@BrandyM hey, been a bit of a turbulent couple of weeks, keep spotting in and off, so its been worrying. I have my scan on Tuesday so am praying all is okay, but just have this feeling its not going to be. I have been feeling tired and a bit nauseous though. How have you been? Xx

KatBeCool · 23/12/2020 14:14

@BrandyM do you remember how much liquid you drank before the transfer? That sounds horrific that they had to play around with catheters. I know what you mean about symptom spotting. I want to feel something down there so bad but the embryo is too tiny to make an impact. I know the boobs aren't an indicator considering that they started to get just a little sore the day before the transfer. I had a chemical almost a year ago, and I had only symptom which was very bad heartburn, such I never had heartburn before. So obviously my brain is reminding me of that. And the pulling, and the butterflies. And the fact that I must test on Christmas morning and it's going to be so hard not to. Where in the process are you? I know I joined a bit late.

Roo45 · 01/01/2021 13:23

Wanted to wish you all a happy new year! 2020 was awful for so many for so many different reasons and added so much extra stress to the IVF process. It was really helpful for me to have this group going through IVF for the first time.
For those successful I wish you healthy and safe pregnancies and for those it didn't work for this month I hope 2021 is a better year for us.
Take care all xxx

ShiMo · 01/01/2021 14:56

@Roo45 thanks for this lovely message :) I echo everything you’ve said.

Wishing you the best of luck for 2021 Xx

Emmalouise11 · 16/01/2021 16:11

Hey how’s everyone getting on? Did anyone have implantation bleeding after a FET?

MF1981 · 16/01/2021 16:23

@Emmalouise11 good timing as I have a question re FET as well! I’m about 10 days away from my transfer - I hope! - and have a really heavy feeling in my uterus. Almost like AF is nearly here. Anyone else have this during their FET prep?

BrandyM · 17/01/2021 09:47

Hello, how’s everyone doing?

@MrsF1989 how did your scan go? Hope it all went ok.

@KatBeCool how are you getting on? Sorry didn’t check in.

@Roo45 happy new year to you too! Hope all is going well!

@shimo hope you’re doing well too!

@Emmalouise11 and @MF1981 hope you’re both well. I don’t have answer re FET. Hopefully someone with experience will advise xx

@BrandyM unfortunately, my transfer failed. At least now I know that progesterone shots are nothing to be afraid of. I walked away without a single bruise. How are you doing?

BrandyM · 17/01/2021 10:03

@KatBeCool I’m so sorry to hear that the transfer didn’t work. Did you have any embryos left for frozen transfer? Yes, progesterone isn’t that bad is it? Were you on Lubion or some other brand?

I’m currently 9 weeks + 2 days. I don’t want to sound insensitive but I’m really suffering from severe morning sickness. I’ve been diagnosed with Hyperemesis which is severe sickness and on medication to keep me going. I hardly eat/ drink due to food aversions and everything I eat comes out straight away. I’ve a call with the GP on Monday to see if they can change it to a stronger medication as the current one isn’t working. I thought getting pregnant was the hardest part but first trimester is so hard (at least for me). They say it’ll ease after 12 weeks and can’t wait to start feeling better. I feel so down at the moment.

Best of luck on next steps and keep us posted xx

OP posts:
KatBeCool · 17/01/2021 10:09

@BrandyM it was our one and only embryo. We'll be trying again soon. I've seen it somewhere that a certain vitamin or supplement helps with preventing hyperemesis. Except you need to start it early. Of course I don't remember which one. Are you or were you taking anything? Other than the medication you were prescribed.

BrandyM · 17/01/2021 10:16

@KatBeCool I think it’s vitamin B6. I started taking it and stopped when the GP prescribed the medication I’m currently on. Maybe I should’ve continued taking it. I’ll talk to him tomorrow and see if he lets me take B6 too.

Sorry to hear that it was your only embryo. Best of luck in your next round whenever you’re ready to go ahead. Did you have a consultation after it failed to discuss why they think it failed? Hopefully, you and the consultant are a little bit closer to understanding what works/ doesn’t work Xx

OP posts:
KatBeCool · 17/01/2021 10:22

@BrandyM I did not have the consultation after. I am going to switch clinics anyway so I didn't care to talk to them anymore. I had a chemical before so I know my body is at least capable of letting the embryo implant. My lining was good. So it had to be the embryo itself and there's no way to know what was wrong with it now.

