Hi ☺️
Just starting up a little thread if anyone wants to join me on their FET journey for May/June. I've never had a FET cycle before and wondered if anyone was or is on their way with this journey to offer support and guidance x

@Verbena87 Clinic communication was a lot better last year (I really do think due to having less patients). They were always a bit stressful getting drugs ordered etc on time when I did back-to-back IUIs and I did need to do an 1hr round trip once to pick up meds from the clinic as meds hadn't arrived on time once, but they've normally always been good when you're 'in' in the cycle itself, and normally call back times are pretty good when you need to speak to a nurse.

That's reassuring. I guess I'll just see this cycle and know to pay more attention when they're measuring lining thickness from now on! They got back about this mysterious extra appointment on Monday and they've said they've deleted it now from treatment calendar and I'm just to come next Thursday, so its awhile to wait to see how lining is going.

StrongEagle · 25/05/2021 11:08

Glad you have started the process @2mumlife and thank you all for the words of encouragement x
I've had a tough weekend, I fainted and gave myself concussion, have very sick but got the sign off from the hospital. Luckily they said it's not the progynova. I still feel all foggy and weird though so it's making work tough.
I have my scan on 1st June, that's the first one to check the lining and then I think after that I start progesterone? Does anyone know roughly what date transfer is on a FET? I really want to try and keep my diary free from meetings as much as possible x

Verbena87 · 25/05/2021 15:32

@StrongEagle my lining scan is currently booked for 15th June and if all’s well transfer will be some time week beginning 21st. In my last cycle, transfer was 6 days after lining scan. It’ll depend how your lining looks at the scan though.

StrongEagle · 25/05/2021 15:48

Thanks @Verbena87 this is super helpful 🙂 my impatience is getting the best of me x

Tarsette · 25/05/2021 15:57

@2mumlife glad you were able to start! I hope you don’t have any lining issues. I have Ben battling with them for several years now and they really suck...there isn’t much you can do to thicken a lining that doesn’t want to cooperate...

I just had my day 10 scan and the lining is only 6.5mm, so I might have to cancel the cycle. It feels like such a waste after having all these injections. This is my 11th cycle so I also worry I am doing harm to myself by having so much estrogen pumped into my body (I know there is a link between estrogen and certain cancer). Feeling pretty low today...

2mumlife · 25/05/2021 16:44

@StrongEagle Oh no! Hope you're ok? Do you know what caused it? Its my first FET so don't realy know much about timing - my med diary says its normally 10-20 days of estrogen to build up lining before adding in progesterone. My first scan is going to be on CD12 which is day 10 of estrogen. I know I've got to start Lubion injections for several days before my FET transfer. We've got a few days away by the coast from the 7th June, so garatuneed that'll be when my transfer is! We've already accepted though we might need to do a round trip

@Tarsette I thought over 7mm was considered good? You sound not far off at all and only day 10 so hopefully a few more days will get you to over the 7mm mark?

Tarsette · 25/05/2021 17:10

@2mumlife my clinic wants at least 8mm and from my experience in previous cycles, if it is only at 6.5 on day 10, it is unlikely it will get to where it needs to be (I have had it even decrease before...)

Verbena87 · 25/05/2021 18:13

@Tarsette that’s a bugger. Sending a hug and thick-lining thoughts.

@StrongEagle I think @2mumlife is right, the nurse said I need 14 plus days on estrogen (I’m downregging first which might explain the difference in number of days) before my lining scan, then if all looks good at lining scan continue estrogen, stop buserelin (fucking YES PLEASE! 🤣) and add progesterone. Transfer the following week.

2mumlife · 26/05/2021 10:24

@Tarsette Ah ok. Thats interesting you've found you don't progress much after day 10, is that usual or just your indiivudal pattern do you know? Hopefully cycle doesn't get cancelled, it must be so frustrating for you.

Not sure if its the Fyramedal or estrogen but feeling really washed out. I could absolutely just go for a nap right now if I didn't need to work! Hoping these are more temporary side effects. I'm also noticing the tail end of my period is a bit more prolonged than usual for me as well which I wasn't sure if that was an effect of the drugs. Weird question, but does your lining start building after your done period, or can the two happen simultaneously? Hmm

Mancbear88 · 27/05/2021 00:41

I’m just starting my FET. I started my noristorene on Sunday, potentially transferring end of June or start of July.

This is my 4 transfer, 2 miscarriages and a fail so far. Plus two cycles cancelled due to Covid. Fingers crossed this is my sticky bean🤞

Good luck to everyone , hope for loads of positives 😊

2mumlife · 27/05/2021 11:11

@Mancbear88 I think I might have seen you on another forum before? Take it your starting on CD21? Hopefully this is your cycle!

Feeling a lot better today, and looks like my period has stopped now too, so now just focussing on super healthy eating until lining check next Thursday. Feels like ages away!

StrongEagle · 27/05/2021 11:34

Thanks @Verbena87 and @2mumlife for giving me a rough timeline. I love my consultant but he is looking after me exclusively and so I don't have nurses to ask questions to, I only have his mobile number and I feel uncomfortable texting him all the times 😂.

I thought I felt rough because of the fainting head bashing incident on Saturday but I this it must be the progynova because it's not letting up. I feel queezy and thirsty, has anyone else had that? Sleeping like a log too! 😂

I've got a feeling my consultant is going to suggest putting back my 2 x 4BC embryos when I speak to him, anyone else had 2 embryos transferred?

firefly37 · 27/05/2021 12:35

Hi and welcome @Mancbear88
@2mumlife hope your doing ok on your meds ...
@Tarsette fingers crossed for you lining to play ball …
@StrongEagle... sorry to hear about your fainting episode and hope you are doing ok now. Re 2 embryos, I asked my clinic r for both my embies to be transferred but they wont for risk of multiple birth ..

