Hi everyone,

Been on the conception boards a fair bit but this is first time on the infertility section.
Bit of background - 28 and been TTC for two years for first child. Had one miscarriage about 10 months ago at 5 weeks. Had all our fertility checks and no major issues have been identified. Consultant suggested IVF for us so we are currently in that process.
Nurse consultation is 2nd July and then hoping it’s not long after then!

Looking for some buddies to keep me going through it all as hate all kinds of hospital things and to stop me over thinking about!

Thanks for taking the time to read 😊

@Girlwholifts I had egg collection on Wednesday hun how many did you get out? I got 7 and only 2 fertilised they where waiting on another 2 to see if they fertilised to xx

Girlwholifts · 10/07/2021 08:04

@tmc2021 I too had mine on Wednesday 🤩 I had 5 collected and 4 fertilised. Ive still been pretty active and just returned to normal but thankfully no pain. We are keeping our fingers crossed that we don’t get a call earlier than Monday! X

Bryterlayter1 · 10/07/2021 15:11

Brief update from me. We had our nursing appointment yesterday, and I am booked in for final blood tests (virology) on Thursday 15th. We also have a phone call with the embryologist on 20th. Clinic feel that I should be good to begin at the end of the month (roughly 23rd), short protocol working with the natural cycle (so no birth control to regulate timings).

The only thing left to decide is how to pay, is anyone using access fertility? Clinic said their packages are quite good value rather than paying clinic directly. Wonder if others have used this option?

dogmam · 11/07/2021 11:03

@momo32 massive congratulation! You must be on cloud 9!!

@girlwholifts ahh great news about your 4 embryos! Bet you can't wait for transfer.

@tmc2021 two embryos is still amazing! don't feel disheartened. When is your transfer?

I had my second scan on Friday and have over 25 follicles over 15mm so have responded really well. Egg collection on Monday so took my last injections and trigger shot last night so very exciting however we are doing a freeze all cycle do to my OHSS risk which is disappointing. More waiting for the FET and extra worry about any embryos we do make surviving the thaw.

Hope everyone is ok x

Momo32 · 11/07/2021 13:43

Thank you all guys! I started spotting last night and a had some spotting today too. Freaking out massively but the doctor says to wait to wait till the end of the week and just rest. I tested again today with a clear blue digital - still pregnant. Can't stop reading stuff online and panic.
@dogmam I thinks it's for better to wait and let your body to rest. You'll be in a much better state of mindSmile

tmc2021 · 11/07/2021 13:52

@Momo32 try not to worry it could just be spotting, I know easier said than done how many days past test are you now xx

dogmam · 11/07/2021 17:32

@momo32 ah you must be going crazy with worry bless you. I'm sure you'll be testing daily, despite being told to test at the end of next week, wonder if it's worth using a pink dye test to check progression? Everything crossed for you that this is it for you xx

@bryterlayter1 good news about your appointments, bet you can't wait. That's the same protocol that I'm on. It goes so quick I feel like I've only just started and now I've finished and had my last injections last night.

Ally0400 · 12/07/2021 11:47

@girlwholifts that's an amazing result! Fingers crossed for your next update.

@momo32 that's really difficult. Take care of yourself and do what you can to stay positive. This process is difficult enough as is! Hoping this is just a small bump in the road getting to baby.

Update from me, started my injections last night. Had to put on some music to hype myself up. Now that I've done it once I'll be fine. Just glad to have gotten started. One step closer.

Eiremogra · 12/07/2021 12:14

Hi, so glad I found this thread! We are on the waiting list to start treatment in August..due to be sent invoice and treatment details any day now. We are self funding as we were refused NHS funded place due to my low AMH levels. Has anyone on here taken DHEA in preparation for treatment? Does it make any difference? 🤔 x

Bramhacharya · 12/07/2021 12:26

Does anybody know about the genetic disorder or any health issue to the baby if conceived through IVF in the future

Girlwholifts · 12/07/2021 15:28

Little update from me.
Just had ET so I’m officially PUPO ❤️ Embryologist said there was 1 that really stood out so they’ve gone with that one. Fingers crossed!! Only thing she didn’t say was the grade so I’ve emailed to find out.

@Momo32 like you say, relax and try not to overthink it. Sending baby dust your way!! x

@tmc2021 how did today go for you? x

Bryterlayter1 · 12/07/2021 17:56

@Eiremogra Welcome! With the DHEA, I haven't been taking it, I did read "It Starts With The Egg", and it is highly recommended in that book. I'm really sorry about the NHS funding, I didn't realise there was an AMH cut off. I'm paying for my treatment as well, I didn't pursue the NHS route (too old for my CCG and as in a same sex couple would have had to pay for at least 6 IUIs over a span of 2 years even if I was within the age range).

