Hey guys!
I was wondering how long it took for the one who have have had egg collection to recover. I am now 3 days past and I'm still uncomfortable it's not getting better but also not getting worse. I was worried about OHSS but I don't have any symptoms apart from being uncomfortable but I'm not in a lot of pain. Any advice on what to do to maybe get better?

@Alexm06 I'm exactly the same. Came out of EC feeling all smug that I wasn't in pain and now feel so stupid! I have sharp pains which I'm guessing is directly from EC as it's in the same place but I have bad cramps higher up and my boobs feel uncomfortably heavy. How do you feel? I'm like you and don't think it's OHSS as no symptoms but haven't heard many others say they suffered 2/3 days after. I normally have a high pain threshold too so feeling annoyed X

@C1aire85 I just have bloated feeling full just uncomfortable which is how I felt after egg
Collection. They did say I bled a lot but I haven't bled since. It's soo confusing isn't it! I've seen it's meant to last 1/2 days so now I'm just worried I won't be able to transfer. Last time I had egg collection I woke up feeling fine no cramping or anything and I was fine the whole time. Maybe I'm paying for it this time hahaha x

@Alexm06 yeah it's so confusing and adds to the worry. I've only just started using a hot water bottle as read heat isn't ideal before EC so thought that was still the same but it's such a nice relief. Fingers crossed it gets better for us as the day goes on 🤞🏼

@C1aire85 yeah I've been using them as well. I did have to have a Google on it though hahaha. Yeah fingers crossed! What day are you past collection? X

@Alexm06 @C1aire85 I'm the exact same and I'm transferring tomorrow if that's any comfort! I'm day 4.

I had terrible cramps ( bad belly and felt sick for all of my Wed night and into Thursday - had EC Wednesday) I called the clinic and she said see how I go by Saturday ( day 3) I had to call with an update. The only thing I felt was sore, like a bad period pain ( also have wind and sore boobs which she said is caused by the pessaries )

She said do no transfer if I'm feeling unwell as it can make it worse but mine was suspected OHSS.

Anyway she said I can still go ahead with what I'm feeling and said it's all normal.

I too were googling and seeing people on here being a lot better and not as sore/ uncomfortable and I too were worried about if I can transfer or not.

Apparently the bloat, wind, cramps, uncomfortable can all be normal and will even happen after transfer so plenty of fluids and seeing how you go.

Just to add those horrible symptoms only lasted a day and a half but since Friday I've only felt uncomfortable so that's why they've said I can still go ahead. They wouldn't have let me obviously with those other symptoms.

So I still feel uncomfortable but nothing major like it was. Just full and almost tender which the nurse said can be from EC.

@strawberrysummer19 yeah that's how I feel I just thought it would have passed by now. I had EC Thursday so I'm 3 days past it. Good to know they will still go ahead with just the uncomfortable feeling. That's the only think I have no other symptoms. X

@Alexm06 yeah me too, I thought it was have passed by now especially when people say they feel completely ok. So you're a day behind me.

It worries me slightly but I've told my clinic how I feel and they said as long as those nasty symptoms have gone which they have then it's ok.

Just wish I didn't feel so tender. My ET is booked for 930 so a nice 5am start for us as our drive is quite far.

@strawberrysummer19 it's reassuring to know other people have felt similar. So pleased it's not affecting your transfer and sounds like you are over the worst of it 🙌🏼 I'm 2 days since EC so hoping this doesn't last too much longer. Feels weird filling my hot water bottle on such a sunny day 😂

@C1aire85 yeah that's what clinic said that I've peaked and over worst of it which is great

I bet by later today / tomorrow you'll be much better. I found it's amazing how quick your body does recover.

Plenty of fluids - I'm drinking coconut water as I've ready that helps as it has electrolytes in it ( when I thought it was OHSS ) but apparently it's so good for you anyway so just drinking lots fluids is going to make you feel better quicker

I’m on ovulation day today (had stims just to thicken my lining) and it is painful! I had over 20 eggs so having to ovulate these naturally is like having a massive period cramp! Drinking lots of coconut water as I found that really helps

@Tarsette ohh you poor thing! That does sound painful. Yes coconut water is my new friend ! X

Transfer question ladies -

So our ET is tomorrow

But we have had no day 3 update which I've dealt with better than I thought BUT as our transfer is so early ( 9:15 in central London !) hoping bank holiday will be kind to us at leaving at 5!!! But when do we know what numbers we have ? As partners aren't allowed in just thought boyfriend will know until I'm done ?

We had 7 fertilise out of 9 eggs so I'm really hoping we do have some or at least one by tomorrow

( day 5 transfer)

@strawberrysummer19 on my last cycle they took us into a room first and told us all about the embryos and how they were going. I did get a 3 day update last time but this one I'm not. Not sure why but yeah took us into a room told us everything (my partner was allowed in) then took us to the the ward part when I got changed so you could always call him then. That is if it's the same as your clinic.

@strawberrysummer19 I also didn't get a 3 day update they just said they would ring if there were any problems and that not hearing anything was a good sign. Then when I had my transfer they took me straight to theatre and the embryologist told me then before I got changed ready for transfer. Difference is they allowed my other half in for transfer.. So maybe they talk to you together before you go down for transfer or something? Would make sense as if you get the option of transferring 1 or 2 it's kind of a decision that would be nice to make together... Hope it all goes well for you tomorrow! And if there was a problem they would give you a call before hand so no news means you have will have at least 1 👍 x

@Alexm06 @Georgie87B thank you, think my partner was going to drop me off as we thought he couldn't come in! Not sure if I should check now. But thing is I don't think we want 2 and maybe I can just decide for us

It's a shame he isn't there but as I say not sure he needs to be if he can't actually come in x

Thanks for thinking of me @strawberrysummer19 it's not looking good, pretty sure it's af now. Doctor said to stop aspirin and clexane as I'm bleeding quite considerably now. Blood test will confirm what I know tomorrow. Absolutely devastated x

@VenusStarr I'm so sorry honey! If it is negative do you know when you can have another attempt?

@Flissa7 when is OTD for you? How you've been able to take some time for yourself.

@VenusStarr You can't do this without hope so never feel silly for being hopeful. Hope you've taken time for yourself, and that you have lots of self kindness for yourself for tomorrow.

@strawberrysummer19 We horns day 3 update, and I requested a call on day of transfer to confirm there was something to transfer. It wasn't until we got to clinic we got told both had made it to day 5. Im lucky our clinic has allowed partners in for transfers whole time. Good luck for transfer!

@C1aire85 Sore boobs might be progesterone, my boobs were in agony and my nipples were so over sensitive even showering was uncomfortable right up until day or two before AF

Thanks for checking in. Very tired and emotional - my bleeding has been super heavy today so I know we’re out. Trying so desperately to think to the future & next steps, but equally struggling with that worry that it’ll always be this way 😞😢.

@notyetamumbuttrying I didn't feel anything after trigger, other than a bit nervous anticipation!

@Flissa7 I always find it takes time to build up enough hope to be able to go again. Best of luck to you for next steps in your journey.
