@MF1981 how are you getting on?

I have my scan on Thursday, stopped the Fyremadel injections today so just the 3 x oestrogen pills now.

MF1981 · 25/01/2021 08:34

Hey @Gensola I was 7.7mm on Sat morning so good to go! Started the cyclogest pessaries yesterday along with continuing the oestrogen pills and transfer is booked for Thursday. Eeekk!

lucymills1234 · 25/01/2021 09:00

Sorry for the delayed response @Jane1284 I don't seem to get notifications any more.

Such good news on the response! That's really encouraging that you have 4 big follicles. I hope all went ok with the trigger and the actual collection process today is smooth sailing. Lots and lots of luck! x

Gensola · 25/01/2021 10:09

@MF1981 yay, so glad for you! I was wondering how long after the scan they’d wait to transfer - did they make you ovulate with a trigger? My clinic haven’t been great with explaining an FET, I feel like they were much more on it with a fresh.

MF1981 · 25/01/2021 10:30

@Gensola I’m doing a fully medicated FET so no need to trigger as I’ve been down regulating and am now on progesterone

lucymills1234 · 27/01/2021 08:41

Hey @Jane1284 how was the EC? Any progress news? Hope you're doing ok.

Jane1284 · 11/02/2021 08:31

Hi @lucymills1234 - sorry I have taken so long to respond. Round two was very disappointing and I was so low the past 2 weeks. I went into EC expecting 4 eggs since I had 4 good sized follicles on the progress scans. I woke-up to be told they only got two eggs. I was distraught. In floods of tears in the clinic. Felt like such a failure! Then only 1 of them fertilised normally. On day 3 the embryologist called with the update saying it was still going but graded average. She couldn't say whether it was likely to make it to day 5 for a transfer or to freeze. I couldn't handle the thought of going through the whole process, all the injections and stress, to not have anything to transfer or freeze at the end of it so I asked if I could have a 3 day transfer. The doctor agreed and I got myself to the clinic ASAP to have my transfer. I was so depressed and down on that day. I think after my first round being a pleasant surprise, with 4 eggs all fertilising and making it to day 3, I was so upset to only get one embryo. Anyway, after a long 2 week wait I tested this morning to see my first ever positive test. I know it is early days still but I am so happy to know that I can get pregnant and that IVF can work for us. I am hoping this little one sticks around!
How are you getting on? xx

Emmalouise11 · 11/02/2021 10:33

@Jane1284 congratulations lovely news! Wish you all the best x

Jane1284 · 11/02/2021 10:51

Thank you @Emmalouise11 :-) How are you getting on? xx

MF1981 · 11/02/2021 10:53

Brilliant news @Jane1284!

Emmalouise11 · 11/02/2021 11:16

@Jane1284 I’m getting on alright thank you coming up to 7 weeks so fingers crossed everything is alright at my scan, how are you feeling? X

Jane1284 · 11/02/2021 11:22

That's so exciting @Emmalouise11. I bet you can't wait for that first scan to see the little one. How have you been feeling? Any sickness?
I feel a mixture of overjoyed that I have finally seen a positive pregnancy test and terrified that something will go wrong. This whole IVF process messes with your mind! xx

Emmalouise11 · 11/02/2021 11:40

No I’ve been feeling alright no crazy symptoms makes you wonder sometimes if you actually are pregnant lol. Yes the whole process is very mind messing I feel exactly the same, I’m trying not to be on the internet to much cause it is giving me so much anxiety. X

Emmalouise11 · 11/02/2021 11:40

@Jane1284

Jane1284 · 11/02/2021 11:56

That's a wise decision to make @Emmalouise11. I've already spent the morning googling chemical pregnancies. What a knob! I should just enjoy it rather than torment myself. Hopefully it gets easier over the next few days.
I hope your scan goes well and you can relax knowing your little one is growing well xx

Emmalouise11 · 11/02/2021 12:35

@Jane1284 😂 you sound like me I’ve googled everything and convinced myself all sorts of stuff, it’s dangerous. Thank you you too xx

BrandyM · 14/02/2021 09:50

Congratulations @Emmalouise11 and @Jane1284!! What fantastic news! So so happy for you both! All the best with the upcoming scans!

