Hi ☺️
Just starting up a little thread if anyone wants to join me on their FET journey for May/June. I've never had a FET cycle before and wondered if anyone was or is on their way with this journey to offer support and guidance x

@Bluemeadowbaby oh that sounds lovely!

I have my first scan tomorrow morning which is CD11 of my FET. I've been really stressed and anxious so I hope it goes well and that I can relax a bit after it.

starkid · 30/05/2021 18:41

Hi @Bluemeadowbaby, hot tub sounds amazing 🤩
@Gardenlady543 good luck for tomorrow!

I'm 12dp5dt and been getting nausea last few days and no period in sight, however I tested at home yesterday and it was negative, so probably just the progesterone gel causing the sickness 🙄 Blood test at the hospital is Tuesday so we'll see if testing yesterday was too early or it really hasn't worked.

In my fresh cycle I didn't get any nausea with the progesterone, and I got my period while on it during the second week... so not really sure what to think this time around as it has felt completely different to the last time! Really wish I hadn't done that test though 😔

2mumlife · 30/05/2021 20:36

@starkid Fingers crossed for Tuesday for you! Progesterone made me boobs feel ridiculously tender but no sickness so hopefully it's a sign something is happening for you!

@Bluemeadowbaby Trip sound great!

@Gardenlady543 Good luck for scan!

All pretty boring here, last Fyremedal injection for me tomorrow morning. Other than still being thirsty and that night of weird pain not really been having side effects. Lining scan is Thursday for me so looking forward to knowing what's what then

starkid · 30/05/2021 20:38

Yeah weirdly my boobs are absolutely fine (usually they're ultra painful before my period). Everything is completely different to usual and my fresh transfer 2ww!

2mumlife · 30/05/2021 20:57

@starkid Do you think you will POAS again or wait for Tuesday? All sounds very curious!

starkid · 30/05/2021 20:59

No definitely not testing again, I regret doing it!!
It was a cheap test not a good one, but still, I'm pretty close to two weeks since transfer now so must be true 😔🤷

2mumlife · 30/05/2021 21:19

@starkid Sounds like it's not a definite either way. Fingers crossed for you and keep the hope alive Flowers

Bluemeadowbaby · 31/05/2021 21:04

@starkid keeping my fingers crossed for you lovely x

Hey everyone, had my blood test today and it was negative, so end of the road in terms of NHS IVf rounds and no other embryos in the freezer, so back to square one. Feel very flat.

Bluemeadowbaby · 01/06/2021 12:56

@starkid so sorry to read this, I know how deflating it feels, sending big hugs. Keep hope, keep strong & be kind to yourself lovely 💐 x

@starkid Sorry to hear its a negative on this occasion. Best of luck with wherever this journey takes you next Flowers

Tarsette · 01/06/2021 13:16

@starkid really sorry it’s a negative. Take time to grieve and hopefully you will find the strength and ressources for another cycle...

Pingupp · 01/06/2021 16:08

@starkid omg I am so sorry for you. How devastating.
Take some time to process this and decide next steps for you.
I am really sorry. Xx

starkid · 01/06/2021 16:10

Thanks guys xx

StrongEagle · 01/06/2021 17:18

Sending you love @starkid xxx

Gardenlady543 · 01/06/2021 19:00

I'm really sorry to hear your news @starkid Thanks

My update is that I had hoped my scan yesterday would help me to relax but the blood test showed my oestrogen is 8000, in a medicated FET this is really really strange. Last time it was 800. It didn't even get this high in my fresh cycle. My repeat was 7000 today so the result is definitely really high. I'm back in on Thursday for another repeat. The doctors at my clinic are completely perplexed. Has anyone heard of such a high oestrogen level in a FET before?

StrongEagle · 01/06/2021 19:15

Hi @Gardenlady543 do they check this with blood tests? I didn't get checked my levels during my fresh and neither on this FET. I saw my doctor today and he checked my lining with Wanda (9.6mm I think he said) and the transfer is booked for Monday. I wonder if they are forgetting to check something else?

