Our other thread is now full so thought I would start this one to continue the chat.

@Beaglemum91 I'm waiting for my period so I can start meds for FET so that is really helpful information about the embryo transfer process. Thank you. Did you have your partner on Facetime or anything for it?

@Icsi2021 so excited for you xxx

Thank you @StarryHannah

Beaglemum91 · 28/03/2021 12:17

Great!
@StarryHannah I didnt, he waited in the waiting room for me though so he was kind of there. I'm not sure when they will start lifting restrictions on partners being there. Maybe ask them if he can be on facetime as I'm sure they wouldn't mind!

StarryHannah · 28/03/2021 12:34

@Beaglemum91 would you say it feels worth doing the facetime thing or even recording it? My nurse mentioned facetime to my partner see so he sort of has it in his head? I'm worried it'll feel weird or awkward. What do you think? Xxx

Beaglemum91 · 28/03/2021 12:46

@StarryHannah it may be a little weird as you have your legs up and a Dr, nurse and embryologist around you. You don't see that much in my opinion, just an ultrasound and a flash as it's released. They gave me a picture. Might be easier to record it than have facetime trying to focus on him and what's going on.

StarryHannah · 28/03/2021 12:50

@Beaglemum91 that sounds like a good plan! Oohh so we get a pic too? My friend had one in another clinic. That'll be nice to show him after Smile thank you xxx

Thank you @StarryHannah Smile

Have you started your meds now @Icsi2021?
I thought I'd add you to the group again @Hopeful1234567 as you and icsi are so close together with your treatments.

What dose of bemfola are you both starting on?

I have my treatment consultation booked in for the 24th of this month finally! So I'll be starting my meds hopefully the 30th Grin I'm so excited! Do any of you ladies understand this semen analysis? Does it just mean low count? Thanks in advance!

Kim xx

Beaglemum91 · 31/03/2021 17:38

@KimChinn21 it looks like his count is low and morphology is low but motility seems fine. They may want you to have ICSI due to the low morphology and count but depend if they think the motility makes up for that with IVF. Basically the yellow is his results and the white shows what it should be based on guidelines. Do you mean your treatment consultation is 24th April? If so you may be cutting it very close to start on the 30th, fingers crossed for you though!

KimChinn21 · 31/03/2021 18:14

Hi @Beaglemum91 thank you! Yeah I just couldnt understand it from his one hes had previous at a different clinic it's better wich I'm surprised at but yes I'd prefer to do icsi anyway and it is very low isnt it. I know I said that to the nurse today but she said it should be ok to get to me or I could call into the clinic for the meds. I wouldn't want to wait another month again but there just struggling to get people booked in by the seems of it.. I'll drive there if I have to it's only 40 minutes away so not too bad Smile

Icsi2021 · 31/03/2021 19:48

Hi @Icsi2021 thanks for that I cant really see it that well.. I'm with abc manchester. Oh hopefully you wont be waiting to long to start wel be a couple of weeks apart by the sounds of it Smile

Have you done ivf before or is this your first time? I think I'll be on 150 from what she said last time but I'll only know for sure at my treatment consultation.

Xx

Becky105 · 31/03/2021 22:25

Hi, I had my initial consultation yesterday and I wondered if any of you knew the answers to a couple of questions that I have. Do your clinics advise that your baseline scan is only valid for 3 months and you must start treatment within that 3 month period? Also the person I spoke to said that we could only have 3 attempts with abc ivf. I wasn't sure what she meant so I asked but she confused me more by saying things like you're only 32 and will meet our criteria age for a long time and if you have embryos left with then obviously you can use them... So now I don't know where the 3 attempts come into it at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Icsi2021 · 31/03/2021 23:02

@KimChinn21 this is our 1st IVF cycle, we have everything ready now after a stressful few weeks, 1st sample was unusable & now we have 1 frozen and another being frozen Tuesday, is this your 1st time? Xx

Beaglemum91 · 01/04/2021 11:13

@Becky105 I'm pretty sure we were told all tests had to be within 3 months of starting treatment as things can change. We've not been told about how many rounds we can have but I imagine they are talking about fresh rounds, not necessarily frozen transfers from them. It would be good to go back to your clinic and confirm.

Bean99 · 03/04/2021 11:18

Hi, has anyone here got a physical disability and had treatment with ABC? I'm a wheelchair user and have had my baseline scan and my consultation is on 14/04. They've requested that I try to get a letter saying that it won't affect IVF but that's proving really difficult as it's a non-hereditary hip problem and I don't see specialists because of still being on the waiting list due to COVID. I don't really know where to go and I'm scared it's going to push treatmemt back 🙃 Has anyone else had a problem like this?

Thanks!

HopingForRainbow2021 · 05/04/2021 18:56

Hi, I am just coming back. I disappeared from the other thread just over half way through my first IVF cycle as I was struggling a bit. The cycle failed, which was of course devastating. I just thought I would say hello again and see how it goes this time. I have been put on 10 days of provera from day 21 of my current cycle. I have 2 days left to go and then will be waiting for AF to begin, and will be starting second round of IVF. Really hope this will be the time for us.x

StarryHannah · 05/04/2021 19:47

@HopingForRainbow2021 I'm so sorry to hear it didn't work out first time around for you. Fingers crossed this time is your time xxx ❤

OP posts:
Beaglemum91 · 05/04/2021 20:28

@HopingForRainbow2021 so sorry to hear that. I'm waiting to start my second round in couple of weeks as well. Fingers crossed for round two for us both. Have they given you any changes this time round?

HopingForRainbow2021 · 05/04/2021 20:38

@StarryHannah I really hope so. I’m not sure where we would go from here.
@Beaglemum91 definitely fingers and toes and anything else crossed it will be second time lucky for us both. They have given me 10 days of provera which is new to me, but no other changes, other than we may do ICSI this time possibly. Have you got any changes?x

Beaglemum91 · 05/04/2021 20:47

@HopingForRainbow2021 nothing specifically for me, but my husband has some extra supplements he's been taking (hence having to wait a bit longer to go again so they can take effect) and he has to abstain for no more than a day before collection. Hopefully that help this time round!

HopingForRainbow2021 · 05/04/2021 20:50

@Beaglemum91 ah yes I remember now from the previous thread :) sorry - I’d lost track a little bit. Hopefully they will help. I’ve got to work on my positivity I think. It’s so hard though x

Beaglemum91 · 12/04/2021 15:35

How is everyone getting on? We're in our 2 week countdown go round 2, meds should be arriving early next week ready to start. I had some blood tests today as they wanted a repeat of the TSH thyroid blood test I did a month ago at the clinic. It showed it was a fraction higher than they would like and may put me on some medication to bring it down a little. Has anyone else had this?

HopingForRainbow2021 · 12/04/2021 21:11

@Beaglemum91 That's great news that you are all set to start again in a couple of weeks. I don't have any experience with the thyroid test, but it sounds good that they have taken steps to address even a slight change. I thought I would have started this cycle by now, but it turns out that provera delays your period starting. I finished taking it last weds, and no sign of it yet! I called today just to check if that's normal, and they said if it hasn't started by Weds they said to call them again. Fridge is once again full of meds ready to go.

Beaglemum91 · 12/04/2021 21:21

@HopingForRainbow2021 oh no always happens when you're ready to start a cycle! Hopefully it shows up soon!

Icsi2021 · 13/04/2021 07:05

I havnt started my meds yet either as my period is a no show yet 😂 im currently 2 weeks late today typical
