@GJW2018 I did two as I'd PIAP and kept looking at them both, it's disbelief! Xx

@Welshpea oh I'm so sorry! I hope it's just too early. Hugs to you 🫂 ♥️

Welshpea · 02/08/2021 07:30

@becarefuloutthere @GJW2018 @Etonmess20 @Vparisi @HereToLearnAndShare Thanks girlies - It's just so incredibly frustrating 😭 and now back to the waiting for Guys again - does anyone know how quickly they let you do another transfer ?

GJW2018 · 02/08/2021 07:42

@Welshpea I had a frozen transfer, I think you have a month off for your cycle to come back to normal and balance your hormones back out then start the following cycle xxx

HereToLearnAndShare · 02/08/2021 11:03

@Welshpea I think someone in the group said 2 months, but I am not entirely sure. Keep us posted aboy it, I assume Guys should give you some clarity on it.
@morganablue what did they say about this, when is your next transfer planned for?

@Welshpea I am so sorry, I know exactly how it feels. 😢 You can email or call with your result, they will book you in for a follow up with senior doctor. (My appointment is not in person, but on the phone). I gave them results on 21/07, they booked me in for 11/08. (They had earlier dates but only for private patients).
They told me waiting list is a bit long and from moment to get the call they put you on, and u need to wait for a call from nurse. They told me to no expect it before 2-3 months, mostly for waiting list and they juggling private and NHS patients. (So I am looking at October at least).

Sending you a big hug

Vparisi · 02/08/2021 14:56

Omg @morganablue @Welshpea 2-3 months?! That is incredibly frustrating, I really feel for both of you. You must just want to get trying asap again, it is all so unfair. Sending hugs xx

morganablue · 02/08/2021 15:20

@Vparisi yes, it's so frustrating. I am hoping they will give me more info on the 11/08 and I'll share it here. I clearly remember doctor said that so many people things you do the transfer straight away and it's not the case with their waiting list. At this point, I just want to do a FET as soon as possible, so if this is unsuccessful, we can plan a fresh cycle after Xmas.

Also FYI when I called to give result at the number they give you on leaflet with option 2, someone picked up and very rudely told me "okay. not sure what to do with the result, could you not email instead?", as I replied "no, I am on the phone, this is already difficult and I have no intention to start my laptop to write an email", they passed onto the nurse team and nurse was obviously very empathetic, but however replied first (admin maybe?) was awful. Sharing in this in case it happens to anyone else.

@Welshpea I am keeping everything crossed that result is different on designated day.

morganablue · 02/08/2021 15:21

*think

Etonmess20 · 02/08/2021 15:32

@morganablue sounds like you spoke to the delightful admin lady who tried to argue with me about what "early next week" means 🙃 absolutely no need to be rude, let alone when people are ringing for that reason. Hope you're doing ok x

Etonmess20 · 02/08/2021 15:34

@Vparisi is it just me or are you obsessed with every twinge? I feel it'll be Sod's law AF will arrive slightly early & I'll need to change my appointment

Rj1988 · 02/08/2021 18:34

Hello everyone, I am back here after a long break.

For those, who have joined this thread recently. I did my first round of IVF with guys in June.

It wasn't a great one for me as out of 20 eggs only 1 made it to frozen, issues with my egg quality apparently.

It took a while for my periods to normalise..

And I am now planning to do my FET this cycle.
I started my estrogen tablets this afternoon.
They have booked my scan on the 17th which is day 16.

these estrogen tablets are making me so nauseas. Just wondering if it's normal to have them for 16 days? Before we start the progesterone

@GJW2018 - congratulations on your BFP!!

@Welshpea & @morganablue - I have been reading your messages and I can imagine how disheartening it feels, I have been struggling emotionally ever since my egg collection. Are you planning your next FET anytime soon?

@Vparisi - are you done with you EC? How did it go?

morganablue · 02/08/2021 23:25

@Rj1988 thank you lovely. I am very sorry to hear that your cycle was not what you wished for. I found EC and monitoring of embryo quite challenging. We had 15 eggs, 14 fertilised, 1 made it to fresh transfer but resulted in negative and we have one only embryo that made it to frozen, which is the one we'll FET.

I am hoping to have a FET ASAP, but it will depend on waiting list and when they can place us. Will get the consultation call on 11/08, hoping they can talk me through timeline. Excited for you to be close to your FET starting now.

morganablue · 02/08/2021 23:27

(Actually 14 got ICSI, 1 was not mature to be ICSI and 10 fertilised. )

Vparisi · 03/08/2021 09:15

@Rj1988 congrats on having your FET booked, crossing all my fingers for you!! I start next week, baseline scan Monday. V excited!
Haha same @Etonmess20 , really paranoid it is going to be early...

Pretty disappointed today. A few months ago DP did his sperm workup and we were pretty surprised to find out his morphology was

Etonmess20 · 03/08/2021 09:23

@Vparisi I've been crampy for a couple of days now which I never normally get, I'll be very surprised if I last until Friday (any earlier than Friday & the appointment will need to change). Bloody AF honestly 😂 when is AF due for you?
Oh that's rubbish news, could well be related to covid as he's been ill so recently. I'm not at all knowledge about this type of stuff but I'm assuming the ICSI will be able to circumvent these type of issues? Also, not sure if I'm thinking of another measure but I've seen previously where one measure has been poorer that the good volume has made up for that as 20% of XX million sperm is still a good number (if that makes sense?)
Did the doctor give any advice or just the result?

