Couldn't see a thread for May so I thought I'd start one!

Anyone else doing their cycle in May? I just got my calendar through and all the injections look extremely Not Fun (this is my first time doing it) 😕

@TheDutchess3I am pergerveris. Started day 2 of what was an extremely light period. I've done two rounds before exactly the same outcome as each other so we stuck with the same treatment plan (those have been frozen for baby 2) and this time we were gonna try a fresh transfer for baby 1.

I don't know why this has happened

Georgie87B · 24/05/2021 12:07

@Girlwholifts hi welcome!! Arr nice to hear from someone else with Bourn Hall 😊 I haven't really found Bourn Hall too bad. Are you NHS or privately funded? We had to go down the private route due to no NHS funding in our area. I'm not sure if this should make any difference though..
We had our initial fertility tests done in Feb this year and the 2 phone consultation appointments in Feb&March and then had our virology blood tests and started on meds (norethisterone) in April and stim injections in May and am now on my TWW. I have found that I didn't have much communication with them and you do need to call/email to chase certain things. Think throughout this process I have physically been into the clinic 6 times in total - fertility tests, virology bloods, 2x tracking scans, EC And ET.
I would give them a ring and see if anything is holding things up. Whenever I call them the nurses all see never helpful and understanding.
Ahh glad you also read that book and liked it! I have found that the best one by far I have read and now my mum and my in-laws have also read it! I found it so much easier than trying to explain everything to them😂
Really hope you are able to get started on your IVF journey very soon!! And am happy help with any other questions you have about anything 😊

TheDutchess3 · 24/05/2021 12:27

@Bells3032, and what was the outcome of those two rounds?
Are you in the privately funded treatment? Because I find it great you had the freedom to do the stimulation for the future first , I am thinking about the same but it has to be own funded.

Bells3032 · 24/05/2021 12:34

I am privately funded. my CCG only do one round and the queue is massive so we couldn't be bothered. My AMH is really low for my age and the medication helping my DH produce sperm is making his blood pressure high so we thought better to put them away now.

Previous rounds were
Round 1 6 mature retrieved, 5 fertilised, 5 blasts, 3 PGS normal
Round 2 5 Mature, 4 fertilised, 3 blasts, 2 PGS normal

Which for my AMH numbers were phenomenal. The non PGS normal ones were the day 6 blasts - all but one of the day 5 blasts were normal.

Where i was at each point was virtually identical. No idea what is going on with this month. I had a lot more follicles this month (11 compared to 6 previous cycles) so dont know of that makes a difference.

Girlwholifts · 24/05/2021 12:44

@Georgie87B Thanks you for replying Smile We too are private, joys of the postcode lottery!
I do find them really helpful but seems like I'm constantly chasing them. We were referred Sep 2019, DH had Micro-TESE, officially started our tests beginning of 2020, had lots of tests etc. Got delayed due to COVID and then I had all my Virology tests done in February and signed all the paperwork.
I had a feeling I had been missed off the communications list so chased and had them say they were awaiting for me to book my Virology Hmm I explained I had completed everything already and was now a little concerned that I had basically been forgotten. They said ok next step let us know on your day 1 bleed which had just been, now I'm waiting for the medication apparently?! I don't even have a treatment schedule yet? Yeh, we've also been maybe 6/7 times such a beautiful place and lucky to be on our doorstep. Has your partner been allowed in with you?
I hope your TWW is flying by and you've been kind to yourself Flowers

strawberrysummer19 · 24/05/2021 13:07

Final scan done and the ONE decent follie that was seen on Thursday has now changed to FOUR so I'm happy with that!

2-3 may even make it they said

So EC can go ahead and it's this Wednesday!!

Triggering tonight at 2am 😆

I'm so happy I've even got to this stage x

notyetamumbuttrying · 24/05/2021 13:09

@strawberrysummer19 👏🏾 so happy for you!! 😃

Georgie87B · 24/05/2021 13:10

@Girlwholifts oh blimey that is a long wait! And bad they didn't have record xof your virology tests... But by the sounds of it you are nearly there! I had to also let them know on the first day of my period and then from there they arranged my schedule and sent it to me which consisted of around 2 weeks of norethisterone tablets mid way through my cycle (kind of like the pill as you have a 5 day break for a bleed) then after the 5 days you start your stims injections with 2 tracking scans in between. So don't worry too much as soon as you let them know your day 1 you should start getting everything you will need. 👍 When I had my tracking scans my other half wasn't allowed in with me but was told that the week I had my transfer they had just started allowing partners in again for transfer and pregnancy scans. But not sure on the tracking scans and egg collection...
I would just say keep an eye on your junk emails as I got an email regarding my meds delivery as its from another company (fertility2u) 😊🚚

Georgie87B · 24/05/2021 13:12

@strawberrysummer19 ahh that's great news!! Well done!! 🎉
Ooo nice wake up call at 2am for trigger! 😴
Wishing you the best of luck for Wednesday!! Xxx

VenusStarr · 24/05/2021 13:18

Yay @strawberrysummer19 🥳 although the 2am trigger 🤪 so exciting! X

strawberrysummer19 · 24/05/2021 13:20

@VenusStarr I know I won't be able to sleep!!
Although the EC time offered was 8am or 2pm and as we are 2 hours away from the clinic I thought 2pm would be nice and no risk of not sleeping and being late !

How's the 2ww going? X

VenusStarr · 24/05/2021 13:31

@strawberrysummer19 I bet! So pleased you're nearly there. We had to get to the clinic 45 minutes before, so better to go later in the day, although you'll be starving!

