Hi everyone,

Been on the conception boards a fair bit but this is first time on the infertility section.
Bit of background - 28 and been TTC for two years for first child. Had one miscarriage about 10 months ago at 5 weeks. Had all our fertility checks and no major issues have been identified. Consultant suggested IVF for us so we are currently in that process.
Nurse consultation is 2nd July and then hoping it’s not long after then!

Looking for some buddies to keep me going through it all as hate all kinds of hospital things and to stop me over thinking about!

Thanks for taking the time to read 😊

@Momo32 That is wonderful news!! Keep going little embryos!

Novavee · 29/06/2021 14:36

@Bryterlayter1 great news your appointment is scheduled and all on track to start end of July. Hopefully 3.5 weeks will be enough.

@Momo32 great news about your 14 embies!

@PuffinPippin hope you are feeling better today and 🤞 for a good call

@Questions2 welcome!

@dogmam good luck with your scan today. Just think they are used to it, they do it all the time.

On my end, i managed to get someone on the phone from the GP surgery and they confirmed they had my report and would sent it to the clinic today or tomorrow. LSB also emailed today to say the sample is being delivered tomorrow and the clinic will update on Friday if they have everything they need or if those 2 pesky pending results are still not back.

LS2020 · 29/06/2021 18:32

Wow this has moved on quick! Hope you’re all keeping well 🥰

Welcome @Questions2! It definitely does move fast. I keep seesawing as we get told we should be perfectly fine to conceive naturally but then why are we 2 years in with only one mc so I got very impatient and pushed back for IVF, had originally asked for 4 months to keep trying but I’m a bit fed up with it all. All this hassle and there’s not even the baby yet 😂

@Momo32 fab news on your embryos! Glad all went well.

@PuffinPippin hope you’re resting up loads too! Do you remember any of it? The sedation makes me nervous. I would rather be put to sleep I think!

@Novavee sounds like you’re getting there!
I’m getting v excited for my nurse appointment Friday, starting to feel very real 😊

@Girlwholifts welcome too! Is your OH a doctor or similar? Not sure I trust my OH to do them haha

Girlwholifts · 29/06/2021 20:19

@LS2020 No my DH isn’t a doctor but loves this kind of thing, he’s been great so far. I start Cetrotide Thursday which isn’t great apparently so we shall see how that one goes. I hate needles so it was one worry I could let go of by letting him take charge. They are honestly fine though. I hope your appointment goes well on Friday.

dogmam · 29/06/2021 21:38

@momo32 ahh you must be so happy and looking forward to the next update. Fingers crossed for you!

@puffinpippin hope you're doing well and have had good news x

@Novavee bet you can't wait for your update on Friday, hopefully everything will come together for you!

I had my baseline scan today and bloods and it was confirmed that I can start stims so I have had my first injection tonight! It was information overload at the clinic when the nurse explain how to do the injections but my other half done a very good job tonight when I eventually let him do it Grin
@girlwholifts I also start Cetrotide this week, on Saturday as that will be day 5 for me, not looking forward to that one as we need to mix it all up ourselves?!

Girlwholifts · 30/06/2021 06:13

@dogmam I start Cetrotide Thursday which will be day 6 for me. We’ve had a good look at it and the mixing etc looks pretty straight forward. Fingers crossed we have a smooth ride with it. I have my tracking scan Friday, really hoping they don’t adjust the drugs and I can stick to my protocol. How was your base scan? Did you have a nice amount of follicles?

LS2020 · 01/07/2021 20:16

@Girlwholifts how did first go today go?

@dogmam how’s stims going?

V excited for appointment tomorrow just hoping not another 6 weeks

Girlwholifts · 01/07/2021 21:41

@LS2020 it went ok actually, a little red patch after but that’s it ☺️ No way as bad as I expected.
What is you appointment tomorrow? Is it a consultation? I’m sure they’ll get you start ASAP. Are you private or NHS? I have a tracking scan tomorrow and I’m hoping they don’t up my meds as I’m feeling very bloated already 😫

Bryterlayter1 · 01/07/2021 22:07

@LS2020 how exciting about your appointment tomorrow. I'm sure it will be good to know about the planned protocol.

Ally0400 · 02/07/2021 11:09

Hi, ladies. Hope it's ok if I join?

I've got a fridge full of needles and ready to get going when my cycle starts (about 10 days away now). Egg collection due to be near the end of the month as I'm on a short, mild, antagonist cycle.

IVF first timer for secondary infertility. Wishing the best of luck for us all!

LS2020 · 02/07/2021 17:45

@Girlwholifts that’s good! I’m a bit worried on injections so good to hear isn’t awful.

I’m NHS and had my appointment at 10 today. I’m too close to my next period (next week) so I’m in for the 4th August, annoying as feels like ages but it’s literally a month!
Was a simple meeting. We’ve signed up for time lapse which I’m please about.. just have to pay it now. Got the blood test booked in for 19th July.
Will start stims day 1/2, have the thing that stops you releasing eggs from day 6, scan on day 9 to check, do trigger shot, anticipate day 12/13 for Egg retrevial, stop injections at that point and then do ET 5 days later with just progesterone pessaries until test date. Simples right?!
We have to isolate from day of scan which is annoying work wise but doable. Fortunately ends day before OHs birthday!

Welcome @Ally0400! Hope it all goes well. I’m so jealous of everyone starting soon, feels like a life time away for me now haha

Novavee · 02/07/2021 19:21

@dogmam yay on starting stims! I hope they are going well.

@Girlwholifts glad to hear cetrotide is not too bad. It's the one I am fearing the most. Do you ice the area first or use numbing cream?

