Hi

I’m due to start IVF mid February depending on when my period in January starts.
Had a fresh cycle end of august which sadly ended in a missed miscarriage in October.
I only had that one embryo so will be starting a new fresh cycle.

Would love to chat to any ladies starting then as I found the chats really helpful during my first round.

To be fair @RichmondLady1981 I'd pay some good dolla dolla for that app so I reckon you should go for it! 😂
I've been Googling all possible outcomes since my update yesterday and honestly this is the most intense I have felt through this whole journey so far.
Convinced myself nothing is happening and that we have a speak dna frag issue. No reasoning for it other than we're unexplained and I have been pregnant before.

Our brains are crazy huh!
Day three update tomorrow though 🤞🏻

RichmondLady1981 · 26/02/2021 20:36

@2mumlife so sorry to hear you’re disappointed- I know only too well how this feels with my 3 eggs from EC. You have to try and focus on the ones you have and the possibilities they can offer. Thinking of you.

@Georgia2799 your comment about an all inclusive made me laugh! 😂

@thetallgirl glad EC is out of the way. Definitely time for RandR!

RichmondLady1981 · 26/02/2021 20:58

@willithappen I’m with you- I also have my day three update tomorrow. Nervous and already thinking of my next (secondh cycle). The fact you’ve been preggo before is a great sign. Shows you can get to hatching blastocyst stage naturally. Did your fella have a DNA frag test?

RichmondLady1981 · 26/02/2021 21:00

@thetallgirl well done on getting your EC over. Everything crossed for tomorrow on your update.

RichmondLady1981 · 26/02/2021 21:03

@Motherofkittens28 they sound like great sizes! All the best for your trigger tomorrow! What tigger are you using?

Georgia2799 · 26/02/2021 21:05

@Motherofkittens28 first injection was last Friday and last one will be Saturday , I totally get that I’m pretty nervous myself I think mostly for the fact since I’ve been on this infertility journey nothing seems to have gone start forward I’m sure so many can relate to that sadly, my partner had to have surgical sperm retrieval surgery but it may have to be repeated but keeping fingers crossed all will be fine once they unfreeze it .

@RichmondLady1981 only way to describe my look currently 😂

GingerBrummie · 26/02/2021 21:29

@RichmondLady1981 thank you, OTD is 12th March, 2 weeks today. I was given a photo of the embryo after they put it inside, Im trying to not get too attached to it!

Good luck to everyone with their update calls tomorrow X

willithappen · 26/02/2021 21:38

@RichmondLady1981 nope, they did one test for him, found everything fine except 1% morphology and then decided issue must be with me so started looking into me

I was younger and with a previous partner before, although didn't result in a child and my current partner I believe he said had tried with his previous partner (around ten years ago) and nothing happened. She now has two kids with her partner so I do to an extent wonder if there is something else underlying. Didn't want to push it though because I don't want to push on that he's the issue when it could well be something with me still!

RichmondLady1981 · 26/02/2021 22:02

@willithappen I know it’s a really sensitive one isn’t it? It’s not really about blame or pointing the finger but that aside, tomorrow is a big day - thinking of you and hoping there’s lots of positive news. 💕

Motherofkittens28 · 26/02/2021 22:38

@RichmondLady1981 thanks! Im triggering with ovitrelle, a bit worried about using the different pen and it seems like eons ago that the nurse told us how to do it! What was your trigger?

RichmondLady1981 · 26/02/2021 22:54

@Motherofkittens28 I triggered with that too! It was the 250 pen. It’s really easy... I remember just twisting the pen wheel as far round as it would go to 250 and then push the very end of the pen to inject.

I remember being taken by surprise because the Ovaleap injection pen was spring loaded. When you hit the button the hormone just injected automatically. With the ovitrelle it was all very manual- no spring or anything taking over. All manpower and you very much control the flow of the injection.

Hope this makes sense. Was all very easy.

Blessing12 · 27/02/2021 08:53

Good luck everyone with day 3 update, im waiting for the call.
Good luck those having EC.

@GingerBrummie thats brilliant news, good luck with your 2ww i think thats going to be the worst part for me if im lucky enough to get to that stage.
Iv been watching loads of videos and people are testing 4dpt, im not sure if ill be able to wait 2w if im honest. Also my clinic dont do beta, they just say so a test and then they do an early scan.

Motherofkittens28 · 27/02/2021 09:31

@RichmondLady1981 oh that's good to hear. Did you do a double trigger? I just have a single but ive been on buserelin everyday since 30th Jan, although only on 25 since I started stimming. Just about to do my last stim injection and then trigger at 10:30 tonight

thetallgirl · 27/02/2021 09:47

@RichmondLady1981 @Motherofkittens28 my trigger was Ovitrelle too and I was also surprised by how slow the pen was after the Ovaleap pen.

