Is anyone starting ivf in March/April?
Have had confirmation today I will be starting treatment in March. Been prescribed norethisterone, which I have to take CD21 of my next period (due next week).

@hopefulhel woaw that is great news!

@RosemaryRosemary hope you feel better soon

elsaesmeralda · 25/02/2021 12:58

@hopefulhel great numbers, with that amount you should have a good amount of blasts 🤞🏻

@RosemaryRosemary menopur gave me stinking headaches!

beachbum85 · 25/02/2021 14:08

@hopefulhel yeahhh that's great!! Hoping very many will get to next week :)

@Donimo thanks for that! Hope it won't be more than a week late then...

@Itsjustme2021 glad Buserelin is treating you well so far :) I have some boxes of Gonal F in my fridge, but haven't been told when I should start with that yet.
@Donimo and @Hazza2021 are you both still doing well?

Sorry @RosemaryRosemary but I have no experience with either of those. Get well soon!

Hazza2021 · 25/02/2021 14:45

@beachbum85 Hi I’m feeling okay on the buserelin, I’m not really having any side effects. I did panick last night as I felt crampy so went to the toilet and my period has come which I know is supposed to happen but I wasn’t expecting it this early, last time I’m sure it was about day 10. How are you felling? xx

beachbum85 · 25/02/2021 14:57

@Hazza2021 glad you're OK and the panic is over!
I'm OK too, thanks. I just feel really hungry all the time (I don't usually, especially in the morning) but no side effects otherwise. No sign of my period either but it's not due for another 4 days or so.
Today we managed to get exactly the right amount of Buserelin for the first time, as we were struggling with lots of air in the syringe before, so I'm happy about that... Little accomplishments hehe xx

PurpleUnicorn01 · 25/02/2021 15:01

@beachbum85 @Hazza2021

Glad your both doing well. 😀

Hazza2021 · 25/02/2021 15:21

@beachbum85 Yes I wasn’t sure if it was too early so I messaged the clinic and they said it’s all normal and that I can start Gonal f on the 7th March. I’m feeling so excited to start the next part. I’m glad everything is going well with you too. I’m sure your period will come soon!

Hazza2021 · 25/02/2021 15:24

@PurpleUnicorn01Thank you. I hope everything is going well for you too!

PurpleUnicorn01 · 25/02/2021 15:44

@Hazza2021 just waiting for my 1st appointment still couple weeks to go. Lol. Still a way to go compared to all of you

Hazza2021 · 25/02/2021 16:42

@PurpleUnicorn01 at least you will get an idea of what goes on, have you had a round before or is this your first time?

RosemaryRosemary · 25/02/2021 17:23

Thanks all. Feeling a lil better today. I have a scan tomorrow morning to see how everything is progressing.

PurpleUnicorn01 · 25/02/2021 17:43

@RosemaryRosemary hope your scan goes well.

@Hazza2021 its my first round of everything, my first appointment with gynecology after referal. Its great hearing your stories so i know what to expect. We know we have a male factor issue.

Donimo · 25/02/2021 20:29

@hopefulhel congrats, fingers crossed they keep growing for the next 5/6 days.

@RosemaryRosemary sorry you are feeling rubbish. I havent got any advice I am afraid as not got to the stims stage yet. Hope the scan goes well tomorrow and you are feeling better.

@beachbum85 glad you managed to get the air out today. Hopefully you have perfected it now! I am ok, although quite cranky this evening. But not sure if its the meds or a stressful day at work followed by a tired and angry 2 year old! How you feeling?

@Hazza2021 I am glad the clinic has reassured you and everything is going well. My period is due tomorrow but don't feel like it will come quite yet. How are you doing?

Itstime1 · 25/02/2021 20:58

Hi, could I please join in a bit late? Im on short protocol.

No-one except my manager in work and my husband knows that we're going through it at the moment (needed to let Manager know for timing of scans and days off etc).

I started norethisterone this week, base scan set for 11th March then onwards we go I think. Picked up all of the medication this week and feel like the timeframes are flying by at the moment!

6543336787gesgvjhg · 25/02/2021 22:08

@Itstime1 hello, welcome! Smile
I'm on short protocol too and start taking menopur 150 on the second day of my period. Due on 11th March so we might be similar?

Orsh · 26/02/2021 07:38

Hello All,
I was a silent observer until this moment. It has been great reading about your journey.
Most of you are far ahead of me as I haven't started any meds yet. I hope it's okay to join you regardless the time shift.
I started the process ages ago (in 2019) and finally it seems like that we are in for March.
I had an IUI in February last year (the other 5 were cancelled due to covid) so I am familiar with the injections at least.
I am not given any dates, I need to call the hospital on CD1. We plan with a long protocol, however they said they will decide as we progress depending on egg count, etc. So there are a lot of unknown details, but at least it's moving forward now.

elsaesmeralda · 26/02/2021 07:38

Morning ladies. Trying to keep up with everyone's journey but must admit I keep getting lost 😆
I've got a planning app phonecall today. Just to talk me through my new protocol for this FET, start buserelin on the 3rd. Anyone had any side effects from it?

PurpleUnicorn01 · 26/02/2021 09:12

@Orsh and @elsaesmeralda

Good luck both of you and welcome

IVFninja · 26/02/2021 13:29

How’s everybody doing?

I’m ridiculously anxious today. I’m currently injecting buselerin ahead of a FET and the two week window is almost up and still no sign of my period. Really panicking in case this causes postponement and further delays.

I also stupidly had an AMH test last week and my reading has bombed from 12.5 (feb 20) to 7.5! I really really hope that because I’m on buselerin it’s given a false result. I’m only 35 😔

Hope everyone is feeling more positive than I currently am. Works very quiet so being lost in my own thoughts is pretty traumatic today xx

elsaesmeralda · 26/02/2021 13:59

Try not to stress @IVFninja although I know that's easy for someone else to say!
Can you call your clinic regarding the missing/late period ?

IVFninja · 26/02/2021 14:07

@elsaesmeralda thank you 😘

I’ve left them a voicemail - the communication side there is dire unfortunately. Going to be a long weekend! X

IVFninja · 26/02/2021 14:09

On a happier note, is anyone on here with a clinic that they’d highly recommend? My blasts on ice are average quality so I’m being realistic that this FET may not succeed and I’m researching where to continue my journey :-)

6543336787gesgvjhg · 26/02/2021 14:13

@IVFninja I recommend The Fertility Partnership but try and think positive it will work this time. Have you read the secret or the magic? Might take your mind off it all.

On another note I've booked to have the meds delivered Wednesday 3rd on the plan to start injections day 2 (hopefully 12th March) I'm stressing now that the meds are arriving too soon!! Am I going crazy 🤣🤣 they will be fine won't they, surely the expiry is like months/years. Thanks everyone

IVFninja · 26/02/2021 14:21

@6543336787gesgvjhgYeah the expiry on them is usually pretty lengthy - they’ll be fine ☺️

elsaesmeralda · 26/02/2021 14:25

@IVFninja I hear you with the communication side of things - I'm lucky if someone answers the phone! Never been given a weekend out of hours number either so not sure what I'd do if I needed info urgently on a weekend, thanks Gil for Mumsnet in that case I guess 😆

@6543336787gesgvjhg meds should be fine! Just make sure if there is anything for the fridge to put them straight in