So all my "pre tests/checks/scans" are complete and I have been given the go ahead to start my meds in my June cycle! So I am looking at transfer hopefully around 21st June xx

starkid · 27/05/2021 12:49

Am now 9dp5dt after my FET and don't have any symptoms of anything at all. Got my blood test next Tuesday 🤞🤞

Verbena87 · 27/05/2021 16:14

Got it all crossed for Tuesday @starkid

Welcome @Mancbear88 🙂

@StrongEagle we did single embryo transfer before and will again unless advised otherwise at short notice. I guess it’s one of those things with lots of variables to consider though so I’d listen to your consultant and ask lots of questions.

2mumlife · 27/05/2021 17:10

@StrongEagle Sorry you're still not feeling great. I felt queezy the first day only and really tired first 2 days of Fyremadel / elleste solo and had a head ache, but since I started them at same time hard to know which was causing it, but I tended to feel better in evening so I think its the Fyremadel. I've been alright today (day 3 of both), but I've noticed I'm more thirsty at the moment as well (which cant really be a bad thing as I probably don't drink enough usually!). Hopefully it lets up for you soon?

I think I'm fairly unusual / in the minority that I'm personally against having 2 embryos put back. I have a short cervix that I've already been warned is probably going to need a cervical stitch so a multiple pregnancy would be bad news as it would make the situation with my cervix worse. And just in general, I personally don't think an elective multiple preganancy that potentially puts yourself and babies at risk is appropriate. Partly this might be because I know alot about how low birth weight and being light for dates has an impact on development. Its a very personal choice though, and the right choice for me is not necceserily the right choice for you! I've seen a lot of woman requesting / having 2 embryos to be put back, and I can sympathise why women make that decision, in terms of wanting to get a pregnancy as quickly as possible. I just personally would not do it though, except perhaps if I was in the situation where I had e.g. 2 embryos not suitable for freezing for instance. In that situation I think I would find it emotionally difficult not to give both the chance at surviving.

@firefly37 Yeah lot better today, side effects don't seem to be bothering me as much which is good.

@starkid Good luck for blood test, main thing is no AF yet so everything is still positive!

Verbena87 · 27/05/2021 20:42

@2mumlife I’m with you on favouring single embryo transfer. I had pretty drastic birth injuries last time and my pelvic floor is permanently compromised so I’m not keen to overload it any further than necessary really. How did you find out your cervix is short? Mine feels way shorter than it used to but I think it might be more that my vaginal walls/pelvic organs have sagged down round it rather than an actual structural change to my cervix itself.

2mumlife · 27/05/2021 20:51

@Verbena87 I had treatment for pre-cancerous cervical changes in my 20s and was warned first then it could lead to shortening cervix. I hadn't thought much of it, but then literally right after ET (my legs were still in the stirrups) consultant said he could see my cervix was short. They've since written a letter to GP telling them I need monitored if I become pregnant. Interestingly my sister is pregnant now and also had pre-cancerous changes to cervix treated a year or so after I did, and at 12 week scan was picked up for possible short cervix and is being monitored. So I don't know if it might be something genetic too

Verbena87 · 27/05/2021 22:39

@2mumlife ah I think you mentioned this early on the thread actually, sorry, head like a hormonal sieve over here.

2mumlife · 28/05/2021 07:41

@Verbena87 Och you're totally fine! I know how the hormones mess with the head :)

Pingupp · 28/05/2021 11:17

Happy Friday all. Hope you are all ok.... lots going on with everyone.
Had my final lining scan and it's 7.5 so I can start lubion etc tomorrow.
Transfer happening on Weds.
Getting very excited now..... it's gonna be a long few weeks. Just pray it goes ok.

Tarsette · 28/05/2021 16:59

@Pingupp we’re on a similar timeline! I had my final scan today and my lining was 8mm (a small miracle for my lining!) so I get to trigger today and then transfer next Friday! I am a bit worried though as when they measured my blood today, my progesterone was 1.6 Ng/ml, whereas the upper limit is 1.5 (normally my clinic cancels the cycle if it goes beyond that threshold). They are allowing me to go ahead as I am so close to the threshold but I was warned it could harm the chances of implantation so I am now really worried about that...especially considering I have already had 4 unsuccessful transfers...

Pingupp · 28/05/2021 17:39

@Tarsette oh no wonder you are worried.
Is there anything the can do to lower it?
You put all the faith and trust in the clinics to create the miracles and sometimes they don't get it right... I am currently waiting for a call back from the clinic as one of my meds - utrogestan doesn't look right up me :-(
I will keep my fingers crossed that they can put your mind at ease. Xx

2mumlife · 29/05/2021 08:14

@Pingupp @Tarsette Great linings! Fingers crossed!

I had a weird pain last night on right side - not like a cramp, more just like a constant tension. Its gone this morning, but scan isn't until Thursday so hoping I don't have a cyst or anything.

Bluemeadowbaby · 30/05/2021 18:03

Hey ladies! Just checking in to see how you're all doing? I've been really trying to keep myself so busy to make time pass and not think about what's coming up 🙈 we had our weekend away last weekend and I was in my absolute element soaking myself in the hot tub at our lodge break! Haven't done that for the last 2 years and it was very welcomed!
Going to catch up on the thread now, wishing you all lots of luck and hoping you're having a lovely bank holiday weekend...how fabulous is this weather?! X