@Bramhacharya I don't think there are any additional risk of disability/health condition of babies born through IVF. The only risk that I am aware of is that as we get older, our eggs are more likely to have chromosonal abnormalities (hence the increased risk of down symdrome with older mothers), but I don't think those risks are increased due to the IVF process. Not a medical doctor though, so best to ask your clinic. There are ways to test embryos for chromosomal abnormalities if that is a concern.

LS2020 · 12/07/2021 19:49

Hi everyone! Hope you’re keeping well and welcome to the new comers ☺️

@Momo32 oh you must be full of worry! Spotting is still an okay thing at this stage. I progressed into a full bleed within 12 hours with my miscarriage so hopefully it’s just your body settling. Sending you so much love as it’s a terrifying experience.

@Bryterlayter1 ah you’ll be a week or so ahead of me! Doesn’t it feel so far away still 😂 our bloods are booked in 19th.

@Ally0400 how are you finding? I’m reverting back to panic about!

@Eiremogra I’m 4th august so excited to have someone else starting then! I’m not taking anything beyond folic and Vit D.

@Bramhacharya what @Bryterlayter1 said is all I understand on the risk basis. An IVF baby at a woman’s point in time should be no different than a naturally conceived baby.

@Girlwholifts 🥰 is it a weird feeling? Feel like I’d be chatting to it once it’s inside 😂

Hi @Momo32 @Girlwholifts hope transfer went well @Girlwholifts. I had mine to they said both embryos where excellent quality so one transferred an one being frozen.

Hope you ok @Momo32 xx

tmc2021 · 12/07/2021 20:43

@Eiremogra hi I didn't know amh levels determined nhs. I'm private as got a 13 year old from previous relationship am only 34 though x

tmc2021 · 12/07/2021 20:44

@Momo32 has spotting stopped now how you feeling xx

Eiremogra · 12/07/2021 20:59

@LS2020 oh it’s very exciting! I don’t have a date yet…But we are on the list for August just waiting be to told a date. Do you know what your protocol is yet!?

@tmc2021 yes we were told we didn’t meet the criteria for an nhs funded place because of my AMH levels. It’s been such a battle though, we’ve been given little to no information and have spent days chasing up answers ..being told we’d get a call back etc etc. (We have yet to even meet with a consultant)

tmc2021 · 12/07/2021 21:05

@Eiremogra oh no that's not good what clinic are you with? I'm with Chester an I must say they have been amazing xx

dogmam · 12/07/2021 21:31

Little update on me, I had egg collection today and wow I was not prepared for that, I thought I'd be fast asleep but was awake and could feel everything. Not painful but very uncomfortable but in a fair bit of pain since so hot water bottle it is. Anyway the good news is they collected 19 eggs which I'm so pleased about. We will find out tomorrow if any/how many fertilise. Fingers crossed!!

@girlwholifts ahh how exciting! How you feeling and when will you test?

tmc2021 · 12/07/2021 21:36

@dogmam that's amazing EC is painful afterwards I was asleep for mine but woke up in agony xx

dogmam · 12/07/2021 21:57

@tmc2021 sorry I've just re-read previous messages and see you had your transfer today! How are you feeling? Great news one is frozen too. When will you test?
Yeah I am feeling very tender from this morning. How long did it take for you to feel better after collection? It's the stomach area that's really sore for me x

tmc2021 · 12/07/2021 21:59

@dogmam
I felt tender on an of for few days It does ease though. I have to test in 11 days am not doing it before I have never caved before so not again as much as I want to. When do you have transfer then? Xx

LS2020 · 13/07/2021 06:24

@tmc2021 glad your transfer went well and fabulous news on the egg quality!

@dogmam wow 19 sounds amazing but probably a good thing you are taking a rest after that amount! Sorry to hear you’re feeling sore - make sure you rest up lots today.

@Eiremogra are you working it from day 1 of your period? Yeah just a short one - said my plan was a month so start 4th, expected PT date of 3rd September which is weird thought! I get my bloods done on 19th though when I’ll go pick up my plan and have it all written out ☺️

Girlwholifts · 13/07/2021 06:27

@dogmam Glad all went well for you yesterday. Sorry you went though similar to me. It’s not nice but you know you have to get through it for the end result which was amazing! Do you have a date for your ET? I know you said you was having a freeze all, not really sure how that works?

@tmc2021 that’s the same as us ☺️ We too had 2 good ones but one stood out a little more and the other will hopefully be frozen but we find out today 🤞🏼 Feels very strange that there is nothing more that can be done now.

@LS2020 🤣 haha yes I must admit I do keep putting my hand on my tummy and saying please stick little one 🤞🏼They tell you to act as though you are pregnant, rub your tummy etc so I guess you just go with it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hope everyone else is getting on ok x

Bryterlayter1 · 13/07/2021 08:25

@tmc2021 fingers crossed for you!
@dogman glad you got so many eggs, here's hoping loads fertilise!!
