Our other thread is now full so thought I would start this one to continue the chat.

@Beaglemum91 I'm waiting for my period so I can start meds for FET so that is really helpful information about the embryo transfer process. Thank you. Did you have your partner on Facetime or anything for it?

@Icsi2021 so excited for you xxx

@kittyfantastico21 aww Thankyou! Hope all is going well with you 💓

Clapham4 · 15/06/2021 10:18

Hi guys, I’ve my consultants call on Thursday and just got an email to say it’ll be Zoom call (I thought they would just ring) Do they send the Zoom details on the day or how did you access the call details? I can’t see any in the email x

Hopeful1234567 · 15/06/2021 10:41

@Clapham4 That is exciting! It should come through via email soon xx

kittyfantastico21 · 15/06/2021 10:43

@Clapham4 that's odd - I got an email with a Zoom link when I booked previous consultations, though I've just noticed I actually haven't got a Zoom link either for my FET consultation next week. As your appointment is only a couple of days away I would give them a call and let them know you haven't got a link yet.

Clapham4 · 15/06/2021 12:29

Great thanks guys! I might give it until later this afternoon and see if a link arrives and if not I’ll get on their case 😂 x

lawandgin · 15/06/2021 14:57

@Clapham4 when I booked my appointments I got the confirmation email and zoom link at the same time. Let us know how you get on! 😊

Hanopolis · 15/06/2021 18:13

Hi everyone! I have my baseline scan tomorrow and initial consultation next Tuesday - I've been following the thread and seen there's a few people at the same point now so thought I'd get involved. Feeling a little bit nervous about taking that first step!
@Clapham4 I also got my Zoom link when I booked the appointment, at the same time as the email confirmation so I'd definitely chase it up if you haven't had it

Clapham4 · 15/06/2021 19:07

I searched my emails and found it! They sent it when I initially booked 🤦🏻‍♀️ Thanks all for your help xx

@Hanopolis best of luck tomorrow! You’re very similar timescale to me I think, scan last week and consultant this week. I only had 12 follicles in the scan which is their minimum allowance so have had to do follow up bloods so I’ve everything crossed I pass their criteria! Have you been trying long lovely? X

lawandgin · 15/06/2021 22:23

Hi Hanopolis 👋 hope it all goes well tomorrow! Which clinic will you be at?

Hanopolis · 15/06/2021 22:58

@Clapham4 glad you found it! Thank you - we've been trying for 18 months so not the longest but we're ready to move on. It's unexplained for us although two of my husbands SAs had low motility and morphology (the third was the lowest numbers considered normal for those two parameters) so I think it's a mix for us - they've said it can happen with those results but can take years. So we may need ICSI but not sure, we'll go on the clinics recommendation. How about you? Fingers crossed your blood test comes back okay and you'll be accepted at ABC 🤞🏼

@lawandgin thank you! I'm at the Manchester clinic. How about you? Is your appointment on 22nd your baseline scan?

I saw you were discussing whether to stop alcohol and I'm similar tbh, I'm going to continue to enjoy my few glasses of wine on a weekend or at events but in moderation, and just be more aware of my diet, carry on taking supplements etc. I also drink decaf and then just have one normal cup of tea a day. When I actually start my IVF cycle I'll cut out alcohol completely. If I tried to do it now it would probably cause more harm than good! My job is a bit stressful too so I'm hoping I could do the cycle in August when it's usually quieter as everyone's on holiday!

lawandgin · 15/06/2021 23:28

@Hanopolis I'll be at the Wimbledon clinic. Yes appointment on 22nd is baseline scan, zoom follow up with nurse is on the 23rd. Getting excited now, but also a bit nervous! Totally agree about the booze, I think it would stress me out too much 🤣 but I will also stop completely before the cycle starts. You make a good point about August being quieter at work, although I've traditionally always been quite busy in August as lots of my colleagues are off because they have kids and need childcare for the holidays. We have a short break booked for my Dad's 60th for the end of September so August would work well in that I think I would have enough time to recover if I did get OHSS. All depends on my cycles playing ball I guess. Currently on CD21 with no hint of a positive OPK, which is super annoying as I've ovulated on days 17 and 20 the last two cycles! Over a year off the pill and I'm still all over the place...

unCliche · 16/06/2021 09:13

Really excited to see other ladies at the start of their journey! I'm currently on CD3 and hoping to start injections with my next cycle due 9th July. I'm having my TSH blood test done with abc this Friday. Luckily smear and Rubella came back fine and I've sent those results off so there's nothing left for me to submit to them! So fingers crossed I can get a treatment consultation in before my next cycle starts! I was pretty apprehensive after my initial consultation but now I'm really looking forward to it! I'm also expecting a freeze all cycle due to my AMH so it may be an August transfer for me, so hopefully some of you will be around the transfer stage then!

