@Gensola yeah I checked and checked and checked with the clinic but this is their standard fully medicated FET protocol. I had to start injecting on day 21 of my last cycle and then inject for 2 and a half weeks before my first scan. Then at the scan they confirmed thin lining and that I was “down regulated” and told me to start progynova. I started on 1 tablet a day for 5 days, then 2 tablets for 4 days and now I’m on 3 tablets with scan booked in for Thursday.

@Jane1284 I really hope the banking approach works out for you. I recall last cycle you were pleasantly surprised to get more eggs than expected so I hope it's the same again. Everything crossed for the progress scan, keep us posted. I don't start any meds for another few weeks. Will be the same protocol as last time for me as well. I'm already nervous about my response this time. Sounds ridiculous but I worry it was some kind of fluke/beginners luck to get the response I did (even if it was a BFN at the end), which I know is irrational. I can only imagine how much you want that scan to be done and positive!

My clinic doesn't do a package, and I wouldn't have the money anyway, so I'm taking one cycle at a time. If this round isn't successful I think money will prevent me from doing another fresh one - going for round 2 has already taken all I can borrow. I can only hope I'll get blasts from it. This doesn't get easier, does it?!

@MF1981 the FET process is longer than I thought... good to know. Good luck for your transfer, that feeling of time ticking away is horrible isn't it.

I really hope it works for us too @lucymills1234 ! If we don't have success after 3 more cycles I think it will be time to take stock. It is so expensive and only going to get less likely to work as I get older. I only had 3 follicles visible on my scans last time but ended up with 4 eggs so I would be happy to have the same again this time, but you just don't know. I don't want to put too much pressure on myself but I am so worried if I don't get 2 blasts again each round I will be disappointed.
I hope your second round is just as good as your first. They must be happy if they are keeping you on the same protocol. I'll be keeping everything crossed for you! The whole money side of things is just an additional stress we really don't need xx

Has anyone heard of the progesterone pessaries and estrogen causing a false positive? I know if you have the trigger shot still in your system it can but I wouldn’t of thought they could.

@Jane1284 ive read about other countries (mainly Greece) using your method with huge success. I would love to try it myself but my clinic make you use all frozen before moving into the next Fresh cycle. I paid for two cycles up front, have two Frosties in the freezer and one full cycle left if this one fails.

Hey @Emmalouise11 - my understanding is that a pregnancy test just tests for HCG. I don't see how progesterone would have any affect on this. Have you had positive tests?x

Hi @Gensola - That's interesting. I can see why clinics would suggest using all your frozen embryos before having another IVF round if you have lots in the freezer (why put yourself through IVF if you don't have to) but I think for people like me with very low AFC you're only going to get one or two per round and they probably won't be high quality so makes sense to bank a few while still 36. Especially since in an ideal world I would like 2 children (would be happy just to have one now!)

Hey @Jane1284 yeah that’s what I thought maybe she just assumed I was on other medication. Yes I tested very early at only 4dp5dt and got a very faint line and tested again at 5dp5dt and it was faint but darker. X

@Jane1284 I’m having my lining scan on 28th and if it’s thick enough transfer a couple of days after that, so hoping for end of next week for transfer. I only got two embryos of middling quality from my first cycle so I am fully expecting to have to do another round. We agreed we’d only do the two rounds for ££ reasons but I know already I’ll want to go again if both fail. Not sure how DH will react to this news so I’ll save it for nearer the time!

@Gensola I hope this is the round for you. I have heard of lots of women not having success with their high quality blasts and then having a pregnancy with lower quality so try not to put too much focus on quality. Easier said than done- I know! Our one blast in the freezer was only frozen on day 6 so I worry about how good it is -one of the main reasons I decided to go straight back into IVF. I had my day 8 scan yesterday and 4 follicles have responded to the meds. It is stressful to only have 4 but we got two blasts from 4 eggs last round so hopefully we will have similar success this time.

Good luck for next Thursday! It is so hard to know when to stop. I have said that if we don't have success from this 3 cycle package that it may be time to accept IVF is not for us. But I guess we will make that decision when we get there. For now we should both focus on the right now. x

My lining wasn’t thick enough on my scan today - only 5.7mm. I’ve got to wait to hear from the clinic as to what to do next. Really disappointed.

@MF1981 oh no, I’m sorry to hear that. They can give you a few extra days I think on the drugs? Have you had issues with lining before? I’m not sure what it needs to be for transfer, is it 7 or 8? Hope they give you some answers soon

@Gensola they’ve told me to continue with the drugs on the current dose and to go back on Saturday morning for another scan. Not sure how much difference 2 days will make. I think 8mm is what they look for. I’ve always been around 8.5mm on a natural cycle and on stims.

Thanks @Jane1284 although I’m not sure what 2 days will do 🤷‍♀️. Also our heating has broken and I’ve had an argument with my fiancé - on our anniversary 🙈

@MF1981no they said moderate exercise to increase blood flow, plenty of water and pregnancy vitamins I was already taking and just the same drugs and it came right up from 6 to 9!
I have been worried about this as I’ve already had my fresh transfer cancelled in Dec due to OHSS so I will be pretty devo if this one is cancelled too. Sending lots of endometrium-growing vibes!

@Gensola I remember you actually as I had the same problem with ohss - think you were just a couple of weeks behind me

I did some fertility yoga last night and we’re going for a walk this afternoon plus the pomegranate juice and vitamins - it was all I could do at short notice!

Hey @lucymills1234 - Of course :-) I had my first scan on Wed and second/final scan today. Once again I have responded very quick to the stims and I am booked in for collection on Monday which is day 13. There are 4 big follicles so hopefully they will get 4 eggs again this time. Fingers crossed! x
