Couldn't see a thread for May so I thought I'd start one!

Anyone else doing their cycle in May? I just got my calendar through and all the injections look extremely Not Fun (this is my first time doing it) 😕

@2mumlife I have the opposite issue to you. Mine are too short! Average 24 day cycles with my shortest being 21 and my longest 26. I'm glad she feels on her way though! That pub grub sounds delicious btw!! 🤤

Flissa7 · 20/05/2021 14:22

@strawberrysummer19 Honestly lovely, 12 days isn’t too long (not when most stim for 10 anyway!) and still lots of time for growth 🤞🏻. And everyone is right about quality over quantity - I only had 4 eggs collected, 3 were mature & fertilised and our hatching day 5 blastocyst was popped in yesterday with one in the freezer. So hard not to see double figures & panic, but you & your body are doing your best ♥️ Xx

strawberrysummer19 · 20/05/2021 14:34

@Flissa7 that's so true and I would be so happy with those numbers ! That's so exciting! So exciting for you.
I guess because my DR kept saying he was disappointed that one only was looking like a good size but then I guess they have to be realistic too.
I would be more than happy going for a few days longer if they make it. I just need to relax xx

Bells3032 · 20/05/2021 14:40

@strawberrysummer19 yours aren't too dissimilar to mine. I also stimmed for 12 days

From that round we got 5 mature eggs, 4 fertilised, 3 blasts, two passed pgs and are safely put away for baby 2 in the future

And that's with severe male factor as well

strawberrysummer19 · 20/05/2021 15:05

@Bells3032 your chart looks good, mine are just still quite low so hopefully they will catch up over the next few days all being well x

2mumlife · 20/05/2021 15:22

@strawberrysummer19 Also I should say I'm sorry as I'm not at all suggesting you might get low egg numbers! Just not to worry about it :)

Tarsette · 20/05/2021 15:29

@strawberrysummer19 agree with everything that has been said. Mine were slow to grow initially as well and I remember the doctor saying as long as they keep growing at each scan, all is well (sometimes they stop growing and that’s when you have a problem!). And yes, quality over quantity. I got 25 and now only have one to transfer. Good lining is also a major plus. I can only dream of being told mine looks good. I struggle each cycle to get It up to 8mm with loads of stims...

Speaking of which I have a scan tomorrow on day 5 to check my lining. I’m terrified it won’t have grown and my cycle will be cancelled, as this has happened before...

2mumlife · 20/05/2021 15:30

@notyetamumbuttrying That's interesting about your cycle length being on the opposite end of the scale to me! Do you normally get to the end of a full TWW or does AF come early for you? My latest worry that's creapt back up on me is that every time we do a IUI/IVF cycle my cycle becomes a lot shorter, and I never make it to the end of the 2WW / OTD so I've started worrying about the medicated cycles somehow causing me to have a short luteal phase. Its the thing that scares me most going into this FET cycle, as AF came 4dp5dt last time, and I just felt like it just wasn't right there wasn't even a chance for it to implant at all (my consultant said there was, but I honest I still just don't believe that and I still don't have an answer). The only thing that keeps me half sane is knowing this is a totally different protocol and I've got Lubion injections. It feels I'm only every going to get to the end of a TWW if I'm actually pregnant!

2mumlife · 20/05/2021 15:32

@Tarsette Good luck for lining scan tomorrow!

strawberrysummer19 · 20/05/2021 15:49

@Tarsette that's so interesting at 25 eggs there's one to transfer. Thank you for sharing.

And yes mine are growing just so slow ! So all I can do is take care myself this weekend and hope they have a growth spurt!!

Ah ok so a good lining is a definite positive
He kept saying how brilliant it was ! And seemed chuffed and I was like but my follies aren't growing ?! But yes i should be positive for what I do have.

Thank you ladies I shall certainly Monday xx

strawberrysummer19 · 20/05/2021 15:55

@Tarsette good luck for your scan tomorrow x

Of course not, I know what you mean x

notyetamumbuttrying · 20/05/2021 16:11

@2mumlife yeah my luteal phase is fine. I just ov early so cd11 ok average. Sometimes 10 sometimes 12.
It's good they've switched up your meds! Here's hoping that's all that's needed! 🤞🏾
@Tarsette best of luck for tomorrow, try and keep the faith! 🤞🏾

notyetamumbuttrying · 20/05/2021 16:12

On*

Tarsette · 20/05/2021 16:55

Thanks ladies for your wishes!

