2018 · 04/08/2021 11:00

@Welshpea I completely agree, it’s better to know to be able to sort it. As it took us literally years to get anywhere with guys we saved up for private IVF and Guys literally called us the month before we were going to start so we are using the money from those savings for testing/treatment but it does add up.
@Rj1988 thank you, I hope so too. Just at the blood test place now, so won’t find out till this afternoon.
Just checked and they did my lining scan on cycle day 13 and transfer on day 20. The oestrogen isn’t fun, made me nauseous, loss of appetite and got super nap attack everyday at 3pm but it does level itself out after a week or so. I still don’t have much of an appetite (which is not like me!) but the tiredness and nausea petered off after about a week from starting taking them xx

Rj1988 · 04/08/2021 16:40

@GJW2018 - my day 20 falls on a Friday so hoping they can do a transfer on that day and I can get 2 days of rest over the weekend!

Hoping your bloods and progesterone levels come back normal

GJW2018 · 04/08/2021 16:52

@Rj1988 yes mine was a Friday too. They said I could wait till the Monday if I wanted as they don’t do FETs on weekends.
Got my bloods back and my beta/hcg number has tripled since Monday and my progesterone was over 100 which they said was sufficient so phew for now. Have a 6 week scan with the private clinic on 16th of August and one with Guys on 24th. So stress will resume then!
It’s my birthday next week and people have planned things for me nearly every day. Not ideal when I’m off alcohol and cake and can’t tell anyone 🤦🏼‍♀️

GJW2018 · 04/08/2021 16:54

@Rj1988 they said I could’ve had it from day 17/18 but they were all booked up till my day 20 so could be a bit earlier for you? I think as long as the linings thick you’re ok to pick the day that works for you. You just need to start the progesterone 5 days before the transfer date xx

Vparisi · 04/08/2021 16:57

@GJW2018 awesome news!! So glad to hear it. Will be hard next week for sure. I've had so much on recently that I've had to tell a few more people than I would have liked just because it was so out of character for me to be avoiding things etc. Should be a great week for you anyway, surely this is the best gift you could have received! 🥰

Rj1988 · 04/08/2021 17:19

@GJW2018

That's super news!! You must be feeling so relived and now you can enjoy your birthday without any worry!

GJW2018 · 04/08/2021 17:34

Thanks @Vparisi and @Rj1988 definitely the best bday gift ever. Feeling very grateful and still in shock tbh xxxxx

Etonmess20 · 04/08/2021 17:41

@GJW2018 so happy for you ❤️ really glad you got good news!!

GJW2018 · 04/08/2021 17:45

Thank you @Etonmess20 how are you feeling about starting soon?

Etonmess20 · 04/08/2021 18:26

@GJW2018 feeling a bit weird about it all tbh, excited to start but after waiting so long it just feels strange for it to finally be (almost here) 😬

GJW2018 · 04/08/2021 18:46

Definitely @Etonmess20 then it just flies as there’s so much going on!

Etonmess20 · 04/08/2021 19:55

@GJW2018 it's the last few days of limbo & this week seems to have been the worst wait of all! Looking forward to getting started tbh!

Etonmess20 · 05/08/2021 07:19

Morning everyone - bit of a WWYD question - had a bit of UTI type symptoms the past couple of days that don't seem to be clearing - from past experiences I can be quite poorly if I leave them (goes into my kidneys). If I call my GP & ask them for antibiotics (the ones I usually have are safe for pregnancy & breastfeeding) do you think I need to call the nurses to triple check they'll be ok too?

Sorry for my life story!

becarefuloutthere · 05/08/2021 09:06

@Etonmess20 morning! Doesn't sound like you need to but no harm done in calling if it gives you peace of mind. Hope it clears up soon!

@GJW2018 awesome bday gift honey!

GJW2018 · 05/08/2021 09:20

@Etonmess20 I suffer terribly with urine infections and my doctor recommended d-mannose it’s herbal and safe for pregnancy and clears mine up quicker than antibiotics. I get mine from Cytoplan but you can get it from Holland and barter I think, might be worth a try to ward it off? Xx