@Emmalouise11 not everyone gets sickness. Enjoy the fact that you may not get it at all. I've had it since the sixth week (I'm 13 weeks now) and haven't stopped being ill with nausea and vomiting since. It's horrible. It's made me not enjoy my pregnancy and the constant illness and extreme exhaustion is making me feel so depressed 😔 I don't want to sound ungrateful but pregnancy is not what I thought it'd be 😞 Fingers crossed you both have a much better experience than me 🤞🏽

Hey guys wondered if you could help me out please! So as you know I had a freeze all and had my FET 17 days ago. I got a really strong BFP on my otd on Wednesday. The last couple of days I’ve had some light crampy type feelings and this morning I’ve had a tiny bit of pink/light brown when I wipe. I’ve been feeling a bit nauseous the last few days too. Is the crampy feeling and the discharge normal?

Jane1284 · 14/02/2021 16:05

I’m so sorry you’ve been feeling so ill @BrandyM. Sounds awful. Must really affect your life when all you want to do is enjoy finally being pregnant. Hopefully you start feeling better now you are in your second trimester. So happy for you that you have made it past 12 weeks. You must be so relieved. How did your scan go? I feel like time is standing still right now. Even my 7 week scan feels unreachable. Convinced myself I am going to lose it. Such a horrible way to think about things.

@MF1981 congratulations on your BFP! My OTD was Wednesday too so we are on the same timeline. I have no symptoms apart from period pain cramping which started around a week after my 3DT and is getting progressively less to where I almost feel nothing. My boobs also started feeling tender after I started on progesterone but that feeling has completely gone now which worried me at first. From what I have googled every woman is different but bleeding is very common in pregnancy and not always a cause for concern. Makes sense to speak to your clinic if you have any bleeding so they can advise.

Emmalouise11 · 15/02/2021 10:47

@BrandyM sorry you feel so bad, hopefully you start to feel better soon! 🤞🏼

@MF1981 I’ve had brown spotting for a while now since about 5 weeks, I went to the epu and they scanned me but she said she couldn’t see where it was coming from but if it got worse or painful then go back but now it’s just on and off, so could be nothing but maybe check with your nurse or unit. I also have had period type pains a few times

MF1981 · 15/02/2021 11:39

Thanks @Emmalouise11 that’s really reassuring to hear

lucymills1234 · 15/02/2021 16:32

@Jane1284 this is amazing news! So happy for you to get the BFP, everything crossed from here out. Your story is definitely one of those 'you never know' scenarios - the sort that are so hard to listen to when you want it to be you and then when it is I bet you're in disbelief! Biology confounds us over and over again...

I'm not great, but thanks for asking! Had my baseline today and though I'm cleared to start stims in a couple of days, the cyst which I had on my last cycle is still there and they think it may be an endometrioma which of course would mean endometriosis, something I've not been diagnosed with. Feels a bit like someone has shoved another big hurdle in the path.

On the plus side, they said they could see quite a few follicles so that's something!

Jane1284 · 15/02/2021 16:45

@lucymills1234 thank you. Still a long way to go but I am very happy to see my first ever positive test. It gives me hope for future rounds after being convinced my body would never be pregnant.

I'm sorry to hear about your possible endo. You really don't need more bad news when on this journey. Hopefully it is just a normal cyst and it clears itself up. Wonderful news about there being quite a few follicles. Have they changed your protocol/stims this time? You did good last time so hopefully you respond well this time too. I think leaving a break in between rounds was a good move. Much better on the body and should hopefully result in another good result. Please keep me posted on how you get on. I will be thinking of you over the next few weeks and sending lots of good vibes xx

lucymills1234 · 23/02/2021 12:42

I hope things are still progressing ok for you @Jane1284 ?

I'm on the same protocol as last time. It sounds weird to say since the end result was a BFN, but the clinic views my last treatment up to that point as a success so everything is exactly the same. I'll have my day 8 stims scan tomorrow so I'll get to find out how things are progressing. I'm feeling a bit bloated so fingers crossed that's a sign of follicle growth.

I really hope you're feeling well and the wait for the next step isn't driving you too crazy...
