1st IVF mid April

Thought it would be nice to start a thread for anyone starting IVF next month

My period is due mid April

Just finishing off getting last few swabs and bloods done ✅

We've got a prescription so will be getting our drugs.

Then we are all set !

Anyone else ? For me it's my 1st cycle ivf
38yrs
Unexplained fertility with 1 previous child ( she's 9yrs)

Feeling excited to start this journey x

My cycle for Wednesday has been cancelled !!!!! To say I'm disappointed is an understatement

But I understand why...I'm going to get a blood test immunity for chicken pox just so I know for future.

I'm pencilled in for may so I'll return then or start a new thread if people are further down the line.

I will be back!!!! It's only 4 weeks I guess and another month to try naturally and get those supplements really in my system, especially DHEA! Xx

@Babyvibes - Had scan no ohss have right ovary has 7 very good follicles, left one isn't playing ball gave follies but not at right size. Have to go back tomorrow for another scan and looking at egg collection Thursday or Friday. I am happy with the 7 tho as I don't feel ill, just hope I get enough eggs out of them!

@fuzzybump my left one is the same 4 follicles but tiny and just not growing. I have 5 on the right- 3 good sizes and the other 2 unlikely to grow. Its not much but I'll take it. I'll also be going in Thursday or Friday.

@Fuzzybump that is fab news 😀 so happy for you. I think you have helped us make our decision and going to go for rekovelle. Best of luck with egg retrieval xxx

Hello everyone!
Just had my transfer ! Here's to hoping that little one gets cosy in there for the next 9 months.
We ended up having 1 good quality blastocyst. The other blasto wasn't great quality so they probably won't freeze it. They are keeping their eye on another two.
Only takes one to make a baby!
No gonna lie going from 15 mature eggs to one blasto is slightly disheartening. I'm living proof it's not about the numbers !!! Good luck everyone. Xxx

Hi, can I join you? I'll give my story in brief! I'm about to start my second cycle of IVF any day now. My first cycle was in Feb - had embryo transfer, but none good for freezing, and cycle failed, so starting from scratch. I'm 35, and having IVF due to my husband having leukemia (on life long meds that its not safe to conceive on). He had a short treatment break last year so we could ttc - we did, but I miscarried at 8 weeks, back in November. During the same break period he also had sperm frozen. He isn't allowed another treatment break for 3 years, so here we are. Would love to be able to share some of this next bit of the journey :)

Hi @opingforarainbow wow what a journey you are on. It's such a rollercoaster of emotions isn't it. But I wish you lots of luck in your next cycle. Are you taking menapure? We should start our treatment any time in the next 3 weeks. A question I have for you ladies is. How long from ordering the medication did it take for it to be delivered?

@HopingForRainbow2021 - welcome, I know how difficult it is trying with a poorly hubby. I am solo now after my hubby passed from cancer and have a small supply from him to use. Here if you need to chat xx My order was done at clinic and picked up on the same day x

@Babyvibes - they were ready today, even got a new one pop up on the left ovary which wasnt doing anything yesterday (they say it doesn't matter which side u inject but this one has only popped up since I switched to left side of belly).

Exciting news of your confirmation for EC!

Getting ok thank you.. egg collection went to plan yesterday and was a much better experience than i imagined.
Bit of a hiccup though as we got 23 eggs and I'm at high risk of OHSS. So the new plan is - we see if we get any embryos then doing a freeze all, and have a 2 month break to let my body rest. Having a blood test tomorrow to check my levels and whilst there should find out how our eggs are doing 🤞for some positive news x

@Millie029 That's a good number, fingers crossed for positive news. Hope you're feeling okay after it.

@fuzzybump Clinic have just called minutes ago and changed me to Friday, there are a couple of smaller ones they want to give a chance. It's good but I feel a little all over the place with the changes.

I'm very nervous but just so happy happy have made it this far that its also a bit exciting.

@Kamiros - ah! The waiting is so annoying isn't it sorry they have moved it but you might get a few extras x I am to, trying to contain the excitement of getting this far again but I had a twisted ovary last time after EC so am super scared of that happening 2, its a real mixed bag of emotions isnt it!

@fuzzybump yes it really is. I can see why that would make you nervous but it's good to be a bit excited also. Hoping it all goes well

I'm meant to be going for my baseline scan next Wednesday but still haven't had my period yet, did anyone else not have theirs at this stage? Wondering whether to call them Friday off it's not come still to see what they suggest e.g. upping buserelin or moving all my dates a bit 🧐

@starkid I had mine yesterday and I haven't bled yet so I'm having a repeat one on Monday and then I can start stims so I'm now delayed 6 days. Good news is I've started spotting this morn 🙌

Feeling good today, abdomen discomfort has reduced and bloating isn't too bad - managing to wear my jeans again 💪
Just been for a follow up blood test due to the OHSS and the response from the staff seemed positive, so I'm hoping it's a sign that OHSS might not hit me like they anticipated.
We had our first update from the embryologist. They actually got 25 eggs on Monday, 23 fertilised, 19 divided into 2, and today there are 12 grade 3 or above 😲
Back to waiting til Saturday to see if we get any blastocysts which are freezer worthy 🤞🤞
