Hi ☺️
Just starting up a little thread if anyone wants to join me on their FET journey for May/June. I've never had a FET cycle before and wondered if anyone was or is on their way with this journey to offer support and guidance x

@starkid I’m so sorry. Hope you are able to give yourself time to feel your feelings and that you have lots of real life support. Take your time to work out what your next steps might look like.

Updates wise here have started bleeding (dear Lord, so heavy on day 1! Is that normal with buserelin?) so have reduced my buserelin and started estradiol. So far feeling ok on it but I’m currently camping on my sister’s farm surrounded by family who all know what’s going on and have my back, with no work and sunshine. Which I honestly think is going a long way towards mitigating any side effects for now.

Sending peace and luck to all.

Pingupp · 01/06/2021 22:28

@2mumlife I am on utrogestan and they aren't as messy as cyclogest that I was on last time... the pessaries aren't as big either but yes the thin pant liners are handy.
My transfer is tomorrow....
I have been in such a bad mood tonight - much to my partners delight! Got to love the hormones!!
Good luck for Mon!

2mumlife · 02/06/2021 07:13

@StrongEagle Utrogestan is a new party for me but following @pingupp and @Gardenlady543s advise with the panty liners.

@Verbena87 I don't seem to have had really any side effects of the estrogen. Bit thirsty. I had one day of feeling knackered and a bit nauseous but I think they was the Fyremedal.

Bluemeadowbaby · 02/06/2021 18:19

@Pingupp how did it go with transfer? X

@Bluemeadowbaby it was lovely, a bit painful and surreal but lovely!! To see it on the screen was really cool. Had a really good day. So it's now the waiting game 🤞🏻😁

Bluemeadowbaby · 02/06/2021 21:05

@Pingupp aw this sounds like a great day! Wishing you lots of luck! What have you got planned to keep you busy? It's amazing seeing them put back on the screen isn't it, I remember saying to the embryologist "is that it?" Over in a flash...quite literally the "flash" of little embryo light 🥰 x

OP posts:
Pingupp · 03/06/2021 07:38

@Bluemeadowbaby yes that little flash 😍
I have got the rest of the week off - doing nothing today! Hoping the sun will be out so I can potter in the garden, maybe go for a walk with a good podcast on. I am listening to shagged, married, annoyed- so funny!
Back at work on mon so that will be a good distraction. I am on steroids so can't really go into any places now but will be meeting friends for walks when I can and decaf coffees outside.
What is happening with you?

@Tarsette how are you doing?

Xx

2mumlife · 03/06/2021 10:37

@Pingupp Congrats on ET!

My first lining scan today 7.12mm Was hoping for something a bit thicker tbh but we'll see what clinic says later today when they call with the action plan.

Kind of distressingly it was one of the nurses I haven't seen for awhile and we were talking about my IVF stim round, and even she said "why did they stop your stims so early?". So that horrible nagging that my EC round was totally messed up is back! Urgghhh

Pingupp · 03/06/2021 14:03

@2mumlife thank you!!
So what is the next steps for you?
It is so frustrating when you are in the hands of the experts but sometimes the info is not correctly passed on. It's a very confusing process x

2mumlife · 03/06/2021 15:50

@Pingupp I've not had call back yet, but my online drug diary has been updated to start progesterone on Sunday, for ET end of next week (not sure entirely when thats not in the diary). I'm assuming my lining will still thicken a little next couple of days? is madly searching journals to see whether lining keep thickening after starting progesterone

2mumlife · 03/06/2021 19:17

@Pingupp So that's me confirmed ET next Friday. Really hoping my lining gets a bit thicker before then Confused

Pingupp · 03/06/2021 19:30

@2mumlife I am sure it will do. The doc didn't tell me how thick my lining was yesterday but last fri it was 7.5mm and I was told the 5 days of luteal support gets it nice and thicker. Have faith in the drugs - they will do their bit. I also drank pom juice every morning - although I think that is a bit of a psychological thing..... and ate pretty well - no crap where I could etc.
It will be ok! Xx

StrongEagle · 03/06/2021 20:17

@Pingupp yay on the ET nice to read that you're going to be relaxing for the rest of the week

@2mumlife that's great news about your transfer date!