BrandyM · 17/01/2021 10:32

@KatBeCool Ah I see. Although I'm sure going through chemical pregnancy was awful at the time, it’s at least a reassurance that implantation isn’t an issue. I took a few egg quality supplements 2-3 months before egg collection. The main one bring ubiqunol. I’m sure you’re taking these but if not, I highly recommend them. X

MrsF1989 · 17/01/2021 10:32

@BrandyM I'm well thank you, scan was all okay 😊. Sorry to hear you've been so poorly, hopefully it starts to ease for you soon.

Best of luck to everyone going through treatment this year, I really hope this is the year you get your miracles ❤ xx

BrandyM · 17/01/2021 10:38

@MrsF1989 So glad to hear your scan went well after all the stress with the spotting! Are you 9 1/2weeks too? Has the spotting gone away now?

I’m hoping the sickness eases when I’m 12 weeks. Are you not getting any morning sickness? Xx

lucymills1234 · 17/01/2021 10:43

Hi @BrandyM was wondering how you were doing... Sorry to hear about the sickness, sounds miserable. Hopefully the GP can help when you speak.

My fresh transfer failed in Dec and I have a 4BB in the freezer. But because of my age (42 in April) I've decided to go for a fresh cycle rather than an FET. I thought if the FET didn't work I'm another 3 months plus down the line and my eggs will be older. So since I already know I'm prepared to do another fresh cycle if needed, I may as well do it now.

Will start meds at the beginning of Feb. The clinic is keeping everything the same since my response seemed good last time. I know the frozen is there whatever happens, but of course my hope is that I'll get some blasts out of this new cycle to give myself another chance (or chances, hopefully).

Good luck with the GP!

dragonfly1978 · 17/01/2021 18:33

@lucymills1234 I am the same, cycle failed in November / December and am 42, start next cycle in February. Good luck, fingers crossed for you 🤞

Gensola · 17/01/2021 21:33

Hi all! I’ve had a break from the IVF boards for a bit but now on day one of a medicated FET cycle hoping for transfer in about two weeks of one of our two frosties. Feeling hopeful and nervous!

Birdladybird · 17/01/2021 22:43

Hi everyone. I’ve just taken a double trigger in preparation for EC on Tuesday morning. Fingers crossed it’s more successful than the last one!

Jane1284 · 18/01/2021 08:19

Hello All

I hope 2021 is the year for us all. I am hopeful for success for those of us who's ET didn't stick in Dec and good luck to those who had a freeze all and are having a FET soon.

So sorry to hear about your terrible sickness @BrandyM. Hopefully you are feeling better soon.

I am in a similar situation to you @lucymills1234 in that I have one in the freezer but have decided rather than go back for a FET I will instead be doing a 3 cycle package with the aim of banking some embryos (hopefully) and then having a FET later in the year. Due to my low number of follicles and after discussions with my doctor I think this made the most sense for me. Obviously nervous to see how my body reacts this second time. I am on the exact same protocol and started stims on Thursday. First progress scan on Wednesday. Eeep

xx

MF1981 · 18/01/2021 08:46

Hey @Jane1284 I noticed you mentioned a 3 cycle package - if it’s with access then they make you use all frozen embryos before moving on to the next fresh one. Just thought I’d mention it just in case.

Jane1284 · 18/01/2021 08:54

Hey @MF1981 - thank you. It's just a 3 cycle package with the clinic and they suggested banking embryos so it should be fine. I don't think they offer access fertility at my clinic so I never looked into doing that but it sounds like a good option if they accept you. Not sure I would be accepted with my low AMH/AFC anyway as my chances of success are not the best.

How are you getting on with your FET? xx

MF1981 · 18/01/2021 10:17

@Jane1284 I guessed it might be a clinic package you were referring to but thought I’d check! FET is so slow compared to fresh! I’ve been injecting Buserelin for nearly a month now. Started progynova about 10 days ago and booked in for a scan on Thursday. Hopefully all looks ok and I can have transfer next week. I’m having a double transfer so that if none of these 4 embryos in the freezer stick I move on to another fresh cycle quicker. I’m 40 in March so need to get a move on! Good luck with your next fresh cycle!

Jane1284 · 18/01/2021 10:42

@MF1981Appreciate you checking :-) A month of injecting!! Wow, I'm going to have a shock when I come to doing my first FET. I hope all goes well for you on Thursday. Double transfer sounds like a great idea. So good that you have 4 in the freezer. Hopefully this FET is the one for you and you won't have to do any more. At least you know any further rounds you should respond well. All the best xx

Gensola · 18/01/2021 10:46

@MF1981 interesting to read you’ve been injecting for a month! I am on an FET too but they just let me wait for AF then start injecting on day 2 with 3 pills a day on top.