Rj1988 · 03/08/2021 12:58

@Vparisi - all the best!!
My partners morphology was 1% hence we were recommended IVF but turned out issues with my egg quality is a bigger concern now.

You shouldn't worry too much about motility or morphology as they can do ICSI if required and that shouldn't impact your fertilisation rate.

@morganablue - thanks for sharing! I had 14 fertilised out of 16 mature eggs. I hope they schedule your FET soon

Does anyone know for how long do we have to take these estrogen tablets before transfer?

GJW2018 · 03/08/2021 13:23

@Rj1988 for my frozen transfer I had to take them from day 1 of the cycle we transferred and am still taking them now. My husband also had low morphology but they said it wasn’t an issue as 1% of 20 million or whatever a sample is is still 20,000 normal ones. (My maths might be awful there!)
I had a beta and progesterone blood test with a private clinic yesterday. They said my hcg level was good but my progesterone was really ‘concerningly’ low even though I’ve been on utrogestan so they’ve put me on progesterone in oil intramuscular injections so that sent me in a stress spin. The needle is huuuuge. Going back tomorrow to see if my hcg has doubled and if my progesterone has raised. God, the stress continues …

morganablue · 03/08/2021 13:24

@Vparisi not sure if this can be useful but my nutritionist gave my OH this zinc supplement. His motility was around 20 and on sample day got to 70. www.wildnutrition.com/products/food-grown-zinc-plus
We still had to do ICSI as morphology was 2%

morganablue · 03/08/2021 13:26

@GJW2018 sending u loads of love! C'mon progesterone!

Vparisi · 03/08/2021 14:27

@Etonmess20 eek that is so stressful considering they already found it hard to fit you in. I am surprised they don't just stick everyone on the pill as it must be difficult to manage cycle changes. Mine is Sunday according to my app but that's 23 days in between and I have been more like 21 last couple of times so we will see..
No advice no, just that being sick could have affected it. I believe ICSI can do a good job to circumvent so hopefully all good. Don't know what is up today, have been feeling so positive about it all now just that it is getting close I'm getting the feeling of stress that after sooo much waiting and build-up one month from today it could just be all disappointment you know. Gotta try and stay optimistic!

Thanks @Rj1988 that makes me feel better. Fingers crossed for my egg quality!

@morganablue thanks that is super helpful!! Definitely going to buy!

Etonmess20 · 03/08/2021 15:00

@GJW2018 sending you progesterone vibes & lots of love! More needles definitely is not the one 😬

@Vparisi tell me about it, my new stress is that AF will arrive early & they won't be able to fit me in & I'll have to wait until September 🙃 I know they'll make it work because it must happen every single week but it's just the added uncertainty!
You know what, I've been feeling the exact same - it's so difficult to know how to feel. If you're positive you don't want to be "too positive" & get yourself carried away but then you don't want to be negative cus that doesn't help either 🤷🏼‍♀️ it is like the worlds most rubbish rollercoaster & this last wait of a week or so seems to be the worst of all! The thought of it all being done in a months time scares the life out of me honestly 😬

HereToLearnAndShare · 03/08/2021 17:12

@GJW2018 how did you decide to do this tests, is this a standard procedure to re-confirm the pregnancy?
You would think that once you have the positive test this is end of needles... But it turns out not

@Vparisi I received my medicine yestarday, is this the video that you were after: ?

@Rj1988 welcome back! You mentioned ot took you some time to normalise your periods, is that the reason you are having the FET in Aug, not in July?

Vparisi · 03/08/2021 22:29

@gjw2018 oh my gosh, totally missed your post, sounds awful. I will be thinking of you all day tomorrow, really hope everything is OK 🥺 sending love xx

@heretolearnandshare yes thank you, so helpful!!

@etonmess20 yep 100%. I guess the one thing that helps is to have you all here knowing how it feels when I can't really explain it to anyone else!

GJW2018 · 03/08/2021 23:24

Thank you @morganablue @Etonmess20 @Vparisi @HereToLearnAndShare
We were waiting sooooo long for IVF with Guys elsewhere that we had loads of private tests done which flagged my immune system so they have been treating me for that around the ivf at Guys. I called them to tell them I’d had a positive result they wanted my bloods done to confirm it was a viable pregnancy because they said if it’s positive I need to have a drip to keep my immune system down and I think they just always lump progesterone in with the beta/hcg. Who knows I’m just following instructions with a numb bum! Going to repeat the bloods tomorrow and pray that my hcg has doubled and my progesterone is in a better place then they’ve booked me in for an early scan on 16th and Guys have booked me for one on 24th. Feel like this whole journey is just counting down to another appointment pre and post IVF! Just annoying that I’m not at work so my mind is on overdrive, no distractions!

Etonmess20 · 04/08/2021 07:00

@GJW2018 really hope you get some good news today x