I had my day 1 call from the clinic this morning - of the 17 eggs collected, 16 were mature and 13 have fertilised. I am over the moon with that. As a reminder I'm 31 and we have unexplained infertility. All our tests have come back fine so I can't help but think at every stage 'maybe we'll fall down here and that will explain why we've never been pregnant'.

RichmondLady1981 · 27/02/2021 10:12

Congratulations @thetallgirl. That’s super!

I’m just awaiting my day 3 call too.

I’m severely constipated. Had to call the doctors this morning who have written me a prescription. It’s gone to another level. Need evacuation soon. Sorry TMI

2mumlife · 27/02/2021 10:17

Day 1 call this morning. 1 fertilised egg, and 1 that shows 'signs of activation' but doesn't look like full on fertilisation that they're going to leave and see if it progresses over the weekend.

I feel I should just start accepting now that we're unlikely to have anything to transfer next week.

I'm absolutely devasted. We're not meant to have any issues - we're only on the IVF train because we need to use donor sperm and IUI wasn't working. All my initial tests came back fine, so I'd thought this was all going to be easy TTC and that with pulling out the big IVF guns it should all be fine, but seems there's a massive issue with me that no one was expecting.

Seaswimmingdeservesasunnyday · 27/02/2021 10:19

Hello, first time on here. I am 40 and doing a first round of IVF. Have low AMH of 3.8 but ok AFC of 14 last summer and then 11 just before Christmas. Am on highest dose of Meriofert but day 8 scan had only 7 potential follicles and day 10 scan only had 2 above 20mm and then 2 above 15mm. The rest hadn't responded. Nurse said 2-4 was good for my AMH level. Egg collection tomorrow but is there any point if I might only have 2? And how did that ok AFC translate to only two potential eggs? Feeling really despondent. Anyone had similar experiences and did you collect or not?

thetallgirl · 27/02/2021 10:25

@GingerBrummie what strength are your pessaries? I asked the embryologist this morning about whether I should be taking 3 a day because I'm tall like you. She said that 2 a day of the 400mg pessaries is fine but when she worked at another clinic they recommended 3 x 200mg.

thetallgirl · 27/02/2021 10:27

Oh @RichmondLady1981 that sounds uncomfortable! Hopefully you get regular soon :/

Motherofkittens28 · 27/02/2021 10:30

Congratulations @thetallgirl!
@2mumlife so sorry to hear that, hopefully it will catch up today! It might be that they need to change your protocol after this now they know more about your response, don't despair!

@Seaswimmingdeservesasunnyday you have a lower AMH than me and at day 14 of stims I only had 18,17,14,13 im stimming this morning and triggering tonight, if I had your sizes I would be over the moon right now. As the nurse said your AMH is an indication of how many eggs you will get and the 15s still have two days to grow so you may end up with 4 which would be great. My AFC was 9 and I've ended up with only 5 follicles throughout this round so I dont think the AFC is as helpful an indicator as the AMH. Hope that helps

Seaswimmingdeservesasunnyday · 27/02/2021 10:39

@Motherofkittens28 it really does, thank you. So egg collection is still a good idea then

GingerBrummie · 27/02/2021 11:36

@thetallgirl great news on your fertilisation rate. Im similar to you in that Im also “unexplained” & sort of using IVF as a diagnostics.... I keep thinking they will “find” a reason why it hasnt worked naturally for the past 2.5yrs!
Im on 400mg pessaries x 3 per day. I dont think a little extra would do any harm.
@RichmondLady1981sorry to hear your uncomfortable, hopefully what the doc prescribes will do the job.

2mumlife · 27/02/2021 11:42

@RichmondLady1981 have you had your update today about how your eggs are doing yet?

@Motherofkittens28 we'll see I guess, embryologist didn't sound hopefuly to be honest, and said even if the second one did start dividing it might not be any good. We've only financially got 1 more shot at things really. I'm not sure what the plan would be about changing protocol, I wasn't in the right space to get into it with consultant yesterday about whats gone wrong and why we got so few eggs given scan showed some big follicules. I wondering if I need a lower dosage next time, because I was only started stims last Wednesday and at the first scan this Wednesday was told I was there - even before they looked at blood work the nurse doing with scan said she thought I'd be egg collection Friday. I wonder if they needed to have left me on stims for longer?

MrTumbleTumble · 27/02/2021 11:49

@2mumlife I know exactly how you feel. We're in the same boat, only doing this because we need donor sperm and not supposed to have any issues. Hopefully that one keeps going over the weekend (last cycle we had 3 fertilise, 3 make it to blastocyst so it is possible) and if not, they learn some lessons for your next cycle Flowers

MrTumbleTumble · 27/02/2021 11:53

I'm a bit envious of all of you ladies getting day 3 updates, we won't get an update until Monday morning which is day 5. Yesterday's (day 2) was promising though, 2x 4 cell embryos and 1x 2 cell embryo, all grade 1 and 2s so far. Hoping they are still going - that embryo app is seeming like a better idea all the time!