@Hanopolis we also haven't been trying long. We're in our 9th month but did fertility tests pretty early on in our journey and we have MFI. We've been recommended ICSI due to DH's count (10.5m/ml) so if you also have MFI, then it's likely you'll need ICSI too. Good luck with your scan today! If all goes well, you'll be told straight away if you're a suitable candidate! Let us know how you get on!

@Hopeful1234567 I have my fingers tightly crossed for you!! All the best with your TWW! 💕

kittyfantastico21 · 16/06/2021 09:29

@Hanopolis welcome and I hope your scan today goes well! It's definitely daunting getting started but once you're in the process it's a bit easier to just take it step by step, I found.

@unCliche so glad you're feeling better about things now!

Hope you're all having a good week so far!

Clapham4 · 16/06/2021 13:39

@unCliche oh we’re cycle twins! Currently on CD 3 here, next AF due 10th July 😬 if you’re only outstanding the TSH then you’ll surely be on the next cycle 🤞🏼

@Hanopolis I think 18months is enough TTC too 😂 we’re only on 14months but my husband works away quite a bit and that will be resuming again from Sept so we just don’t have time in our side really. I’m only just 33, but I can foresee the FW and his work clashing so we’ll get nowhere fast!

Really hoping this is the thread for us all!

I found it a bit emotional going to the clinic for my baseline, did any one else?? I suppose because it made it all real, that after over a year of seriously trying nothing has happened. A bit silly, but I was glad to be able to hide my sad face under my face mask!!!🙈

unCliche · 16/06/2021 14:21

@Clapham4 Yay! Cycle twins! I really really hope you meet the criteria! I'm sure they'll take into consideration your previous scan results but if you had 19 follicles back then, then I'm sure your AMH will be a good number so I wouldn't worry about it. Good luck for tomorrow! It will be nice to start this journey with someone so if you've already submitted all test results you can probably book in your treatment consultation straight away and start around the same time as me!! 💃

Awww! It's definitely normal to feel emotional. For me, it was the initial consultation that had me all shaken up. That made it feel so real and I was on the verge of backing out! But then CD1 came along and that spurred me to be brave and carry on. So don't worry! We've got this!!!

Do you ladies have support in real life? I've told some friends but no family, except my mum, who I told today. I was surprised at how chill she was, I thought she'd go into super-worry mode but all she said was that they should transfer as many embryos as possible 😂😂😂

kittyfantastico21 · 16/06/2021 16:49

@unCliche I've told a few close friends but no family as I know they'd get really excited and be constantly wondering if it had worked (and even if they didn't say anything, I'd know they were wondering and feel pressure). I wasn't going to tell anyone at all but actually it was nice to talk to my friends and have their support so I'm glad I did.

@Clapham4 taking the first step and having an initial scan is a big moment, so I think it's normal to feel all sorts of emotions about it!

Clapham4 · 16/06/2021 17:20

I’ve told a few close friends too, I wasn’t planning on it but I got very drunk at a bbq last month and it all kind of came out. A lot of my friends don’t have kids yet so I didn’t expect them to really get it but they’ve been so good! I also have told my mom who also has surprised me with her optimism 😂 I expected her to tell me I was being dramatic. She’s old Irish stock!

I suppose it’s not a huge surprise to people if you’ve been with your partner a while and have expressed an interested in having a baby, people kind of suspect there must be an issue if it’s not happened yet.

@unCliche yay at being IVF twins! How are you feeling about the needle/injection part??

Just had some of my bloods back all fine and within normal range, the main one AMH still isn’t back in yet though. I was hoping to have it ahead of tomorrow’s call with ABC.

Becky105 · 16/06/2021 20:27

Hey guys I'm still reading along in the background and sharing all your hopes for your journeys. My journey got put on hold because my TSH level was too high so I've had to start thyroxine. It meant I needed to delay my treatment consultation but I'm rebooked for the 28th June. We're also using donor sperm so that has been a bit of a hurdle for me as I found it a bit overwhelming to look through profiles. I'm feeling a bit impatient to get started but still have some ducks to get in a row before we can crack on.

