Hi ☺️
Just starting up a little thread if anyone wants to join me on their FET journey for May/June. I've never had a FET cycle before and wondered if anyone was or is on their way with this journey to offer support and guidance x

@rainbowtime21 congrats on being PUPO. I've not seen someone flush the catheter before, they put in minimal fluid because too much liquid prevents implantation. In mine they just syringe it in and then the embryologist takes the catheter and checks with a microscope that it's not still in there. Was the embryologist around because they wouldn't have let you go before being confident it's in there

@Mez12 congrats on being PUPO! That sounds good that you've had a BFP already, I don't think your bleeding question has an answer. If there's doubt they can do blood tests to make sure hcg is rising.

rainbowtime21 · 05/06/2021 11:54

@Tarsette ohhh congrats on being PUPO!! My test day isn’t until June 15, aaages away! How about you? Don’t worry if it hasn’t expanded, I was told they always look a bit different after thaw!

You’re right, every little thing causes stress. I’ve had other transfers but never felt a concern about the embryo not actually going in before. Ugh ugh ugh.

rainbowtime21 · 05/06/2021 11:58

@Gardenlady543 thanks for the reply... the embryologist was there but I don’t think they look once they transfer it in the catheter..they just showed me on the screen the little bubble going in but that could just be the air or something!

I have always had the doctor say it to me after that he checks it’s not there so no idea.

Just hope for the best I guess but I can’t shake this awful feeling!

Gardenlady543 · 05/06/2021 12:05

@rainbowtime21 I think the protocols are so strict, I'm sure they did everything right. They probably just didn't tell you exactly what they were doing.

2mumlife · 05/06/2021 13:29

@Pingupp I plead the 5th on the number of tests I have hoarded in the bathroom at the moment Shock

@Tarsette Nope no more measurements for me. My clinic are very hands-off I find compared to other places (I've had 1 lining scan and that'll be it now until ET and I'll go in for bloods if I reach OTD - so 3 visits in total for the whole cycle). I'm hoping it will have thickened some as scan was Thursday morning, and I've still been on the estradiol tablets and not starting progesterone until tomorrow morning, so its have a fair while to thicken up a little bit more hopefully, and at least at scan I did have the tri-layer pattern going on. Its interesting you mention thin lining and coils - I had a mirena coil in my 20s (to help with irregular heavy periods and PMDD rather than contraception). I wish I new how thick my lining was now for my other cycles - I was always so focussed on follicule sizes then. Congrats on having embryo on board and good luck for first test!

@Gardenlady543 I find often anyone having the urine test got told to test a little later than if having bloods done, but 16 days really seems a long time. Are you going to POAS earlier? I've read about lining thickness measurements obviously changing depending on the person doing the scan. Glad you've got the go ahead

@rainbowtime21 I think its normal to stress about absolutely everything, but I'm sure it'll have gone in!

@Mez12 Some women bleed and spot a lot in early pregnancy from what I understand but no personal experience sorry

Gardenlady543 · 05/06/2021 15:04

@2mumlife yeah I don't think I will be able to help myself. I guess there's arguments for and against early testing. The earliest positive I've seen is 4dp5dt. In my fresh cycle I was bleeding from 8dp5dt and I found it was helpful to have tested as it had been negative, if I was bleeding due to progesterone being too low, then at least I knew it hadn't actually implanted. There is the argument that you could pick up a chemical, which I know would be devastating, but at the same time I've never had a BFP and I guess a chemical would at least be a step in the right direction.

2mumlife · 05/06/2021 15:39

@Gardenlady543 I feel a bit the same way as you re: chemical pregnancy, as I've never had anything, so also feel a bit like at least it would indicate something had happened for once

Bluemeadowbaby · 05/06/2021 15:53

@Tarsette special cargo on board right there! 😍 wishing you lots of luck, sorry to hear you've had chemicals in the past...hoping for a true bfp for you x

@Mez12 wishing you lots of luck and sounding great with positive tests! 🤞🏼 i spotted quite a bit after positive with my fresh cycles, he's now splashing away in his paddling pool. Keep positive lovely, brown is old but red and heavy I would be more concerned x

Bluemeadowbaby · 05/06/2021 15:59

@rainbowtime21 congratulations on being PUPO! And welcome to the board 💐 sorry to hear you've left feeling stressed, it's easy for me to say it'll be fine but I think in these situations when we "know the process" it can make it harder to relax. Sometimes we do just have to trust the process and I'm certain that little embie is in there and hopefully making its way to its home. Keep positive x

@2mumlife I think my partner would go mad if I buy any more tests! One thing that is weird is my clinic don't do a blood test ? I just have to call them on 14th with the result and we take it from there.
I don't feel anything really today and am worrying now it just hasn't worked. This is going to be a real hard wait I reckon ☹️

Bluemeadowbaby · 05/06/2021 17:58

@Pingupp my clinic don't either which I find a bit strange and it makes it really daunting. How many dpt are you? X

Ladies, I'm just wondering if anyone has a timeline of FET cycle? I know they all differ but just trying to plan my life 😂
So, I've been given the go ahead to start norethisterone next Friday to time my cycle but have been told to stay on it until they say. There was talk of zoladex injection along with HRT, estrogen patches and progesterone pessaries. I've used all these before for my fresh cycles - not the hrt and zoladex - so just wondering if anyone can give me a guide on how it all works/how long we will be waiting. Looking for a guideline as I know along the way there's always changes 🙈 thanks! X

@Bluemeadowbaby I am 3 dp5dt 😬

2mumlife · 05/06/2021 22:04

@Pingupp Clinics are just different. My clinic always seem to do far less scans and tests than others, but they always do hcg blood test when I know a lot of clinics just ask for POAS. I made a big thing of doing POAS with DP our first few IUIs, but last cycle I went a bit nuts and kept buying tests because I was bleeding and at first wasn't sure if it was AF or not, then was certain it was AF but clinic had told me to keep taking cyclogest, so I peed on SO many tests last cycle, that this cycle I just wanted a little stock pile. I'm still not really sure how early I want to test. I had been a lot more relaxed about only testing from around 10days post ovulation/IUI but last cycle really took me back bleeding 4dp5dt so I just wanted to having them there if I did want to test.