My ET is Monday and I have just looked at my work diary for next week and it's pretty busy, I'm working from home so I will just be sat at my desk so I'm guessing that should be ok? I know this will sound stupid but when they transfer I just can't get my head round how gravity doesn't just mean it will fall out. I know it's so stupid but if it's microscopic and doesn't implant for a few days and especially if they put it in with a tiny bit of fluid why doesn't it just fall out? Might need to YouTube this otherwise I will need to start practicing walking on my hands 😂

Pingupp · 03/06/2021 20:38

@StrongEagle well it has to go through your cervix which was the painful bit for me- my partner filmed it and you can hear me wincing!! ! It is all very cosy and spongy in there so it can't fall out as the cervix is closed. Don't worry!!
As for wfh next week - I reckon you will be fine. I am back wfh next week too. Take plenty of breaks- wear comfy loose bottoms. Just take it easy on Monday afterwards- no hot baths etc. I was told not to get too hot on that day - so no doing a hit session or sitting in a hot tub. He also told me to not let the bladder get too full - frequent wee's needed which was no problem for me as I bloated straightaway and with all the routing to get embaby in - any wee feels like a massive one! I honestly peed so much yesterday! It has calmed down today. Sorry if that is tmi! ;-)
Hope this helps!! X

2mumlife · 03/06/2021 20:49

@Pingupp Thank you for the reassurance. I think I just desperately want to find something I can "fix" or "do" to try to take back some control and feel like I can influence things so the lining is the only thing I feel I can obsess over! I've been doing pom and beetroot juice and the healthy eating kick too. I really wish I new what my lining was like at previous scans!

@StrongEagle I was going to say cervix too! If you've never had anything put through your cervix before, you'll find this experience good for realising your cervix is definitely a tight thing and not a gaping hole that anything passes through easily! It definitely hurts - though I've got to say my ET was less painful than IUI, and both WAY less painful than getting the Mirena coil put in. @Pingupp can't believe your partner filmed it!

StrongEagle · 03/06/2021 20:56

@Pingupp @2mumlife thank you! 😂 I just assumed there was a little hole because of periods and stuff. And whilst I don't want a painful experience at all I will be pleased to be assured it can't just fall out, and of course I know it can't because people wouldn't get pregnant otherwise but my silly brain still won't compute!

Bluemeadowbaby · 03/06/2021 21:06

@Pingupp haha that podcast is brill isn't it, absolutely hilarious 😄 sounds like a lovely week off! I hope the weather stays lovely for you. Do you mind me asking, are the steroids part of your treatment?
I feel slightly frustrated but trying not to get too ahead of myself, I'm due to start norethisterone next Friday to start my cycle but the clinic are so backed up with appointments I've been told just to take it until they tell me to stop and that it will be "a last minute" notification for appointments. I mean, I don't mind...I'm one for a bit of a thrill 😄 but when we've paid for our cycle I'd expect a little bit more than this so feel a bit miffed. I'm sure it'll all fall into place it just feels quite uncertain x

Bluemeadowbaby · 03/06/2021 21:08

@2mumlife how did the call go today? Ah damn, it's little comments that can play round and round in our heads isn't it 🙈 x

OP posts:
Bluemeadowbaby · 03/06/2021 21:11

@StrongEagle your comment really tickled me 😂 I had all sorts running through my head when I had my first transfer and when the nurse said "stand up and go to the toilet" I was like WHAT?! It'll fall out!!! I still don't know how they can't fall out like 😄 x

OP posts:
StrongEagle · 03/06/2021 21:34

@Bluemeadowbaby 😂😂 I'd feel more comfortable if they used a bit of glue or something 😂 I'm slowly losing the plot!
That does seem a bit much especially because you're paying, but at least they aren't delaying your treatment until they can find appointments x

TheDutchess3 · 03/06/2021 21:48

Hilarious girls:)) Btw there is a thing called EmbryoGlue, they use it in some clinics and apparently it helps to make it stick:) Although the evidence (the size of the research) is debatable.

Mancbear88 · 03/06/2021 21:59

@2mumlife my lining was only 6.9mm at my last transfer. The nurses had to get the consultant to approve the transfer as it was less than 7mm and I got a positive Smile. Good luck!

Mancbear88 · 03/06/2021 22:03

@2mumlife sorry I missed your other message! I’ve started today first day of my induced bleed.
🤞🤞
I’m on a lot of oestrogen (6 pills, 8 pessaries and 250mg patches) so good luck to my husband 😂

2mumlife · 03/06/2021 22:10

@Bluemeadowbaby It's the peeing after that distresses me @StrongEagle they make you full your bladder and press on it to scan abdomen during ET so first thing you want to do is pee but you really don't want to like squish out the embryo clenching your bladder Blush

@mancbear88 That's really reassuring! Also wow so much estrogen! Is that age or due to needing a lot to get lining to thicken? I've just been on estrodiol pills 3 times a day

Pingupp · 03/06/2021 22:20

@Bluemeadowbaby I do like Rosie - she cracks me up!
So I have a under active thyroid and had bloods done at the request of the clinic in case I had thyroid antibodies - which I do :-( So my body would attack the embaby! The steroids are to protect embaby until they get their own defence which I think is 12 weeks?
I take 5 x 5 mg tablets every morning with food.
I think because if Covid many clinics are the same. You just have to trust the process. It will all fall into place I'm sure. Xx