Gardenlady543 · 01/06/2021 19:29

@StrongEagle from what the nurse said they don't do it routinely. In my last FET they wanted my lining to grow faster so wanted to see if there was scope to increase my estradiol (which there was as my oestrogen wasn't too high).

In this FET the nurse scanning me yesterday was concerned that I could be producing a follicle as she'd seen a fluid collection around an ovary. They tested oestrogen because if it was a follicle then that would usually add about 1000 onto the oestrogen level. However that fluid collection has been there since my fresh cycle and it was confirmed today that there is no follicle (which is good).

I'm wondering if this super high oestrogen could explain why I am so anxious although my friend said oestrogen is a calming hormone, so who knows?!

A lining of 9.6mm is amazing! It sounds like you're all set to go!

StrongEagle · 01/06/2021 19:49

@Gardenlady543 ohh I see, that's great news about the follicle, having the high reading will that stop the transfer? Do have have an expected day for transfer?

I start my progesterone tomorrow, I have just been reading the instructions and I can already tell I am going to be worrying constantly that I am not putting the tablets up high enough. My doctor told me that my transfer has about a 25% chance of success which just seems so low to me, I don't know what I was expecting tbh but feels like such a slim chance x

2mumlife · 01/06/2021 19:56

@Gardenlady543 Hopefully things can still go ahead with the high estrogen? I'm also like @StrongEagle there are no bloods scheduled for me just scan.

@StrongEagle Are you on Utrogestan or cyclogest sorry I've forgotten! Exciting you're starting progesterone, not long until transfer for you!

Gardenlady543 · 01/06/2021 19:58

@StrongEagle so I will only be told to start the progesterone when I get up to 9mm as that's my cut off so I suspect I'll be looking at a week on Friday at the earliest. I had an ERA and I'm prereceptive so I'll be on progesterone for 6 full days rather than the standard 5 before the transfer.

The 25% comes from the national average, most clinic have success rates of around 33%, there are so many factors at play though. I've had lots of tests since my fresh and frozen transfer and I'm using a euploid embryo so a specialist has told me I hopefully should have a 70% chance of success. I really really hope that I get a BFP, I have never had one in my life before.

Gardenlady543 · 01/06/2021 20:06

@2mumlife I asked if anyone had mentioned cancelling and the nurse said no, luckily. I think oestrogen levels will naturally rise to above this level in the 2nd trimester of pregnancy but there seems to be some evidence that very high oestrogen before the transfer could affect success rates, then again other studies don't show much difference.

StrongEagle · 01/06/2021 20:32

@Gardenlady543 what's a euploid? Sorry if I should know this, I feel so new to all these words. That's a great % rate though! I am going to be keeping everything crossed for you 🤞

@2mumlife I am going to be taking Utrogestan, have you had that before? I have read on the other group that's it's messy which sounds unfun 😂 Monday is transfer day and it can't come around quick enough, as soon as I get near a milestone I get so impatient, I hate to think how I will fair during the 2ww! Xxx

Gardenlady543 · 01/06/2021 20:53

@StrongEagle I did PGT-A testing on my embryos, as we age the chance of an aneuploid embryo increases (this means there isn't 23 pairs of chromosomes). Euploid means that there appears to be 23 pairs. An aneuploid embryo will usually not implant, miscarry or cause a condition like Down's syndrome. It's debated whether we should test or not, in my case I had a good amount of embryos so it made sense to find the ones most likely to work.

I used utrogestan in the past, it's a bit messy, so I just planned to have a lot of spare pairs of underwear and change then a few times a day.

StrongEagle · 01/06/2021 21:06

@Gardenlady543 thank you for explaining, and it makes so much sense. I felt like I had researched so much going into IVF but there is always so much more to know. Thank you for the tip! I will definitely do that! Already stocked up on the underwear liners x
