1st IVF mid April

Hi

Thought it would be nice to start a thread for anyone starting IVF next month

My period is due mid April

Just finishing off getting last few swabs and bloods done ✅

We've got a prescription so will be getting our drugs.

Then we are all set !

Anyone else ? For me it's my 1st cycle ivf
38yrs
Unexplained fertility with 1 previous child ( she's 9yrs)

Feeling excited to start this journey x

Kamiros I have bloods 2 on the 29th, but am so tempted to buy some throw aways!

@fuzzybump I know its so difficult. I still have 2 tests in the house from before so I'm not convinced I won't cave.

@Kamiros - glad am not the only! I have been researching and its says the HCG shot is out of your system after 10 days and as we have had a 5dt , technically we can test in 5 days 🤔😁

@fuzzybump I had to take another one today. Its instead of pessaries. I don't really understand but I'm trusting they know what they're doing. So I could in theory test the day before if I can't wait.

@Kamiros - didn't know there was a pessary alternative! I was going to test out the shot but will try and wait. I guess a false positive would be worse in the long run.

I wonder how the other 2ww ladies are doing they should be near now, its nice to see some success stories

@fuzzybump I think most people have progesterone pessaries but I've to take a 2nd injection. In a way it might be good as it'll stop me symptom spotting.

I know, I feel so invested for everyone- love a positive outcome.

Fuzzybump that's really great news! 😀 We're ok here thank you. We reached day 5 after EC on Saturday and all our blastocysts were frozen. Starting the next stage of treatment in May to have a frozen transfer! x

@Millie029 - Thank you and yes i am trying to find things to do that arent too strenuous but then Netflix and Disney are on lol

Great news on getting 5 to freeze! I haven't done a FET before but I have heard good things and u get a well deserved break before the next round x

Thank you! We actually got 9 blastocysts in the end 😊 I'm not sure why, but it feels strange knowing they're sat in a freezer.

Yeah same here. It doesn't sound like much medical treatment is needed for it and our clinic said the outcome of frozen vs fresh aren't that different.. we just have the risk of the embryos not surviving the freezing/thawing process. But all we can do is see what happens at the time.
Definitely looking at the break as a positive thing.. i was going a bit mad with isolating and being super cautious!

@Millie029 - sorry no idea where 5 came from, 9 is brilliant 😍.

It does feel a bit odd that we have embies in the freezer, its quite amazing what technology can do these days. I have everything crossed for you, my hubbys sperm has been in the freezer and thawed after a few years there so have confidence they will be OK x

@Fuzzybump pleased your doing good yes we went with rekovelle we are on 6.66 daily dose. Praying AF shows up in next couple of days or we may miss this month as labs close for deaf clean at end of May

@babyvibes - Hope your AF comes in time, mine was playing up before I started, I think its the anticipation - bloody thing 😆

I am really glad I had Rekovelle this round, even if it doesn't work for me this round, it has been the least painful experience and despite the numbers my transfer was a 5AA, and my frozen ones are 5AB's which is good quality apparently.

@Fuzzybump bump I'm.pleased you said that as I've still had little "what if" thoughts about going with rekovelle. That is fab im so pleased for you. I'm trying to play it cool as its our first time in years of doing ivf so I'm not expecting much but also trying to be possotive. Only thing I have an my side is I have lost alot of weight.
I'm feeling a bit bloated and back ache this morning so fingers crossed its on its way 🤞

AF is here woohoo. Rang the clinic today and I have to go in Monday for scan and inhection tutorial 😁 so pleased I rang and didn't wait until Monday as we got the last slot

Well this 2ww is horrendous, I can't find enough things to keep my mind busy.

I gave in today and tested 🙈 wish I hadn't as it was BFN so at least the HCG shot is out. Literally half way through the wait and now enough more stressed!

@Fuzzybump I remember being like this last time we did iui it was horrible. I made myself worse by testing 2. When we did gonal f injections I tested way too early, it wasn't until 11dp that I got a faint possotive.
I'm also feeling stressed today. Have scan booked for 8.15 tomorrow morning. Got pains and bloated but my AF is totally playing up, Friday I had brown discharge then yesterday and today a little bit brown and pink bit still not bleeding properly. Will they still do my scan? I'm panicking. Sorry for the details just need to talk about it.

I'm today officially PUPO 😍
Out of our 5 fertilised only 2 made it. Both good quality. So one is in and one is frozen. Not too bad bearing in mind we only had 6 eggs.
Now the lovely waiting game until the 7th of May for beta... 🙈

You should be scanned anyway, my clinic told me to call the first day I spotted, not to wait for full period. Not sure if it's the same believe it should!

@Fuzzybump i just started and don't even know if I will be able to wait that long! 7dpo is still early so don't stress about a BFN. I was in fact told by the clinic to not test! Because these things happen 🙈🙈 (not that I think I will be able to not test but will try my best haha).

I'm doing ok with not testing so far. As much as I'm desperate to know and I'm so anxious and distracted, I won't be doing it. I want to hear the results from bloods so I'll know straight away if there's a chance of a chemical. I think with having had a mc I'll struggle to get excited until I've seen the heartbeat anyway. Its all so difficult though isn't it.

I am glad I am not the only one struggling in the TWW. Why does it seem to go so slow?!?