Tww is good, still feeling quite relaxed and content. Had some weird bubbling sensations last night but nothing else really. Had my progesterone checked today, so waiting to hear back, although I do feel like the utrogestan is working as my boobs are heavy. When I've been on cyclogest on natural cycles, I've not had that. X

strawberrysummer19 · 24/05/2021 13:34

@VenusStarr they said to arrive an hour before so we can take little one to school for 9 then make our way! With no stress of being late.

Glad to hear you are feeling good
When is your otd ? Will you wait? X

Hoping4baby21 · 24/05/2021 13:36

@strawberrysummer19 congrats on making it to trigger although I imagine a 2am trigger will be a little rough. Best of luck with egg collection!

Had my day 8 scan today and remember to ask for the the follicle sizes. I think I have quite a spread of sizes and not sure what will catch up. At first she seemed to be suggesting we trigger a little soon but then after she seemed to want to see if some of the smaller ones would catch up. Waiting on a call to confirm today. What does everyone think? The 17 one must be ready to go she did make a comment on not sure how much longer we can wait! Argh so confusing.

2 x less than 6
2 x 6
2 x 7
1 x 8
4 x 9
1 x 11
1 x 15
4 x16
2 x 17

Girlwholifts · 24/05/2021 13:47

@Georgie87B Yeh tell me about it. I have a habit of being the one who's slipped between the cracks haha!

Thanks for all the info, that's really helpful. We are just waiting to hear from them and then we can go from there. Once we have our plan it will all become a little more real and I'm hoping will put my mind at rest.

How far into your TWW are you? Are you finding it ok so far?

Georgie87B · 24/05/2021 13:59

@Girlwholifts Yea I found it all start to feel real once I had my schedule and meds arriving. All a bit daunting to begin with but it really isn't that bad in reality! 👍
I am currently 6dp5dt. So just over halfway now until OTD! I am actually feeling really good and content with being in my PUPO bubble at the moment. The progesterone is giving me really sore boobs and am VERY tired but think that is very normal. Other than that not really any signs if it's worked or not.. So not sure if I'm looking forward to test date or not as ignorance is bliss 😂 but Friday will be here before I know it I'm sure 😊

Georgie87B · 24/05/2021 14:16

@Hoping4baby21 oo looks like your follicles are getting nice and big. And they will only keep getting bigger so sure the ones under 10mm will also catch up a bit before your collection date! 🤞
Hope you get good news on your call later and have a clear plan going forward 😊📞

notyetamumbuttrying · 24/05/2021 14:30

We're close to the end of the thread! Do you think the OP will set a new one up or does someone else want to and post the link before we reach 1k?

VenusStarr · 24/05/2021 14:30

Yes, I'm going to wait @strawberrysummer19 I'm liking this bubble :)
Ah, your morning sounds nice, hopefully a smooth day for you 🤞

Some good follicles @Hoping4baby21 when I had my collection, I think my 2 big ones were edging on 23mm (triggered when they were 21mm I think). But I was worried they'd go too far, but timing was perfect. 🤞 For you

Hope your tww is going OK @Georgie87B can't believe it'd is Friday! I'm the same as you, enjoying this bubble and don't want it to end.

Anyone on utrogestan - do you find when you do it, you get a bit crampy? Just for about half an hour after. X

strawberrysummer19 · 24/05/2021 15:08

@Hoping4baby21 that's lovely numbers !

@VenusStarr ah yes I bet, I can't wait to get to that stage. I think I'm on those but been told to start them Wednesday eve

Little one has been booked in with mother n law to be to be collected after school Wednesday so I'm so excited for EC now

Oh yes it would be so lovely to keep this thread going! X

Georgie87B · 24/05/2021 15:18

@VenusStarr ahh so glad I'm not the only one feeling this was as I thought I was strange not looking forward to test day 😂 it's all gone so quickly since starting injections I don't know where the time has gone! I am feeling good thank you just tiredness and sore boobs. Haven't had any implantation spotting and trying not to over think that at the moment, as know not everyone gets it. When is your OTD again?? Hope your feeling OK 😊 xx

2mumlife · 24/05/2021 15:24

@notyetamumbuttrying Hopefully you get more information on Wednesday - with IVF cycle they should be controlling everything (theoretically) so cycle length and everything might be quite different.

@Bells3032 Sorry you've had such a frustrating cycle! Could it be a consequence of doing back-to-back ECs?

@TheDutchess3 I had AMH and HyCoSy before starting. I've had baseline bloods before first IUI cycle, then HIV/HepA/HepB bloods before starting IVF and blood monitoring during IUI and IVF cycles (they take my blood every time I go for a follicule check)

@strawberrysummer19 Glad you're feeling positive. 2AM TRIGGER THOUGH!? Shock

Just phoned my clinic for the second time today as phoned first thing and still haven't had a call back from nurse confriming if we're good to go to start drugs tomorrow! My clinic has got quite bad recently on the communciation front, I suspect they've just taken on too many patients at the moment, its frustrating though!

Hoping4baby21 · 24/05/2021 15:27

Thanks @strawberrysummer19 @Georgie87B and @VenusStarr, it is reassuring to know your numbers Venus because I was worried they might go too far but based on what you said I think it will be fine. Let's hope a few of those slow growers catch up in the next few days!!

I'm starting to feel how I get each month around ovulation so I'm definitely close, can't believe how quick this has actually gone. I am getting fed up of being stuck with a needle now though.

I'll be on utrogestan but of course won't be starting them for a few days now.

Bells3032 · 24/05/2021 15:32

@2mumlife haven't done back to back cycles. first one was Jan, second one was March and then this one. so every other month. they warned me against back to back cycles. now worried it's gonna be cancelled and i'll have to wait two months and be cycling over both our birthdays including the non-refundable weekend away we had planned that's been booked for over the year:(
