1st IVF mid April

Hi

Thought it would be nice to start a thread for anyone starting IVF next month

My period is due mid April

Just finishing off getting last few swabs and bloods done ✅

We've got a prescription so will be getting our drugs.

Then we are all set !

Anyone else ? For me it's my 1st cycle ivf
38yrs
Unexplained fertility with 1 previous child ( she's 9yrs)

Feeling excited to start this journey x

@Millie029 That sounds more positive then. That's some seriously good numbers. I'm starting to get really nervous now, so worried that I won't get anything to take from my 2/3 follicles. Nothing I can do though, just trying to stay calm.

@fuzzybump Thanks, that's what I'm hanging on to. They said there was only a 10% chance I'd make it to egg collection so we're doing well really.

How are you feeling about tomorrow?

@Kamiros - feeling really scared now for tomorrow. Been tired all day and now am over thinking waking up on time, praying I have eggs and that it doesn't hurt again! Wish I could have a glass of wine right now ha ha x

@fuzzybump Oh I feel exactly the same, can't relax at all. I've also found out that I'm scheduled for 12.30 so I have a 1am trigger tonight- that'll be fun.

I'm sure it will be OK, will be thinking of you.

@Kamiros - ita awful isn't it, I feel really bloated now after the trigger. Wow thats a late one, hopefully u will be able to get straight off to sleep after it x

@fuzzybump you're nearly there, wishing you so much luck for tomorrow.

I know, at least the positive is that I don't have to get up too early on Friday, we have a 90 min drive so I'm grateful for that.

Thank you!! the numbers were a huge shock. Because of the overstimulation, i had huge concerns that the eggs would be immature and wouldn't be any good to achieve anything. Still early days though, and we're very aware that there are no guarantees for Saturday.. Feeling incredibly lucky with recovery so far.

@Kamiros just echoing fuzzybumps message.. it really does only take 1. Everything crossed for you x

Hey everyone !!
How is everyone ??
Not been active a while as ended up in bloody hospital with ohss. Only in a couple of days they gave me anti sickness IV and blood thinners. I'm home now and feeling much better. It started 4-5 days after egg collection, I thought I'd be fine as felt back to normal the day after egg collection. But takes a while for the fluid to build up.
I had embryo transfer Monday, does this make me 3dp5dt or 4dp5dt?
Haven't had many symptoms apart from painful boobs! But thought I had that before from progesterone. Here's to hoping it works as it's our only chance !!
Unfortunately no embryos made it to freeze. But the one we did get is excellent quality so gives us a good chance. Areghh the waiting drives me mad!

@Kamiros - GL for tomorrow, sending positive vibes your way. I hope it all goes well for you!

I am a bit tired and achey after today, no idea how, but they managed to get 9 eggs so I think a few more popped up after the last injection have to wait for tomorrow morning to find out how they are (cause its ICSI).

@swirls3468 - sounds like you have been through the mill, really glad you got a transfer tho, I don't know on the dates but 🤞 for you. Yes the waiting is awful!

We had our consultation today and we can start as soon as my cycle starts which will hopefuly will be in the next week or 2.
We are thinking of putting 2 eggs back in has anyone els done this? I know the clinic advise against it and this will depend on what we get

@Babyvibes It's good to get moving isn't it. We've been advised that if we get 2 we should put them both back and that's probably what we'll be doing. Will let you know if we get that far.

Thanks for the good wishes for tomorrow, I'm much calmer about the process now but still worried that we just won't get anything.

Bit disappointed today, its only day 1 and I am down to 3 eggs already, 3 werent mature enough for ICSI and the other 3 perished from the needle. Just got to stay hopeful that at least 1 survives until transfer. 😕

@fuzzybump sorry to hear that, sounds very stressful but at least there are 3 for now. Fingers crossed all 3 keep going for you 🤞

@babyvibes I think we are on a similar timeline, I'm also waiting for my next cycle to start in the next week or 2. Medication arrived today, its a huge box which is rather intimidating! But also very very exciting!!

Thanks everyone. That's me out and just had my McDonald's. It went ok but we only got one egg. Everything crossed that it fertilises tonight.

@Babyvibes thank you - it really is a rollercoaster isn't it. I was put on provera on day 21 of my last cycle. I just started injections for this new cycle yesterday. My reply is a bit late so unlikely to be helpful (so sorry), but I think my meds came in about 3 days. Hopefully you have yours all ready now?

@Fuzzybump I am so very sorry for you loss. It is difficult, but I know how fortunate I am that he is still with me. Likewise, please do feel free to message me if you would like to talk.

I dont think I've ever been so eager for my period to start 😅 just want to get it all going. We should get a call on Monday about medication being delivered.
@fuzzybump as much as it feels disheartening you still have 3 which is fab and hopefuly one of them is the one 😀 have everything crossed for you.

No idea if this is average/ normal? (it seemes a big drop but the clinic said not all eggs were mature).
I m 41

That doesn't sound bad at all! I got 17 eggs, 15 mature and 7 fertilised. Ended up with one top quality blast! The others weren't good enough to freeze. Best of luck; remember it only takes one. I'm currently in tww ! Xx