@2mumlife forgot to say earlier: my de says to wait at least 3 weeks after having Covid vaccine before starting a cycle (IVF or FET) as it does seem to interfere in some ways with the cycle. My last period was 6 days late (1 week after my 2nd dose of vaccine) which normally never happens and when I told my dr she said «ah yes we’ve been seeing this a lot with vaccinated patients»

Bells3032 · 20/05/2021 17:17

hurrah! just got the call from the clinic and i can start my stims tonight!!! yay!!!

Plus my DH's work called and they can get cover for him the week we have booked off. I am so so happy! so fingers crossed our holiday is still on (even if we will have to drive 4 hours straight after the transfer haha)

strawberrysummer19 · 20/05/2021 18:21

@Bells3032 yay that's brilliant! So happy for you x

Hoping4baby21 · 20/05/2021 18:41

@Bells3032 yay! So happy for you, and you get to do your holiday. I've got a short holiday booked aswell and I'm really looking forward to it, has a real fireplace (London born and bred so not the norm for me used to sirens and traffic lol) and I'm looking forward to just being cosy and chilling taking in the scenery.

@strawberrysummer19 I haven't been through it so no advice but I think the ladies have given excellent words of wisdom so far. I think focusing on the positives is a great move and you never know what will happen in the new few days!

@Tarsette good luck with your lining scan tomorrow 🤞🏽

strawberrysummer19 · 20/05/2021 19:13

@Hoping4baby21 yes I agree, I feel more positive now and taken everything on board what everyone has said.

Oh wow it sounds lovely! What a lovely treat. I'm very jealous. X

Georgie87B · 20/05/2021 19:44

@Bells3032 ahh that's great news you get to start stims tonight!! And all your plans are coming together!! 🎉🎉

RazzleDazz1e · 20/05/2021 22:09

@Bells3032 fantastic news!

I also started my stims this evening... gulp! I am a little worried about the vaccination now though. I had a text from the NHS so booked first jab for Monday, after calling the IVF clinic. They said timing should be fine, but I’m now worried about having a raised temperature at my day 7 and day 9 scans next week....! Thinking now that I should cancel- help!

Coops0406 · 21/05/2021 06:15

@Bells3032 fantastic news!!! 😍

strawberrysummer19 · 21/05/2021 07:44

@@RazzleDazz1 hmm it's a tricky one
I had my vaccine before my cycle but had some time before and I didn't have a temp in the end.
I would say go with your gut, as I'm not sure anyone can say exactly what to do

For me, I would have more anxiety knowing I wasn't vaccinated and spending 9m pregnant feeling like I'll still be in some form of isolation until feb as I certainly wouldn't wanna risk catching Covid whilst pregnant
I have a few things on this year that I really want to do, a holiday of some sort, a concert, and a big family wedding and I know I wouldn't have wanted to go unvaccinated and pregnant
So I would go with the risk of getting a temp and potentially having cycle cancelled to go again the month after rather than risking the above, but again that's just me so you need to do what you feel is right.

Last month we were delayed a month due to my daughter catching chicken pox 2 days before stims and they wouldn't let me start
I was so gutted
But here I am a month later and now started and feel like things happen for a reason

Even this cycle isn't 100 going to happen because my follies are still trying to grow so there's talk this one won't go ahead so I would have hated to put the vaccine off to have then had to wait anyway!

I asked on here shall I take a new job just as it ready to start IVF thinking am I mad ? and someone told me please don't put your life on hold for ivf - so I've kind of and try to live by that

I don't think you're be wrong or right in either decision but maybe have a think of pros and cons and see what others say

X

strawberrysummer19 · 21/05/2021 08:09

Menopur

For anyone who's on it / been on it or any stims for that matter

I sometimes feel a bit tender but other than that like this morning I don't really feel anything?
I think because my follies are on the smaller side I'm now wondering if they aren't growing as surely 9 days of stims I would have thought I would be feeling symptoms ?