@Bluemeadowbaby As you say all different. I wasn't on any down regulation or birth control prior to my cycle. I phoned clinic CD2 (as clinic was closed on my CD1) and get go head to start estrodiol pills and 7 day course of fyremadel from CD3. CD12 I had lining scan. I start progesterone tomorrow (CD15) and will have transfer CD20 all being well. My OTD will be roughly CD30 I think (will get that confirmed at ET).

I'm actually feeling nervous about starting progesterone tomorrow - its my first ever injection I have to self administor (my DP has done all the others, but she's away caving for the weekend). I'm also curious to see how bad the utrogestan gloop experience is tomorrow

Mancbear88 · 06/06/2021 00:27

@Bluemeadowbaby this is my predicted timeline. There’s two variations because I think I’ll need three weeks not two on the oestrogen as my lining is slow. Clinics are all different though.

Tarsette · 06/06/2021 02:35

@Gardenlady543 forgot to say: I often get very different measurements with my lining as it tends to contract from time to time so depending on when they measure there could be up to 1mm difference (which is massive when you’re aiming for 8mm). My clinic tend to take several measurements over the course of a few minutes. Once it varied between 6.9 and 7.7...

Re testing, I find I evolve diver my various cycles. At first I couldn’t wait to test as I was still quite hopeful it had worked, I guess. Whereas now I would rather stay in my PUPO bubble as long as possible because I am pretty convinced it hasn’t worked, due to having so many unsuccessful cycles... seven full more days left!

StrongEagle · 06/06/2021 07:57

Hello, it's me ET tomorrow and my anxiety has gone through the roof. I barely slept last night and was laying there feeling so stressed. A lot of it is about the fact the timing has changed from the morning to the afternoon, and this massively impacts my job (I have 4 really important meetings in the afternoon which I am going to need to find cover for tomorrow morning). My bf keeps saying how this is more important and to stop worrying, which I know it true but doesn't help. Also last night I kept getting weird tummy aches, like period pains but not. Now I'm convinced I am going to come on my period before ET, even though my consultant said I won't. And now because I am stressing so much I am convinced it won't work because of me and my stress/anxiety levels. 😞 I know there isn't much people can say but I really just needed to get it all off my chest x

2mumlife · 06/06/2021 08:27

@Tarsette That's crazy how much lining estimate varies over a few mins!

@StrongEagle I'm sorry you didn't sleep well. Can you try do something fun and distracting today? I understand the work thing - I don't actually have anyone who can cover for me because of what I do, but I'm getting used to just saying 'I can't attend X' etc.

First Utrogestan and Lubion this morning. Utrogestan kind of felt burny/itchy whilst it was dissolving and now just feel a bit like when you can feel small amount of blood working its way down during a period (sorry for TMI). Lubion injection was a bit of a nightmare and I somehow managed to create a bit of a vaccuum in the vial and lost a little bit trying to get air bubbles out but its done and DP has been instructed to get back for the evening injection and resume duties!

StrongEagle · 06/06/2021 11:09

@2mumlife good work on the vaccine, they are so fiddly x I'm with you on the utrogestan! Even though I'm wearing panty liners all the time I still just feel a bit yucky down there all the time.
I feel a bit better after a good long walk this morning. I don't think the fact I am having really vivid dreams is helping, and they are all about things like missing the train to my ET appointment or my clock being wrong and missing my appointment 😂 making me on edge x

2mumlife · 06/06/2021 11:45

@StrongEagle Oh dear! Have you tried doing something relaxing before bed? I popped on a panty liner but I seem to have passed most the capsule residue when I went to bathroom not long ago. It didn't really find it gloopy, more like having a heavy discharge I guess. TBH not as bad as I was expecting - I imagine cyclogest gives a nastier discharge

Pingupp · 06/06/2021 17:46

@StrongEagle try headspace or an app like that - loads of nice things to listen to and help you switch off. I had terrible insomnia before my transfer. I think it's perfectly natural xx

@2mumlife they aren't as bad a cyclogest at all. Good on you for doing the 1st shot. I have done 2 on my own and never feel as though I have got it right xx

Mez12 · 06/06/2021 17:53

Thanks for your replies guys. Unfortunately its not a good news. Started bleeding more so decided to go A&E, scan didnt show no pregnancy, they did blood test which showed 1920 hcg levels, as per my Ivf calculators I should be 4 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I am heart broken and beyond devastated. So close yet so far away again!! :(

Gardenlady543 · 06/06/2021 18:41

@Mez12 would a pregnancy show up this early on a scan, that hcg sounds like a good level? Have you spoken to your clinic? I'm sure they will say carry on the medications.

Mez12 · 06/06/2021 19:43

Hopefully the clinic will get back to me tomorrow, Hcg levels gave me some hope but amount of bleeding is just too much to have any hope.
