1st IVF mid April

Thought it would be nice to start a thread for anyone starting IVF next month

My period is due mid April

Just finishing off getting last few swabs and bloods done ✅

We've got a prescription so will be getting our drugs.

Then we are all set !

Anyone else ? For me it's my 1st cycle ivf
38yrs
Unexplained fertility with 1 previous child ( she's 9yrs)

Feeling excited to start this journey x

Thanks everyone clinic is looking to do ET Tuesday now if all goes ok. Waiting for the morning call is awful!

Hi everyone! Just been reading, i'm on another threat also but if you don't mind me joining?
I have my EC on Tuesday and it's our first IVF cycle. I've seen a few have just had their ECs and ET. Hoping it all goes really well

How is everyone doing in the 2ww? I am struggling in the 5dw lol

@fuzzybump I'm good thanks, my one embryo is doing well so far, 8 cells and good quality. I feel very emotional and anxious waiting on each update so I've tried to keep busy today. They're calling me again tomorrow to discuss transfer for Wed as long as it keeps developing well.

@kamiros I think the waiting is tha hardest part it makes the nerves alot worse but its just something we hVe do to. Your doing amazing and I'm sure all will be good. I have everything crossed for you.

We got our phone call for meds to be delivered Wednesday 😁 how exciting its definitely starting to feel real now. I'm tired, agitated and bad head today so I thinking maybe signs of my cycle starting 🤔 well hoping.
I'm so excited for everyone its lovely to have you all to talk to and hear about your journeys ❤

@Kamiros - Have every crossed for u this week, it really is so difficult isn't it, I had a good cry yesterday think i just needed to let a bit out, part of me wishes I had done a 3 day transfer instead. X

@Babyvibes hi!! I feel really well! I just have a bit of pain on my right ovary when i do something like stand from the floor. But that is it.
We got 6 eggs out of the 7 follicles. Happy that at least most of them had an egg but disappointed with only 6 eggs after all the expectations we where given due to age and AMH etc.
Tomorrow afternoon we will the the call to see how many mature and fertilised. I'm scared, not going to lie

@CyclingMumKent how are your 7 little ones doing? Are you doing fresh transfer? Xx

I ll have a fresh transfer at 11am tomorrow
6 embryos still in the game.
I need to decide whether to transfer 1 or 2 tomorrow.
Being 41 and already a mother of 2 i d better not take any risks and transfer one...?
I m scared that a twin pregnancy might mean you risk to lose both babies.

Would you say it s better to transfer anything that is not good enough to freeze and keep the better ones in the freezer for a frozen transfer?
I will only know tomorrow how many are top quality or poor quality.

@CyclingMumKent i'm no expert for sure, but we are going for only one (i'm almost 33). Wouldn't be a problem for a twin pregnancy but all the risks just put me so off... and having two kids at once my husband thinks we wouldn't enjoy enough. So if it's nature let it be, but if not we won't go for it.
But at your age i'm not sure what drs recommend, 4 kids would be a very brave thing!! (Also 3 is really brave!)

Hi everyone. I just went for my baseline scan for my FET, but my period hasn't started yet (day 38). They had a look and my ovaries seem to still be feeling the effects of the previous IVF round and are still stimulated. So they've upped my Buserelin dose from 0.5 to 1ml so hopefully it doesn't take too long to take effect. It means obviously my transfer will now be delayed.
Also I had cysts on both ovaries, compared to none during my treatment last time so something for them to keep an eye on. Frustrating but not much that can be done except more Buserelin and wait!

@CyclingMumKent how did it go?? How many did you transfer in the end?

@starkid so sorry to hear this, the wait is awful! I find it worse than all the injections and scans and journeys to clinic... 🙈 hope you get your period soon and start the countdown.

I had the call from the clinic. Out of 6 eggs collected, all 6 were mature and 5 fertilised. So we have 5 in the game. I'm really happy and hope they keep up the fight 💪🏻

@Sungirl11 so kind of you to ask! I transferred only the best one (11) and froze the other 3
A 1 1 embryo
A 1 2 embryo
A 1 3 embryo
We have another one which will be frozen tomorrow (day 6) if it catches up tonight and another which is still a morula.

@starkid I was similar to you. Had my baseline last Tuesday and hadn't bled so was on buserelin an extra 6 days and didn't bleed till cd35. I had a repeat scan Monday and was allowed to start stims last night. I also have a cyst on my left ovary which they have said may grow on the stims