Hoping4baby21 · 16/06/2021 20:30

Hope everyone is doing ok? Nice to see some new faces around here aswell.

I'm feeling better than immediately after the news it hadn't work but still have moments. We all deserve medals and god knows what else for going on this journey.

We aren't sure what our next step will be and I need to schedule my follow up call still. Likely going to have the HSG and Lap on the NHS which is booked in for July to be absolutely certain nothing is going on in there that is an issue before we try again. Not excited for the invasive procedures but I think I'll regret it if I don't do it to be sure.

Hanopolis · 16/06/2021 21:47

So the scan went well - I had 21 follicles in total but a bit confused as I had 15 on my left and 6 on my right but in two previous scans I've had 11 on my left and 13 on my right! She did say I'd ovulated from my right though so it was probably hiding some. They've said I'll be a suitable candidate so just waiting for the initial consultation on Tuesday now. Did your partners attend your virtual initial consultation with you? We're probably going to start on my August cycle as we're away for a week in July, gives us plenty of time to get the treatment consultation booked.

@lawandgin Oh that's frustrating! I'm the opposite this month I got my positive OPK yesterday on day 11 and when I went to scan today I'd already ovulated so it was pretty early this month, I'm usually around day 13/14.

@Clapham4 I did find it a bit emotional. When I was leaving she said the next time I see you will be your treatment scans which I found a bit scary! Good luck for your call tomorrow.

@unCliche We've each told our closest friends (just a few) and then my husbands parents and my sister. If we're successful then I will tell my friends and family etc, I just don't want the pressure beforehand.

@Becky105 Welcome! That does sound overwhelming but that's positive that you're getting your TSH levels down and you've rebooked your treatment consultation. Are you hoping to start on your next cycle or do you have to wait to have your TSH retested?

@Hoping4baby21 It's nice to hear from you again and glad to hear you're feeling a bit better and planning the next steps. Do you have suspected endo? Did you have a follow up with ABC?

Hopeful1234567 · 16/06/2021 21:56

@unCliche Thankyou so much! 💓 Excited for your journey. 🥰
@Hoping4baby21 I am so sorry about your news. I can’t imagine how you must be feeling. My TTW is almost up and I’m not really managing my emotions very well. I do echo what you say that anyone in this journey deserves a medal. I think you’re completely doing the right thing by making sure for definite there isn’t anything going on you’re not aware of.

Hoping4baby21 · 16/06/2021 22:16

@Hanopolis no suspected endo but they keep saying the only thing might be blocked tubes and HSG and lap are best way to check it. And also needed before NHS IVF so it's part of their process.

I haven't had my review yet they said to call once my bleed stops so I will call them tomorrow and set that up. Not sure what to expect from that and what they can say but we shall see.

@Hopeful1234567 ahhh I know what you mean honestly the TWW was the hardest bit for me emotionally too. You will get through it just give yourself some grace this is tough and everything you feel is valid! Wishing you the best of luck and the best news on OTD.

Hopeful1234567 · 16/06/2021 22:25

Thankyou that means a lot. Totally agree there, it’s just hard to be excited! I went back to work today and probably the best thing I did because I wasn’t looking on Google ridiculous amount of times a day! Thankyou. Really hoping things work out for you xx

kittyfantastico21 · 17/06/2021 09:16

@Clapham4 hope your consultation call goes well today! Good news that your bloods came back normal and hopefully the AMH will come back with good news soon too.

@Becky105 sorry to hear your treatment has been delayed. Hopefully your TSH level will come down quickly and you can get started soon. I hear you on the donor sperm - I think I found that part of the process more stressful than the injections!

@Hoping4baby21 i'm really glad to hear you're feeling a bit better, and it's great that you have a plan. Hopefully that will give you some answers and as you move forward with it you'll start to feel even better and more hopeful again.

@Hanopolis great news from your scan! Yes, my partner attended the initial consultation - the clinic said she had to.

@Hopeful1234567 glad work is helping to distract you from the TWW. Not too long to go now so hopefully the last few days will fly by for you!

Time really feels like it's dragging for me in the wait for my next period. I probably won't be having ET until end of July which feels like YEARS away at the moment.

Hanopolis · 17/06/2021 13:49

@kittyfantastico21 I'm glad you said that as I was on the ABC/Create Facebook group and someone had asked the question on there then loads of people had responded saying their partners weren't on the call. I'd purposely planned our call for when my husband was around thinking he would need to be on it so was starting to think I might be going overboard 😂!