@LS2020 sorry that you can't start straight away but you'll see, the month will fly by. It's great that you have the schedule already so you can break the wait into bits. 19th July will be here in no time.

@Ally0400 👋 great to see you over here. Not that long to go now!

@Momo32 @PuffinPippin I hope you are both doing well.

Heard back from the clinic and the sample has been delivered (If there was any doubt, there was an invoice waiting for me when I got home this evening!). The test results are also in (all normal) but the GP, unsurprisingly, didn't send the report yet. I am guaranteed it has been reviewed and signed and it is waiting to be sent on monday by the only person in the surgery that is allowed to send such things, apparently. More chasing to do next week but I at least I can relax this weekend and not worry about the rest.

LS2020 · 02/07/2021 21:30

@Novavee I know it will. These two weeks to today have flown by! I’ve got a week of annual leave too which means I can proper relax for. I had a bit as contingency incase I did get in this cycle to rest up.
Glad you are now mostly sorted but how on earth can only one person send a letter?! What do you need?! An obe?!

Momo32 · 02/07/2021 22:35

Thank you all for checking in! I had my last checkup for ohss yesterday and all seems great! 👍🏻 so we booked a transfer for tomorrow morning 🙈 send good vibes ladies! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Girlwholifts · 03/07/2021 09:08

@LS2020 honestly the time will fly by. When I was getting ready to start it seemed like a life time but you’ll have things like arranging for meds delivery and appointments etc.
Honestly, I can’t tell you how nervous I am with injections but the needles are pretty small. Bloods are worse and we’ve all had plenty of those 🤣

@Novavee I didn’t use anything, I did think I might but once you start it’s like oh ok that’s nothing really and I HATE needles. The Cetrotide is a little itchy after but that’s it ☺️

LS2020 · 03/07/2021 16:53

@Momo32 hope the transfer went well and you’re resting up! Lucky to do on a weekend so you can chill. Mine should be a Friday all going well.

@Girlwholifts I know it will. We have to quarantine for so making plans to see people and actually next two weekends I’m seeing people before it all kicks off then I’m in for my test, off for the week on annual leave and that’s only a week left! Yeah I’ve gotten so much better with bloods now it’s insane

@LS2020 sounds like you’ve got a lovely few weeks coming up! Exciting time ahead! I’ve got to self isolate as from tomorrow and it’s my DH birthday today so we are having a well deserved meal out ☺️ Enjoy you weekend ❤️

Bryterlayter1 · 03/07/2021 17:55

@Momo32 hope all went well today!

dogmam · 05/07/2021 12:12

Hi ladies!

@girlwholifts you still finding it all ok? I didn't actually get told how many follicles I had on my baseline scan! All she told me was my lining was 5.4mm. I wonder if she even counted?! My AFC on a previous scan was 32, I know that much.

@Novavee good luck for you week of chasing up! Sounds like it's all going in the right direction for you which is good news.

@LS2020 ahh how exciting, a month will over and be here before you know it. Watch plenty of you tube vids on how to do the injections so you'll be a pro by the time you come to do them.

@momo32 I hope the transfer went ok and you're recovered!

Well.. I started my stims on Tuesday night and was told to come back on Monday (today) for a scan but all my paperwork says follow up scan will be between 8 and 12 days of stims, and as my scan was booked for 8am today and I don't inject until 8pm, I would have only had 6 injections, so on Saturday I rang the clinic and spoke to a consultant who said it's too early and have rearranged the scan to Wednesday. I kind of immediately regretted rining because an extra scan would have been nice to check how my follicles are doing but never mind, at least it's an extra 2 injections.
Also I started Cetrotide on Saturday and I must be a wuss because they hurt! I thought it was easy just with the rekovelle stims but I now dread 8pm every night!!

Hope everyone is ok x

Girlwholifts · 05/07/2021 13:06

@dogmam I was told my follicle count but nothing mentioned about lining thickness haha. They must all have there own way of doing it. Yeh I’m ok, little uncomfortable now and feeling very bloated. Had a tracking scan Friday and measured from 15-20 on most follicles, been again this morning and measured 17-24 so am now booked in for Wednesday EC 😬
Ovitrelle trigger shot tonight at 10pm.

Sorry to hear your Cetrotide is hurting, I found that releasing the pinch on the exit helped me. Some hurt more than others but each one is one step closer.

Hope all you other lady’s are keeping well 💛

dogmam · 05/07/2021 14:48

@girlwholifts oh really haha they must all do it differently.
Ahh how exciting! How you feeling about collection?
Thanks I'll try that with the Cetrotide tonight. Hope your trigger is pain free tonight! Do you have to also continue with the stims and Cetrotide?

Girlwholifts · 05/07/2021 17:09

@dogmam I’m not going to lie I’m a little nervous but it’s only a 20-30 min procedure so I’m sure I will be fine 🤞🏼
I was supposed to have my final Pergoveris tonight and Cetrotide tomorrow but they’ve told me not to continue and instead do my trigger shot at 10pm ( I’m normally in bed by 9.30 🤣)
The Ovitrelle is the pen type which is pretty painless so I’ve been told 🤞🏼

Girlwholifts · 05/07/2021 18:22

@dogmam just realised the last of my message didn’t send.

How many tracking scans do you have planned and do you know your proposed EC? I found once I started Cetrotide its all gone SUPER quick!

@Momo32 how did your transfer go? Sending baby dust your way!

Momo32 · 05/07/2021 18:53

Hi all! Thank you for the Love guys! I'm really good. The transfer was very quick. I was chilling at home for the last few days but decided not to stay in bed. I've read a lot of research where it says it's better to go back to your normal life, so I'm cooking and doing basic stuff around the house. No symptoms yet, but I just woke up after a nap, hoping it means something 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
